(09/30/2012) Divine Self-Sacrifice?

The Incarnation and divine processes to remove sin are topics, today. Also, there is more on reality and truth. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Giovanni” (Level 1 with 133 points, a member since September 16, 2012) posted the following:

Why would Abraham's God kill himself to save mankind?
Yeshua prayed to himself saying : if you wish Remove this cup from me ?
Huh?
How can Satan tempt The Son if The Son created him? What? Hold on Huh?
Who believes this?
Somebody explain

THE BATTLE AXE: What Is Reality (a.k.a. Truth)? (09/29/2012)—The human predicament is not the absence of reality and truth. Rather, it is the surpassing difficulty encountered before accepting, consistently benefiting by, having proper distance (i.e., near to/far from) for, and maintaining uncluttered awareness, useful insights and recall of reality and truth. Reality and truth are conditions in place as aspects of existence. Human experiences of reality and truth often embrace their own contradictions and opposites. Moreover, the full dimensions of reality and truth extend beyond the ordinary scope of human understanding and vision, and thus may be actual and present, yet remain invisible and unseen. In the same way elements from past experience have status as real and true in the present, there are levels of truth and reality for the content of dreams, goals, expectations, miracles, possibilities and events in sequence that have not yet occurred. The reality and truth of mankind includes becoming mature through continuous growth and learning. Human nature also contains aspects of divinity that may develop, and transform experiences of material reality and truth. All reality and truth may not be characterized as colorful, graphic, memorable and vivid; reality and truth also may be boring, dull, oppressive, and rightly understood, inescapable.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Romans 8: 1-10, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Aliens? (09/24/2012); A Man in Heaven? (09/23/2012); Chances for Change (09/15/2012); What He Died For (09/14/2012); Signs of a Prophet (03/14/2012); The Work of Jesus (03/13/2012); Binder 7: The GODhead (10/04/2011); Melchizedek? (12/22/2010); Meek Abram (10/17/2010)

Walk with me: GOD is a spirit, not a material being. The awareness of created beings and living creatures is dominated by the flesh--appetite such as hunger, thirst, sexual craving; the world--such social realities as culture, family, peers; and the mind--such aspects as emotion, desire, imagination, lust. GOD makes divine person known to the living using features and mechanisms that respond to the peculiar makeup of their physical and spiritual person. The full spectrum of what we are includes that we are finite (have various limitations), are mortal (are subject to death), and our self-will is vulnerable to influences that do not come from GOD and are not human.

The Incarnation of GOD as a device to permit human beings to be in closer relationship with the unseen and with one another uses how we connect and identify by seeing ourselves in others. In the flesh as Jesus, Almighty GOD further displays our Maker as accessible, compassionate, merciful, righteous, truthful and sovereign. More than this, mankind is shown to be capable of overcoming sin, sinners and unclean spirits; capable of comprehending sacred truth; capable of receiving divine content (e.g., faith, holiness, humility, joy, wisdom, wrath, against sin); capable of surviving as POWs in a spiritual war; and capable of serving as an instrument to fulfill divine proclamation, promise, and prophecy.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, sin is an influence that can dominate the will of created beings and living creatures, and was first “discovered” among the angels. Sin is not a creation of GOD; is no material or physical thing; has no content of divine substance; and has no power to influence the will of GOD. Sin opposes the existence of GOD, of divine law, and divine Creation. The processes of GOD to remove sin goes beyond understanding of the created while they are separated from GOD, and must be supplied through truth imparted by the Holy Spirit (such as you are receiving, here). Included among the many sacred processes to extend an imparted, indwelling spirit to mankind are covenant, death, forgiveness, Incarnation, judgment, law, marriage, repentance, rebirth, regeneration, resurrection, and sanctification.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/29/2012) What Is Reality (a.k.a. Truth)?

Some ideas of reality and truth are shared, today (below). Also, there is further consideration, suppose I am wrong?

THE BATTLE AXE: Suppose I Am Wrong? (09/28/2012)—Often in human experience, a person finds more than one satisfying explanation, or framework of belief that accounts for discrete facts within their inner awareness. It is then that they begin to analyze, compare and contrast complex systems, and intricate patterns that describe a collective or common consciousness. Where culture, history and tradition are the primary focus, material and social realities are stressed, and authentic spiritual elements may never come into view. Such stumbling blocks as competitiveness, cultural arrogance, gaps in knowledge, predisposition, skepticism and superstition may warp the conclusions and findings from a person’s reflection and study. Particularly where assumptions are made that inward truth may not be known as definite and unchanging, or that spiritual truth is always determined according to external conditions, thinkers proscribe using “objective” yet undefined criteria for such features as accuracy, clarity, completeness, and simplicity. Even points for elegance and style may be awarded. It remains, the highest standard given for spiritual truth is generally referred to as ones own faith, where faith for the mature Christian believer is a sacred substance imparted from the Divine Person whereby GOD has immediate presence, and resides within created beings and living creatures.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1st Corinthians 2: 12-14, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Doom (09/20/2012); Ghosts (09/02/2012); How Life Exists (08/20/2012); GOD Does Exist (03/20/2012); Why Ask (02/23/2011); Normal? (02/22/2011); Proving Truth? (12/24/2010)

The Roman Governor and Judge, Pontius Pilate, is recorded in the Holy Scriptures having interrogated Jesus before releasing him to those that would perform his crucifixion; and when Jesus would not appeal for mercy, make excuse, or attempt to defend himself against the charges made by the Jews, Pilate asked the question “What is real” using slightly different words, What is truth? (John 18: 38, KJV). In human experience many things are real, and are truth, that no one can explain easily, and that no person may control. Even so, the events, or things, seen, heard and felt are “real”. Even so, the emotional, mental, physical, psychological, and spiritual things that happen are truth. Given that mankind does not have authority and power to create the truth, make truth absolute, and maintain truth as unchanging, many feel that reality and truth are fictions of perfection: There can be no permanent reality, there can be no genuine truth.

The fact that change occurs does not eliminate, or suspend reality and truth. Usually the case is that added realities and new truths are unveiled that formerly were hidden, misunderstood, and unseen. While sudden, unintended, unexpected, unwanted changes are labeled as causing agony, destruction, distress and loss, reality and truth should not be condemned and cursed, because prior to change, a person, in fact, has had many opportunities to become grounded, flexible, prepared, and shielded.

