(04/30/2013) Scripture at Funerals?

The practice of reading Scriptures at funerals is the topic, today. Also, there is more on the miraculous births of Jesus and John the Baptist. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Declan” (Level 1 with 94 points, a member since February 17, 2013) posted the following:

Why are bible verses read at funerals?

THE BATTLE AXE: Both Born Holy? (04/29/2013)—(6.)  Lacking the Holy Spirit and a right knowledge of the process of GOD, many mistakenly believe that the Scriptures are filled with contradictions and errors, because they see the same sacred events and miracles recorded more than once, yet, they are not reported exactly the same way.  Depending upon human intelligence, logic, or reason, and seeking to understand without spiritual discernment, the profound and subtle increases effected by GOD cannot be detected.  See 1st Corinthians 2: 9-14, KJV. (7.)  The work of John was to announce the fulfillment of divine promises and prophesies recorded in the Scriptures. The work of Jesus was to actually carryout, institute, and perform sacred events, and divine operations upon the earth that pertained to worship and the divine Sanctuary in heaven.  Included in the Savior’s work were atonement, forgiveness, incarnation, proclamation, purification, rebirth, reconciliation, and resurrection.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (Luke 9: 57-61, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Quoting Scripture to GOD? (04/24/2013); Illusion? (04/25/2013); Suddenly Absent, Suddenly Present (03/31/2013); A Family Affair? (04/01/2013); What to Take Literally (03/11/2013); A GOD of War? (03/12/2013); The Prophets (02/24/2012); Binder 3: A Commitment To The Scriptures (09/30/2011); Inspiration? (03/05/2011); Blasphemy? (03/06/2011); Bible Boring? (09/29/2010)

Declan, here are some points understood to be important among many mature Christian believers about the reading of Scriptures:

(1.) For many, burial of the dead is a mechanical and practical process having more to do with sanitation than salvation. (It is necessary to remove the dead and their decay to block the spread of disease and sickness.) The reading of Scriptures is not needed to “take out the garbage” or to “remove the trash.” For those who acknowledge the authority and sovereignty of GOD over life, death and eternity, readings from Scripture are used to acknowledge and show respect to the exalted position of GOD as Creator and Maker of mankind, as Judge over the quick and the dead, and as the One who establishes eternal life through the resurrection of the dead.

(2.) Scriptures are read to invoke (i.e., invite, welcome) the presence of GOD; and to petition (make request) for divine resources. In addition to pleas for acceptance of the dead into the divine presence, the needs of the surviving loved ones are addressed including comfort, direction, guidance, healing, strength (emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual), and reaffirmation of their own condition as saved believers. See Romans 15: 4 and 2nd Corinthians 1: 3-9 King James Version.

(3.) Scriptures are read to reestablish awareness of divine truths held among believers that are powerfully contradicted and opposed by bereavement, separation, and loss of loved ones. Included are praises, prayers, proclamations, promises, prophesies, and thanksgivings. Men are easily convinced that death is real, because multiple devices of the flesh dominate human awareness. Appetite, sensation, and mental functions such as desire, recall and thought, are all engaged. By contrast, apprehension of eternal life comes only when awareness is directed by the Spirit of GOD, and things otherwise invisible and unknowable must come into ones experience.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) GOD is a spirit. The holy writings convey and transfer divinity as spirit content in the form of words (i.e., breath, utterance). Included are aspects of the divine makeup such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering (endurance), love, patience, wisdom, and wrath against sin.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/29/2013) Both Born Holy?

Focus today is upon the differences between John the Baptist and Jesus Christ as sons from GOD that were born with the Holy Spirit. Also, there is more on Noah’s flood and the provisions of GOD to preserve mankind. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Chris” (Level 1 with 193 points, a member since February 2, 2010) posted the following:

If John the Baptist and Jesus Christ Both Born with The Holy Spirit?

John the Baptist, Son of Zechariah and Jesus Christ Son of Joseph, Both born with Holy Spirit then why Christians believe that Jesus is the only son of God.

THE BATTLE AXE: Destroyed in Noah’s Flood? (04/28/2013)—(6.) The task of supplying food for the variety of animals that would enter the ark was relatively simple because, prior to the flood, the food stuff provided from GOD for all living was the same, “every green herb.” Seed and provisions for agriculture and farming had been taken into the ark along with stores for food. Noah, his sons, and all the living creatures that left the ark were commanded by GOD to reproduce and to replenish the earth through lives centered in family, work, and worship. In the divine mind, family is to be a peculiar union of souls bound by shared goals and sacred purposes. See Genesis 1: 30 and Genesis 9: 1-17, KJV). (7.) The priesthood from Adam that was continued in Noah also centered in acknowledging atonement for sin through blood, and looked forward to the appearance of GOD in flesh to provide a final, holy cleansing. The sacred dynamics of faith, grace, and promise were a “life line” for the remnant that left the ark. In the same way mankind was to look above for the beauty of the rainbow, for cleansing of the waters, for winds to carry away from the living the continuing stench of the earth, and for divine healing of the soil, the mountains and the sky, all living were to look to GOD for grace, justice, and righteousness in covenant. See Genesis 8: 15-22, KJV. (8.) The work of recovery given to Noah could not be accomplished using the world’s wealth, credit and loans from the nations. The flood survivors were able to start because they were guided by experience, knowledge, memories and understandings they had acquired through the operations of GOD. Similarly, through the holy writings (not available to Noah), and through the imparted, indwelling Spirit of Christ, believers today are also granted a bright, clear vision that empowers their living and covers them as a shield in the face of condemnation, death, destruction, disease, opposition, persecution, threats, and upheaval. See Ezekiel 1: 27-28, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5: 33-39, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Divine Use of a Human Life? (04/23/2013); Quoting Scripture to GOD? (04/24/2013); Why Blood? (04/13/2013); Time Before the Sun? (04/14/2013); Before Abraham Was… (03/14/2013); Our Need for a Son (03/04/2013); Unless You Repent (03/05/2013); The Need to Purify Heaven (01/17/2013); Melchizedek? (12/22/2010); Free t0 Eat? (12/23/2010)

Chris, the question you have posed is one many mature Christian believers have carried before GOD through their prayers. Among the various satisfying truths we have received are the following:

(1.) The process of GOD for mankind must be progressive and temporal, and is intended for created beings and living creatures throughout the universe of GOD. Saying this another way, the revelation of GOD is continuous, eternal, and ongoing, and occurs in uninterrupted stages that prepare and lift from level to level those who have understanding.

