(12/21/2014) Not Yet Delivered From Racism?

America, benefits from the death of Jesus upon the cross, and racism are topics, today.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “A. G. Sepulveda” (Level 7 with 44,680 points, a member since November 10, 2006) posted the following:

When Christ came to this earth and was crucified He delivered us from all evil, yet racism is rampant in America. Why?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:  But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.  For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.  So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.  For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.  (James 2:  8-13, KJV)

“A. G. Sepulveda”, as you know, racism has been a problem throughout the world, does not have its origin in America, and has not been exclusive to America.  Here are some points in line with Christian belief that may be helpful in your further considerations:

(1.)  Many of the benefits from the cross are mistakenly thought to be abstract, global, and universal (i.e. bestowed upon anyone, everyone, and all).  Atonement, forbearance, and forgiveness are intended for all, yet, aspects of divine inheritance such as justification, rebirth, and sanctification may only be secured by those accepting Christ as their personal redeemer and savior.

(2.)  Because sin is no carnal, living or material thing that has been given existence by divinity, its elimination and removal can not be accomplished by mechanical and simple acts to reverse its creation.  Even where there is the death of a sinner, and their poisoned fruit can no longer be put forth, their actions have been seed, and the consequences and outcome of their deeds will continue indefinitely long after they are gone to the grave.

(3.)  From the time of Adam, the institutions initiated and used by GOD to order and support mankind populating the earth included family, hierarchy, marriage, reproduction, expiatory sacrifice, Sabbath, and worship.  The social mechanisms later devised by mankind for communication and survival introduced such negative elements as competition, enslavement, ethnicity, exploitation, nomadic wandering, race, tribalism, and urbanism.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Many of those untouched by the Gospel do not accept a duty from GOD to love, yet, they will insist they have a duty and privilege to destroy and kill in the name of GOD.  The death of Christ to establish atonement and propitiation for sin pertain to its weight in judgment, rather than its continued existence or elimination.  Those born again are challenged to continue life in the earth overcoming sin through Spirit.)  I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
