(01/19/2013) It Is Finished

THE BATTLE AXE: A Godly Take on Guns (01/18/2013)—Going beyond the surface, the practical issues demanding control for guns and ammunition also entail many important spiritual challenges. Guns and ammunition have become the tools of those who kill, maim and murder, therefore, there must be more focused control of their manufacture and distribution as well as specifications for their legitimate use. Were paper clips and rubber bands to be widely used as life-altering, life-destroying devices, they too would have to come under regulation that could identify and limit those stockpiling, owning and abusing their various privileges under the law. Our private and public lives cannot be held together by a glue of deception, fascination, fear, and idolatry that exalts death, vengeance, and violence. Those committed to Christ are directed to live in mastery over fear, and are given precious promise (see 1st Corinthians 10: 13-15, 2nd Corinthians 10: 3-5, 1st Corinthians 15: 20-26 and 50-57, KJV). Because the very thought of firearms and weapons still triggers fear of death, giants in the Promised Land, and the now fundamental fear that nations cannot survive without an A-bomb, the need for faith and its proper application is now echoing throughout our Nation, like a silent cannon fire. The pursuit of law, nonviolence, order and peace is by no means a “death wish,” or desire for martyrdom. Rather, it is the further petition for eternal life expressed through balance, godliness, humility, love, obedience, respect and sobriety. As a child, I was taught gun safety, marksmanship, and regard for human life. I always expected my Father in heaven would trust me to faithfully serve him with at least three handguns, two shotguns and as many as three automatic weapons. Instead I was given sacred knowledge, testimony and spiritual truth. Because I may not do so legally, in surrender to Christ and to civil law, I do not own any firearms at all; and my defense must be of GOD. There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/18/2013) A Godly Take on Guns

With others of various faiths across our Nation, since the birthday of citizen Martin Luther King, Jr., who advocated nonviolence as a standard for all our living, I have been prayerfully reflecting upon the President’s proposals regarding our Nation’s gun laws. Through ill-advised application of and emphasis upon our principles that encourage separation of Church and State, there is increased denial of divine authority and sacred law, disbelief, dismissal and lack of faith, with increasingly widespread ungodly public behavior. (The principle that should have prevailed most is that of Checks and Balances where the contributions of both Church and State would be continually blended.) America has arrived at a peculiar “bottom line.” Our children, our federal leadership, and our citizens who are committed to nonviolence are again forced to make passionate appeals that empathy and reason be shown by their less likeminded countrymen who manufacture, distribute, own, and use firearms. Once again, I have become sharply aware that, where GOD is not acknowledged as Head for the Chain of Command, there are no “god-given rights” that include liberty to vote, maintain families, bear arms, or own lethal weapons. The persistence and popularity of idolatry and whoredom are not enough to establish them as the righteousness of a people. To insist that there be “freedom” that allows those who are godless and wicked to abuse the conscience of a nation is absurd. Seeking to share what my Savior has now impressed upon me and other defenders of the Nation and its Capital, I am posting today’s blog entry (below):

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. (Psalms 33: 12-22, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: GOD in Schools? (12/20/2012); Mob Rule and Violence (09/27/2012); Dispatch 32: Now Will I Rise (09/11/2011); Dispatch 26: The Shield (09/05/2011); Things? (11/13/2010); Mealtime Grace (11/14/2010)

The issues of responsible gun-ownership and access to firearms have become more than one of haves versus have nots—men and women coveting exotic and expensive things; some promoting knowledge and skill through partiality and prejudice; or some having personal pleasure, pride and satisfaction as a collector and owner of property that is not available to all. Accountability, purpose, and trust are now issues of gun legislation; and, for this reason, there is a threat to the health of the Nation; and the present public concern is also a sign of divine displeasure. Our home has become a place where insistence upon “privacy” and “rights” does not encourage and permit strict acknowledgement of duty and responsibility; and this threatens to become an undoing of our national covenant. Americans are now living in a nation where elected officials are not free to attend public gatherings and social events without putting their lives at risk, and being in jeopardy of assassination. Children in day care or public school classrooms may be targeted by deranged adults, and enemies of the State. The President of our Nation, and his family, have been under threats of assassination and murder, since he formally became a candidate for the Office.

The time has come that we must admit: Gun ownership is not a “god-given right” for Americans, and this is particularly so for those who have forfeited everything “god-given” through their disbelief and ignorance of GOD. Those who insist that people are not free, or are not full citizens without a gun are liars. Such betray their ignorance of our public contract for Nation: In the absence of “divine law” and covenants from GOD, the “law of the land” is the agreement and consensus that a group of people will continue together as a “commonwealth.” To the dismay of many gun advocates, apart from addressing the needs of the commonwealth there is no legitimate need for gun ownership described in the law. In fact, the Constitution and other public covenants assume and imply that gun ownership is for personal and national defense, rather than unlicensed hunting and unregulated recreation. With this unspoken aspect of our national pact in view, all militias are to operate openly, are under authority of the Nation’s Commander and Chief, and are in an agreement as reserved forces that are to buttress and support our active military. Certainly, in a national emergency, those that would not rally to the Chief Executive, and would challenge him as a dictator, a hypocrite, or a tyrant may reasonably be identified as fomenters of rebellion, sedition and treason.

The present proposals focused upon assault weapons and their ammunition are lacking. To limit the size of gun magazines without limiting the frequency and numbers that may be purchased (e.g., no more than 4 clips every 3 months) is as vain as selling weapons without firing pins, and expecting American owners to honor the law and not to rearm and refit such weapons. Also, the stockpiling of weapons (e.g., 3 of a kind, 10 different kinds) is superfluous, and is not yet being properly challenged. The detailed inventory for all arsenals within our communities of 5 or more weapons should be known to both local and federal law enforcement.

As those appearing to embrace a false god for protection of their lives and property, the gun owners of America increasingly speak as those who worship an idol. Where a man values his dog, his job, his truck or a sports team, and declares he cannot live without them, or treasures them more than his wife, his children, his parents and co-workers, his homeland, he may call himself a believer in some religion, however, his inner spirit is caught up in a disguised form of idol worship. It is no different from those who claim to be Christian believers, yet do not obey Christ (see Ezekiel 33: 30-33 and Luke 6: 46, KJV). Those claiming to be Americans who deny the truth of our national consensus are liars. No matter what false claims they may now make, those not in national covenant with us are not Americans. They may be predators, outlaws, gunslingers and desperadoes, however, they are not fellow citizens, and should not be trusted as genuine Americans.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, idolatry and worship of false gods are characterized by exploitation, fear, pride, and self-promotion. Where there are repeated efforts to exalt some dead and lifeless thing that contains no divine substance, love (the motive to unselfishly benefit others) is suppressed or only given “lip service.” Foundations for the quality of life, and the valuing of human experience become questionable and shaky. In the place of love, combativeness, competition, and a mentality and attitude of refusing to respect any that cannot employ force and violence naturally develops.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/17/2013) The Need to Purify Heaven