The appearance of Christ in the earth was provided to establish sweeping change for reality and truth within the spiritual awareness of all created beings and living creatures. The operation and process of material reality would remain essentially the same despite some miraculous events, and some radical departures from what we call the “natural order.” “Real” and “truth” defined in Christ, speak to the nature and substance of divinity; to the operation of GOD within, through, and on behalf of mankind; as well as to process that identifies counterfeits of the divine handiwork, and makes visible and permanent the genuine Creation of GOD.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, things acknowledged as real and true within the consciousness of a person’s spirit, may not be confirmed through awareness that come by the flesh, or by the mind as influenced by society and the world. There are specific guidelines, laws and limits for the existence and ministration of spirit; and these are usually very different from those for behavior and conduct in social groups, because spirit is not restricted by frameworks of time and space. Those of us who have carefully examined such things generally agree that the operations of drugs are through the mechanisms of flesh. Thus, no drug supplies an experience caused by, or containing spirit substance from the person of GOD. Similarly, no drug has power to block, repel, or stop a genuine appearance of the Spirit of GOD within a person–including those who may claim to not believe.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/28/2012) Suppose I Am Wrong?

Standards for determining the righteousness of our own beliefs come into view, today, along with more on mob rule and violence as I continue a response begun yesterday to a reader at thoughts.com, who uses the ID “The Eggman”. The following note was posted to Facebook (09/27/2012); more clarifying my beliefs and understanding are presented in the article below.

Just posted at thoughts.com in reply to an extended comment from “The Eggman”:

Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts and feelings in some detail. As I read, I felt you were expressing a great deal of anger and pain. The question hit me, Does he feel this is his “final” answer? I wonder whether he expects to learn more, change, or whether he believes he should hold this position for the rest of his life, no matter what. As far as I now know, life experience is not just material and social. There are spiritual experiences also; and maybe, in the future–as near as an hour from now–you may have a life encounter like mine. I had an unexpected experience of seeing Jesus one night after getting high with friends. I realized no one else could decide for me whether my experience was real, or all in my head. To me, that is the “bottom line” of faith: What does a person really believe to be true and real from within themself regarding GOD? I examined my own thoughts and trusted that the humility that literally touched me was a power from GOD, not from any demon, devil or imp. In seeking to know more, and to be more certain, I have studied the Bible, worshiped in the church, had experience of seeing angels, saw into the motives and purpose of others, and shared the fellowship of true believers. In general, others do not connect to my personal testimonies; and it is as Jesus once said, If I have told you earthly things, and you have not believed; How shall I tell you of heavenly. There is more to learn than most of us can handle in a lifetime. Don’t condemn GOD or the human condition in such a way as to deny yourself a chance to check things out more thoroughly. Be encouraged.

THE BATTLE AXE: Mob Rule and Violence (09/27/2012)—When religious freedom and liberty are defined as matters of politics, social behavior, conduct, feelings and opinion (instead of godly order and structure for conscience and faith), no church, mosque, community or national state can long endure. Repeatedly, those we now label as extremists, fanatics, militants and terrorists have declared that they will answer to no earthly authority, civil law, or impartial judge. Compassion, forgiveness, mercy and wisdom are all cast away so that the tools for religious freedom and liberty may be destruction of property, murder, secrecy, violence, and denial of ones duty to be directly accountable to others (i.e., those entrusted as officials, the public-at-large, and those enduring loss because of their actions.) Men having genuine conviction, integrity and NO shame would even dare come forward into an “open court;” would not “hide” in the faceless crowd; and would answer without hesitation when challenged to “own their deeds.” However, knowing they are wrong, should be punished, and cannot justify themselves, such cowards and low-life will continue to be silent, and cover themselves in lives of darkness. All such must be surrendered to the just workings of a righteous GOD. Had the amount of money lost through the riot and tumult been invested in feeding the families of various imams, been used to create new schools, been used to train media consultants who would share guidance with productions to clarify, honor and respectfully teach the things of Islam, the zeal of the angry mobs could have been known worldwide as a blessing from GOD that will extend to future generations, rather than an effort to spread fear, ignorance, lack of a people’s maturity, primitive stupidity, and ungodliness. Clearly, their murderous, selfish and thoughtless acts have no meaningful part as current truth that is uplifting Islam.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. (Philippians 3: 13-15, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Content Of Prayer (01/29/2012); To Save Jesus? (03/12/2011); A Testimony? (03/11/2011); Faith and History (11/09/2010)

The same experiences that bring a person to spiritual maturity also challenge him or her to ask, Suppose I am wrong? What if there is a better way to think about this? What if there is another way to say this, or do this that would be more correct? And how can I be sure that I am not operating with bias, prejudice, and the blindness that comes from pride? At the least one wants to be able to say, I tried to do the right thing, the right way, and for the right reasons. Thus, some of the most important criteria for deciding right and wrong then becomes the benefit (love) to others. Also, where one properly affirms a godly belief, this should be possible without demanding or expecting the material goods of others, their money, the breakup of their homes, or the denial of their vital relationships. The things that truly have power to edify and buildup may operate quietly over an extended period as unseen forces; however, in due time their effect and outcome will become visible to all, and will be clearly known.

When a person speaks to declare their core beliefs, the conviction of their hearts and minds should always be expressed. As a result, they will use language that presents themselves as certain, sure and unwavering. Their purpose is not to boast, exaggerate, and proclaim themselves a big shot, or to lord it over others. In the say way some things are always the consequence of natural events, and the ordinary process of reality, the spiritual attitudes, beliefs and understandings a person proclaims are always in line with their true inward nature. Those who deliberately show themselves as spiritually stupid and unaware, often do so with the idea that they will not be held accountable, and that they do not have to answer to any authority. Despite years of academic study, broad personal experience, or our private losses and tragedies, most of us do not begin to communicate clearly until we “connect” in relationship. This seems particularly true of when declaring ones faith. We have to speak with a correct knowledge of the person(s) we address. This may include their fears, their goals, their needs, their strengths or their weaknesses. Similarly, we have to speak with a right knowledge of our own inner being, and routinely hidden nature.

