(03/31/2014) The Temple Mount

Added points for consideration are posted, today, that speak to the issue of Christians, Islamic believers, and Jews sharing the Temple Mount located in divided Israel/Palestine.  While we still have the freedom to go further in our focus upon this topic, the drivers of commerce and trade, the politicians of America, and the secular thinkers of the United Nations appear totally unwilling to acknowledge the spiritual concerns and needs of those in the Middle East Region, or those in covenant and submission to GOD world-wide.  As ants and other crawling things might be barred as “unclean”, it may be necessary to agree that men are no longer fit to stand on holy ground.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Holy Ground (03/30/2014)—(6.)  The essential work of divine law is to establish and maintain the frameworks, and order that generates the universe and all life.  Sacred law also expresses and reveals the character and eternal purpose of the Law Giver.  There are many points of consideration within the law that pertain to acknowledgement of holy ground.  Those agreeing to take up the law also must accept the rule that any contradictions are in their own minds, and not in the divine intent, or in the record of what GOD has spoken.  (7.)  Mankind appears to be presuming that human ownership and use of holy ground (for fasting, prayer, study, worship) is as legitimate as any divine use of holy ground, or is somehow a sharing of holy ground with GOD, when, in fact, it is not.  (8.)  The agenda and priorities for those churches and faith organizations who seek part in the economy of Israel through relief programs and tourism must be re-examined.  Many are unintentionally spreading spiritual confusion, and infecting legitimate efforts to establish the will of GOD by promoting their own carnal, material and subtle (i.e., barely visible, deceptive, hidden) conflicts of interest.  (9.)  Atonement for sin can be recognized as dependent upon active operations of divinity such as grace and mercy in place of human ceremonies, material offerings, rituals, and sacrifice.  While blood was correctly recognized as the vessel that carries and distributes life essence (we say, spirit) throughout ones body, blood itself is not spirit matter, and should be regarded only as flesh.  (Blood spilled to the earth through murder and warfare defiles a plot of ground making it unclean (we say, unfit) for sacred use.  Once cursed, the soil may be restored only by the blood of the slayers.)  A holy table (we say, altar) was required as a point of contact between heaven and earth; and the altar served as a platform for transferring gifts.  Only consecrated fire could be used to destroy flesh, and the unseen, nonmaterial, non-spirit sin that was placed upon animals for sacrifice.  At the same time corruption was being obliterated, spirit content from works of righteousness (e.g., gratitude, love, obedience, praise, repentance) were being released up to GOD.  It is a further benefit of redemption that those purchased from the altar become living sacrifices, and the demands for atonement then may be satisfied through life processes such as the practice of childbearing, confession, forbearance, forgiveness, unselfish giving, penitence, prayer, and reconciliation.  (10.)  Surely, it would be foolish to insist that there is only one geographical location upon the entire earth that is holy unto GOD, and then have it overrun by the traffic of mankind.  Surely, where men insist their sins must be brought before GOD on holy ground, eliminated, and removed, the holy place could not be a place for GOD to enter into divine contemplation, rest, and hallowed refreshing.  Many of those having issues regarding access to GOD are focused upon features that are material and vain; as a result, their arguments concerning spiritual benefits are specious.  Surely, it would be more profitable to establish a shared resolve that, once we have access granted by GOD, we will display to the Almighty only what is acceptable as comfort, praise, respect, thanksgiving, and proper worship.  At the least the Mount is to know a Sabbath.  See again Hosea 6:  1-7, Matthew 9:  9-17, Romans 10:  1-3 and Romans 11:  1-36, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  (John 4:  23-24, KJV)

There are many more points to be made regarding the Temple Mount of today that may be featured in future blog presentations.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of divinity that resides within you.

Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night:  that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth:  The LORD is his name:  (Amos 5:  8, KJV)

(03/30/2014) Holy Ground

Today, some points for consideration are posted that speak to the issue of Christians, Islamic believers, and Jews sharing the Temple Mount located in Jerusalem.  All who would know the peace of GOD in our times must be prepared to prevail over finite, human pride, and to correctly embrace an eternal divine perspective.  Created beings and living creatures do not bestow or impart divinity, glory and holiness upon GOD; rather, GOD endows duration, existence and person to Creation.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.  Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem:  and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.  And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.  (Zechariah 8:  2-6, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Cleansing the Temple, and the Body (03/16/2014); GOD to “Try Harder”? (03/17/2014); Money-changers in The Temple? (06/23/2013); Believers and the Cross (06/24/2013); Putting GOD First? (06/02/2013); The Need to Purify Heaven (01/17/2013); The Golden Age? (01/10/2013); Translation, Please… (01/11/2013); Mob Rule and Violence (09/27/2012); Suppose I Am Wrong? (09/28/2012)

By now, the things of our various religious traditions should have prepared us to correctly grasp the earliest things given to mankind as well as all that has become available through Jesus Christ for a mature understanding of divinity.  Consider again the following points:

1.  As with the place where Moses saw a bush that burned without giving off smoke, or showing any ashes, and was told to “take off his shoes,” the Temple mount must be understood as holy by the divine presence, rather than by the appearance of natural forces such as fire, lightning, water, and winds.  To avoid the posting of a divine sentinel (with a flaming sword that turns every way) as was done at the entrance to the Garden of Eden, there absolutely must be dutifulness, honor, humility, respect, and reverence.

2.  To sanctify is to cleanse and set apart as exclusively for sacred use.
Rather than from awe, fear of destruction, perplexity, or threats of doom the sanctity of the Temple Mount for mankind may be established only through enlightenment, genuine love, and the many operations by the spirit from GOD that may indwell created beings and living creatures (this would include angels) for the accomplishment of eternal purpose without conflict, corruption or violence.

3.  Confusion about GOD inhabiting natural objects and forces resulted in false worship at groves, “high places,” and shrines that was little different than astrology, divinization, idolatry, star-gazing, or worship of the moon and sun.