The work of GOD to purify heaven is topic, today, with more on the things accomplished by believers through the person of Jesus Christ.   The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “shortiduwop” (Level 1 with 108 points, a member since June 18, 2010) posted the following:

Why would God need to purify heaven?
this comes from the note in 2nd Peter 3:13

THE BATTLE AXE:  Accomplished in Christ (01/16/2013)—For Abraham, circumcision was a mark in the flesh of a man that depicted humility before GOD, and trusting obedience.  In Jesus Christ, the nail prints in his hands, the imprint from thorns upon his forehead, and the place where he was wounded in his side are the marks in flesh depicting humility, obedience and unselfish love.  The holy blood of Jesus fulfills all offering and promise to GOD from mankind, and from mankind to GOD.  Christian belief is coveted, despised, envied, feared, hated and rejected by many around the world, because Christian belief goes beyond passive doctrines that describe mankind as covered by Christ.  The Gospel is also understood as declaring that, in Christ, mankind is endowed, sanctified, and exalted:  Therefore, there are many Christians who strive to employ divine authority, participate in sacred processes, and enjoy godly privilege.  Christians are known to preach and practice self command and discipline, exorcism, healing, identifying sin, judgment, prayer, rebuke of the devil, and warning against all ungodliness.  The principles of spirit life and unity through covenant make it that sacred experience, insight and wisdom for a single person among those in commitment to Jesus Christ is shared by all the members of the body.  (See 1st Corinthians 12:  1-31 regarding gifts to believers through operation of the Holy Spirit, and the prayer of Jesus prior to crucifixion at John 17:  13-24, KJV.)  Through Christ and the Holy Spirit, believers in GOD may claim to be absolutely invincible having a spiritual victory over appetite, death, ignorance, sin, suffering, time and space that can never be annulled, reversed or undone by the confusion, doubt, lack of faith, or unbelief of others.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,  Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.  Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.  It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.  For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:  Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;  For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:  but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.  (Hebrews 9:  19-28, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  More Than Salvation (11/27/2012); Son of Man (11/28/2012); Entered Into Heaven (02/07/2012); Poem:  “The Magician:  Franco Gaskin” (02/08/2012); The Place for Prayer (01/17/2012); Girdle 14:  Reasonable Service (11/29/2011); Jesus, King of Earth? (10/07/2012); Work in Heaven (11/22/2010); Rewarded? (11/23/2010)

The place of divine presence that we speak of as “heaven” is made defiled and unclean through the operations of sin.  Sin is no material or physical thing, has not been created or fashioned by GOD, and is no spirit substance from the person of GOD.  Even so, sin was first discovered among the holy angels, and later became a continuing aspect of human existence upon the earth.  While sin is no “thing”, and has no concrete form, sin is described as having direction, effect and presence.  The will of Almighty GOD is not subject to sin; however, the self-will of created beings and living creatures may be influenced and dominated by sin.  Because sin is no living entity, and cannot be said to “exist”, its elimination requires a broad range of divine operations and processes.

Divine cleansing from defilement, and removal of profanity are only through sacred devices that include water, blood, death/rebirth, fire, judgment and the second death.  As the primary conveyance that transfers life to all the parts within the living, blood flows and pushes against corruption and decay, flushing uncleanness from any object or person.  Fire decomposes the makeup of objects, unfixes their cohesion and integrity, and separates the elements of their composition often producing a residue of smoke and ashes.

The Tabernacle of Moses, and later the Temple at Jerusalem, depicted objects and practices that were being carried out in heaven.  Because the process whereby mankind was to have access to GOD was altered to include the offering of sacrifices for atonement of sin, the place of acknowledgment and worship (spoken of as a temple in heaven) became unclean.  More than this, the Sanctuary, and Most Holy Place of the heavenly temple (spoken of as the “mercy seat” and “seat of judgment”) has required a deep cleansing and purging (i.e., an inner washing) by application of holy blood.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, even when one speaks of “heaven” as being the atmosphere, our sky, and the envelope of the earth, there is severe air pollution, corruption of the ozone layer, and a need for refreshing that is no longer possible through the mechanisms of rain, snow and other natural precipitation.  Divine action is being taken to make the earth and heaven fit as the home of beings that are immortal and incorruptible.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/16/2013) Accomplished in Christ?

Topics, today, include circumcision, and both natural and spiritual benefits to mankind through the ministry of Jesus.  Also, there is more on contradictions.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Joshua” (Level 2 with 256  points, a member since October 25, 2012) posted the following:

Jesus has been circumcised, why do Christians not do the same ?

The circumcision is the tradition of patriarchs and prophets since Abraham (pbuh) that God commanded him to do it. Following this commandment, all Jews and Muslims are circumcised.

Jesus, the god of Christians, also has been circumcised under the approval of his mother Virgin Mary which is beyond any reproach.

So why do Christians not do the same ? Why do they not follow their god ?

THE BATTLE AXE:  No Contradictions? (01/15/2013)—Bits from a 5,000-pieced jigsaw puzzle may appear not to belong in a given grouping because of their color or the image they bear, nonetheless their place can be easily discovered as they are fitted together with the pieces whose shape indicate they belong on one of the edges.  The holy writings are a single source for knowledge and understanding among those seeking GOD in Christ.  Not only are the many details and unrecorded truths of Scripture impossible to comprehend without guidance and help from the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD, believers cannot correctly embrace the many continuing experiences of sacred truth that come by giving, practice of the sacraments, prayer, unselfish service, and heartfelt worship without the continuing ministry of Jesus as Risen Lord.  Saying this another way:  Just as sworn testimony from multiple eyewitnesses in judgment may not be exactly the same, or agree word for word, yet jurors may account the statements under oath as truth because of agreement and corroboration, believers must examine and assign value to the full dispensation of GOD by focus upon accord.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  (John 8:  31-32, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Vows and Covenants? (12/17/2012); Fasting “After the Spirit” (09/19/2012); Binder 30:  The Mark of GOD (10/27/2011); (08/31/2011) Dispatch 21:  The Ally (Sometimes); Annual Feasts (12/29/2010); Conspiracy? (12/08/2010)

Mature Christian believers typically accept that the divine demand for circumcision goes beyond a cutting of the flesh (see Deuteronomy 30:  6, Jeremiah 4:  4 and Romans 2:  28-29, KJV), and speaks to the content and makeup of ones spirit in relationship to GOD.  The many special truths that emerge by the ministry of Jesus upon the earth include:  Incarnation (the appearance of Almighty GOD in a human body); fulfillment of all divine promises for an heir to Adam that would restore the dominion of mankind over the earth (that had been transferred to the serpent); satisfaction of all demands for oblations and sacrificial blood (e.g., atonement, burnt offerings, thank offerings, trespass and sin offerings); and obedience to all divine law for the natural and spirit worlds that would generate and reinforce faith, miracles, repentance and sacred revelation.  (See Galatians 2:  20 and Romans 6:  4, KJV)