(2.) The sending of prophets became an aspect of covenant relationship the day GOD spoke the law from Horeb, and the people in terror, petitioned that GOD would speak to mankind again only by human agents such as Moses. See Deuteronomy 4: 5-20, Deuteronomy 5: 1-7 and Deuteronomy 18: 15-22, KJV.

(3.) There are several examples of miraculous births (childbearing by barren women) before that of John the Baptist; and John is to be seen in both the tradition of the Judge Samson, the Priest/Prophet Samuel as well as the Prophet Jeremiah. The absolute authority and sovereignty of GOD over judgment, life, death and salvation are all signaled. See Jeremiah 1: 4-9, KJV.

(4.) Jesus is spoken of as the “only begotten” in the understanding that he is an appearance or incarnation of GOD in human flesh, and is not by fertilization, mitosis (cell division), and human reproduction. The birth of John is by the operation of the Holy Spirit through and upon flesh, while the birth of Jesus is by a deposit of divinity from the Holy Spirit within flesh. Mary, the mother of Jesus, had been specially chosen, prepared and set apart for divine service as child bearer and caretaker.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) Knowing Jesus was baptized by John, many who are not yet mature in their understanding ask, Who was John taught, anointed or baptized by? In the same way John was born into the priesthood of Levi, he was born to be the herald to the kingdom of heaven in Jesus Christ.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/28/2013) Destroyed in Noah’s Flood?

The destruction wrought on earth through Noah’s flood is today’s topic. Also, there is more on repentance before resurrection. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Clorox” (Level 1 with 102 points, a member since April 25, 2013) posted the following:

What happened to plants when Noah’s Ark was floating above the Flood?

Did they drown and how did they get reborn, like trees and things?

THE BATTLE AXE: Repentance Must Come Before Resurrection (04/27/2013)—(7.) The focus of final judgment is not placing blame and finding fault; and neither is the focus punishment or the recovery of sinners. Judgment is the further revelation of GOD whereby the full extent of divine righteousness is made known and visible as unchanging and eternal truth. (8.) Every one appears before GOD in judgment already sealed. In addition to the mark of the beast that many will receive as the result of their own human choices, men also become sealed through persistent anger, covetousness, envy, fear, lust, pride and violence. Once fixed in their spirit content, created beings and living creatures can no longer receive the repentance from their sins that must come by operation of the imparted, indwelling spirit of Christ. The regular processes of carnal living continue (e.g., aging, decay, growing older); however, possibilities for spiritual life such as baptism, rebirth, regeneration and sanctification are completely cut off. The major sealing events include apostasy (i.e., backsliding, falling away), blasphemy of the Holy Ghost, denying forgiveness to others, rejecting the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and physical death. Only those immortal, incorruptible, and having the seal of GOD will be allowed to enter or abide within the New Jerusalem.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. (Revelation 4: 1-4, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Noah, A Second Adam (03/25/2013); GOD Hiding in Plain Sight (03/26/2013); Put Every Man His Sword By His Side (01/01/2013); The Common Danger (01/02/2013); The “Lake of Mercy” (11/03/2012); New Covenant? (01/08/2011); Annulled? (01/09/2011); Lion of Judah (01/10/2011)

Clorox, here are some ideas that mature Christian believers have found useful when considering the flood of Noah:

(1.) The judgment of GOD against sin upon the earth was to be demonstrated by the destruction of all containing the “breath of life.” Purging the earth from sin, and removing all sin within the earth requires multiple sacred operations such as the use of death, burial or return to the earth, absolution, re-birth, and resurrection. The ark constructed by Noah was intended as a storage chest, not a boat or sea-going vessel, and was to preserve and protect the remnant of created beings and living creatures from the earth as the vessels of sacred law, divine spirit, and holy word.

(2.) The mixing of waters (e.g., fresh, rain, running, salt and standing) rendered them foul, poisonous, polluted, and no longer capable of sustaining life. Fish and even such water plants as kelp and seaweed were overwhelmed in the flood.

(3.) The power and rush of the flood waters snapped tree trunks as twigs, tore trees up from the ground with their roots, and dashed them together. Once the ground was ripped open, the soil was loosed and torn in great chunks. Also, boulders and rocks were hurled like darts and missiles.

(4.) When Noah and his family finally left the ark, the world they saw was a world in ruin (much like what modern TV news reports show for the survivors of cyclones, earthquakes and tsunami). In addition to the confusion of crevices, rocks, and trees, cadavers and carcasses of the dead were all about.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) In view of the darkness and horror they were confronted by, Noah and his family were not discouraged or disheartened. They had been prepared by GOD. The hard work of building the ark had continued for some 120 years. The daily chores of tending animals had included removing their waste. They responded to the assignment of cleaning and rebuilding the earth with faith, hope and joy. More than this, the Invisible GOD gave Noah a sign whereby his active presence could be known and recognized, and one that would rejoice and uplift the hearts of all living: the rainbow.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/27/2013) Repentance Must Come Before Resurrection

Focus today is upon whether one may repent at the time they appear in judgment, and there is more on the possibilities for humans to have binding contracts with devils. The “Yahoo Answers” writer using the ID “Matt” (Level 2 with 414 points, a member since March 28, 2013) posted the following:

When God Judges us after death and we have sinned.. will we have another chance to repent in front of him?