4.  The clear teaching that GOD may be in covenant relationship to mankind is seen with Abraham.  That a Spirit from the makeup and substance of GOD may indwell mankind is seen first with Adam, and appears later with Moses and the 70 elders elected to govern along with the Levites and Aaronic priesthood.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  More than a trade agreement or treaty among men is called for.  There must be accord with GOD (some say, sacred covenant) wherein the divine purpose can be revealed as directed to building, cleansing, healing, life, and love for all created beings and living creatures even more than to death, judgment, punishment, warfare, and wrath.  It is necessary to ask, What is it GOD wants from us, and what may we do today, that is to endure and shape all mankind in the years that are ahead?)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.  (Proverbs 21:  30, KJV)

(03/29/2014) The Storm-battered City?

Jerusalem and prophecy are the focus, today, along with more on divine sleep or rest.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Shawn” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since March 28, 2014) posted the following:

Confusing bible verse?

in Isaiah 54: 11 it says:

"O storm-battered city, troubled and desolate! I will rebuild you with precious jewels and make your foundations from lapis lazuli."

What does this really mean?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Divine Sleep (03/28/2014)—(5.)  Mankind is not to become complacent, give up, quit, or become slack.  Correctly understood, what appear to be breaks in the ongoing operations and process of eternal divinity are to be seen as shifts that take into account the abilities and needs of created beings and living creatures.  Thus, the great flood of Noah’s day was not the “end of the world” as a continuing focus of divinity.  Prophesies recorded in the Scriptures have been provided through a single person during the reign of many kings, over the course of many years, perhaps naming various nations, and in a series of experiences that share much of the same imagery, intent, language, and revelation.  Similarly, that no anointed prophet in the tradition of Moses was sent from GOD following Malachi until John the Baptist did not end the use of prophecy and divine spokespersons in flesh.  Many sacred operations that were begun before what we now have as the sphere of human existence are still unfolding, and will continue to completion long after the end of sin, and the finish of present-day salvation.  Our dependency and the righteousness of GOD demands continued contact and exchange with the living; and, once fully transformed to be immortal and incorruptible, there will be more direct participation for the heirs of GOD with Christ in the fulfillment of the eternal purposes of GOD.   Consider again Deuteronomy 31:  16-18, Judges 6:  11-16, Isaiah 57:  15-21, 1st Corinthians 13:  8-13, Isaiah 65:  17-24 and Revelation 21:  3-8, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Let not your heart be troubled:  ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father’s house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  (John 14:  1-6, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Unclear Scriptures? (03/18/2014); Needing Guns To Serve? (03/19/2014); The Earth Made New (11/13/2013); The Earth Made New (11/14/2013); The Place of GOD? (06/01/2013); Putting GOD First? (06/02/2013); A Golden Ticket? (11/30/2012); And This Was Good News (12/01/2012)

“Shawn”, here are a few points many Christian believers have found useful when challenged by Scripture verses:

(1.)  Prophesies are messages from GOD that may provide divine comfort, exhortation (we say, encouragement, urging), edification (we say, building up), proclamation, promise, reassurance, and warning.  A single statement may convey all these aspects of utterance (we say, breath, life essence, spirit, word), or some combination of sacred truths.

(2.)  Jerusalem, is called the Holy City, and the City of GOD.  Even so, many prophetic messages are recorded that threaten the destruction of Jerusalem in response to conditions established by error, false worship, idolatry, and sin.  Multiple abuses of Jerusalem have been allowed by GOD intended to further reveal divine authority, justice, eternal process, and sovereignty.

(3.)  Divine love, mercy, and he righteousness of GOD demonstrated through covenant and judgment are depicted throughout the holy writings by operations for cleansing (e.g., atonement, baptism), by proclamations of forbearance and forgiveness as well as through visions of renewal, survival for a remnant, the coming of the kingdom of GOD and Messiah (i.e., the permanent government and rule of a divine agent from GOD among mankind).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Jesus Christ is held to be the Son of GOD, the divine agent, Messiah, and “the One Sent.”  Being resurrected from death and burial, Christ ascended into heaven to prepare a “new city” as a dwelling for those lifted from the earth as his disciples, servants, and joint-heirs.  This New Jerusalem is described in the Book of Revelation using images and language that agree with those found in the writings of Isaiah.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.  And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him:  his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.  (Daniel 7:  13-14, KJV)

(03/28/2014) Divine Sleep

Among the topics, today, are death, incarnation, and divine rest.  Also, there is more on the spirit content of Scripture.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Mario” (Level 4 with 2,909 points, a member since September 27, 2006) posted the following:

Does God ever Sleep, Or Does He Just Rest?

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Nature of Scripture (03/27/2014)—(5.)  Because there is spiritual breadth, clarity, coherence, continuity, depth, active process, and necessary all-encompassing scale, believers are able to speak of the holy writings as a “living word” from GOD.  The Scriptures are to reside within the consciousness of believers as the foundation for their personal truth as followers of Jesus Christ, and is no less essential to human awareness and comprehension than the frameworks of time and space.  While knowledge of the Scriptures is to expand, grow, and ripen (we say, mature), the focus is not upon analysis, intellect, logic, mental functions (e.g., imagination, memorization, recall), reason, and theorizing.  Divine spirit content within the believer is to be amplified, directed, nourished, and supplemented.  A partnership for flesh and spirit is called forth that further establishes mankind in the image of GOD, and as the most unique expression for acknowledgment and worship of GOD throughout the universe.  See again Psalms 119:  97-106, 142, 144, 160 and Mark 4:  1-25, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane:  and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.  And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;  And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death:  tarry ye here, and watch.  And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.  And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me:  nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.  And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?  Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.  The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.  (Mark 14:  32-38, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  To Keep It Holy (02/23/2014); 7 “Godly” Sins? (02/24/2014); Jesus Rose? (11/08/2013); About Sabbath (10/16/2013); We Shall Behold Him (10/17/2013); Must We Really Die? (05/13/2013); Can GOD Die? (05/14/2013); The Church as a Bride? (05/15/2013); Understanding Hell (01/09/2013); The Golden Age? (01/10/2013)