Just as believers may account themselves as redeemed and saved because of things physically done by Jesus, Christians may also hold that they are now present in heaven before GOD through the resurrected person of Jesus (see Colossians 3:  1, KJV).  This notion (often called “living vicariously”) can be understood easily where we acknowledge that, as fans, we rejoice or are sorrowed as though we ourselves were spoken of when we hear reports about our favorite athletes and celebrities whom we follow (despite being strangers to them) as “family” and  loyal supporters.  It is sufficient that believers are circumcised in the person of Jesus.  Similarly, believers are “credited” as having accomplished 40 days of fasting and prayer in the wilderness, so many in the church do not fast, today; Jesus attended all mandatory covenant feasts required of the eldest, the firstborn and heads of families at both the Tabernacle and the Temple at Jerusalem, so this is discontinued; Jesus correctly participated in, and shared the Passover, so that now Christ is received through the Lord’s Supper (called Communion); and the judgment of our enemies is going forward and will be completed through Jesus Christ, so grudges and revenge are no longer reasonable motives.  (See Colossians 2:  8-13, KJV.)

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, covenant through Jesus Christ is to secure levels of spiritual reality for mankind, and therefore, goes beyond creating and maintaining a geopolitical nation or a society subject to death, sin and time.  Through Christ there is the end of mortality; and upon the close of divine judgment against sin, only immortal and incorruptible beings will continue in what is called “eternal life.” )  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/15/2013) No Contradictions?

Again, contradictions in the Bible are a topic, and there is more on why believers are used to speak for GOD.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “religion to rational” (Level 3 with 1,155 points, a member since June 1, 2012) posted the following:

Why do some people think that there are no contradictions in the Bible?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Why A “Spokesperson”? (01/14/2013)—There are many things from GOD that believers must learn, and their instruction must be clear, direct and plain.  Through the use of human agents, GOD has demonstrated a divine purpose to bridge, and eventually remove, the gulf that presently continues to exist between the Creator and the created.  The Scriptures record pleadings, questions, reflections and responses by men and women to acts and pronouncements from GOD describing every level of economic, political and social life, from farmers to statesmen, from paupers to kings.  These all have used language and references that are sufficiently familiar and easily understood that the average person seeking answers from GOD may immediately connect, and recognize that many of their own fears, feelings, observations, questions and views are being spoken.  The full spectrum of human concerns have been addressed through the mechanisms of apostles, elders, covenants, husbands/wives, judges, kings, law, judgments, nations, patriarchs, priests, prophets, and warriors.  The contemporary tool of the church clarifies all that has gone before, and will continue the presence of Jesus Christ and his Gospel to the very hour of his coming in glory.  There is no “disappointment” for those having discernment as if GOD were absent or away, for the vessels of true divinity are, in fact, abundant and plenteous.  In modern America, gangs and other structured social groups are often all over our communities.  However, they usually lack the spiritual discipline, focus, insight and maturity that allow men and women to serve as balanced and effective examples, students, or teachers for the things from GOD.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.  But ye have not so learned Christ;  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.  (Ephesians 4:  17-24, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Contradictions? (09/21/2012); The Spirit by Measure (09/22/2012); Reading Only The Red Part (11/19/2012); According to the Eternal Purpose (11/20/2012); To See With New Eyes (11/06/2012); A Life Companion? (11/07/2012); Prophecy Fails? (03/15/2011); Bible Benefit? (03/16/2011)

Where readers approach the holy writings as generated from GOD, having been produced through the faith of others, or as spiritual documents that convey content and substance that are divine, they continually operate in the terms of their own faith and spirit content, rather than academic and intellectual routines that emerge from our animal nature and that are tainted by “human error.”  Saying this another way:  They use spiritual rules for growth, learning and understanding in the place of secular rules.  This is no different than not using the rules of baseball when playing cricket (even though both speak of using a bat).

One does not instantly achieve the ability to correctly realize sacred meaning and value within scriptural writings; and the spiritual maturity that includes discernment, insight and recognition for accord and harmony does not come over night.  There must be growth that comes by sacred practice such as giving, observance of sacraments, prayer, and unselfish service.  These create a “vocabulary of shared experience” that unifies believers, and illumines scriptural truth.  More than this, the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD makes visible otherwise “unseen things,” and supplies what otherwise would be “missing links.”

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, contradictions in Scripture are only important where blindness, ignorance and spiritual confusion are common and widespread.  There have long been those who carefully research the Bible to find contradictions, rather than to have a full grasp that would allow them to spread the Gospel.  Just as human logic and reason are not enough to eliminate criminal behavior in society, declaring contradictions are not enough to comprehend and eliminate sin, or to lay hold upon divinely provided salvation.  As humans, men are made up of mental, physical and spiritual elements that must be nourished and maintained in a peculiar balance for there to be health, prosperity or understanding.  Therefore, the careful study of Scripture by believers in Jesus Christ is primarily intended to discover accord and agreement, not contradictions.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/14/2013) Why A “Spokesperson”?

The divine use of agents and intermediaries is the topic today; and there is more against Confusion 2013. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Terry” (Level 1 with 148 points, a member since December 14, 2012) posted the following:

Christians, if god really existed wouldn't he be the one telling me, not you?

THE BATTLE AXE: Confusion 2013 (01/13/2013)—Rightly understood, GOD is NOT a man; however, the correct declaration of who and what GOD is (1) must proceed from GOD, (2) must acknowledge that mankind is in the image of GOD, and (3) must respect that the person of GOD embraces all that mankind was, is, and ever shall be. The immortality, incorruptibility, and sovereign majesty of GOD make it that GOD is, in fact, exalted and separate from mankind. Even so, in the manifesting of divine grace, GOD has become knowable and recognizable to all Creation. Truth is the only foundation for trust; however, faith is the only foundation for right relationship with GOD, where faith is an aspect of divine person that may be imparted to created beings and living creatures. Rightly understood, faith is inseparable from such other features of divine makeup as grace, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, purpose, wisdom and wrath against sin. Sacred truth and correct understanding of the holy writings will not be “common knowledge” until after the close of judgment. They are aspects of an inheritance only given through the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD to those who believe, and who accept the duty, obligation, and privilege of priests and kings through Jesus Christ.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. (2nd Corinthians 5: 19-20, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Hero or Zero? (12/04/2012); Signs of a Prophet (03/14/2012); The Rules for Sharing Christ (03/15/2012); Girdle 27: The Glory of Love (12/12/2011); A Healing Word (01/13/2011); Romance? (01/14/2011); Prophets? (10/28/2010); Speaking of GOD (10/20/2010); Eat and Run? (10/21/2010)

Your question is one most believers in Jesus have asked at some point in their spiritual growth, and prayer life; and what many really wanted to say was, Why doesn’t GOD answer, and speak to me when I need him. The following is not as “well spoken” as I would like, yet, I think it may help clarify some points:

There are several sacred processes used by GOD to make divinity known and visible to created beings and living creatures. In addition to Creation itself (see Psalm 19: 1-14, KJV), there are such provisions as covenant, forgiveness, judgment, law, prophecy, redemption, resurrection, revelation and salvation. GOD has made promise to those who are his people (through the assembly that gathered with Moses) that he would not again speak directly to mankind using an audible voice. Given shortcomings and sin in the lives of men, the voice of GOD ignites fear and spiritual confusion (see Genesis 3: 8, Exodus 20: 1-22, Deuteronomy 4: 9-20 and 32-39, KJV).