I know a friend who believes that…

THE BATTLE AXE: Not of Legal Age? (04/26/2013)—(5.) Devils do not benefit, defend, justify, protect, or serve the wicked. Because they have neither the mind of Christ, nor the mind of man, they are more likely to accuse, antagonize, attack, betray, and condemn the righteous, the wicked, and one another. No contract or covenant with any devil has legitimacy in the judgment of GOD.  Before the second resurrection and judgment of the wicked, the devil first is cast into the lake of fire. All sinners are then examined on the basis of their own sacred content, and the record of their own deeds written in the books of life. See Isaiah 28: 15-22 and Revelation 20: 6-15, KJV. (6.) Comparative studies of philosophies and religions are only safe where one is first anchored, centered and grounded in mature understandings that integrate and up-build ones defining spirit content. Otherwise, hopping between and among belief systems is inescapable self-destruction. See 1st Corinthians 9: 16-27, KJV. (7.) The devils promote a false equation that fun, joy and the full experience of youth, in fact, are the same as defiance, depression, lack of self-discipline, repeated failure, rebellion and sin. Deceivers insist that there must be such behavior as cursing and swearing, distrust, drug use, drunkenness, envy, fornication, intoxication, lying, faithless risk-taking, and violence. See 2nd Timothy 2: 22-26 and James 4: 1-10, King James Version. (8.) Neither angels nor devils carry on relationships with mankind apart from GOD. The account of Job describes the challenge and investigation of a man’s spirit substance that was carried out by Satan with the permission of GOD. As with plagues proclaiming divine judgment, and other displays of divine wrath against sin, all legitimate analysis and testing that comes upon mankind is in accordance with divine law, and continues to be under the authority of GOD. Christ has met all the legitimate demands of divine law that were against mankind; and while men have debt and owe one another in the economies of the World system, through the Son of GOD, mankind can never be indebted or obligated for its continuing existence to any other created beings and living creatures. See Revelation 19: 1-10 and Revelation 22: 8-9, KJV. (9.) The dark spirits that have lost their first estate can in no wise offer a future filled with light to mortal men. Devils are neither immortal nor mortal, and continue to exist by divine discretion, not by their own nature and substance. The devils have no part as joint-heirs with Christ, and will not be made immortal and incorruptible with believers harvested from the earth. The devils who have walked in the Garden of Eden, the Promised Land, and the courts of heaven, will never be allowed to set foot within the New Jerusalem. See Matthew 25: 41, Revelation 20: 4-10 and Revelation 22: 14-16, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9: 24-28, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: When Jesus Comes Back? (04/19/2013); What’s The Way Out (04/20/2013); After the Rapture? (11/01/2012); Opportunity to Repent (11/02/2012); After We Die? (10/04/2012); Does GOD Feel? (10/05/2012); Life and Death (09/26/2012); Mob Rule and Violence (09/27/2012); Chances for Change (09/15/2012); What He Died For (09/14/2012)

Matt, here are some points derived from the holy writings that are endorsed by many mature Christian believers:

(1.) The “final judgment” is accomplished in three stages. The first is ongoing (i.e., happening now); and is our most important chance, because it is the only one we are given. The present judgment focuses upon all created beings and living creatures who have ever participated in covenant relationship with GOD as well as those that presently exist upon the earth, and within the heavens. This first stage of judgment is completed through what is called “the first resurrection,” and the harvesting of the righteous from the earth.

(2.) Jesus has been appointed as the Supreme Judge over mankind, and will oversee all stages of judgment (see Acts 17: 29-31 and 2nd Timothy 4: 1-2, KJV). Satan does not appear as accuser, executioner, jailer, King of Hell, ruler of the underworld, or prosecutor. Before the second resurrection, Satan is cast into the lake of fire to be utterly destroyed; this is an aspect of what is called “the second death.” (See Revelation 20: 1-15, KJV.) In effect, sinners appearing before Christ are only challenged to display their spirit content, and their own record of spiritual deeds from the books of life.

(3.) The righteousness of judgment requires that all appear to answer charges against themselves that come from the record of their deeds. Therefore, all who are not resurrected from the dead at the Advent of Christ (also called “his appearing,” the Rapture, and the Second Coming) will be gathered in the second resurrection to appear as living before the throne of judgment. The second resurrection is also called “the resurrection of the wicked,” and gathers those who were not approved in the first stage of judgment.

(4.) The third stage of judgment follows the casting of the wicked into the lake of fire, and focuses upon distributing rewards for service to those who have been approved for eternal life. Only those raised at the Advent of Jesus, who have been transformed and are now immortal and incorruptible appear in the third stage of judgment. See 1st Corinthians 3: 11-15, KJV.

(5.) Repentance is not a “one-time” event, and is achieved only through operations by the imparted, indwelling spirit from GOD, the Holy Ghost. A pattern must appear within the record of ones life whereby the spirit content that was in Jesus is seen through the behavior, conduct and substance of those in judgment.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (6.) Prior to the coming of Jesus in the Advent, all upon the earth will receive a mark that seals the spirit content of their being so that their spiritual substance can no longer be altered, or changed. The unsaved will receive the mark of the beast in their right hand, or their forehead. Those belonging to Christ will be known by not having the mark of the beast. See Ezekiel 9: 1-11, Revelation 13: 11-17 and Revelation 22: 10-12, KJV.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/26/2013) Not of Legal Age?

Making contract with the devil to gain success in ones chosen career is the topic, today. Also there is more on maintaining the validity of ones belief system. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Dhruva” (Level 1 with 90 points, a member since April 13, 2013) posted the following:

How to make a deal with the devil in exchange for your soul?

well I play the drums and I want to be the greatest ever. like John Bonham and Keith moon and all. with my current skill set, I’m getting closer but it’s gonna take a while. so I read about this devil dealing and ****. found it pretty interesting. please gimme serious answers and no **** about goat sacrifices and all please. thanks

THE BATTLE AXE: Illusion? (04/25/2013)—(7.) Before becoming those who hold to Christian beliefs only, many who are now committed to Jesus explored and practiced using other systems, and ways of life. Included were such philosophies and religions as atheism, Buddhism, communism, cults, destiny, existentialism, fate, Hindu, idolatry, luck, occultism, prostitution, and superstition. Such converts continue as Christians because they, in fact, have found increased benefit, comfort, direction, and enrichment for their spirit life, and human experience. They set and attain various goals that engage their whole person (body, mind and spirit) in continuous and vigorous growth. Given these believers achieve higher and higher levels of spiritual insight, and sacred understanding they have no desire to return to the “weak and beggarly elements.” See Galatians 4: 8-9, Romans 6: 1-23, KJV. (8.) As a belief system, Christianity is not directed to acquiring property, amassing wealth, assuming authority over others, and attaining social celebrity, notoriety or popularity. The benefits from submission to GOD through Jesus Christ exclusively are for believers; and Christian belief absolutely guarantees there are to be no blessings to unrepentant sinners and those persisting in unbelief. Pride, self-justification and self-promotion oppose the integrity and soundness of the system. Christianity fosters such features as humility, industry, maturity, respect and sobriety, because believers are to serve as members of a holy priesthood, and to rule within a sacred community as righteous kings. See 2nd Timothy 2: 22-26 and Revelation 22: 11-15, KJV. (9.) Many who claim to be Christians continue in spiritual confusion because they do not insist on the purity of their own belief system. They are lost in a “no-mans-land” where their identity is that of a “mongrel”, and one whose substance is mixed and strange. At first, such persons appear as merely immature, or developing and learning slowly, when, in fact, they are not growing at all. By seeking to blend and integrate selected features from different beliefs; by compromise and tolerance of attacks, attackers and their contradictions; by clinging to and reviving the baggage of old associations with conflicting ideas; by “experimenting”; by “thinking outside the box;” and by relying upon incomplete knowledge, they resist the Holy Spirit and surrender their place as Christian believers to the World, the Flesh, or the Devil. See Romans 8: 8-10, Hebrews 11: 6, Deuteronomy 4: 27-31, Jeremiah 29: 11-13, 1st Corinthians 3: 11-15 and 2nd Timothy 3: 1-7, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. (Matthew 16: 24-27, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: According to the Eternal Purpose (11/20/2012); Henceforth, Of This Fruit (11/21/2012); Unexceptional Beginnings (11/22/2012); Sin Unknown? (10/10/2012); When Prayer Works (10/11/2012); Aliens? (09/24/2012); Prosperity Destroys Fools (09/25/2012); Life and Death (09/26/2012); Girdle 17: Try The Spirits (12/02/2011)