“Mario”, here are some important points on divine rest and sleep that have helped many Christian believers avoid error and spiritual confusion:

(1.)  GOD is a spirit who has put forth existence and life for created beings and living creatures as well as the spheres for their activity and interaction.  GOD is not a substance such as cloud, fog, mist, smoke or steam that are all made up of material particles.  GOD appears to sentient beings as active and present by using aspects of living process such as awareness, desire, intent, purpose, and will.  The makeup of GOD is inseparable spirit matter (where one feature appears, all are present).  Included are faith, forbearance, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Eternal GOD engages Creation through multiple divine operations such as atonement, baptism (death of ones inborn nature, rebirth having a divine nature), judgment, redemption, prayer, salvation, and sanctification.  Only when appearing as incarnate (having form as flesh and blood) does GOD require rest and sleep for the special balance that must be supplied to optimize exercise and work, and to restore physical energy.

(3.)  The Bible does not speak of GOD sleeping, or the divine consciousness (we say, the mind of GOD) being temporarily disengaged, “shut down,” or unfocused as with created beings and living creatures.  Where divine rest is spoken of, believers are to understand a shift in activity that follows completion of some phase or stage in works that are on a cosmic scale.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Life is GOD’s intent, and death is GOD’s tool.  Death is spoken of as “sleep” to indicate that divine controls are in place limiting the duration and outcomes of death.  GOD will make a “wake up call” to all the dead (we say, resurrect, restore life for the purpose of judgment).  Within the full GODhead, the Almighty continues using the form of a human body in the person of Jesus, that is both immortal and incorruptible.  Jesus will not sleep or die again; and will endure as everlasting and permanent.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.  (1st Corinthians 16:  13, KJV)

(03/27/2014) The Nature of Scripture

Focus, today, is upon how the spirit content of Scriptures set them apart as holy writings.  Also, there is more on conversion and coming to Jesus.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Mark Ward”  (Level 3 with 1,148 points, a member since May 29, 2012) posted the following:

Tim 3:16-17 identifies Scripture as inspired by God. Therefore other writings can be scripture?

2 Tim 3:16 -17 does not identify the Bible, it says "All scripture is inspired by God" Therefore, if God inspired other men to write His words, are they not Scripture? Or do you close your bible as the only word because God would not communicate to any non- JEW?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Saul of Tarsus (03/26/2014)—Paul participated in the persecution of the early church, because he was convinced that Jesus was the leader of a dangerous cult.  He thought of Jesus as a criminal, a “low-life”, a blasphemer, and one who spread an infectious heresy.  Even so, Saul was divinely privileged to see, hear and choose for himself to deny or receive a place as joint-heir with Christ.  Not all who are granted the opportunities given them correctly conclude by acknowledging Jesus as Messiah, Savior, and Lord.  Many insist on their own long-held beliefs and errors.  Some “can’t believe their own eyes and ears,” and in that sense, they deny reality, and dismiss the truth from their own experiences of divinity.  Others seek to explain their experiences in line with intellect, logic, and science, and so “explain away” the aspects of spirit from GOD.  Such persons argue themselves out of sacred truth.  Change, conversion, and spiritual growth goes forward for all only by divine revelation.  The process first centers in flesh, then in spirit; first there is the natural followed by the supernatural.  See again John 1:  32-40 and 48-50, John 3:  2 and 26, John 6:  25, Philippians 3:  3-11, Acts 5:  34, Acts 22:  3, and Acts 7:  51-60, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.  (1st Peter 1:  22-25, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Bible is Unchanging? (03/23/2014); Genuine Repentance? (03/24/2014); Unclear Scriptures? (03/18/2014); Needing Guns To Serve? (03/19/2014); Why Bother to Read? (10/31/2013); GOD Speaking Through Songs? (11/01/2013); By Inspiration of GOD (10/27/2013); According to This Word (09/20/2013); His Burden Is Light? (09/21/2013)

“Mark Ward”, here are a few points you may find helpful:

(1.)  There must be fixed standards in place for believers to correctly and consistently identify divine incarnations (appearance of divinity using recognizable forms that may include human flesh), eternal purpose, holy writings, sacred process, and other spiritual phenomena.  Christian believers trust that GOD Almighty has generated (we say, revealed) the very material necessary so that divinity may be acknowledged and reverenced by all created beings and living creatures.

(2.)  GOD is a spirit who has put forth spirit content as well as the material and physical sphere for human reality.  The makeup of divinity appears to be such inseparable features as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  While faith is made up entirely of faith, and holiness is made up only of holiness, such aspects of GOD always appear together, and interact to establish the active presence, authority, and power of divine being.

(3.)  There are many sacred operations to impart spirit content to the living. Included are anointing, atonement, baptism (death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth having a fresh endowment of divine spirit), forbearance, forgiveness, judgment, resurrection, sanctification, and utterance (we say, breath, spirit, and word in the forms of commandment, praise, prayer, proclamation, promise, prophecy, etc.).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Just as the Scriptures serve as a standard to recognize “scriptures”, they serve as a standard to discern sin.  Sin is an invisible, nonmaterial, non-spirit influence that may dominate finite awareness and self-will in created beings (that includes angels).  Intellect, logic, reason and science do not allow mankind to eliminate sin; however, fresh endowments of divinity through Jesus Christ equip believers to resist and overcome much of the damage caused through sin.  Sin opposes the continuation of divine law and divine order essential to maintaining the universe, opposes the continued existence of GOD, and opposes continuation of the Creation put forth by GOD.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.  (Exodus 33:  16, KJV)

(03/26/2014) Saul of Tarsus

Focus, today, is upon conversion and coming to Jesus as shown in the experience of Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles.  Also, there is more on when advice/rules should be obeyed as law.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “rachel m” (Level 3 with 2,498 points, a member since March 18, 2007) posted the following:

Was Jesus a Rabbi? if so, then he broke all his own rules.?

i cant understand how Jesus became so popular. i DO NOT mean to be disrespectful but why Jesus??? there were many just like him at the same time so what was so special about him??