The appearance of GOD in human form (we say Incarnation) has been absolutely necessary for the reconfiguring of the earth as well as the renewal of heaven. The enigma of sin challenges the existence of our universe, for sin opposes the existence of divine law, divine person, and all that is. Sin was first realized in heaven among the holy angels, and later was discovered upon the earth. Sin is not created by GOD, yet, may dominate self-will in created beings and living creatures. While sin is not a spirit, has no material or physical being, lacks dimension, and has no sacred content, sin nevertheless has direction, effect and presence. None living can eliminate sin, for (in effect) sin is no thing, and does not exist. Divine will is not subject to sin; and through Jesus Christ men may receive endowments of divine substance to reinforce the provisions for our being that were established at Creation. Without the operation of GOD, mankind cannot correctly discern and recognize sin, or resist sin’s erosion of human willpower.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, when petitioning for access to GOD, various issues of self-awareness, trust and understanding demand resolution. There is an advantage to being in fellowship with others who have been granted readiness and preparation by their access to the holy writings, and their continuing practice of things from GOD. For balance and completeness, in addition to spirit substance from the Person of GOD (e.g., faith, holiness, humility, longsuffering, wisdom, wrath against sin) there must be elements from human substance as well. By all being held in the common bonds of humanity, compassion should be amplified along with confidence, cooperation, and insight upon the human condition.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/13/2013) Confusion 2013

Blasphemy, slander, wordplay and spiritual confusion come into view; and there is more on law, murder and sin, today. A “Yahoo! Answers” Top Contributor using the ID “Devoted to Truth” (Level 3 with 2,028 points, a member since October 7, 2012) posted the following:

The Bible says “God is not a man” & Jesus called himself the “Son of Man”…?
So which man did Jesus mean? Yep, I just proved Jesus isn’t the son of God, you can thank me later Christians.

THE BATTLE AXE: Why So Much Murder? (01/12/2013)—The enormity of divine forgiveness, love, mercy, righteousness, and understanding of the anguish felt by all created only become clear for mankind when viewed against the dark and ugly backdrop of human deeds, death, and punitive judgment. The beauty and blessing of sacred law is “invisible” and understated without there also being graphic display of human error. The law does not “predict the future,” however, by stating the consequences for violations, the law gives a sense of what is likely and probable. The awareness that must be established within mankind must go beyond the aspects of flesh: appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual arousal), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, touching), and mental functions (e.g., desire, imagination, recall). Many never realize they have made a mistake until after they have taken action, and they have to be told. Because their error was committed without forethought or malice, we say “it was by accident;” and their knowledge of truth must come by correction or reflection. In pride, once told they have erred, many refuse to acknowledge they are wrong! (Knowing it would be a mistake, action should not be taken; the mistake should not exist, and should never be made.) Had those offending known in advance the outcome of their choice, they could have avoided unpleasantness. Cautions and warnings ignored, or not taken seriously always result in damage, injury, loss and pain. Murder usually may be classed as iniquity (i.e., imbalance in covenant; deliberate and premeditated pursuit on a path of error and sin). Murder derives from aspects of animal nature such as fear, self-centeredness, self-promotion, and self-will, and may never be described as obedience to sacred law, or a correct expression of the divine will. An executioner is a legitimate officer of the court; and carries out the sentence of judgment in accordance with lawful processes grounded in truth. The assassin may be an agent of a state, operating in accordance with priorities for its national security. Similarly, a warlord or leader of battles (some say king), operates under the “will of the people, ” and this allows for no personal or private agendas to kill. The holy writings document the absolute need for judgment among created beings and living creatures; and the absolute need for judgment makes it that there is an absolute need for a righteous judge. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is taken as an assurance that he has been appointed as the most qualified to preside over all judgment (Acts 17: 30-31, KJV).

THE GOLDEN ARROW: From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. (Matthew 16: 21-27, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Firstborn, Higher than Kings? (12/18/2012); The Ascension of Christ? (12/19/2012); The Price of Humanity? (12/13/2012); Remembering the Holocaust? (12/14/2012); Son of Man (11/28/2012); Given the Cloud of Witnesses (11/29/2012); How Was GOD Known Before Jesus? (10/06/2012); Jesus, King of Earth?       Most educated Christian believers now understand the divinity and humanity of Jesus without spiritual confusion, because the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD bestows ability to receive the language of the Scriptures in accordance with divine purpose. The phrase you have taken out of context, butchered and sought to use for mockery, “God is not a man,” speaks to divine substance and integrity that cannot be known among created beings and living creatures except through the operation of GOD.

Your error regarding the Incarnation—the ability of GOD to appear in human flesh (or any other form)—fails to embrace the simple ideas shared among children in the true church: the sovereign being and substance of GOD is spirit, and we must worship him in spirit and in truth. GOD is known (recognized) as active and present through aspects of sacred content and sanctified process. Included are authority, faith, holiness, humility, judgment, life, love, redemption, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the phrase you chose to portray as false declares that GOD is NOT a liar. Your blasphemy saddens mature believers, for they see you in a terrible predicament, that is likely to become worse. You and all you love are in jeopardy. You may have to give greater thought to what you are saying, and reexamine your need for repentance that comes only by the operation of GOD in us.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/12/2013) Why So Much Murder?

Justice, murder, and sin are considerations, today, along with more on the “rebirth” and the language of salvation. “Wheelchair Warrior” (Level 2 with 421 points, a member since November 21, 2012) posted the following:

Why is there so much murdering in the Bible if God doesn't want us to sin?

There is so much killing and stuff. It's just wrong! Why would God write this down and make it his book that he wants everyone to read. I remember this one part where this guy snook into a house and killed a fat guy and hid his body in the toilet and then ran. What the hell God!

