(01/01/2015) A New Year’s Message, 2015: Great Expectations?

    As we enter into the New Year, 2015, many of us are concerned for our immediate future as Christian believers.  Having a mix of desires, disappointments, dreams, and expectations, believers too are asking:  What will happen for me, now?  Will things get better, or stay pretty much the same?  Will I finally fall in love, or meet someone to be my life companion?  Will I finally have the miracle I’ve been praying for; or will I experience the coming of Jesus, and the end of the world as we now know it?  Will I see in my lifetime the harvest, the Rapture, and other sacred events proclaimed, promised and prophesied in the Bible?  Will I finally give up, and stop trying to hold on to things we know are impossible?

    Because we are in a divinely ordered and structured process of growth and transformation, and believers are the focus of multiple sacred operations carried out by the Holy Spirit that are intended to establish permanent changes, everyone will continue to experience a broad range of the positive and negative feelings that anchor us in our humanity.  There will be enduring the unexpected, and facing the unknown.  There will be fear and uncertainty; anger and frustration.  There will be defiance and resistance.  There will be contentment, joy, and satisfaction.  In the midst of many storms, there will be peace.  In short there will be challenge after challenge with unfulfilled hope until the day of Christ’s appearing.

    On the one hand, the life of a Christian is the same rollercoaster of experience that all upon the earth must endure.  On the other hand, believers are marching to Zion supplied from the onset with guidance and instruction from Jesus, fellowship with other believers, a fresh endowment of sacred content from the makeup of divinity (e.g., faith, holiness, love), sacred knowledge through study of the holy writings, and new insights that emerge over time as they continue to pursue their journey. 

    For believers, diverse questions and thoughts are not so much a result of the changing times as the outcome of shifts in focus where believers lose sight of the eternal goals of divinity that have been revealed through Jesus Christ.  What we are commanded to expect and be ready for (we say, our hope) is unchanging.  My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.  At the Advent, the Second Coming of Jesus, mankind is to become immortal and incorruptible, to live upon the earth made new, and serve as an eternal companion to Deity.  For now, Creation continues, and GOD is completing numberless sacred operations to fulfill the spirit potential of man to be more than a mere animal or carnal being.  Thus, there are such features revealed as atonement, correction, forbearance, forgiveness, longsuffering, perfection, redemption, salvation, and sanctification.

As we begin the New Year, 2015, think it not strange that there will be affliction, hardship, or fiery trials.  Let us continue our deliberate choice to experience salvation through Jesus Christ in spite of all opposition that arises by disease, covetousness, envy, ignorance, poverty, pride, selfishness, sin, temptation, or tribulation.  Let us resolve again to hear our Sovereign say, Well done thou good, and faithful servant.  Where you have done it for the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.

Christians, can a person pray to God to remove doubt in His existence from their heart?

Here are a few points that all Christian believers must embrace to avoid error and spiritual confusion:

(1.)  Many questions that are posed by those who seek sacred knowledge must be answered by fitting together what seem to be contradicting, separate and unrelated lessons that all are contained within the holy writings.  Subtleties (barely visible differences; unseen shifts in focus and meaning) often may be present.  For example, when the Apostle Peter saw Jesus walking on the water, and wanted to have that same experience, he declared that, if Jesus would command it, he would be able to approach Jesus by walking on the water.  Jesus called Peter, who then left the boat, stood upon the water, and began to take steps.  When the waves began to swell, and Peter could no longer see Jesus, he was overwhelmed by fear, he began to sink, and cried out, Lord save me!  Immediately Jesus was beside him, grabbed his hand, and assisted Peter back into the boat.  He verbally chastised Peter and the others for their lack of faith saying, O ye of little faith.  For the prayerful reader, the basis for relationship with divinity comes into view as faith rather than obedience to commandment and law.