Most of the arguments regarding spiritual truth that are made in a public forum are not new. The entire spectrum of ideas may be found documented and recorded in various secular, and sacred writings. It requires discovery and growth before one may consistently recognize the intent and motives of others (for example, expressions of personal ecstasy and joy are distinct from doctrine, and exhortation). Believers are challenged to realize that what they thought were their own ideas, in fact, are attributed to earlier kings, patriarchs, prophets, and even fallen angels. Given the discouragement and disrespect that may be shown ones ideas, Christian speakers and writers rely upon GOD to endorse and signify the soundness of their beliefs. These usually agree that, to avoid spreading error and confusion, it is best to maintain strict standards for what, when and how they share. While they go forward by the force of truth, imperative and urgency, the fact that others have the same access to what they “know” is a great counter-weight against arrogance, overconfidence, and self-importance that establishes balance, clarity and stability.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, as surely as you can see the sacred purposes in what I have written, I can see your purposes in what you post. The issues are more than simply whether we should or should not see angels. More properly, once you have heard, seen, touched or been touched yourself, how are you to use that in the rest of your living experience? Should this change your feelings, your thoughts, your beliefs? How is this to be a benefit in your life? Just having a chance encounter on the Internet with someone who says, I’ve been there, done that–what’s it to you? Some sit in the jury box with their minds made up that everyone who appears in court must be lying, including the judge. To such, the whole process is a sham; and why shouldn’t they decline jury duty? Others understand the limit to what they may offer, and wholeheartedly submit themselves to the process in order to do their best.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/27/2012) Mob Rule and Violence

Today, I share some thoughts in response to the “Yahoo! News” article, At UN speech, Obama says there is ‘no speech that justifies mindless violence’ (by Ben Feller, The Associated Press, posted 09/25/2012). Upon reading the comments made by others, I immediately shared the note that follows, and expand upon those ideas (below):

Be encouraged believers. For the ignorant and ungodly, “freedom” will always mean “I may destroy and do every ugliness I can think of.” Such Americans and Muslims are “equals” for they pursue the same path of disrespect, insult and unrighteousness. It is a peculiar work of Iblis (Satan, the Devil) to slander and undermine with deceits and lies. Agents of the devil, and the diabolical presence can be recognized everywhere on the earth, when folk are quick to talk about you, and have nothing to say to you. Bad mouth, gossip, and rumor are their special techniques to damage the lives and reputations of others.

THE BATTLE AXE: Life and Death (09/26/2012)—For Christians the substance making life has been transformed through Jesus. The content of being is changed by an imparted spirit from GOD, that is to abide and remain within those accepting salvation. A spirit content that is the actual substance of divine person is added to the endowment from GOD that was deposited into mankind at Creation. Through the Holy Spirit, men receive such aspects of divinity as faith, grace, holiness, humility, joy, love, truth, wisdom and wrath against sin. By spiritual rebirth, men receive divine DNA, so to speak, and become “new creatures” while yet alive upon the earth. It remains that their mortality must be fulfilled. However, their eternal life is begun; and death, the fear of death, and the threat of a second death are forever removed as obstacles that deny mankind full access to Almighty GOD.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (Matthew 7: 15-20, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Doom (09/20/2012); Mixing Islam and Christianity (03/26/2012); Why Confess Before Priest (02/27/2012); Violence In The Bible (02/26/2012); The Prophets (02/24/2012); Girdle 18: Steadfast In Truth (12/03/2011); Girdle 17: Try The Spirits (12/02/2011)

Mob rule, riot, and violence in the streets are not the tools of holy men. Those who acknowledge a living GOD continue in a unity that is nourished by law, daily practice, and responsible communication. The lust for authority and power from GOD is deceptive, as is the lust for pleasure, and the lure of sin. Where error becomes common and widespread, error is no longer repulsive and ugly. The appeal of error becomes felt as natural, normal, and in rhythm with ones usual approach to reality. Truly thoughtful believers maintain a posture of vigilance against the agents of Satan, and against their own human errors that include presumption, pride, and self-will.

Anger and feeling are produced through the changes of the flesh when appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching) and mind (e.g., desire, fantasy, imagination, memory) dominate human awareness. Similarly, when sin dominates human self-will, the force of all emotional, non-logical and irrational elements may be multiplied. As a result, true men of GOD are recognized by behavior to benefit others, lawful conduct, and conformity to sacred purpose more than by quoting information from holy writings, their practice of social customs, or their insistence upon historical traditions.

Agents of the Adversary and false witnesses to divine truth almost always promote themselves to others as true men of GOD. Typically, these use material gifts (e.g., food, clothing, shelter) to draw attention to themselves (not to GOD), and initiate temporal relationships. Their disguises are penetrated when they advocate destruction, killing, warfare, and violence that is supposed to benefit and please GOD, or improve the lives of true believers and men of faith. The liars boast a sacred purpose, however, the benefit is only to individuals seeking reward, and an easy path to blessing from GOD. As with all sin, there is no direct revelation of the divine person, of the higher levels of holiness, or of sacred truth that furthers and preserves divine Creation.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, deceivers typically attempt to use sacred doctrine and teachings to discount and undo righteous principles and standards. Like parasites, they can appear within the most vital organs of the body; yet, they are foreign and do not build up or nourish growth, health and soundness. Their errors cannot be detected by those who are simple that have not, themselves, carefully examined the things given by GOD. The spirit-content and nature of any person, in fact, can be known, discerned and properly recognized. Believers are by no means “at the mercy of the enemy.” Bully-boys, demons, and hoodlums are always one-dimensional, and display a narrow focus. Those having genuine conviction, ignorance or spiritual innocence are set apart because they show no traces of defiance, impatience, malice and pride. Fanatics that commit murder and outrage are not true spiritual warriors who send forth a sweet fragrance to GOD. Corruption, decay, and rottenness have a stench that cannot be disguised.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/26/2012) Life and Death

Natural and spiritual death are topics today along with eternal life, resurrection, prosperity and destruction of fools. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “interesting” (Level 1 with 25 points, a member since September 23, 2012) posted the following:

If Jesus died so other people can live, isn’t being ressurected a deal-breaker?