THE BATTLE AXE: Translation, Please… (01/11/2013)—The language of baptism is as necessary as that of rebirth, for its focus upon cleansing, death, resurrection and new life is vital to full gospel truth. Almighty GOD engages created beings and living creatures as Creator, as Savior, and as Judge. It is not a minor point that the complete revelation of GOD is also through inclusion and scrutiny using sacred processes of divine judgment. The dynamics of deliverance from sin by death; the unveiling of righteousness and mercy; and the eternal elimination of sin for everlasting life must come into view through such events as the first and second death, the first and second resurrection, and the first, second and third judgments.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? (Psalm 118: 5-6, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Put Every Man His Sword By His Side (01/01/2013); The Common Danger (01/02/2013); Vows and Covenants? (12/17/2012); A Need to Fear? (12/02/2012); On Seeing Jesus Serve the Poor (12/03/2012)

Just as there are many things regarding divinity that would be otherwise unknown to mankind, there are many things about human makeup and the nature of reality that are documented for those who will make careful study of the holy writings. The Bible is most correctly seen as a collection of truths intended for those serving GOD, and those voluntarily in covenant as his people. The priesthood receives its knowledge in accordance with peculiar practices, promises, and purposes.

Those having a knowledge of GOD through such spirit content as faith, hope, love, wisdom and wrath against sin are more prepared to discern and more easily recognize the operations of GOD in spite of sin that characterizes human events. Even so, all must require repeated exposures to truth just as babies must hear “mama” and “dada” many times before they are internalized, sounded, and correctly applied. Angels, men and other created beings and living creatures are subject to sin; yet, sin is no material or physical thing that exists. Awareness and correct knowledge of sin is provided from GOD through divine law; and substance from the person and will of GOD must be imparted to the living that allows identification of sin, and resistance to sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, more than surface realization that sin is common and widespread among mankind demands a distance and perspective supplied only by GOD. The Bible allows readers to have GOD’s point of view (thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years) where sin is a problem on a cosmic scale, for sin opposes all divine law, the existence of GOD, and the continuing existence of all created.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/11/2013) Translation, Please…

Some ideas regarding language from the holy writings that speak to rebirth, and more on Solomon is presented, today.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer, “David G” (Level 5 with 7,787 points, a member since August 25, 2007), posted the following:

Should “born again” have been translated “born from above”?
Keep in mind that your bible is a translation from, hopefully, the manuscripts.
Additional Details
When did God create your soul? This age, or the one before this one?

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Golden Age? (01/10/2013)—As with most figures in the Bible, only part of the life, person and history of King Solomon serves as a sacred manifestation or type depicting the things from GOD for mankind.  Solomon is credited as having written more than a thousand adages, maxims and proverbs.  However, the wisdom documented in the Proverbs is to be seen as the wisdom of GOD from the covenant people to their leadership along with the wisdom of GOD from the leadership of the covenant nation for the people, and divine wisdom through the covenant people for all mankind.  Many find the Song of Solomon (also called “Canticles” and the “Song of Songs”) one of the most difficult readings from the word of GOD.  Modern readers do not immediately endorse, or feel a connection with the prophetic language and symbols used to express gratitude, love and passion toward GOD, toward the Messiah that would be sent, and toward the temple (i.e., Church) that would be established.  Solomon, the representation of Christ, is seen in contrast to Absalom, Adonijah, Amnon, Rehoboam, and all the other sons of David, who all fulfilled only carnal and fleshly expectations.  Because none fulfilled the divine aspects of the sacred promises to David, this meant that another should be expected.  When Jesus appeared as an heir to David, celibate, lowly, and meek, yet, a son of GOD, Jesus was “a new creature” totally unlike any son of David that had ever been born.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.  And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.  (1st Peter 1:  22-25, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  “Soul” Food? (12/06/2012); Holiday Displays? (12/07/2012); A Text for Lives Today (11/25/2012); Pornography from the Bible? (11/26/2012); Before the Fruit? (11/10/2012); Seeking and Being Sought (11/04/2012); The Gospel not Logical? (09/16/2012); Unwelcome Gifts? (09/17/2012); Jealous, Not Crazy (08/10/2012); The Divine Tool of Death (08/11/2012); The One Unseen (02/03/2012)

Many mature Christian believers agree it is not any academic or literal translation of the words that appear from the pages of Scripture that is most important; rather, it is a person’s discernment, recognition, and understanding of the spiritual substance hidden within the Scriptures that is the most important thing.  Thus, one of the most significant approaches used in the ministry of Jesus to affirm peculiar doctrines appears through the Savior asking, How readest thou? (see Luke 10:  25-27, KJV).  The imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD may give utterance, and the believer’s response may be fashioned, not merely as agreement.  Instead, the hearer is encouraged to share belief, praise, proclamation, and prophecy.

“Born again” and the language of rebirth conveys the profound reconfiguration of human existence while continuing to locate mankind upon the earth (the creation of GOD), and in the world (the creation of mankind).  The importance of flesh as an aspect of the various spiritual processes for salvation more readily comes into view.  Included are gestation, regeneration and sanctification.  There must be development and growth of human being and personness that derive from divine substance (we say, divine DNA); and the operation is one that both employs, and works upon flesh.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, to say “born from above” is not incorrect, for human understanding requires that fundamental spiritual truths must be repeated many times (like “Mama” and “Dada”) before they are finally internalized, and properly applied.  There must be a continual acknowledgment of the separation of mankind from the Creator, a distance that results from the exalted nature of GOD as well as from the operations of sin.  Also, there must be continual acceptance of the revelation of GOD Incarnate through the person of Jesus Christ as the profound outreach of GOD to the created.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/10/2013) The Golden Age?

The reign of Solomon is the topic, today, and there is more on understanding the doctrines and teachings on hell. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Sleeping Beauty” (Level 1 with 11 points, a member since November 25, 2012) posted the following:

Why did Solomon bring the golden age of Israel instead of King David?

greatest king

THE BATTLE AXE: Understanding Hell (01/09/2013)—Hell is no place in divine order that compares to earth or heaven. As an aspect of what happens to the dead (from dust thou art, unto dust thou shalt return), we may think of hell as beneath the surface of the ground, and as being the earth itself. However, that does not begin to fully explain what becomes of ones spirit. There are no created beings, living creatures, or living spirits in hell. Even for clergy and mature believers it is very difficult to harmonize the many details and subtle truths that are the full doctrine of hell provided by the holy scriptures. It requires growth to higher levels of faith, and may take years of prayer and careful study. The difficulty is increased by the errors of those who do not believe in Christ as their savior, error from those who are practicing deliberate deception as servants to the Devil, and error from those who mean well and are misinformed, superstitious, or spiritually undereducated. Many promote the belief that hell is the place where Satan rules over sinners. However, that and similar ideas derive from powerful impressions made by amusements, entertainments and popular culture. Examples include folk tales, opera, and poetry such as “Paradise Lost,” Dante’s “Inferno” and Goethe’s “Faust.” In the same way the things recorded in the holy writings are not intended as a detailed biography of any person’s life, or a comprehensive history of human events, the Scriptures are not intended to explain the full details of birth, death, life, or damnation. The Scriptures provide peculiar frameworks and outlines that allow men to apprehend revelation and reassurances from GOD. GOD is not the author of confusion; and the goal of understanding is achieved only through diligence, endurance, love, and truth, never through bullying, deception, fear, or presumption.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. (John 18: 36-37, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Root of Jesse (01/03/2013); Newness of Spirit? (01/04/2013); Son of Man (11/28/2012); Given the Cloud of Witnesses (11/29/2012); The Priesthood of Kings (10/17/2012); Childlike Faith (10/18/2012); Lion of Judah (01/10/2011); Rich Yet Saved (11/11/2010)