(2.)  Because all followers of Jesus Christ must be born again and mature through gradual growth and spiritual transformations carried out by divinity through their life experiences upon the earth (we say, rebirth, perfection, sanctification), at some time, most believers also will be challenged by feelings of incompleteness, lack of power, and uncertainty.  There are multiple ongoing sacred operations that continue “in the background” and unseen (so to speak) as Christ continually cleanses, refines, and sharpens his chosen ones.  Thus, the Bible reports, on one occasion, Jesus was away from the crowd that usually followed him seeking healing.  His apostles, who all had done so before, were asked by a boy’s father to cast out a devil (we say, perform an exorcism), and the apostles could not.  When Jesus returned, the father pleaded for his help.  When asked by the Savior whether he believed Jesus could successfully do the exorcism, the father replied, I believe, help thou mine unbelief.  He may have come a long distance in hope of help for his child.  Seeing others blessed, he may well have become discouraged when his child could not be improved.  Even so, he did not leave and go home after the repeated failures of the apostles.  Again, the focus must be seen as faith and the content of the father’s spirit, rather than such finite human tools as intellect, logic, medicine, philosophy, or science.  Ones understanding that GOD is and that GOD is able must be as much a part of oneself as their own hand, their foot, or their offspring.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  On several occasions the apostles observed Jesus maintaining the sacred discipline of prayer.  Wanting to be more like Jesus, they asked that he give them more faith.  The Savior responded saying, in effect, the problem is not the amount or size of a person’s faith.  Where you have faith as small as a grain of mustard seed it is enough.  This is true because faith is an aspect of divinity, and is inseparable from other features within the divine makeup such as forgiveness, holiness, joy, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom and wrath against sin.)  I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

If you think there is a God?

Why doesn't he resurrect the dead Or bring everyone up to heaven? are you ready for it to happen?
I've been hearing this story my entire life and it has been told for thousands of years.

“Grin”, for most Christian believers the only acceptable answers we may share are part of a larger system of beliefs and practices, and may not be reduced to a simple reply that would satisfy unbelievers.  Even so, here are a few points you may find useful as you continue to ask and receive answers from the people who seek to serve divinity:

(1.)  Just as within a human family there must be boundaries, discipline, distance, limitations, and rules to protect the several interests of each member as they exchange, interact, agree and disagree, there must be definitions, explanations and specific process to focus and order relationship with GOD who is Spirit, and who has appeared among mankind in flesh as Jesus Christ.

(2.)  Death, rebirth, and resurrection are divine tools along with such gifts from GOD as sacred knowledge, law, wisdom, and holy writings.  Thereby, the primary eternal purposes of Deity come into view that center upon eternal life.

(3.)  The operations of sin upon awareness and self-will within mankind are a barrier to communion, interaction, and unity between the Creator and the created.  Conjecture, philosophy, and speculation are removed within the followers of Jesus through the operations of divine substance such as faith, holiness, joy, righteousness and truth received through baptism.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  With GOD, things do not “just happen,” given a primary purpose also is that divinity be correctly known and responded to by all created beings and living creatures.  This is called “revelation”.  In the same way a newborn probably does not have a full understanding of his own conception and birth, yet, it is their own experience, and they go on to live, believers do not come to know all things, yet, are given many important and necessary things that prepare them for further revelation through Jesus Christ, even his second coming.)  I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(12/29/2014) Mortality Is Required Because of Sin

More is shared on the specific forms of sin addressed by redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ.  While mankind was created to be an eternal companion to divinity, the operations of sin permanently altered the human capacity to endure within the spheres of life as they were originally emanated from the active presence of Deity.  As a peculiar residue of the chaos and flux that existed before all creation, sin has introduced subtleties  (i.e., manipulation by hidden differences; barely visible shifts in meaning or purpose) that destroy communication, interaction and continuing relationship with divinity.  Although sin first appeared intangibly and invisibly among the angels of heaven (who were not immortal or incorruptible, and who endure at the discretion of Almighty GOD), the Creator is using the device of death and the frameworks of time and space to limit sin, and reveal sin as carnal, temporary and visible, not eternal.  Multiple sacred operations must be carried out that only divinity may complete including atonement, forgiveness, incarnation, reconciliation, resurrection, and sanctification.  The operations of sin that introduced conflict, confusion, separation and defiled worship among the celestial beings is more clearly seen and understood by many through humans upon the earth, for sin may clearly dominate awareness and self-will within finite mankind.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ mankind is experiencing a continuous, ongoing transformation, and will be perfected as without corruption, and having immortality.  Most of us forget, the GOD we worship is a GOD of judgment.  Wrath against sin is an inseparable and permanent aspect of the divine makeup along with such spirit content as compassion, faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, perfection and wisdom.  Wrath against sin is not always foremost or recognizable as a divine expression, yet, like sacred jealousy and eternal ownership is an unchanging feature of the GODhead.  As an embodiment and incarnation for the imparted Spirit (we say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Prophecy), the Church operates against sin not by condemning or punishing attitudes, conduct and behavior, or by feeding the poor and works of social consciousness so much as by such works as encouraging and proclaiming forgiveness, mercy in judgment, new life through rebirth, holy practices (we say, sacraments), reconciliation, repentance, restoration, reverence, sanctification, and sacred truth.  Mankind’s need for Jesus as an advocate continues once cleansed and cleared of Adamic sin because of errors, mistakes and personal sin that may persist during their growth as a new believer.