Dhruva, here are some serious points from a mature Christian believer that should be useful as you choose your spiritual path:

(1.) The devils have been stripped of all authority and power that would allow them to grant wishes in the earth realm. As the children of GOD in the earth realm, the offspring of Adam have “minor” status, and are not of “legal age” (so to speak), and may make no legally binding agreement with any devil. The devils not truly grasp the workings of divine law, and so, they continue to use such tools as ambition, fantasy, fear, ignorance, imagination, pride and sexual relationships to deceive, defile, entrap and victimize men. Saying this another way: Your contract would be automatically null and void.

(2.) No devil has foreknowledge, or may predict future events beyond what we also are granted as human awareness of the natural consequences, and usual course for various choices and events. As believers in Jesus Christ mankind is given foreknowledge through the sanctions declared in divine law, the proclamations and promises of GOD, sacred prophecy and ongoing sacred processes. Included are covenant, judgment, prosperity, rebirth, sanctification, and salvation.

(3.) True achievement comes by faith. Only the hard work of practice delivers the benefit of sure knowledge, confidence and genuine satisfaction. It is never how much you have, it’s only how much you enjoy what you have. To have billions without health, without love, is called misery and wretchedness. The poor live like kings by continually sharing the little as if it were a lot.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) The information you may have received encouraging you to sacrifice your humanity for earthly fame and fortune did not come from GOD as your maker and protector. The persons sharing such information are very likely false friends, are not themselves truly free, and are not wealthy enough to support your efforts to make it honestly. What does that tell you? The freedom to experience humanity—the good, the bad, and the ugly—is given only by GOD.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/25/2013) Illusion?

The World as a unique belief system is the topic today; also there is more on preachers quoting Scripture during their prayers. With regard to the Internet as a public forum, I’ve been specially pressed to share some of my thoughts in today’s presentation as a response to several comments upon recent postings. Writers “wirelessguru1” and “beelzebob” (that I first took to be Beelzebub—the fallen prince of devils defeated and sealed at the Cross by Jesus Christ—and resisted calling “beelzeboob”) in effect, offered to save me from my salvation in Christ, and release me from a state of gross delusion like that described in the Matrix series of Academy Award winning films (that introduced the “bullet” cinema filming techniques.) They have not heard me moaning and groaning, or complaining against the new life; and it must be their own sad experience of something other than Jesus that is fuelling their discontent. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Mr S The Goon” (Level 1 with 44 points, a member since April 22, 2013) posted the following:

Is life as we see it an illusion?

Are we just existing in a reality that society has created for us?

THE BATTLE AXE: Quoting Scripture to GOD? (04/24/2013)—(6.) The holy writings are understood to provide a vocabulary of sacred events, a shared language and shared truth that have been specially fit together and patterned by GOD to permit believers access to the Holy as shared awareness. As a common focus for GOD and mankind, the Scriptures are a necessary bridge over the fixed gulf of carnal and finite being. See 2nd Timothy 2: 15-16, 2nd Timothy 4: 1-5, 2nd Peter 1: 2-9 and 2nd Peter 1: 16-21, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1st John 2: 15-17, KJV)

Mr S The Goon, here are some ideas from a mature Christian believer that many have found useful for overcoming spiritual confusion. Often the problem is not with life or truth, it’s with our failure to accept and correctly understand it:

(1.) A belief system is a closed set of definitions, explanations and values that describe reality, and fosters a sense of control and wholeness for those operating within the limits that are put into place by the unique terms of the system. A believer may not go outside of the system for answers, correction, guidance, or inspiration; must not rely upon altered versions, fragments, mutations or partial presentations of the full system; must not introduce material from alternative and opposing systems that would contaminate, defile and profane their beliefs; and must trust that the system they commit themselves to is all-inclusive, authoritative, complete and finished.

(2.) The World System is real, and is a valid source of direction and meaning for human life. Called humanism, secularism, and society, the World provides necessary structure for human exchange, interaction and survival. Included are customs, institutions, language, professions, and traditions that generate rules for our experience of education, family, marriage, politics, science, work life, etc., etc., etc., etc. Mature Christians believe the earth (our physical sphere) is created by GOD, and acknowledge that the World is the creation of mankind.

(3.) In addition to the World, other real systems also foster human understanding of reality. The Flesh system is described by such aspects of experience as appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), and mental function (e.g., desire, fantasy, forgetting, imagination, thought). Both the Flesh and the World may determine and dictate what one understands as bad/good, deadly/life-giving, real/unreal, right/wrong, and useful/useless.

(4.) The Christian belief system also supplies ideas to describe and maintain human reality. However, in addition to viewing humanity as carnal, emotional, intellectual, physical, psychological and social, Christianity also acknowledges mankind as spiritual. GOD, the Maker of all created beings and living creatures, is a spirit; and has imparted aspects of himself to all Creation.