May I share some thoughts:

Many speak of King Solomon as having brought the “Golden Age” because during his reign the Temple at Jerusalem was begun and completed to serve as a permanent house of GOD that would replace the mobile, temporary shelter that was the Tabernacle fashioned under Moses. The Ark of the Testimony acknowledged as the judgment seat of GOD was separated from the Tabernacle during the reign of Saul; and the priesthood for the descendants of Aaron came under a curse through Eli and his sons. The anointing granted to David, and the inheritance to his heir, was therefore that of judge, king, priest and prophet.

Solomon is lauded as having completed many domestic projects to improve life within the nation. Included were the building of cities and stables, the establishment of trade and labor agreements with other nations, and a reputation for wisdom among other monarchs and rulers. During the reign of Solomon there was peace with most of the surrounding nations that repeatedly had waged war against Israel, including Egypt, the Moabites, and the Philistines. At least in part, this peace was the result of treaties for marriage: Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, under Solomon taxation was held to be extreme. When Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, came to the throne, Rehoboam refused to make any gesture or promise of relief. The Unified Kingdom was immediately dissolved, with 10 tribes electing to follow Jeroboam, a fugitive from Egypt, and only 2 remaining to the House of David.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/09/2013) Understanding Hell

Hell as the place of the dead is topic, today, along with more on when gossip becomes sin. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Alex” (Level 4 with 4,588 points, a member since October 7, 2012) posted the following:

I do not understand. Do people go to hell until revelations?

Well in revelations it seems to me people die and their soul gets sent to hades/sheol or death not hell. Then people are judged and thrown into the lake of fire which is hell. So right now when people die they do not go to hell in christian theology?

THE BATTLE AXE: When Does Gossip Become Sin? (01/08/2013)—Guided by the Scriptures, Christian speech is recognized by hope and plainness (2nd Corinthians 3: 11, KJV); by its content of doctrine, knowledge, prophecy and revelation (1st Corinthians 14: 6, KJV); by its prophetic purposes (comfort, edification, and exhortation) 1st Corinthians 14: 1-4, KJV; and by its love (1st Corinthians 13: 8-13, KJV). In general, Christian speech is intended to share confession of faith, healing, instruction, personal testimony, spirit content (such as holiness, humility, joy, longsuffering, righteousness and wrath against sin) as well as impartial witness. By contrast, gossip and slander are characterized by betrayal of trust; desire for distinction and personal power; exaggeration; exposing secrets; flattery, guile and trickery; pride; innuendo; seduction; and lack of concern for consequences and damage to others. (See Psalm 36: 2, Proverbs 13: 5, Proverbs 26: 17-28 and Proverbs 29: 10, KJV.) Truly Christian speech may include utterance by the Holy Spirit; and repeatedly encourages growth, life, praise, and giving thanks to GOD.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1st Corinthians 15: 50-58, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Place for Eternal Life? (01/06/2013); Therefore There Was Trust (01/07/2013); The Common Danger (01/02/2013); The Root of Jesse (01/03/2013); A Golden Ticket? (11/30/2012); And This Was Good News (12/01/2012); A Partnership? (11/05/2012); Doom (09/20/2012); Contradictions? (09/21/2012); Visions of Heaven (03/22/2012); Does GOD Need Worship? (03/23/2012)

Some of the most difficult teachings for Christian believers are those that speak of hell. In part this is true because hell is not a physical place, and the “remains” of the dead are not only their lifeless bodies of flesh. More often than not, the teaching we receive comes from other persons, has been made very simple, and cannot clearly convey the full spiritual truth. For example, we are often told that hell is the grave (the place of burying); however, all who died are not given a formal funeral, and are not buried in the earth or at sea. Even so, the deceased are all said to be in hell. When describing hell as the place of torment, the dead are repeatedly spoken of as if they have awareness, feeling, and sensation—that is, as if they are alive. Also, the witness of John, who was granted visions in heaven, reports the souls of them that were slain for the word of GOD, that cried out from beneath the altar. These were not fully restored and resurrected; yet, are not easily spoken of as being in hell (see Revelation 6: 8-10, KJV).

The Spirit of GOD that now leads men in spiritual understanding of divine intent encourages us to focus more upon eternal life than upon the state of the dead, or the state of the damned. There are many things in the fullness of Creation, and the reality of a universe maintained by sovereign GOD, that will always be outside of experience and knowledge for created beings and living creatures (Deuteronomy 29: 29, KJV). What we are given centers in divine law, the Gospel, and judgment in accordance with law and the gospel.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, what you seem to call “the revelations” is the harvesting of the earth that others call Advent, the Second Coming, and the Rapture. This is not “the end of the world.” The events prophesied and described in Scripture that speak of the first and second death with judgment before the thrones of GOD—the raising of the dead, the final destruction of sinners—pertain to continuing Creation, and fulfillment of divine intent that there be eternal life.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/08/2013) When Does Gossip Become Sin?

Harmless conversation, gossip, “judging others,” and slander are topics, today, along with more on the obedience of Abraham when commanded to sacrifice his son. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “purplestars” (Level 2 with 389 points, a member since May 8, 2011) posted the following:

Christians: when does it become gossiping....?

So you come home from school/work and you start complaining about an acquaintance of yours who's been treating you wrongly. You tell them everything they've said/done to you and say things like 'He's so annoying' and 'I can't stand him' etc.... Is this gossiping? It it a sinful conversation?... Or are you simply sharing your life with your family?

When does it become a sin? Opinions please!