(12/28/2014) The Sin Covered By Salvation?

The specific forms of sin addressed by redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ are considered, today.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Lazybug” (Level 4 with 4,299 points, a member since January 03, 2011) posted the following:

“Lazybug”, here are a few points I am free to share as a servant to Jesus Christ:

(1.)  There are two aspects of sin that absolutely must be addressed by divinity through atonement and propitiation.  Both earth and heaven are now tainted through what we may call “Adamic”, collective, or historical sin as well as what we may term individual, personal, and “substance” sin.  Adamic sin is described as an inherited condition that disposes mankind to sin that may be spoken of as an influence that may dominate awareness and self-will.  Personal sin has to do with the missing spirit content for those who have not accepted things ministered to heaven and earth through Jesus Christ with its fresh endowment of spirit from divinity that includes faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Sin is no thing created by GOD, and has no carnal, material or social aspect from divinity, yet, sin has direction, effect, and presence. Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and all divine order generated through sacred law.  The “existence” of sin can only be recognized and resisted through divine provisions such as covenant, government, law, and the imparted Spirit.  Sin may be described as “self destruction,” and has no function or purpose in agreement with divine intent and eternal purposes such as being, life, and person.

(3.)  The blood of Jesus upon the cross is essential to the sacred process of atonement that alone may alter the record of personal sin, yet, does not eliminate and remove sin itself (for sin has no existence).  We describe divine judgment as though it is simple; however, in divine judgment men are not accused and indicted by GOD, by Satan, by angels or by other men.  The record of a person’s own deeds and words will commend or condemn them.  The blood of Jesus selectively applied will “cover” a multitude of sins (i.e., errors, bad conduct, misdeeds), yet, may not erase or expunge them.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Given the operations of sin have altered the endowment of spirit substance originally imparted to Adam (we say, the breath of life, the Holy Spirit, the word of GOD) a fresh deposit of divinity must be provided through baptism (death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth from divine substance).  Born again, believers must “grow again” facing life challenges upon the earth, acquiring sacred knowledge, and developing through fellowship with other believers.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Today, focus is upon how the preposition “of” is used throughout the Bible to address commitment, exclusive dedication to GOD, and origins for ones belief and understanding.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Camille” (Level 7 with 179,888 points, a member since March 18, 2009) posted the following:


How can believers be in the world, but not of the world?

“Camille”, here are a few points that have helped many Christian believers in their reading of Scriptures that speak of “the world”:

(1.)  One of the great challenges when reading the Bible is that a single word or expression may appear that has several different meanings.  For example, “law” may be (1) “the covenant of GOD with Moses and those that left Egypt”, (2) appetite and other inborn impulses or tendencies, (3) outcomes and verdicts in judgment, (4) the conditions and terms for a legal agreement.  Within a single verse, passage, or paragraph, multiple uses of the same word may appear as in Romans 7.

(2.) “The world” is both a sphere of life (we say, environment; a situation where created beings and living creatures may exist); and “the world” is an organized set of ideas and practices (we say, a belief system) used for human survival. 

(3.)  GOD has created all the known spheres of life such as the earth, heaven, the sea, and the universe (hell is not a sphere of life), while mankind has created “the world.”  In the same way divinity has provided devices and tools for living such as definition for “good and bad”, “right and wrong”, “true and false” or “real and unreal”, the world also provides fixed patterns, limits, principles, and values that determine human communication, exchange, material objects, mortality, and staying alive.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Throughout the holy writings read in English, where the word “of” appears one may say “from”.  Thus, “the gift of God” may be read “the gift from God,” “the son of Adam” may be read “son from the male and female creation,” and “son of GOD” may be read “son from the fullness of GODhead.”  Believers are to operate “in the world” (within the material, social and other frameworks for human order), yet, are not to operate as creations, offspring and products having no origin that acknowledges divinity.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(12/25/2014) A Christmas Message, 2014