THE BATTLE AXE: Prosperity Destroys Fools (09/25/2012)—As surely as the use of money is commonplace in our culture, complaining about bills, debts and money is so widespread that financial stability and contentment are often incorrectly thought to come only by operation of the Spirit of GOD in the life of believers. Many Christians now endorse the idea that prosperity is a condition of overall health for a person’s finances, mental state, physical body, social relationships and spiritual wellbeing. Believers regularly petition GOD in their prayers for increased prosperity as a legitimate entitlement in concurrence with their inheritance as children of GOD. Abundance and plenty routinely trigger feelings of safety, satisfaction, and strength. However, prosperity is said to be “ruin” where spiritual complacency and indifference appear, and where there is a false sense of security, overconfidence, or breakdowns in sacred discipline and vigilance. Because ostentation, showing-off, flamboyance, and making display of appetite, money and property (called “conspicuous consumption”) are downplayed as harmless competition or acceptable fun, rather than sin, those having great wealth often foster and are plagued by envy, covetousness, and thievery. Envy (a quiet, emotional form of violence) is malice directed against others to deny them pleasure in, or ownership of some object. Covetousness is exaggerated desire for objects others are seen with, ones own belongings, or the belongings and property of others. Thievery is stealing, and taking authority over the belongings of others without their approval, knowledge and permission. The poor are able to “live as kings,” because prosperity does not initiate, generate, and increase sin. Rightly understood, prosperity turns men to GOD and to one another in gratitude, humility and joy. One does not prosper on the basis of how much they have, by having more, or by having better. One prospers by enjoying what they have, however little it may be; and the key to their enjoyment is that, they continue in their integrity, and they unselfishly share with others (see Proverbs 22: 1 and Proverbs 19: 22, King James Version).

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. (2nd Corinthians 4: 5-11, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Chances for Change (09/15/2012); What He Died For (09/14/2012); The Old Testament and Parables (08/12/2012); The Divine Tool of Death (08/11/2012); Binder 21: Dead Indeed Unto Sin (10/18/2011); Work in Heaven? (11/22/2010); For Our Sins? (11/21/2010)

Your question pertains to some of the most important and least publicly talked about truth from Christian belief. Be encouraged as you consider the following:

Thinking and speaking of life and death as events within the natural world are very different from the understanding given Christian believers, who learn to see life and death as aspects of spiritual processes. Created beings and living creatures “die” as they complete, finish and fulfill mortality—a condition of existence and qualification for carrying out specific divine purposes. In addition to death, mortality is also completed through translation wherein one is caught up to GOD. The death of Jesus was not intended to continue the course of natural life and death for mankind that had been in place for thousands of years. By his death Jesus completes, prepares, and reveals various sacred processes including Creation, forgiveness, rebirth, repentance, salvation, sanctification, and judgment.

Resurrection from the state of death is provided to establish the righteousness of judgment. In order that all may appear alive before the divine judge to hear and “answer” any charges, their mortality is restored. The first resurrection restores only the followers of Jesus at the time of his coming (called Advent, and Rapture). The second resurrection restores the wicked, and occurs after the destruction of Satan in the lake of fire. The wicked therefore appear in judgment with only the record of their own deeds as the “accuser.”

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, being cast into the lake of fire is the second death, and is reserved for unholy angels, unclean spirits and wicked men. Conclusion of the Great White Throne judgment will also be the finish of all mortality. Incorruptibility and immortality will be bestowed upon mankind, and those saved from the earth will continue their eternal life begun before their death. The holy angels and other living creatures of heaven will not be altered.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/25/2012) Prosperity Destroys Fools

Poverty and prosperity are topics, today, along with more on aliens, and how believers are equipped by GOD for new experiences and strange encounters. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Pray for the world.” (Level 7 with 53,416 points, a member since April 15, 2011) posted the following:

How does the prosperity of fools destroy them? Is it better to be poor?

We all have some foolishness in us, right? Just wondering what you think. Thanks for responding.

Proverbs 1:32 (KJV)

32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Also, not saying it’s okay to be foolish either, but you see a rich person and do they spend money in all the right ways? Not the way you would do it for sure, but people are people and like to think for themselves and do it their own way.

THE BATTLE AXE: Aliens? (09/24/2012)—The benefit Christian believers desire will not come by magic, science or space exploration. Eternal life comes by covenant, divine grace, and love. Some of the clearest demonstrations of human need for divine guidance regarding the things of life are repeatedly seen in the way many seek authority over the truth, and through the truth. Rightly understood, truth is the master and exists having its own excellence, fullness, and integrity. For Christian believers, the imparted Spirit of GOD (also called the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, and the Spirit of Truth) establishes a comprehensive description of reality for the mind of man. Men and women in the earth must come to know the eternal being and existence of Almighty GOD through consciousness of their own being as well as through the existence of others like themselves. More than this, mankind must prepare for and receive with balance a divine revelation that necessarily includes what men account as astounding, evil, impossible, impractical, intimidating, miraculous, shocking, and wonderful.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father. (Proverbs 28: 5-7, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Spiritual Needs? (01/27/2011); Finders, Keepers? (01/26/2011); Things? (11/13/2010); Rich Yet Saved (11/11/2010); Divine Blessing (10/22/2010)

Be encouraged as you consider the following. It is better to be unafraid, and to have the sense that there are alternatives and godly possibilities (some say “freedom”) for addressing ones needs:

Christians who embrace poverty as an important aspect of spiritual life often do so with the understanding that the activity, and concerns associated with money and wealth are obstacles and stumbling blocks to becoming mature believers. Money is seen as a tool of the flesh (appetite—such as hunger, thirst, sexual craving; sensation—such as hearing, seeing, touching; and mind—such as dream, fantasy, imagination, recall), and does not directly and immediately build up or convey the content of ones spirit. Similarly, money is understood as simply another tool supplied by the world (i.e., the system created by mankind to facilitate survival through sharing and exchange of resources). Like language, a butter knife, or a monkey wrench, money does not operate as a living entity; money is subject to “human error;” money has no power of “self-will;” and money is understood as an expression or symbol of such carnal features as human desire, emotion, lust, motivation, passion, pride and self-centeredness.

Affluence and wealth are accounted as “deceitful” in that getting and keeping riches routinely entail hidden risks, and are temporal (last only a short time). As such money and lucre are unpredictable, unreliable, and unstable as platforms for fulfillment of both ones human and divine potential. More than this, many mature Christians regard the greatest “danger” of wealth as centering in how money may determine a person’s self-awareness, and their estimations of others (we say, money “warps a person’s judgment”). While we generally agree, Money can’t buy you love, many withhold affection, respect and trust on the basis of the material goods and property amassed, controlled and owned by themselves as compared to others.