THE BATTLE AXE: Therefore There Was Trust (01/07/2013)—Christian believers, today, receive the account of Abraham willing to sacrifice his son Isaac as an important type that clarifies promise and salvation from our Creator through the judgment, suffering and death of the Incarnate person of GOD, Jesus Christ. A ram was discovered entangled among thorn bushes, and served as a substitute provided by GOD to replace the living boy. Given his position as heir to the priesthood and the promises from GOD bestowed upon Abraham, the obedience and submission by Isaac (the son) may be seen having as great significance as that of Abraham (the father), who is called “the Friend of GOD” (see James 2: 23 and 4: 4, KJV). Intimate knowledge and relationship to GOD are through faith, a totally divine substance residing in the fullness of the Divine Person. Faith is inseparable from such other aspects of divinity as holiness, joy, love, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. While believers receive necessary increases of faith through the imparted, indwelling Spirit, they only come into consistency and mature understanding by practice, repetition, and self-regimen over the course of time. Many sacred experiences and years of spiritual growth may be required before one routinely operates with faith having the focus and power seen through Abraham and Isaac. The apostles who were chosen as witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus all had lived with him on a daily basis, had been eyewitness of his ministry and miracles, and received the Comforter at Pentecost. Those simple men could work as church-builders, preachers and teachers because they had gone through intimate experience to impart and nourish faith. Now, a spirit from GOD that always has been a part of created beings and living creatures, that would occasionally visit and leave selected persons, has become an abiding presence that will remain in all believers. Therefore there is trust.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (Matthew 12: 33-37, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Mockers in the Last Times (11/14/2012); Yet If I Judge (09/05/2012); Father Forgive (09/06/2012); About Being Friendly (03/09/2012); Faith Establishes Law (03/10/2012); (08/24/2011) Dispatch 16: The Ally (Wounded); Respect? (01/02/2011); Not Accepted? (01/03/2011)

Sharing a “factual” report that describes another person’s behavior is not automatically an attack upon their character and reputation that would encourage listeners to deny cooperation, opportunities, privileges or respect to the person who has been spoken about. Also, requesting ideas and alternative responses from others is not the same as soliciting judgment. Even so, because we realize that what we say, and how we say it (using facial expression, gestures, body language and movement), are easily misinterpreted, taken out of context, and applied beyond the limited scope of a speaker’s intent, we “silently” agree to be careful, and restrict our speech. The lines among hints, insinuation, “unfounded accusations,” persuasion, and false witness are subtle (i.e., barely detectable; nearly invisible).

Where the name “Satan” is held to mean “adversary”, the word “devil” is defined as “one who slanders.” To slander is to “bad mouth” someone in their absence (we say talk about them “behind their back”), and is called “character assassination,” gossip, “muckraking,” “murmuring,” “digging up dirt” and “whispering.” Given the intent and purpose of such behavior is to damage and hurt another, those who practice slander are accounted as servants to Satan. As such, they are the source of deceit, lies, and misinformation. While they promote their thrusts against another as righteous indignation and divinely directed judgment, unrighteousness characterizes their effort. Almighty GOD goes so far as to raise the wicked dead that they may respond to their only accuser in judgment, the record of their own behavior and deeds. (Satan, the accuser of the brethren, already will have been cast into the lake of fire, the second death.)

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the person we would gossip about is the person we should pray will receive life-changing benefit from GOD. Believers should never speak about another person what they won’t speak to them face-to-face. The same discipline, tact, and skill they would use to avoid making someone angry, combative, insulted and provoked when speaking to them in private is to be used when speaking about them in public. Saying this another way, what you may not say when praying to GOD requesting that another person have benefit—that is, when showing love—is better left out of mind, and unspoken.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/07/2013) Therefore There Was Trust

Abraham, faith, obedience, and the challenge to sacrifice ones children are a focus, today. Also there is more on where eternal life will be lived. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “ryan” (Level 1 with 160 points, December 29, 2012) posted the following:

If god tells me to kill my kids, should I?

In religion, you believe without reason/evidence. So, you follow rules for no reason. So, would you kill your kids if the invisible man told you too. In a religion based on faith alone, should you follow any crazy thought you have?

THE BATTLE AXE: The Place for Eternal Life? (01/06/2013)—There is no place where Satan will rule eternally.  Hell (the depository where those having completed mortality remain until divine judgment) and the lake of fire (a divine tool to terminate the existence of created beings and living creatures) pertain to death, and not to eternal life. Hell is linked to the first death, and the lake of fire to the second death. Hell is no eternal place; and there will be no eternal life in hell. The lake of fire is no eternal place; and those given to the flames burn until they exist no more, and the fire goes out having used all its fuel. The righteous from the earth will be taken up into heaven. However, mankind’s stay in heaven will be of limited duration. Following the Rapture, where the righteous both dead and living are taken up, those belonging to GOD in Christ will be prepared, and participate in judgment of the wicked. Upon completion of the second death, whereby the wicked are eliminated within the lake of fire, the deeds of all the righteous, who are all now immortal and incorruptible, will be examined. The distribution of the Promised Land (called “the Rest”) was through the sacred casting of lots; for the New Jerusalem, the believers will be rewarded with a portion in the holy city, and upon the new earth, according to their former works.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.       Because they themselves lack mature faith and understanding, every believer in Jesus Christ as redeemer and savior is frightened and shocked when they first hear an account of Abraham being challenged to sacrifice his son Isaac. They fail to see, misapply, and overlook many important truths. Included are: (1) Before being asked to sacrifice his son, Abraham had more than 50 years of experience in a real relationship with GOD, therefore there was trust; (2) GOD repeatedly blessed and prospered Abram to become a wealthy man despite his unstable, nomadic lifestyle, therefore there was trust; (3) GOD had appeared to Abram in a form that could be known through flesh, therefore there was trust; (4) Abraham lived for decades with the truth that his wife would never bare him an heir, and GOD fulfilled his word to the pair that they would have a son, therefore there was trust; (5) Abraham saw that what GOD takes away, GOD is able to restore, return and increase, therefore there was trust; (6) GOD allowed Abraham to rule a household that was the size of a small town having more than 300 men who could bear arms with their women and children, therefore there was trust; (7) GOD allowed Abraham to intercede on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah, pleading they be spared on condition of their repentance, and gave Abraham his word, therefore there was trust; and (8) Abraham believed it is possible for GOD to bestow eternal life upon created beings and living creatures, and to restore the dead to life in resurrection, therefore there was trust.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, no Christian believer (especially not those having weak, underdeveloped and untried faith) is asked to serve beyond their level of preparation and understanding. What cannot be given freely or shared as an unselfish benefit to others (i.e., an act of perfect love), has no value to Christ, to his church, or to the Father.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/06/2013) The Place for Eternal Life?

The earth made new as the place for eternal life is considered along with more on reading the Old and New testaments. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “BRANDON S” (Level 3 with 1,363 points, a member since December 15, 2007) posted the following:

We hear of Heaven as being the place for eternal life, so?

what does it mean in Psalms 37:11 "But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalms 37:22 "For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off." and Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth." When is this inheritance of earth going to happen? And if the meek are inheriting the earth, who is going to heaven? Is Heaven going to be on earth in a restored Garden of Eden?