(5.) Achieving a clear, correct view upon life is very difficult, and requires discipline, focus, and maturity. Truth does not change, however our readiness to accept the truth does. Human living absolutely must go forward as change: we typically grow, increase, and learn. As the process of our living, most humans rely upon discovery, trial-and-error, risk-taking, and vicarious experience (every device available, even clutching at straws), and so there are multiple opportunities and sources for error, and misunderstanding of the truth.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (6.) In the Christian belief system, sin may dominate the awareness of created beings and living creatures, yet, has no influence upon GOD. Sin distorts and skewers human consciousness, and alters the application of self-will. Sin opposes the existence of divine law, divine person, and the entire universe of GOD. Hence, sinners go about to destroy society, and themselves.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/24/2013) Quoting Scripture to GOD?

The use of Scriptures when praying, and more on Joseph as the father to Jesus are topics, today. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Gino Hunter” (Level 4 with 2,716 points, a member since March 21, 2011) posted the following:

What is the purpose of preachers quoting scripture to God when they pray?

THE BATTLE AXE: The Divine Use of a Human Life? (04/23/2013)—The birth of Christ was to establish union for things that were completely finite, flesh and temporal within things that were eternal, invisible and totally Spirit. The Son of the Highest absolutely had to be brought into the world without the aspect of Adamic sin preserved within mankind by the flesh (i.e., appetite, mental functions, and sense), and accomplished without reproduction by human substance (we say, without fertilization, mitosis, and human DNA). Christ absolutely had to appear among the covenant people; and had to be acknowledged as a legitimate heir to those who had been set apart with Moses and Joshua, and had received a divine portion as their heritage. By the device of Joseph as an instrument of GOD in flesh, divine answer is made to multiple issues pertaining to covenant with Israel, the Levitical priesthood, and the status of Israel among the kingdoms of the earth. By his wanderings (Bethlehem, Egypt, Galilee, Nazareth), Joseph is both a figure of the nomad Abraham, who is called the Friend of GOD, and a figure of the twelve tribes of Jacob, who also were offered a unique, divine relationship. As a son of Adam, Joseph inherits the roles of trusted “caretaker”, husband, father, and servant to the Most High. In addition, Joseph is a son and spiritually legitimate heir to the throne of David (where King Herod is only politically legitimate).

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2nd Peter 1: 2-4, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: A Guide to Salvation? (04/10/2013); Faith, Language and “Mystery” (04/11/2013); Outgrowing Childhood Prayers? (04/07/2013); Confessing Only to GOD? (04/08/2013); Magick and Prayer? (10/29/2012); The Fear of GOD (10/30/2012); When Prayer Works (10/11/2012); Double Standard? (10/12/2012); Unanswered Prayers (09/11/2012); When You Pray (09/12/2012); Proving Truth? (12/24/2010); Lord of Sabbath (12/25/2010); Spirit or Word? (12/11/2010); Justification? (12/12/2010)

Gino, here are some points that many clergy and mature Christian believers would endorse:

(1.) For human beings, the personal relationship with GOD made possible through the ministry of Jesus Christ is carefully built up over time. By continuing to grow, learn and share, a believer experiences multiple layers of closeness, intimacy, respect and trust. Fellowship with GOD is different from companionship, friendship or partnership shared by peers, and is cast in terms of dependency more than interdependence.

(2.) GOD is a spirit, and must be acknowledged as active and present through operations of being, breath, and divine utterance. The sacred content of GOD is such substance as faith, glory, holiness, humility, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. These are inseparable, and where one appears, all appear.

(3.) GOD is present within human awareness through multiple devices, mechanisms and spiritual tools provided to accomplish sacred operations, continue ongoing divine processes, and fulfill eternal purposes. Included are birth, creation, death, judgment, rebirth, resurrection, revelation, and sanctification.

(4.) Because the holy writings document covenants, divine law, praises, prayer, proclamations, promises, prophecy and other divine utterances that express the “mind” and will of GOD, the Scriptures are trusted to provide successful and useful material for building ones relationship with GOD through Christ. In any case, correct relationship with GOD begins, develops and turns upon the sharing of divine substance.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) Where believers seek to make claims, or petition GOD for features from the inheritance of Jesus, they must first clearly understand that the bequest and heritage they are claiming is a consecrated priesthood. Like any inheritance, it may only be claimed lawfully. Believers must demonstrate their identity as joint-heir both in word and deed, for the legacy of Christ is one of spirit made visible in action, heaven made known in earth as well as flesh perfected by spirit.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/23/2013) The Divine Use of a Human Life?

The divinity of Joseph, and his place as a caretaker and father to Jesus are topics, today. Also, there is more on when GOD controls. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “War and Peace” (Level 3 with 1,814 points, a member since September 2, 2012) posted the following:

Religious people: Why Jesus? Why not Joseph, Jesus’s father?

Does that makes Joseph God??

THE BATTLE AXE: When GOD Controls? (04/22/2013)—(5.) Accountability and divine judgment are not matters of arbitrarily placing blame, or exercising ones personal preferences. It is senseless to ask “who are you to question” as though challenging an ordinary person like oneself. It is the law, ones conscience, the account of ones own deeds, truth, and wisdom that accuses, challenges, indicts, or pronounces guilt. Because all are challenged to answer the same divine standards, and the divine judge is grounded in truth and impartial, judgment is trusted to be absolutely righteous, and does not permit bias and prejudice. (6.) GOD may not be blamed for the actions, errors, and sins of created beings and living creatures. The mechanisms of awareness and self-will make it that every being is accountable for their own behavior and conduct. More than this, all living must answer for their own peculiar application and use of their divine endowment. Included are discernment, divine gifts, doctrine, opportunities, skills, spirit content, talents, and tools. Faith in GOD, or believing the Gospel, does not justify selfishness, self-righteousness or sin. Through Christ one is justified only in such features as their giving, their meekness, their obedience, their repentance, their reverence, their submission, and their testimony.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9: 6-15, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Children, not the Dogs (03/17/2013); Why Jesus Must Be a Jew (03/18/2013); The Benefit of Grace (03/19/2013); The Work of Jesus (03/13/2012); Signs of a Prophet (03/14/2012); Purchased With Blood?      Dear War and Peace, here are some points shared among mature Christian believers that may help you further build up your understanding:

(1.) The divine use of a human life to perfectly execute and perform the will of GOD upon the earth must be carefully fitted to a broad range of divine events, sacred operations and eternal goals. Included are covenant, Creation, revelation, judgment, death, rebirth, resurrection, salvation, and sanctification. The sacred needs of all created beings and living creatures are to be addressed.