THE BATTLE AXE:  When Is A Law The LAW? (03/25/2014)—The operations of sin influence created  beings and living creatures to despise and reject godliness in all its forms.  During his ministry upon the earth, Jesus contended against formalism (i.e., exaggerated and strict adherence to customs, traditions and practices as though their observance will satisfy all aspects of divine law). The Savior revealed that formalism is a source of confusion, error, and sin no less than idolatry that centers in worship of the law, rather than the divine law giver.  The law may become an instrument of death, and a shield to transgression where emotion, fear, and emphasis upon obedience to law are primary aspects of focus and belief.  A saving relationship with GOD, who is a spirit, may only be achieved by application of imparted, indwelling spirit matter—ones inward law.  A highly developed legal apparatus was in place that blinded men to the spirit substance of the law.  In addition to commandments, ordinances, and statutes that we immediately recognize as “the law,” the holy writings also document rulings from the system of judges who were appointed to resolve conflicts and disputes along with the pronouncements and verdicts from GOD that identify and condemn sin.  The Scriptures also provide advice and counsel that have come forth from GOD, and therefore, has been acknowledged and valued as having the same force and power as divine law.  These added treasures from GOD appear in the form of instruction, parables (we say, object lessons), precepts, principles, prophecies, warnings, and wisdom.  Consider Exodus 18:  13-26, Leviticus 18:  3-5, Deuteronomy 1:  13-17, Deuteronomy 4:  1-20, Psalms 111:  10, Proverbs 1:  7, Proverbs 9:  10, Proverbs 21:  30, Matthew 13:  33-35, 2nd Timothy 3: 16-17 and 2nd Peter 1:  19, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:  for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto him:  neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  (1st Corinthians 2:  9-14, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Faith Given By GOD (03/13/2014); Miracles Are From GOD (03/14/2014); The Benefit of Grace (03/19/2013); Magical Resurrection? (03/20/2013); Given the Cloud of Witnesses (11/29/2012); A Golden Ticket? (11/30/2012); And This Was Good News (12/01/2012); A Need to Fear? (12/02/2012); The Slave to Law and Sin Made Free (11/16/2012); Lawful Divorce (11/17/2012)

“rachel m”, here are a few points you might want to consider before you just “give up on it” altogether:

(1.)  The Apostle Paul stands out for expressing feelings similar to yours when he first began to examine the “Jesus phenomena.”  As a dedicated and much respected scholar of Jewish law and culture, Saul of Tarsus, volunteered to serve as an officer of the Sanhedrin Court.  In effect, the Pharisee became “the Lord, High Executioner,” officially commissioned to destroy the early church.  He was given authority to offer bribes, kick down doors, take names, make arrests, torture, and preside over public executions by stoning.

(2.)  Saul had his own personal experience of Christ.  At first it came by hearing others preach, and proclaim the doctrines and teachings endorsed by Jesus.  He became impressed by the confidence, certainty, and conviction among those who were his victims.  At the same time, Saul saw gentleness, goodness, and the same spiritual power appearing among the Lord’s disciples that had been reported as shown by Jesus.  There is no report of Saul having been in any of the gatherings where Jesus healed and preached before the Lord’s crucifixion.  Yet, the stoning of a deacon, Stephen, the first martyr of the church, allowed Saul an experience within his own living spirit as if he had been physically present at the death of Jesus.

(3.)  Finally, as he was traveling to Damascus, Saul had a direct experience of Christ.  He was overwhelmed by what he heard and saw; and for three days remained blind.  Saul was himself as if dead for three days; and a disciple was sent to heal and restore him.  After instruction, he chose to honor and serve Jesus, first by accepting baptism (death of ones inborn spirit nature, rebirth having a new spirit nature from GOD), then by sharing his testimony, by personally protecting the church of Jesus, and by spreading the Gospel in places where it might not otherwise be heard.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  All non-believers go through the same overall process that Paul experienced.  Certainly, the details of a believer’s testimony and witness that proclaims their encounter with Christ will vary from person to person.   Nonetheless, the spiritual process of GOD is fixed, immutable, and has not changed.   By what they share and show, the disciples of Jesus (i.e., ordinary people in flesh and blood) prepare those who will finally come to Christ to have their own clear experience of his presence in their lives.)  Stay alert, for where you truly want answers from GOD, more are on the way.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:  but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 3:  13-14, KJV)

(03/25/2014) When Is A Law The LAW?

Today, focus is upon the nature and process of divine law.  Also, there is more on genuine repentance.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Aaron Aaron Aaron” (Level 2 with 953 points, a member since April 06, 2013) posted the following:

Is not obeying gods advice/rules, a sin? (protestant christian)?

before you think of some sarcastic comment against christians, if you don't have anything intelligent to say, please dont say anything at all. thanks

For example, if god says, in the bible...to be wise, is it a sin to not be wise? an example of not being wise as say, swearing infront of other people when trying to promote a positive testamoney.

thank you :)