THE BATTLE AXE: Two Different Testaments? (01/05/2013)—Rightly understood, the Bible presents a single covenant proclaiming two testaments from GOD. The first and second pledge for a “promised land” were as testament to establish geopolitical nations that would be in intimate relationship with GOD through divine law and promise. The testament established through the blood of Jesus Christ is to set up an eternal, spiritual kingdom in the earth made visible now as the church (see Jeremiah 3: 14-16 and Ephesians 2: 1-22, King James Version).

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21: 1-4, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Meek Will Inherit (10/16/2012); A Man in Heaven? (09/23/2012); Aliens? (09/24/2012); A New Earth (02/14/2012); Issues of Judgment (02/15/2012); Binder 18: Eternal Life (10/15/2011); Having Life? (03/13/2011); End of Strife (03/14/2011); Prophecy Fails? (03/15/2011); Meek Abram (10/17/2010)

The Scriptures indicate that the place for mankind throughout eternity is the earth, not heaven (Isaiah 45: 18, KJV). Mankind has polluted the earth, and the earth must be purged and made new for a people that will be immortal and incorruptible (see Isaiah 24: 1-6, 65: 17-25, and 66: 22-23, KJV.   Also, consider again Proverbs 10: 30 and 2nd Peter 3: 7-14, KJV).

That the dwelling place of GOD, and the Temple of High worship will not exist in the earth is a “great surprise” written in the Scriptures as prophecy. The New Jerusalem, the Bride of Christ, the City of GOD, will have no Temple (Revelation 21: 22-23, KJV), and neither the moon or sun will give light, there. When Jesus comes to receive the harvest of believers from the earth defiled by sin, he will not touch the ground. Believers are caught up to meet him in the air, and will ever be with Christ, first in heaven, then upon the earth made new (1st Thessalonians 4: 16-18, KJV). This is called “the first resurrection.”

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, “meek” means responsive to the Holy Spirit, and teachable by GOD. Those who will live in the new earth must first be prepared. Their preparation will include participation, service in, and witness of the judgment for those taken from the earth in the second resurrection.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/05/2013) Two Different Testaments?

Whether Christians should continue reading the Old Testament is considered along with more on Sabbath keeping by those having newness of spirit in place of the law. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “acid cat” (Level 3 with 1,288 points, a member since May 9, 2012) posted the following:

Are Christians not supposed to read the Old Testament in the Bible?

I was raised in a Christian household, and I was always told that we were supposed to read the WHOLE Bible, because it is all God's word and so on and so forth.

Obviously, I'm not into all that jazz, but just recently I keep seeing people who say that the Old Testament in the Bible is for Jews. Therefore, Christians don't follow, the uh, the Old Testament. Just Jews.

I'm super ignorant when it comes to religion, so any help would be appreciated. It would kinda make sense to follow all of the Bible, as it seems it's all from God. But I don't get why Jews get the Old Testament, and Christians get the New one.

Thank you in advance! :)

THE BATTLE AXE: Newness of Spirit? (01/04/2013)—Believers are not saved by Sabbath keeping (i.e., the works of men), however they are cleansed, refreshed, and set apart for fellowship with GOD, and divine service (i.e., sanctified). Understood as an aspect of being and existence residing within the fullness of divine will, the Sabbath is eternal, and is more than simply a period of time, and a measure of temporal duration. The change a believer undergoes from being energized and motivated to acknowledge the Sabbath by law to being ignited and sparked through holy wisdom and zeal is so all-encompassing that we speak of it as dying to sin and the world while being reborn to GOD. The new spirit imparted from GOD that accomplishes re-birth within believers also deposits divine intent, sacred purpose, sovereign understanding, and a self-will that conforms to hallowed law. The motive to unselfishly benefit others (called “love”) dominates awareness; and is inseparable from humility whereby awe before GOD is translated into submission, obedience, conviction and commitment. As carnal realities and operations of the flesh, celebration, rejoicing, rest and worship are not the same; however, as manifestations of the Spirit from GOD, the four are one in their nature and sacred content. Divine law given to provide knowledge and awareness produces the same Sabbath keeping as obedience to law by faith; a single divine Spirit produces the gifts, fruit and sacred substance of the Sabbath. For the believer walking in newness of Spirit, freedom and reconciliation through Christ does not mean what once was sin and wickedness have become pleasing to GOD; nor are the first things of eternal righteousness now deprived of power and value.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 31: 31-37, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: A Golden Ticket? (11/30/2012); And This Was Good News (12/01/2012); The Old Testament and Parables (08/12/2012); Reading Only The Red Part (11/19/2012); Repelled by the Bible? (08/13/2012); Marriage and Civil Law (08/14/2012); Support For The Bible (03/11/2012); Idols of Flesh (03/12/2012); New Covenant? (01/08/2011); Annulled? (01/09/2011); Holy Writings? (11/02/2010)

Here are some ideas that may help:

The sameness of the old and new testaments (formal declarations by a living owner regarding the lawful disposition of an estate or inheritance; a contract to transfer duties, obligations and property) derive from their shared existence as devices to portray the same, single, invisible, unchanging GOD.

The holy writings that we call the Bible and Scripture are collections of eye witness reports and testimonies provided as evidence in judgment. Many different human events, themes and topics are recorded; however, the intent of all is making divinity known and understandable, and revealing the action and presence of GOD in the experience of mankind. As a result, material appears that addresses divine purpose, miracles and wonders, sacred processes, and the specific elements of right relationship with GOD for all created beings and living creatures.

Covenant with GOD as our Creator—a continuing relationship generated through faith, grace, law and promise—is established and maintained through individuals as well as through nations. The word of GOD spoken to the serpent in the Garden of Eden allowed Adam and Eve to view themselves as having a promise from GOD, and the earliest covenant providing a foundation for hope (i.e., expectation). More than this, a priesthood was granted upon the earth modeled after the priesthood of the Son of GOD in heaven, that would actually bring to pass the divine word. (See Genesis 3: 1-24, King James Version.) Devices would be used including, birth, death, family, inheritance, repentance, sacrifice and suffering.

There are many covenants recorded in the Scriptures. Believers in Jesus Christ receive a “god’s-eye” view of their many features because the Bible record details thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years. Thus, the covenant with the tribes of Jacob (called “Jews”), whereby a “promised land” is provided, had first been granted to seven different nations that occupied that area (Deuteronomy 7: 1 and Acts 13: 19, KJV).

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, a blind man may live a life filled with challenge, accomplishment, and satisfaction. He may marry, be a parent, work, or become a celebrity; yet, look at all he misses. A follower of Christ may continue in darkness regarding the holy writings, and have a wonderful experience of new life. Yet, look at all he misses! Without correct knowledge from the entire Bible, ones duty to spread the Gospel cannot be faithfully carried out.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