(2.) GOD is a spirit and must be known upon the earth through breath, spirit content (e.g., faith, grace, holiness), truth, and utterance that registers as consciousness (we say, the word). Only GOD is GOD, yet, GOD may appear and function as different Persons.

(3.) The word of GOD has been received, documented and shared in the earth as law, praise, prayer, promise, proclamation and prophecy. Often, actions and events performed by GOD are described before they occur through the word, and are clarified and explained after their occurrence by the word.

(4.) In accordance with the word of GOD spoken and maintained in the earth, Joseph and many others among the Jews as a covenant people to GOD were used to prepare mankind for the appearance of the Almighty upon the earth in the form of a human being, Jesus Christ.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) Dynasty (i.e., royal secession), family lineage, inheritance and priesthood have been used as divine devices to fulfill and maintain the word of GOD to mankind. Flesh and spirit are both sacred tools in divine revelation.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/22/2013) When GOD Controls?

A believer’s place within Divine Person, “I AM” as the name of GOD, and getting free of spiritual confusion are topics, today. Also, there is more on kindness to Mary. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Republican catholic” (Level 1 with 0 points, a member since March 14, 2012) posted the following:

I am god so can you!?

If i let god into my heart does that mean i am god? In theory i could let god in me and control myself. If i do anything under the influence i can just blame it on him right? Who ARE YOU TO QUESTION GOD?

Additional Details

I mean let him control me.

i like to bend spoons when god controls me sometimes i do others thing some ppl hate but its gods choice they should respect that and thank me for giving them a chance to be close to god

THE BATTLE AXE: A Kindness to Mary? (04/21/2013)—(5.) In the same way respect to Jesus does not diminish or reduce the glory and honor to Almighty GOD and the Holy Spirit, and continues a believer’s acknowledgment of the authority and sovereign majesty of the Father, respect to Mary as the mother of Jesus does not conflict with or undermine ones faith in Christ, and takes nothing away from the glory of the GODhead. Typically, believers do not have complete and correct knowledge of sacred truth embracing Mary until they have made careful and detailed study. There are many subtle connections that must harmonize among the doctrines, the Gospel, and other teachings that are put forth; however, they all stand upon a single foundation, Jesus as the One Sent. (6.) In the public forum, many share their faith, or gospel (good news) thinking that every opinion is acceptable. They are surprised to find that even faith and “good news” must pass muster, and are evaluated and ranked according to fixed judgments that have been developed over many years, and tested within many cultures. Saying this another way: No childish insults, underdeveloped thinking, spiritual confusion, or vain rant may pass as benefit to others, comfort, encouragement, help, humility, kindness, mature insight, love, prophecy, religious belief, righteousness, understanding, or godly wisdom. (7.) From before the birth of Jesus there have been those who accuse Mary of prostitution, and question the virgin birth in order to justify their belief that GOD has not been righteous in covenant, has not fulfilled prophecy, and has not appeared in flesh. There were those who attacked Jesus to his face with those very slanders, and so we count it as “ancient evil.” Like many today, they sought to participate in a conversation regarding divinity that would be grounded only in carnal, material and social truth without also considering what GOD would speak about himself, his sacred operations, and his own divine purposes. Neither the things that offend GOD, nor the things that please him can be known and recognized by those who lack the holy spirit of life from GOD that should reside in every created being and living creature. One of the most distinctive features of mature faith is a reluctance to attack others, and a continuing restraint in dealing with errors and thrusts from those who are still developing. Mistakenly regarded as acceptance and approval of sin, it is an appearance of the peace that passes understanding. See 1st Timothy 6: 3-8, King James Version. (8.) Mature Christian believers obey a discipline that goes a long way toward eliminating gossip, slander and unkindness: Say nothing about anyone, even to GOD, that you can not say to their face. Where what you say will not benefit those you speak about, let it remain unsaid; and, do not talk about others, talk to them.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (John 17: 17-23, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Why Would GOD Worry About Us? (04/16/2013); How To Accept Bible Truth? (04/17/2013); About Preaching the Gospel (04/18/2013); Faith, Language and “Mystery” (04/11/2013); GOD Knows Tomorrow (04/12/2013); Evidence of the Unseen Spirit? (04/09/2013); A Guide to Salvation? (04/10/2013); Girdle 10: By The Breath (11/25/2011); Binder 7: The GODhead (10/04/2011)

Here are some points to consider that many have found helpful when getting free of spiritual confusion, and the destructive habit of bending spoons:

(1.) The phrase “I AM” appears in the holy writings to suggest the enormous breadth, depth and impact of divine existence upon created beings and living creatures. As a holy name whereby GOD is known and spoken of in the earth, casual use of “I am” is avoided. This is particularly so where a believer embraces covenant relationship with GOD, and the divine commandments to prohibit taking or using the name of GOD in vain displays.

(2.) The profound truth that GOD inhabits Creation cannot be correctly applied and understood apart from the ongoing operations of Divine Person deposited within the living as their anointing, or endowment. GOD is a spirit, and must be acknowledged through spirit substance and truth. Included are faith, holiness, humility, hope, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom and wrath against sin.

(3.) Clear standards for recognition of divine presence, sacred purpose, and eternal judgment have all been “published” and made accessible in the earth along with an incarnate example of glory, obedience and reverence, Jesus Christ. Divine law, proclamations, promises, and prophesies have been given such that there should be “no question” when identifying what is, and what is not, holy intent. See 1st John 5: 17, 2nd John 1: 9-11 and 1st John 4: 6-8, KJV.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) When the word of GOD continues to have a controlling influence within a person’s awareness, Christ is said to abide within. The believer in Christ has place within the fullness of GOD, who is spirit; and GOD, who is spirit, has more than merely a place as co-existing. By eternal union of Creator, created, and universe, the living become expressions of Divine Person and instruments of divine will, rather than their own self-will and the self-will of others.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/21/2013) A Kindness to Mary?

Faith, the purity of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and condemnation are topics, today. Also, there is more on the “way out” to escape eternal life. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “James” (Level 1 with 98 points, December 13, 2012) posted the following:

Was the “virgin mary” really just the town whore?

This would explain why she claimed “god” got her pregnant (which is 100% not possible unless god is human) since she didn’t know who really got her pregnant.