THE BATTLE AXE:  Genuine Repentance? (03/24/2014)—(4.)  The repentance we speak of as Christian believers pertains to more than courtesy, good, manners, politeness, and social etiquette.  An apology is merely a verbal event wherein one expresses embarrassment, feelings of guilt, and sentiments of regret and remorse.  To repent must be more than an intellectual or mental act wherein one simply changes ones mind.  Repentance is a “return to GOD” by turning ones awareness, spirit content, and self-will away from sin.  Christian repentance is carried out through the Spirit of GOD, and is more than a one-time religious event such as church attendance.  The believer is given a “new heart.”  Repentance is triggered as an awareness that is called “godly sorrow”, and often is first called into view through confession.  Later, repentance is regularly displayed as a continuing pattern in the life of created beings and living creatures that derives from their fresh endowment of Spirit from GOD.  See 1st Samuel 7:  2-4, 2nd Chronicles 30:  8-9, Isaiah 55:  6-8, Jeremiah 24:  6-8, and Ezekiel 18:  20-32, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?  Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?  Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?  For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.  For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law:   but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.  Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?  And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?  For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.  (Romans 2:  21-29, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Benefit of Law? (11/15/2013); Are Holidays Bad? (11/16/2013); Angels, Law and Sin (10/18/2013); Law A Schoolmaster? (10/03/2013); Was Jesus Literate? (10/04/2013); Gentiles and the Law? (09/19/2013); Weed and Godly Wisdom (09/15/2013); The Limit to Believing? (09/16/2013); Law in Christian Belief? (09/03/2013); A Need to Know? “Aaron Aaron Aaron” your excellent questions calls for an excellent answer.  For many Christian believers what you ask has to do with how to recognize practices, statements, and utterances that have the force of divine law.  One of the most important accomplishments through the ministry of Jesus Christ has been to clarify the function, process, eternal purpose, and sacred nature of law.  Because many believers are first introduced to divine law as the Ten Commandments (some say, the Decalogue), the idea continues to be mistakenly held that divine law is punitive; centers only on various prohibitions, punishments, and restrictions (thou shalt not); and was intended only for the Jews.  Because the law expresses and reveals divinity there absolutely must be law.

Through the holy writings, followers of Jesus understand there have been many covenant agreements (we say, lawful contracts)  established that further bind mankind to GOD.  Included are covenant agreements with Adam, Noah, the one we know as the “law of Moses,” the covenant of David, and the New Testament in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Christ has taught keeping the law requires more than ceremonies, social customs, rituals, and traditions.  The spirit substance of the law must be maintained in attitudes, behavior, conduct, and relationships.  Thus, only those “without sin” may cast the first stone as the agents of GOD and his sinless law.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, of GOD as the Law Giver and Judge, and of a Creation that continues only through the orderly process of law.

Where believers say that Christ has “fulfilled the law” by his death on the cross, some err thinking this means there are no more restrictions upon self-will.  Many are defiant and reject church attendance and other participation in communities of faith, because they must yield to discipline, policy, and standard procedures that appear no different than law.  Such must acquire discernment (ability to use their own endowment of spirit matter from the makeup of GOD to examine and recognize the spirit content in such things as events, objects, persons, and purposes).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, the power of the law derives from its spirit, and not merely its letter.  Many confronted Jesus who practiced as lawyers and scribes, and regularly argued the specific words and precise application of the law (we say, technicalities).   It’s like our law regarding “drug free zones” around schools.  Most sellers and users are shocked to find there is no two-inch or two-feet exception; and that elementary, middle and high schools are not the only protected locations.  Nursery school, daycare, playgrounds, and after school program areas are also embraced.)  Where you truly want answers from GOD, there is far more on its way.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.  Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.  (Romans 7:  12-13, KJV)

(03/24/2014) Genuine Repentance?

Simple apologies, children, deceit, judgment, lies, and damnation are among the topics, today, along with more on the unchanging nature of the Bible.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Ms Spin Cycle” (Level 6 with 20,245 points, a member since May 08, 2013) posted the following:

So let me get this straight. In Christianity, unrepentant sinners go to hell. But if you say you're sorry, you?

get heaven?! That's odd. Any toddler or small child, especially the beautiful little girl ones, know how to keep on doing something wrong and then say sorry and be cute to get out of trouble. But there comes a time when you have to tell the little princess that they still must be punished, that this game isn't going to work anymore. But in Christianity, the god lets people continue with this? Just so long as they say sorry, they get heaven? Even child sex traffickers? And you think this god is wise and just?

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Bible is Unchanging? (03/23/2014)—(4.)  For mankind the Bible is to be understood as displaying the fixed and permanent feelings and thoughts of GOD.  Divine operations, sacred events, life process, eternal purpose, and intimate relationship with divinity are described using discrete elements and terms that acknowledge the flesh (e.g., appetite such as hunger, thirst, sexual cravings; sense such as hearing, seeing, touch; and emotional/mental functions such as desire, fear, imagination, recall) as well as the human frameworks of gender, space, and time.  While GOD and truth are immutable, the revelation of divinity to finite beings must respond to patterns of gradual development and growth, and therefore appear as intermittent, progressive, and sequential.  The living change in accordance with multiple demands for both decrease and increase.  There may be unpredictable shifts in ones acceptance and rejection, distance and nearness to truth; while the truth itself is endless, everlasting, perpetual, and uninterrupted.  See Deuteronomy 32:  3-4, Numbers 23:  19, Psalms 100:  1-5, Psalms 119:  142, Romans 1:  17-19 and 1st John 4:  5-7, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance:  for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.  For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of:  but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.  (2nd Corinthians 7:  9-11, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  How Do I Repent? (05/16/2013); The “Jesus Way”? (05/17/2013); Repentance Must Come Before Resurrection (04/27/2013); Destroyed in Noah’s Flood? (04/28/2013); Unless You Repent (03/05/2013); The Childhood of Jesus? (03/06/2013); The Backslider (09/13/2012); What He Died For (09/14/2012); Chances for Change (09/15/2012); The Gospel not Logical? (09/16/2012)

“Ms Spin Cycle”, here are a few points to help you get it straight that you may have overlooked in your sincere search for Christian truth:

(1.)  Genuine repentance is a spiritual operation carried out within a believer by interactions among the spirit matter from the makeup of Almighty GOD.  Born again through baptism (death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak), the believer must develop and “grow again” under the influence of sacred substance while still upon the earth, and subject to the same life experiences and “growing pains” of human existence as those not yet in Christ.  Through the ministry of Jesus, inseparable aspects of divine makeup are received by the believer such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, truthfulness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Creation displays the active presence of GOD through created beings and living creatures, continuity, diversity, and wonder.  However, the power of divinity also is particularly revealed (we may say, discovered) as righteous and sovereign through Judgment.  More than simply punishment, judgment features cleansing, correction, forbearance, forgiveness, healing, mercy, and eternal life.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  The focus of divine judgment is not nasty attitudes, bad habits, occasional misdeeds, naughtiness, or warped sexual expressions.  The spirit content of created beings and living creatures (that includes angels) will be examined.  Sin alters and distorts ones spirit substance.  Neither Christ (who presides as Judge), nor Satan (who will be destroyed) will be in a role as ones accuser.  Those who come to judgment must answer only the record of their own deeds as recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life.)  Where you truly want answers from GOD, there is far more on its way.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up.  Selah.  God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.  (Psalms 57:  3, KJV)

(03/23/2014) The Bible is Unchanging?

The Scriptures and the unchanging process of GOD are topics, today.  Also, there is more on Christian belief having a guarantee of heaven for Jews.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “riley” (Level 1 with 189 points, a member since March 19, 2014) posted the following:

Do Christians really believe the bible hasn't been changed?

There are 25,000 different versions of the bible world wide, none that agree with each other. There are 212 in English alone. But Christians say the bible has never been changed. Sigh. Another reason Christianity is false.

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Guarantee of Heaven? (03/22/2014)—(4.)  In the same way there are many, today, who say they are “non-practicing Catholics” (i.e., nominal believers; Catholics in name only), there have always been those who are “cultural Jews,” “non-religious Jews,” and “secular Jews” who deny being in covenant with GOD, and insist there is no divine inheritance.  Such believers despise the grace of GOD, and so cancel all possibility that they too may receive communion, divine gifts, and the experience of fellowship in heaven.  Mankind first identified promises from GOD while listening as the Creator rebuked the serpent in the Garden of Eden.  Divine intent and purpose were revealed that further established destiny and prophecy for those upon the earth.  For both Christians and Jews, the word of GOD is absolutely true, and unchanging.  Yet, what they embrace as guarantees for heaven are not totally dependent upon the process of GOD, because spirit and flesh must be in agreement and congruence.   Consider again 1st Samuel 2:  30, Psalms 34:  17-19, Psalms 51:  6-17, Isaiah 45:  16-18, Isaiah 57:  12-21, John 6:  51-66, Romans 2:  28-29, Romans 10:  1-4, 2nd Timothy 3:  1-5 and Hebrews 10:  16-29, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.  (Matthew 22:  29, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Immutable GODhead (03/10/2014); The Right Place to Get Knowledge (02/17/2014); Arguing Against the Bible in Church? (02/18/2014); Snake Handling? (02/19/2014); Why Bother to Read? (10/31/2013); GOD Speaking Through Songs? (11/01/2013); What to Take Literally (03/11/2013); A GOD of War? (03/12/2013); A Text for Lives Today? (11/25/2012); Pornography from the Bible? (11/26/2012)

“Riley”, I am sure an expert on the Bible like yourself will agree that those who want to denounce Christianity as false usually have not considered the following points:

(1.)  An unchanging process of GOD that was used to establish Creation is continued and repeated in other divine operations such as covenant, judgment, revelation, salvation, and sanctification.  Existence is established for created beings and living creatures through divine acts and sacred events that would remain otherwise unknown except through further provisions by divinity.

(2.)  No one lacking faith (even yourself) will ever comprehend how the Bible exists as a divine tool that conveys and imparts the same spirit matter that continues to be in Jesus Christ.  Believers make the connect because they receive various inseparable aspects of divinity (where one appears, all appear).  Included are discernment, faith, focus, holiness, forgiveness, longsuffering, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  For those so anointed and endowed, the holy writings are intimate and organic (we say, privileged and alive); and are not merely a mess of paper pages.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  GOD is an eternal and unchanging spirit who has put forth created beings and living creatures along with the aspects of their continuity, their reproduction, their sphere of existence, and the mechanisms for their termination.  Unlike the angels, who are neither mortal nor immortal, mankind is designed to acquire knowledge of truth through experiences of change and diversity (we say, spiritual growth).  Of course, multiple customs, languages, and traditions surround the Bible; and mature Christian believers ignore all that.  Salvation comes only by the Spirit of Truth that must be discovered within ones own core.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  (Ephesians 6:  10-12, KJV)

(03/22/2014) A Guarantee of Heaven?

Whether covenant people have been guaranteed a place in heaven is the topic, today.  Also, there is more on judgment, punishment and divine retribution.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Ksh” (Level 5 with 7,777 points, a member since February 25, 2012) posted the following:

Are Jews guaranteed Heaven according to Christianity..?

you know, gods chosen people ans all..

THE  BATTLE AXE:  Beyond Punishment (03/21/2014)—Further goals of judgment are purification and reconciliation.  However, retribution and retaliation are often the aim when delivering punishment (we say, “an eye for and eye,” and “payback”).  Inflicting harm upon others as judgment is addressed within the Bible through the laws provided to establish and maintain order among those who left Egypt along with Moses.  Also, the principle of blessing and cursing introduced at that time continues to be an important aspect of divine operations among mankind.  Divine blessing and cursing are “on condition,” and what a person finally receives will be in accordance with their own actions, attitudes, choices and decisions.  Neither death nor punishment can finish, or satisfy all the demands for full justice.  Therefore, throughout the Scriptures both death and punishment appear repeatedly in order to indicate that there will be eternal judgment.  Sacred events that may appear to be punishment for sins may be, instead, admonition and warning, divine proclamation, fulfillment of promise or prophecy, operations that pertain to repentance as well as the mechanical outworking of processes within the flesh (e.g., circulation, hearing, fornication, respiration, seeing, thought), for material matter (aging, contraction, expansion, rot), and for aspects of the natural world (e.g., erosion, gravity, ice, fire, moonlight, rain, sunlight, wind, water).  See Deuteronomy 30:  15-20, Exodus 21:  22-25, Job 19:  29, Proverbs 13:  21-22, Matthew 23:  13-39 and 1st Corinthians 2:  12-14, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool:  where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?  For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD:  but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.  He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear:  but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.  Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified:  but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.  (Isaiah 66:  1-5, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Chosen To Serve As Prophets (01/01/2014); Lawful Revenge? (01/02/2014); The Earth Made New (11/13/2013); Hierarchy (11/14/2013); The Place of GOD? (06/01/2013); Putting GOD First? (06/02/2013); The Children, not the Dogs (03/17/2013); Why Jesus Must Be A Jew (03/18/2013); The Benefit of Grace (03/19/2013); The Need to Purify Heaven (01/17/2013); The Place for Eternal Life? (01/06/2013); Therefore There Was Trust (01/07/2013)