In our present culture, all learn to manage money, and it is common for everyone to have skill with money from children to the oldest seniors. Even so, many are intimidated by money; and are afraid of the important duties, obligations, privileges, responsibilities, and hard work (e.g., accounting, investing, saving, tithing) that accompany having lots of money. Afraid to be labeled as indebted, lazy, proud, selfish, snobbish, or wasteful, there are those who feel money will separate them from loved ones, and that, were they to have money, they would be ashamed, and condemned by GOD. Others mistakenly hold that money should be rejected because it is the source of all sin, and the troubles of mankind. Declaring that money brings out the worst in people—and brings the worst people out—they fail to correctly recognize how the potential for good works is increased exponentially through money. Money is not automatically and necessarily a tool of sin and sinners.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the Scriptures teach that, where the love of money dominates human awareness in place of the Holy Spirit from GOD, that love (not money itself) is the root of all evil—the foundation and underlying cause of upheaval, calamity and disaster (not wickedness). The exaggerated fear of money is no different than the exaggerated love of money. Thus, fear also can be the root of all evil; and where money is feared, loved or held in awe, money is then exalted and worshiped as the false god, Mammon.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/24/2012) Aliens?

Aliens and the truth about GOD as presented through Jesus Christ are topics, today, along with more on Christ existing in heaven having the body and form of a human being. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Meredith” (Level 2 with 392 points, a member since August 12, 2012) posted the following:

Christians: Help please?

Okay, so I overthink EVERYTHING. And, I’ve always believed in God and Jesus and etc. So, this one freaky weird girl in my science class proposed this theory that aliens control us and they sent Jesus down to preform miracles and stuff as a prank, and they’re ominous and they preform miracles to make us believe that there really is a God. Just to play a sick joke to laugh at people on Earth. Okay, so I am severely over thinking this and I am starting to convince myself that it’s true. PLEASE convince me that I’m just being weird and over analyzing and that it’s not true. Thank you.

THE BATTLE AXE: A Man in Heaven? (09/23/2012)—In the revealed plan of GOD, Jesus is to always be a visible example, guide, and priest to mankind throughout the eternal ages. Even though mortality and dying are removed along with corruption and decay, the process of knowledge for mankind will continue to go forth as a movement from level to level: there always will be change through growth and learning. Created beings and living creatures will be immortal and incorruptible, yet, will not be all-knowing. There will be direct access to the Divine Presence, however, there will continue to be “sacred secrets” and sovereign mysteries known only to Almighty GOD. By the person of GOD in flesh, that is Jesus, mankind will continue to have permanent assurance of acceptance by Invisible GOD, evidence of divine oneness and righteousness as well as a mediator to the things unseen. There is no such thing as a “low standard” from GOD; and as believers in the earth that now is, and in the world that is to come embrace the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus, they conform to the highest of all standards for humankind—higher than the covenants for a nation under GOD; higher than the written law; higher than promise and prophecy.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (1st John 4: 2-8, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: About Conversion (09/03/2012); Ghosts (09/02/2012); Sin Without Wrongdoing? (08/28/2012); Tests for Origins (08/27/2012); The “Original” Bible (03/21/2012); GOD Does Exist (03/20/2012)

The truth about GOD that we receive as followers of Jesus Christ is simple, yet profound (i.e., deep, intense, multileveled, weighty). There are many things hidden and invisible to mankind, and this includes other created beings and living creatures. To mature Christians, whether or not aliens and extraterrestrials exist is no more a question than whether demons and devils exist. The issue is not are there living things unlike mankind, we know the answer to that is “Yes” (e.g., cats, dogs, horses, etc.).  Instead, we need to ask how may we discern and recognize their influence, their intent, and their continuing value to us as men and women under GOD.

Through the elements recorded in the Holy Bible mankind has been provided a fixed standard for assessing sacred-content and spiritual worth. Included are law, praises, prayers, promises, proclamations, sacred purpose, and thanksgivings. Through history, parables and proverbs, believers are equipped to formulate their own unique goals for growth and service. Also, the Gospel of Jesus Christ may be read as a guidebook that instructs those who accept a place as sons and daughters of GOD. Examples for daily living are provided along with insights for fellowship with GOD as well as for all our relationships within the earth.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the consciousness of mankind must be altered to access and encounter Divine Person. Therefore, Jesus Christ comes to us in the form of humanity as a mediator to re-connect mankind to GOD the Creator. Sacred processes must go forth that include rebirth, regeneration, sanctification, death, resurrection and judgment.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/23/2012) A Man in Heaven?

Idolatry, Incarnation, the GODhead, the Holy Spirit, and willpower are topics, today. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Call me Gary” (Level 5 with 6,461 points, a member since July 11, 2006) posted the following:

Is Jesus a man living in heaven?

Most Trinitarians believe that Jesus is both man and God.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the Bible teaches that when Jesus died he died a human and was raised to heaven as a spirit person.
Do Trinitarians really believe that Jesus is a man living in heaven?

THE BATTLE AXE: The Spirit by Measure (09/22/2012)—Idolatry, the worship of false gods by adoration of graven images, is also a condition of infirmity and reduced willpower wherein a person believes there is will in some lifeless object or thing greater than their own human, self-will. Otherwise harmless and useful items are made to be abominations, exalted and given the place of our GOD. For example, many lament not being able to quit the habit of cigarette smoking; so the “will of the smoke” must be greater than “the will of the folk.” These acknowledge some power within the cigarette that controls their attitudes and behavior. Similarly, in one of the most widespread errors of our times, we see those who do not use alcohol and drugs indignant and terrified by the mere thought of their children or some neighbor being “users”. Saying this another way: Many are now addicted to anger, confusion and hate on the basis of what they suppose others are addicted to. The pursuit of such themes as drug addiction, LGBT, freedom, madness, and pleasure, derive from operations of the flesh, not from the Spirit of GOD. Where the prevailing notion of sexual freedom entails acceptance of spiritual duty as “optional”, and both decreased responsibility and lack of inhibition are acceptable, a person’s deposit of divine will, and the Spirit from GOD are seen to be woefully diminished. Surely, it cannot be correct for the children of GOD to approve that selfishness, sex, drugs and controlled substances, be feared, praised or promoted above family, friendship, offspring, parents, and spouse. Efforts to recover and release the victims of addictions cannot succeed when directed to change only a discrete behavior. Addiction is a life pattern expressed simultaneously on multiple levels of a person’s emotional, mental, physical, psychological and spiritual being. Change of ones spirit content can only be brought about through the action of divinity, and the increased measure of Spirit that is now imparted to mankind.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (1st Timothy 3: 16, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Chances for Change (09/15/2012); What He Died For (09/14/2012); Why Is GOD Blamed? (08/23/2012); Shaken Once More (08/22/2012); How Life Exists (08/20/2012); Why Jesus Prayed (08/19/2012); Is That All It Takes? (03/18/2012); Many Forms of GOD? (03/17/2012)