NOTE: Christians, yes, I know you’ll condemn me to hell.. YAY!

THE BATTLE AXE: What’s The Way Out? (04/20/2013)—(5.) The immutable, unstoppable act of GOD to eliminate corruption and mortality that was begun in ages past, absolutely must be completed and fulfilled on the earth and in the heaven. Many shrink away from eternal life with Jesus Christ because it is their faith that believers also will have to continually endure the fulfillment of prophecy, and witness the suffering of others in punishment. Theirs is another gospel, different from that of the Savior, who proclaims the end of all agony, divine displeasure, testing, and sin. See Revelation 15, KJV. (6.) It’s been said, You can’t lie your way into the Kingdom of GOD, you can only lie your way out. The blessings of eternal life may be refused both through practice of spiritual behavior and conduct that is unfaithful as well as through offenses that are unlawful. Those who deliberately and willfully break the divine law commit iniquity. Others operate as lawless by their attitudes and informal practices (e.g., faithlessness, unbelief). In addition to defiance, disobedience and offenses against divine law, such features as deceit, cowardice, ingratitude, infidelity, lying, obstinacy, pride, stinginess, stubbornness, lack of zeal, and witchcraft identify those having no endowment of divine substance through Jesus Christ, and reveals those having made a choice to reject covenant relationship, eternal life, and divine righteousness. Such human traits and weaknesses are accounted as being no different than sin, the transgression of divine law. See 1st John 1: 3-10, 1st John 5: 17 and Revelation 21: 7-9, KJV. (7.) Both those that refuse the mark of GOD, and those that willingly accept the mark of the beast will lose their portion in the eternal life of GOD. All will be sealed for identification, and for judgment; thereafter, ones spirit content and status in sacred relationship cannot be altered, or changed. Nothing may be added or introduced; nothing may be removed and taken away. See Luke 8: 11-12, Revelation 14: 9-12 and Revelation 22: 11-12, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1: 26-33, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Sin Against The Spirit (01/26/2012); When Does Gossip Become Sin? (01/08/2013); Understanding Hell (01/09/2013); A Need to Fear? (12/02/2012); Pornography from the Bible? (11/26/2012); More Than Salvation (11/27/2012); Mockers in the Last Times (11/14/2012); Thoughts Upon A Warrior’s Fall (11/15/2012); Binder 18: Eternal Life (10/15/2011); Dispatch 36: His Grace (09/15/2011); Blasphemy? (03/06/2011); In The Rain? (03/07/2011)

James, in a certain sense it does not matter who Mary was, what you believe about her, and your faith in GOD is uppermost. What you have asked, and how you have asked it, allows us to see who you truly are. Please consider the following points:

(1.) Like many of the girls you may have dated, Mary was young, unsure of herself, and seeking to make herself unattractive to the kind of man who would seek to exploit her as a sexual victim. As a mere teen, she continued in the poverty of a child (no employment, no income, no savings), and she was regarded with contempt as a female who had not born her first child.

(2.) Where men promote themselves as pimps, players, and whoremongers, they generally express a great deal of anger and bitterness against all women, their own mothers and grandmothers included. In communities where the positive acceptance and social status of a female is only through the achievements of their male partners (e.g., as homemakers, mothers to their children, wives), many women seek emotional and financial independence through prostitution. Lying is a natural tool in their response to male aggression.

(3.) The birth of Mary is spoken of as an immaculate conception (not the birth of Jesus), through the operation of the Holy Spirit. Her childhood and upbringing are recorded in the holy writings as having prepared her for the service she was to do for GOD, and mankind. Her title as “Virgin” is also through the operation of GOD, for she was the mother of Jesus and his siblings.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) One is not condemned to hell simply because they do not have “all knowledge.” Created beings and living creatures are condemned only by exalting their ignorance of the true teachings from GOD; ignoring admonition, correction, and warning; persisting in blasphemy and disrespect, as well as by growing in the hardness of heart that stands as unbelief.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/20/2013) What’s The Way Out?

Blasphemy, oblivion, perdition and salvation are topics, today. Also, there is more on when Jesus comes back. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “ê Orion ê Starchild” (Level 2 with 256 points, a member since June 1, 2009) posted the following:

What if you believe in J.Christ but don't want an eternal life? What's the way out?

THE BATTLE AXE: When Jesus Comes Back? (04/19/2013)—(6.) As spoken of in the holy writings, the “day of the Lord” comes as destruction from the Almighty, however, not upon those who are obedient and in submission to GOD. Called “dooms day,” “judgment day,” “day of vengeance” and “the Rapture,” the day of the Lord pertains to the righteousness of GOD made visible both as restoration of his covenant peoples, and execution of wrath against sin in holy judgment. See Isaiah 2: 12, Isaiah 13: 6, Isaiah 13: 9, Isaiah 34: 8, Ezekiel 30: 3 and Joel 2: 23-32, KJV. (7.) The day of the Lord is a prophetic event that signals the completion of various divine operations and sacred purposes. Believers receive the day of the Lord as a major occurrence within the full agenda for eternity, a centerpiece of the divine time tables and scheduling of sacred events for salvation, and a final assurance that Christ will have union with his Bride, the New Jerusalem. See Malachi 4: 4-6, Acts 2: 17-21, 1st Thessalonians 5: 1-3, 2nd Peter 3: 5-14, Revelation 3: 11-13 and Revelation 21: 1-3, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1st John 5: 10-12, King James Version)

(03/07/2011)

Dear Starchild, here are some points to consider that many mature Christian believers would endorse:

(1.) The “way out” of eternal life is called judgment, damnation, perdition and the second death. There are many who mistakenly think that their choices are oblivion, or perdition. Oblivion is preferred as a quiet end to everything without further pain, punishment and torment. One loses all consciousness, and all things cease to exist, including GOD. For this reason, its opposition to the continuing action and presence of Divine Person, the desire for oblivion is recognized as emerging from sin, the immaterial influence upon self-will in created beings and living creatures that opposes divine law, the existence of divinity, and the continuance of all that is the Creation.

(2.) Perdition is what follows as the natural and unavoidable consequence of opposing the divine will, and repeatedly raising ones self-will above that of the Creator. Requiring divine materials and sacred processes, perdition is the absolute elimination of all created beings and living creatures opposing the divine will, exalting self-will, or lacking imparted substance from the Divine Person. Included are such sacred content as faith, forbearance, holiness, humility, joy, longsuffering, love, righteousness, wisdom and wrath against sin.