Today, a brief reflection on Christmas is shared.  While the divine benefits of Christmas at first are experienced and made visible through abundance, freedom, giving, and gratitude, atonement and rebirth are at the heart of Christmas.  Along with holy blood conveying innocence, life, and purity, the priceless gifts of Christmas include unselfish sacrifices of immortality, majesty, mortality, and sovereignty; discipleship; fellowship; and eternal inheritance.  Around the world today, there are many customs, practices and traditions used to celebrate Christmas as a holiday.  However, throughout the kingdom of GOD, Christmas is a day of judgment, divine appearance in flesh (we say, Incarnation), and the bestowal of grace upon all created beings and living creatures.  Christmas separates those who acknowledge divine love, sacred wisdom, and the supremacy of GOD from those who do not.  Permanent changes and eternal operations are made visible and revealed to all through such life experiences as birth, condemnation, discovery, death, fasting, healing, reconciliation, and restoration.  In addition to a foretaste of new life and new relationship with divinity mankind receives divine comfort, encouragement and enlightenment with assurances and promises of glory, joy, perfection, and sanctification.  All are to see with new eyes and holy understanding that mankind is forever embraced to be an immortal, incorruptible companion to divinity.  May your spirit be enriched and divinely touched this Christmas, 2014, and throughout 2015, the coming New Year.

(12/24/2014) Peace The Gift of Christmas?

More is shared on the Christmas Spirit, the spontaneous holiday truce during WWI, and other gifts and operations of the Holy Spirit.  The divine benefit and godly value of Christmas centers in the Advent and Incarnation of GOD as Jesus Christ. Covetousness, hilarity, levity, pleasure and self-indulgence have no part in the true meaning of Christmas.  No one is condemned by Christ simply because they encourage their children with material gifts, Santa Claus, a special family meal, or peculiar observances for the season.  For only where there is blasphemy, idolatry, iniquity and rebellion are we guilty of forgetting GOD and abusing our privilege.  Observing Christmas should provide assurance, comfort, contentment, laughter and satisfaction.  Even so, in the same way the gifts of covenant and divine law were accompanied by occurrences to evoke awe and wonder, the birth of Jesus was filled with marvel and holy spectacle that continue to call forth hope, humility and reverence.  Correctly understood, the special gifts and joy of Christmas are divine proclamation, promise, and prophecy fulfilled.  The account of a cease-fire during a time of bitter combat and war is cherished and received as a sacred event (we say, miracle), because it emerged as sameness and shared purpose within the hearts and spirits of diverse men under the influence of specific unifying truths, and appeared in spite of anger and rage, harsh conditions, military discipline, hierarchy and orders (we say, the chain-of-command), national pride, public policy, politics, tactics, or strategy to seek advantage.  For those outside of Christ, the human desire to “live and let live” is enough to explain what occurred in 1914.  Roughly 100,000 British and German soldiers along the Western Front participated in an unofficial cessation of hostilities.  However, it remains that wars among created beings and living creatures are usually founded upon accusations of betrayal, bias, injustice, the misappropriation of resources, malice and wrong-doing that may only be corrected, suspended, and permanently resolved through divine judgment—the settlement of conflicts and disputes through the proclamation of sacred law.  Historically, the fruitage and seeds of war can only be bitterness, desire for revenge, despair, grudges, hatred, imbalance, loss, and mistrust that will eventually appear as renewed warfare.  Christian believers are to understand that, like joy and life itself, the Spirit who establishes peace appears through the active presence of divinity.  At Christmas and at every other season, peace is only emanated and known through such eternal aspects of Deity as divine love, forgiveness, judgment, longsuffering (we say, endurance), revelation, sacred promise, and salvation.

Psalms 95:  1-3, KJV—O come, let us sing unto the LORD:  let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.  3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Isaiah 61:  10-11, KJV—I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.  11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

(12/23/2014) The Christmas Spirit?

Changes in behavior during the Christmas season, the spontaneous holiday truce during WWI, and operations by the Holy Spirit are topics, today.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID  “Wala” (Level 1 with 19 points, a member since May 11, 2014) posted the following:


Why are people kind and helpful to others only during Christmas but on normal days its everyone for themselves?

For example back in WW 1 the soldiers had a Christmas truce where they wont fight on Christmas. In my opinion if you chose to be nice only during the holidays you should always be kind not just around Christmas time. Please if anyone can explain, I don't understand.

“Wala”, here are a few points to consider that are often shared among Christian believers, who try to make others happy everyday:

(1.)  For many, celebrating and observing Christmas is a peculiar acknowledgment (we also say, worship) of divinity that arises within an individual from their own spiritual substance.  Depicted through the birth of Jesus, the giving of the wise men, humility and reverence shown by angels and shepherds, the “Christmas spirit” is one of fellowship and unity with GOD expressed through forgiveness, hope, life, newness, revelation, and salvation.

(2.)  Sin is not a spirit, and has not been created by GOD.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the Creation that has divine order generated by law.  Sin may dominate finite human awareness and self-will, yet, mankind is capable of receiving and continuously displaying spirit content from the makeup of GOD.