Many mature Christian believers endorse the teaching that Jesus is now in heaven, and continues in the flesh and form of a man. As with the doctrines of Creation and Salvation, the doctrine of Incarnation speaks to a divine revelation whereby the eternal person and presence of Almighty GOD is made known and visible as immortal, incorruptible, and sovereign by the use of flesh and blood. GOD is a spirit, and as such is without limits, dimension, material being, and shape. Moreover, GOD is not a cloud, a fog, mist, smoke, a vapor, or any other material thing that lacks cohesion and solidity. GOD must be understood as a divine person consisting of such inseparable sacred substances as faith, holiness, hope, humility, joy, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom and wrath against sin.

GOD is known and made visible to created beings and living creatures through various mechanisms in line with the measure of divine person deposited within them at Creation. Angels, animals, mankind and sacred beasts all apprehend GOD as if GOD changes, or displays himself in various forms. However, rightly understood, GOD is immutable and unchanging. Those who deny that GOD is less than divine, because they do not understand all that is necessary or possible with GOD must be accounted as those spiritually underdeveloped and immature.

The oneness of GOD is not violated by the fact that created beings and living creatures only apprehend divinity on terms dictated by GOD, not by themselves. The oneness of GOD is not determined by human frameworks such as form, time and space. The oneness of GOD derives from such sacred processes and purposes as Creation, damnation, eternal life, forgiveness, rebirth, regeneration, resurrection and sanctification.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, there are many truths concerning the character and nature that are the person of GOD that will never be shared with humankind. Acceptance, respect, trust and understanding are vital to the relationship established as Christian belief. The validity of sacred truth must be discerned and recognized without use of the usual tools of the flesh (appetite, sensation, mind). Only by the imparted, indwelling spirit (called the Comforter, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth) supplied through Jesus Christ, can there be this peculiar knowledge of the GODhead among the created.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/22/2012) The Spirit by Measure

Today, topics include whether or not GOD “hates” homosexuality, what it means to be “children of GOD,” and the view that we must “have GOD’s spirit” within us. Also, there is more on contradictions found in the Bible. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Taylor” (Level 5 with 7,350 points, a member since March 18, 2011) posted the following:

Why do christians say we arnt all Gods children, we dont all have Gods spirit?

I chat in religious rooms on yahoo Messenger and according to some of the christians ive met on there im going to hell for being gay. they said im not a child of God and i don’t have Gods spirit. but I don’t agree with those assertions. I think we are all children of God and that we all have Gods spirit within us and I dont think God hates homosexuality. two of them said I have no authority to talk about the bible because im bisexual and not perfectly and holy like them lol basically.

THE BATTLE AXE: Contradictions (09/21/2012)—In the same way the holy angels ascend and descend upon Jacob’s ladder, believers in Jesus go up and down through levels of service and understanding guided by the holy writings. The Bible is received as “an evidence of things unseen”, and is not alone as a guide for being in right relationship with GOD. Divine supply to mankind includes the recorded examples from earlier men and women of faith; the service of apostles and prophets; the life and ministry of Christ; the sacred truth as expressed in the life of present day clergy and believers; and ones own anointing through the imparted, indwelling spirit from GOD. Testimonies presented in the Scriptures do not have to be exact quotes and historical accounts, or the same, precise statements of truth from chapter to chapter, and book to book. However, taken together, the writings are to “corroborate” and be in harmony supporting one another as revelation of divine purpose. Those who insist the Bible is tainted by humanity, or filled with factual errors, generally go out of their way to discover problems and find fault. As a result, they often, fail to acknowledge that what the Scriptures have given operates as defining truth that must be accepted for understanding of all else that follows. Consider again how, in arithmetic and mathematics, children are introduced to “one plus one is two,” and meaning for a point and a line are established at first as “givens.” Only later are logical arguments stated as assumptions, propositions and corollaries that supply a procedural proof and validity for the concepts. Don’t spend any more time seeking to find scriptural infirmity and weakness. It truly is a device of the Adversary, a distraction from prayerful study, and a foil intended to foster spiritual confusion. Such narrow focus and nitpicking characterizes those who make such arguments that, where Paul rebukes “Cephas” (not “Peter”), the apostle challenges his primacy as head of the Church, and so the two names, Peter and Cephas, cannot refer to the same person. (The deadly poison hidden here includes division on the basis of whether the Pope is rightful successor to the one man named by Jesus.) Meanwhile, mature believers accept that Christ alone is head of the body.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3: 31-36, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Gospel not Logical? (09/16/2012); Father Forgive (09/06/2012); Yet If I Judge (09/05/2012); Sin Without Wrongdoing? (08/28/2012); The Young Less Religious? (08/18/2012); Wrong to Love? (08/17/2012)

Be encouraged as you consider this understanding that has been shared with me: All created beings and living creatures were to contain a full measure of the divine spirit that was breathed forth (i.e., exhaled, imparted, uttered) during their initial Creation. Where angels, and then humans, operated in self-will influenced by sin, instead of the will of Almighty GOD, the measure of divine spirit in the living, and the integrity and power of human will, became corrupted and defiled; and, from generation to generation has continued to diminish and lessen. For humans, death is the primary provision of GOD that can stop corruption from sin; for angels there must be termination in the lake of fire. Even so, salvation by GOD through Jesus Christ (repentance, death and rebirth), can both stop and reverse the various processes of corruption in a person’s life, including that begun through the sin of Eve and Adam.

The force and purity of human will has continued to decay since the transgression that occurred in Eden. The resource that was needed then—that GOD would have been present in full majesty—now is supplied through a greater measure of the spirit imparted from GOD, that was “purchased”, so to speak, for mankind at the Cross. Through the Holy Spirit, the nature and person of GOD are deposited within believers, who obey the Gospel. There is an infusion of divine will (we say “anointing”, “endowment”, “unction”, “divine DNA”) along with such sacred substance as faith, forgiveness, holiness, humility, longsuffering, love, mercy, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. (Keep in mind that, as the actual being of GOD, these sacred substances are inseparable; where one is found, all appear.)