(3.) The existence, purpose and substance of created beings and living creatures appear as the discretion, imperatives, and prerogatives of the Almighty. It is a matter of choice and “free will” for the living only in the sense they may acknowledge and conform to frameworks and limitations established from GOD.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Many seek to blaspheme and rebel against GOD believing they will face no consequence, or painful outcomes. Like those who mock the church, and antagonize believers seeking to corrupt the faith and obedience of others, blasphemers usually insist there is neither eternal life nor perdition. “By default” as those who seal themselves in a spirit of unbelief (i.e., irrevocably shut out the spirit from GOD), blasphemers choose damnation, and refuse the third alternative—the choice of salvation through the ministry of Jesus Christ.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/19/2013) When Jesus Comes Back?

How to “survive” the Second Coming, and more about preaching the Gospel are topics, today. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Chris” (Level 1 with 22 points, a member since April 15, 2013) posted the following:

If Jesus comes back what should I do?

Is there anything I can do at that point to survive?

THE BATTLE AXE: About Preaching the Gospel (04/18/2013)—(5.) Many believers hesitate to spread the Gospel in the sense that they “wait” to be invited. They are silent in their communities, schools, and workplaces because they hope to avoid accusations of imposing upon nonbelievers, proselytizing, and provoking division. More than this, they are convinced the seed of GOD must not be wasted, and should be planted only in good ground, among those who are meek and teachable. Even so, all men have not faith (2nd Thessalonians 3: 1-3), and all men have not obeyed the gospel (Romans 10: 16). Also, see Proverbs 26: 17, Proverbs 29: 20-21, Matthew 7: 6, Matthew 23: 15 and Matthew 13: 1-23, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Romans 10: 4-11, King James Version)

Chris, here are some points acceptable to many mature Christian believers:

(1.) The Advent or Second Coming is a sacred event to complete and fulfill a broad range of ongoing spiritual operations and eternal purposes. Included are deliverance for mankind from destruction of the earth; harvest and ingathering of souls; righteous judgment; and the revealing of GOD to all created beings and living creatures.

(2.) The idea of “survival” is a device of the World system, whereby a person is influenced to display patterns of behavior and thought that continue cooperation to secure and exchange such resources for living as food, clothing, and shelter. The World is displayed through collective institutions and programs that include culture, education, family, history, philosophy, politics, and science. Where the World defines bad/good, crazy/sane, false/true, godly/ungodly, illogical/logical, real/unreal, reasonable/unreasonable, scientific/unscientific the World also endorses denying, ignoring and replacing the truth from GOD. Thus, Christian believers understand: GOD created the heaven and the earth; mankind created the World.

(3.) GOD and Jesus Christ are operating within the earth realm to establish the eternal existence of divinity. While all created beings and living creatures contain endowments of divinity, through self-will and sin, many have become transformed and weakened so greatly that a process of salvation has been required for their recovery.

(4.) What believers are prepared to do in the day of Christ’s coming is to acknowledge the truth of divine proclamations, promise and prophecy; confess the emptiness and impotence of the World; give glory to him; rely upon the righteousness of GOD; show honor and praise; trust; yield; and worship. At that time, there can be no bargaining, bartering, begging, or boast.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) The repentance that must occur to make a person ready for the day of Christ has to begin while they are still carnal, physical and social beings—we could say, while they are yet sinners. As the experience of new life following spiritual re-birth, repentance is accomplished within and through believers by the Spirit of Christ; and is a continuous process of growth, learning and transformation.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/18/2013) About Preaching the Gospel

Topics, today, include preaching the Gospel and how to accept Bible truth. By the end of April 2013, I will be displaying more than 625 categorized and tagged daily blog articles posted at eternalphnx.wordpress.com . The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Steven” (Level 1 with 107 points, a member since April 16, 2013) posted the following:

Why do Christians fail to preach the gospel?

Church is not for you it is for the lost yet it says become a place for Christians to gather and forget to find others.

THE BATTLE AXE: How To Accept Bible Truth (04/17/2013)—Accepting the divine truths of destruction and perdition for the wicked is inseparable from embracing the Gospel and good news of mankind’s salvation through Jesus Christ. (One can not “separate the wet from the water,” so to speak.) In addition to faith, believers must receive balance, “divine distance” (we say, detachment or perspective), longsuffering, wisdom and wrath against sin, that establish neutrality, objectivity and zeal in judgment. All “feelings” of being bullied or victimized by GOD are completely replaced by realization of the great weight upon GOD as sovereign above a universe under threat by sin. The imperfect, self-interested, short-lived and temporary solutions to sin that have been proposed by created beings and living creatures are immediately understood as improper, inadequate and unacceptable.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. (1st Corinthians 1: 18-29, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: My Sheep Hear My Voice (03/08/2013); Wanting To Have Our Way (03/09/2013); Hellfire and Brimstone Preaching (12/27/2012); The Dove (12/28/2012); The Focus of Judgment (12/09/2012); His Burden is Light?      Steven, here are some points that may be new to you that come from an older Christian’s point of view:

(1.) All believers are not spiritually endowed or equipped to preach. The many needs of the spirit body (we say, church and congregation) demand a variety of gifts through the imparted, indwelling Spirit of Jesus. Included are consolation, giving, government, healing, hospitality, miracles, prophecy and teaching.

(2.) All Christian believers are “born again” from divine substance (sacred DNA, so to speak); however, all are not yet mature and perfected. Once “born again” there are challenges to be met and “growing pains.” There must be continuous life experience, growth and acquisition of sacred knowledge. For this reason, forbearance, longsuffering, patience, mutual respect and sharing are practiced as vital within every congregation under the Headship of Jesus.

(3.) Rightly understood, the “foolishness of preaching” is more than a verbal presentation on religious subjects. It is an operation of the Spirit of GOD wherein the divine agent determines both what is uttered, and how utterance is received as spiritual awareness within the hearers. The human actors (both preacher and listener) must submit as an instrument of the Spirit having no personal agenda and private objectives.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) the Gospel of Jesus Christ is more to be shared as a non-verbal display of holy living (we say a practice of sacraments) than as a speech in a public forum. Christ is to appear active and alive upon the earth through the commitment, dutifulness, faith, flesh and bone, reverence, service and worship of every believer.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