(3.)  Through operations that can only be carried out by the Spirit of GOD, the spirit content of mankind is refreshed in baptism (death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak).  Believers must receive the imparted, indwelling Spirit (also called, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth).  The gifts of GOD through the holy child are inseparable aspects of divine content such as faith, holiness, honor, joy, longsuffering, love, nobility, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  For many, Christmas is only a cultural and social pattern that occurs once a year.  All living upon the earth must operate within the frameworks of time and space.  For those not filled with the Holy Spirit, awareness and self-expression will flow as cycles, discreet episodes, and serial events.  Thus, many only feel encouraged to exchange and interact at Christmas because of “busy-ness”, covetousness, envy, peer pressure, and remorse.)  I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(12/22/2014) Racism Is Not From GOD

More is shared on America, benefits from the death of Jesus upon the cross, and racism.  Diversity as the tool of divinity is used to establish beauty as well as movement and process apart from change.  Racial hatred opposes the continued existence of divine love, of GOD as impartial in judgment, and of such intimate relationship as a friend of GOD (as was granted Abraham) or a child of GOD (as granted to Adam).  In the process of GOD, men will be set apart (we say, anointed, endowed, sanctified) or used within hierarchies, yet, not arbitrarily exalted above other men.  Judgment and salvation are from GOD; racism, sin and wickedness are not.  Condemnation on the basis of divine law is far different from condemnation on the basis of class, politics, privilege, reputation, social standing, and status.  Moved by the Spirit of GOD, believers are separated from others by their attitude, convictions, desires, lifestyle, sacred knowledge, their message, and their vision.  Among most nations, today, issues of race can not be easily separated from the practical issues of discrimination, imbalance, injustice and prejudice concerning employment, income and poverty, inheritance, opportunities for advancement through education, ownership of real property (we say, land), and recurring ungodly expressions of anger, fear, and hatred.  In Scripture, conflict and marked differences often appear as divine tools to crystallize and distinguish the will of GOD, who is otherwise invisible and unseen.  Because divine law establishes equity, freedom, and justice, mature Christian belief often promotes cultural diversity, ethnic pluralism, a birth right to exercise ones own conscience in deciding specific spiritual matters for oneself, varieties of spiritual expression, and unity through shared purpose.  Thus, where arbitrary differences and expressions contrary to divine purpose (e.g., atonement, eternal life, rebirth, salvation, sanctification) are exalted, Christians take it that sin, idolatry, and death are being promoted.  Repeated attempts were made to assimilate the Jews, and end their existence as a nation, and people.  At no time has their preservation by GOD as his peculiar people and chosen endorsed any practice by them of egotism, pride, self-promotion, and vanity as though their ethnicity and human characteristics were uppermost, and not divine grace.  During his ministry upon the earth, Jesus encountered conflicts and prejudice on the basis of cultural differences, historical divisions among the Hebrews, his own ethnic origin, and his status as a prophet sent from GOD.  Similarly, the holy record identifies what we today label as “hate crimes,” malice, and racism.  In the same way divine law describes and details transgression and sin so that believers are shielded by discernment (i.e., the use of spiritual things to recognize and respond to other spiritual things), the holy writings also depict and expose various instances of bias, ethnic arrogance, false judgment, hypocrisy, persecution, and racism.  Like bragging and gossiping to entertain others, complaining and condemning a shared enemy is often practiced as though it correctly establishes a lasting bond between total strangers.  Believers are cautioned against such common features of life experience as covetousness and entitlement (claiming a right to, and wanting whatever you see others have); envy (denying that others may have whatever they enjoy); family feuds; suspicion and violence against the rich; and despising politicians and government officials (often called publicans, scalawags, tax collectors, turncoats).  Consider the following:

Luke 4:  23-32, KJV—And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself:  whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.  24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.  25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;  26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.  27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.  28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,  29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.  30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way,  31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.  32 And they were astonished at his doctrine:  for his word was with power.

John 4:  3-12, KJV—He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.  4 And he must needs go through Samaria.  5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.  6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well:  and it was about the sixth hour.  7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water:  Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.  8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)  9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.  10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.  11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep:  from whence then hast thou that living water?  12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

John 4:  19-29,KJV—The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.  20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.  21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.  22 Ye worship ye know not what:  we know what we worship:  for salvation is of the Jews.  23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  24 God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ:  when he is come, he will tell us all things.  26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.  27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman:  yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?  28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,  29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did:  is not this the Christ?

And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.  10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.  11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.  12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.  13 And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.  14 Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties:  therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.  15 And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him:  be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.