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, self-will and human consciousness may be dominated by appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching) and faculties of mind (e.g., fantasy, forgetting, imagination, memory). Together, these are called “the flesh.” Mastery over the flesh is typically sought using the intellect, logic and rational mind. Following the flesh, mankind is blind and totally unable to recognize when sin—a “foreign”, non-human, outside influence—is present, and altering their attitudes, conduct, goals, and motives. Divine law has been given to assist mankind in realizing when sin is active along with the holy writings, the lives and testimonies of the apostles and prophets, the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, the examples of parents, spouses, children, clergy, and other men and women of faith, as well as the imparted, indwelling spirit from GOD, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/21/2012) Contradictions?

Response is made to a writer’s concern about several specific contradictions found in the Bible, and more is shared on doom, NWO and the believer’s focus upon human events. The “Yahoo! Answers” member using ID “Jessica” (Level 1 with 116 points, registered since October 21, 2011) posted the following:

Christians, who know the bible please help me to understand this contradiction?

And also how did judas die? Judas died how?

“And he cast down the pieces of silver into the temple and departed, and went out and hanged himself.” (MAT 27:5)

“And falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all of his bowels gushed out.” (ACT 1:18)

MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.

Please help

THE BATTLE AXE: Doom (09/20/2012)—While doom, fear of the dark, and fear of “the end of the world” are often spoken of as natural to the human condition, these all are forms of the “fear of death;” and are continuously employed against GOD through attacks made by the Deceiver (called the Adversary, the Devil, the accuser of the brethren, and the Father of Lies), upon other created beings and living creatures. Authority over life and death belong only to GOD, where fear, unbelief, and uncertainty are devices of the Wicked One. Concern for the New World Order (NWO) should be accounted as “beer in your milk.” Focus upon human instead of divine events result in many falling away, or continuing in spiritual confusion. Consider again Matthew 16: 21-25 and Mark 8: 31-35, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. (Matthew 22: 25-33, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Repelled by the Bible? (08/13/2012); Visions of Heaven (03/22/2012); The “Original” Bible (03/21/2012); Too Many Interpretations? (03/08/2012); Binder 6: The Plan Of This Work (10/03/2011); Prophecy Fails? (03/15/2011); Swearing? (09/30/2010); Bible Boring? (09/29/2010)

Be encouraged. Many will attempt to use the “problem” of Bible contradictions to convince you that the ancient writings cannot be respected and used as a platform for spiritual belief. More than this, they often argue, the contradictions demonstrate that GOD is somehow dishonest in exchange with mankind, imperfect, or even, nonexistent.

Until ones experiences of sacred writings are grounded in the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures will offer many challenges that result from various operations of mind as influenced by the flesh (e.g., fantasy, forgetting, flawed reasoning, rigidity, unbelief) along with self-will as influenced by sin (i.e., the effect and presence directing created beings and living creatures to oppose the existence of all law, Divine Person, and human identity). Many of the details readers select for focus are insignificant as points of spiritual truth, and do not serve in the same way as praise, proclamation, promise, prayer, and prophecy. The Scriptures provide a “god’s-eye-view” of human affairs recording thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years. As well as a chronicle of governments and kings, the Bible documents divine priesthood in the earth, multiple sacred covenants, repeated judgments and divine wrath against sin, as well as forgiveness and continuing grace.

What may appear as contradictions, errors, and inconsistencies are often explained by features in middle-eastern culture, customs and traditions. Other points of difference are resolved by “common sense” and discernment of the intent for the verse or passage. For example, Saul calls David “son”. This is correct in view of David’s place as “son-in-law.” More than this, David is recorded as “taken in” to Saul’s household as a “healer” and his personal musician. In this account, mature believers recognize a “type” depicting adoption through the Holy Spirit whereby we are made sons and daughters of the king. At a time when only two men in the army of Israel owned a sword (the king and his son), Jonathan, the son of Saul, gives his own armor as a gift to David just as Saul had offered his armor to him that he might meet Goliath in battle: there is a bestowing of the son’s inheritance upon whom he will, just as the father may do.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, many readers at first are confused to hear the Apostle Peter called “Simon” by Jesus, and later referred to as Cephas by John and Paul.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/20/2012) Doom

The “end of the world,” the New World Order (NWO), and more on fasting “after the spirit” are shared, today. An Internet writer using the ID “lalapef melfofo” (Level 2 with 618 points, a “Yahoo! Answers” member since July 30, 2012) posted the following:

How do people not see the end of the world is so close?

2012, here comes doom! The NWO is here

THE BATTLE AXE: Fasting “After the Spirit” (09/19/2012)—The practice of fasting with meditation that is often found in eastern traditions generally focuses upon making oneself empty in order to receive enlightenment and power by eliminating the action and content of mind along with other obstacles that entangle ones spirit. By contrast, the Christian practice of fasting is intended to make one full of the Holy Spirit, and is joined to prayer, partaking of the Lord’s Supper (also called Communion and the Holy Eucharist), and continuing active service to GOD. See Isaiah 58 and 1st Corinthians 11: 14-30, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (2nd Peter 3: 9-15, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Girdle 50: Unquenchable Life (01/06/2012); Binder 2: Why Begin With Scriptures? (09/29/2011); To Whom Much Is Given… (03/02/2011); Hoping for End? (11/06/2010); Getting Ready? (11/05/2010)

Here are some thoughts you may find useful:

How, why and what we know is determined by features of both our carnal and spiritual experience. The “end of the world” is not a “social truth” contained in our focus upon the goals, living routines and national imperatives of our family, our peer groups, or even our competitors and enemies. A person must accept the notion that the world (i.e., the order and patterns for existence created by mankind) exists infused with and surrounded by realities that are totally spirit in their nature and substance. To the extent one regards reality as including no more than the narrow dimensions of being carnal, material, physical and social, they commit one of mankind’s most common examples of “human error.”