“Ksh”, many of those who continue to receive blessings from GOD, because they also continue to bless Israel, would be likely to agree with you where your belief and practice acknowledges the following points:

(1.)  Fulfillment for the desire to see heaven among those who continue in covenant with GOD along with the expectations (we say, hope) and possibilities of GOD for created beings and living creatures all may be described as (a) certain, (b) conditional, (c) in an active and unfinished divine process, and (d) organic, for they are established through life and eternal divine utterance (such as commandment, proclamation, promise, and prophecy).

(2.)  All who journeyed from Egypt displayed some desire and determination to reach the Promised Land.  However, only two from the armies of Israel (that numbered more than ½ million) actually did possess their allotted portion (Caleb and Joshua).  Even Moses was excluded to demonstrate certain features and principles of a continuous covenant relationship.  Foremost among them, believers must operate directed by the spirit matter deposited within them from divinity, rather than rely upon their inborn human nature.  Included are such inseparable aspects from the makeup of GOD as faith, forbearance, humility, longsuffering, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  To be “chosen” is to serve as an instrument in a divine priesthood that makes visible various sacred processes.  So to speak, the chosen must demonstrate and display deliverance, forgiveness, repentance, salvation, and triumph over sin as well as captivity, condemnation, defiance, and disfavor—we say, the “good, the bad, and the ugly.”  Thus, entirely upon the basis of what they understand as having come forth from GOD, Jews and those serving through the ministry of Jesus Christ welcome an inheritance that includes the experience of “going to heaven” by living upon the earth in agreement with eternal purposes such as atonement, creation, death, rebirth, revelation, judgment, and sanctification.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. (Jeremiah 17:  7-8, KJV)

(03/21/2014) Beyond Punishment

Divine punishment, justice, betrayal and retribution are in view, today.  Also, there is more on Christianity as a culture of judgment.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Andrew”  (Level 1 with 12 points, a member since January 26, 2014) posted the following:

Does God punish people?

Let's say a man makes fun of a blind man. Would God make the man who made fun of him blind as a punishment.

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Culture of Judgment? (03/20/2014)—Christianity may be spoken of as a culture of judgment, yet, it is not a culture of condemnation.  For Christian believers, peace is to be an inner condition of ones being wherein all the changes and interactions of their divine substance are in agreement, in balance, are complete, and occur smoothly.  Believers are “recruited” (we say, called) to serve as “priests and kings.”  It is the peculiar duty of a king to serve as one of the highest authorities in judgment; just as it is a peculiar duty of a priest to make offerings that secure atonement, propitiation for sin, and divine favor.  Created beings and living creatures endure by divine prerogative (we say, grace), and none may justify themselves on the basis of their deeds, their intentions, or their service.  It is their salvation that they may willingly submit to the Son of the Highest, who is justified by participation in GODhead.  Applying their own measures of faith and divine spirit, believers are established as justified in judgment by the Savior’s faithfulness, gratitude, humility, love, obedience, righteousness, and unselfish sacrifice—not their own.  There are now those in existence (we say, sinners, unbelievers) who oppose divine law, judgment, and the continuing sovereignty of GOD.  Where these can not be altered and saved, demands for universal peace and divine perfection require they absolutely must be destroyed.  See Genesis 6:  3, Isaiah 30:  8-15, Jeremiah 29:  19, Galatians 5:  15-26 and Romans 14:  16-18, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:  Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?  For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord.  And again, The Lord shall judge his people.  (Hebrews 10:  28-30, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  GOD Enjoys Judgment? (12/19/2013); Miracles are Sacred Events (12/20/2013); Of War and Judgment (10/08/2013); Heart, Brain or Spirit? (10/09/2013); A GOD of Love? (05/07/2013); Commanding the Storm? (05/08/2013); Why So Much Murder? (01/12/2013); Confusion 2013 (01/13/2013); Justice Comes by Love? (10/01/2012); A Daily Revelation? (10/02/2012)

“Andrew”, the best answers for speaking about how GOD operates among mankind all go beyond the simple idea of punishment and reward.  Many times we mislabel what we see from GOD.  Consider the following:

(1.)  Vengeance (we say, justice) is only one goal of divine judgment.  Other objectives include balance, permanent change (we say, correction), perfection, purity, revelation (making the righteousness of GOD known), salvation, and sanctification (cleansing, healing, and setting one apart for divine service).

(2.)  The Bible does report instances where GOD removed affliction from one person, and leveled that same hardship upon another.  When Naaman, a Syrian general, was cured of leprosy, the disease was laid upon Gehazi and all his descendants.  Not only did the much trusted servant of Elisha covet the Syrian’s goods, Gehazi demanded payment for healing and rebirth from GOD, hid the merchandise he had been given, and then lied to the prophet about where he had been, and what he had done (see 2nd Kings 5:  1-27, KJV).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Divine order for the earth is not separated from divine order for heaven.  Therefore, unopposed, the violations of divine law committed among created beings and living creatures have power at a cosmic level to damage unseen features of the universe.  The operations of GOD are not to express human anger, emotion, and indignation so much as to affirm divinity that is made of spirit substance.  Included are such eternal, inseparable, and unchanging aspects of GOD as faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?  And he answered, Fear not:  for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.  And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw:  and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.  (2nd Kings 6:  15-17, KJV)

(03/20/2014) A Culture of Judgment?