Many Christian believers are convinced that true knowledge regarding the end of the world has been recorded among the holy writings that forecast and predict events of the final times. More correctly, the Holy Scriptures detail the operation of the Divine Person, and the sacred purposes that will be fulfilled through the course of eternity. There is a “big picture” that many miss by clutching at straws of detail. For example, believers must learn to say that demons and devils do not go to a “resting place,” to some grave (hell), or to a “final reward.” They are neither mortal nor immortal, and do not “die”. Instead, because they pursue complaining, insurrection, lawlessness and revolution, they go to judgment, imprisonment, and are destroyed in a lake of fire. Similarly, through the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD, believers acquire a completely new way of thinking that expounds incorruptibility and immortality for mankind through Jesus Christ, rather than by simple obedience of divine law.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, as a condition of existence for spirit, eternity is not a measure of time. Believers are not given accounts of devastation, ruin and violence, so much as proclamations of divine compassion, law, glory, and salvation. The many levels of intimacy and permanence for relationship with GOD must come into their view.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/19/2012) Fasting "After the Spirit"

Fasting “after the flesh” and “after the spirit” are considered today, along with more on whether believing brings about reincarnation and resurrection. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “mopar Mike” (Level 6 with 18,975 points, a member since December 23, 2008) posted the following:

Christians: Whats been your experience with fasting ? Has it significantly enhanced your Christian walk?

I’ve heard other Christian say it’s very effective in breaking strongholds.
Also. I realize fasting is not to pry God’s hand open in giving you what you want. I’m just curious as to your experience.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

THE BATTLE AXE: Does Believing Make It Happen? (09/18/2012)—For many reincarnation is an event in nature like reproduction, childbirth, toothache, and “growing up.” As a fixed and set condition of existence, reincarnation requires no explanation or justification: It just is. However, given such ideas as karma, and possibilities for movement through higher and lower levels of being (including divinity), reincarnation also speaks to “judgment”, and the valuing of life accomplishments. Given the absence of a divine person who presides over reincarnation, benefits, compensation, penalties and rewards are held to be distributed on a basis that is balanced, neutral, and “fair”. For Christians, power derives from being in correct relationship with Almighty GOD, and is more a product from acting according to belief than from simply believing. Without proper action, believing is fruitless, has no substance, and is no more than day-dreaming, fantasy and wishing. As a reality of judgment, all must face both the actual outcomes and consequences of their own deeds as well as appear in the full presence of the Holy One and Judge, who himself is the eternal standard for all substance, person and life. While as humans all our relationships entail change, conflict, instability, stress, and surprise, the contribution of relationships to life experience far exceeds the beauty, potential, power and richness of any life event, or mechanical process of nature and time.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, (Matthew 4: 3-5)

Be encouraged as you consider the following:

Where fasting is “after the flesh” its focus is upon abstinence from eating and drinking. One is made more introspective and self-aware, both through signals from their body, and from their mind as they break the usual rhythm of their day. Their consciousness is repeatedly directed to their own physical wellbeing as well as to the comfort and mechanics of their own organs. A person may miss meals, or endure hunger and thirst for many reasons (e.g., competition, health regimens, illness, lack of appetite, no food in their home, poverty, self-discipline, sleep, study, weight loss, work), thus, the practice of simply skipping meals is not regarded as automatically having spiritual benefit.

Where one fasts “after the spirit,” the time ordinarily used in preparing and taking meals is spent instead “consuming” the word of GOD. The focus of fasting is then upon humbling oneself to GOD, and confirms the divine truth that the spirit in man also must be nourished: man lives not by bread only, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD (see Deuteronomy 8: 2-3, King James Version). The holy writings are correctly understood as containing and supplying spiritual, rather than carnal, material and social substance.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, in the same way Christian believers are circumcised in the body and person of Jesus Christ, believers have already fasted 40 days and nights as did Moses. It is not necessary that we repeat all the sufferings that Christ has accomplished for us, beyond what will open our understanding, and establish us with him in his finished work.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/18/2012) Does Believing Make It Happen?

The importance of belief to reincarnation and resurrection are examined today; and there is more on unwelcome gifts. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Amanda” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since September 17, 2012) posted the following:

Do you have to believe in reincarnation for it to happen?

In many religions, the belief in its philosophies is required for the “stuff” to happen. (i.e. going to heaven and such). What about reincarnation? If I don’t believe in reincarnation, will it still happen? I’m not asking for proof of reincarnation, just whether or not belief in required for it to happen. Any websites that support your answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

THE BATTLE AXE: Unwelcome Gifts? (09/17/2012)—The scenario where a young man sees a young woman, wants to date her, sends her a note inviting her to coffee, begins to send flowers, tickets, small bits of jewelry, and bends the knee proposing does not always have a happy ending. She may turn down his invitations and inducements, and refuse to accept the offer of his ring. Does he “punish” her by pursuing the three other girls who like him? Does he behave as one “unloving” because he chooses a bride who will be faithful to him, and drops her completely from his radar? Many will agree that GOD may choose whom he will for eternal life. Yet, they insist GOD may not destroy those that oppose the beauty and purity he demands. What should GOD do with those who were cold, unfriendly, unresponsive, ungodly? Should he keep their names in his “little black book” of life? Or should he, in mercy, release them from ever having to see his face again?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (James 2: 14-19)

May I share some thoughts in response to your question? Many mature Christians now think of “reincarnation” as an explanation of human reality that describes life and death as a repeating, mechanical process. Reincarnation, spoken of as “the wheel of life,” is very different from “resurrection,” the restoration of life to the dead that results in judgment, and the final end of all mortal existence. Escaping the wheel is by choosing “Jacob’s ladder.” (Incorruptibility and immortality are bestowed upon those believing in Christ.) Questions about how the “machine” was created, or how the “cycle” first begun are not clearly addressed. There are no explanations of who might have begun the process, who may be continuing and maintaining the process, or whom we could ask to complete and shut down the process. Mankind and other living things are held to be subject to the process of reincarnation in spite of their beliefs, consciousness, desire or will.

For Christians, resurrection absolutely will happen for both the righteous and the wicked dead: every person that has ever lived will appear before GOD in judgment to make answer for himself, or herself. Separation of those who are believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ from those who are not has already begun through a process of “self-selection” by those who have heard the Gospel presented. Their responses and life choices set them apart as a chosen people of GOD alive in the earth.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, Christian belief centers upon relationships for created beings and living creatures, among themselves and with GOD their Creator. Many sacred processes come into view, however, few of them are “mechanical” and just go forward independent of GOD, and on their own. Included are death, eternal life, forgiveness, judgment, love, rebirth, repentance, resurrection, salvation, and sanctification.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