Culture, judgment, peace, and war are topics, today, along with more on whether those serving in certain roles should also use firearms.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Cody” (Level 4 with 2,786 points, a member since July 18, 2010) posted the following:

Christianity: Peaceful religion or culture of war?

A lot of people will misunderstand what I'm trying to say because of mistranslation, their own biases, and because of their perception overall. christianity Isn't the religion of peace that people make it out to be. And Jesus wasn't an entirely divine and passive, caring person. He was actually a lot like the Israelis and Egyptians and reflected their culture.

And [Jesus] made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables

"I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence."

"I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division"

Update 1: @Simple Jack:

The 1st one still doesn't make Jesus any less violent. He whipped them and when psycho.

The 2nd one is not part of the parable. He said that after having finished the parable.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Needing Guns To Serve? (03/19/2014)—4.  Justification.  All believers accept that they must appear before Christ  in judgment, and that no created beings and living creatures are justified before GOD on the basis of their deeds that proceed from their animal nature, intellect, material conditions (we say, circumstances) or physical characteristics.  By acknowledgement of their own divine content from GOD, believers are accounted as justified through the ministry of Jesus Christ.  Saying this another way, atonement (the application of holy blood that carries life essence) has been made for their errors and sins through the life and death of Jesus.  Believers are justified only as we acknowledge, further, and repeat the deeds of Jesus.  5.  Sanctification.  To be cleansed and set apart for divine service is called sanctification.  Certainly, believers are set apart by their spirit content, and the sacred knowledge that should fill their awareness.  However, a believer is also distinguished by their attitudes, behavior, conduct, expectations (we say, hope), and life choices while still upon the earth, and pursuing the various aspects of human experience.  6.  Weapons.  Guns are tools that sometimes must be used like pliers, screwdrivers, and wrenches.  Ones setting, and the tasks they must perform can dictate the tools that must be brought to work, and are necessary to accomplish ones purpose, so to speak.  Courage and defense against brutality, cruelty, ignorance, and physical aggression may appear to be called for at the same time as compassion, forgiveness, and medical assistance.  To avoid inaction, hesitation, and paralysis through conflict, as much as possible, such decisions ought to be made beforehand.  7.  Martyrdom.  Christian believers are not asked to die for Jesus, or for Almighty GOD.  Rather, it is the duty of believers to continue in the earth as living sacrifices to GOD.  When persecuted (i.e., systematically attacked and suppressed through the combined action of government and religious organizations) the believer need make no violent defense of life and property.  As joint heirs with Christ, believers surrender their lives to GOD, not to any created being or living creature who threatens as an enemy.  8.  Intercession not Intervention.  Given their fresh endowment of divine spirit, all believers are equipped to perform intercession, where they may not be prepared, or supplied to intervene.  Interventions may require authority, money, and a network of supporters that does not exist for the believer.  Thus, believers could “beat up” those committing abuse of their spouse, however, violence begets only more violence.  The need is for changes of spirit, awareness, and self-will that may be provided only by GOD.  9.  Two Masters.  Believers must make their choices and decisions in such as way as to minimize conflict and confusion for themselves as well as for others.  Commitment to the military must be a total acceptance of duty, policy, procedures, and standards based upon trust (i.e., emotional, intellectual, and psychological understandings).  Once submitted to military authority—like it, don’t like—one is obligated to conform, cooperate, and obey.  Similarly, believers must accept baptism (death of ones inborn nature, and rebirth having the divine nature) that is followed by continuous growth, obedience of divine law, and constant sacred practice.  Those making such choice should know the various “limitations” they are taking upon themselves before their contract and covenant is sealed.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.  And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,  Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.  And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.  And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O LORD, let my LORD, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.  And he said, Behold, I make a covenant:  before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation:  and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD:  for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.  Observe thou that which I command thee this day:  behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.  Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:  But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:  For thou shalt worship no other god:  for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:  (Exodus 34:  5-14, KJV)

“Cody”, yours is a big question that takes a big answer.  What you have written is clear enough, however, it misses the mark for productive spiritual faith, and Christian belief.  Like divine love, the peace of GOD may not be understood using the terms of carnal experience.  Here are a few points to consider:

(1.)  The Kingdom of GOD is not a cultural, geopolitical, intellectual  or social sphere.  The kingdom is a pattern within the spirit matter of created beings and living creatures.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ as Risen Lord, believers receive a fresh endowment of the same Spirit that was imparted to Adam as the “breath of life.”  Believers receive inseparable aspects of divinity that include such sacred spirit substance as faith, holiness, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Christianity acknowledges a “god of judgment.”  Therefore, divine law, correction, mercy, punishment, and reward are recurring themes.  Focus for the judgment of GOD is not merely upon bad attitudes, naughty behavior, and unsavory conduct.  The living are examined for their expressions of the divine nature, and the possibility of their permanent and continuing value as “life companions” of Christ.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Death is GOD’s tool, however, life is GOD’s intent.  The divine use of death pertains to completion of mortality, purification, rebirth, and the renewal of spirit matter damaged through the operations of sin.  Sin is no material or physical thing a person can hold in their hand, nor is sin spirit matter put forth by GOD.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, Sacred Person, and all Creation.  Yet sin may dominate awareness and self-will in the living.  Death allows resurrection, that does not eliminate sin, yet, permits operations to establish immortality, incorruptibility, and all the other elements of eternal life.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.  And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.  (2nd Timothy 2:  3-5, KJV)
