(11/30/2014) The Death Penalty for Sins?

Divine law, judgment and the death penalty are topics, today.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no information available) posted the following:

Would Jesus uphold the death penalty? President Bush said," “I can’t justify the death penalty in terms of the New Testament...”?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?  Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?  Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?  (Romans 2:  21-23, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Death is a Divine Tool (09/15/2014); A Sleep and a Second Death (09/16/2014); No Mystery in Lawful Judgment (07/28/2014); Divine Law for Mankind? (07/29/2014); Beyond Punishment (03/21/2014); A Guarantee of Heaven? (03/22/2014); Sin Causes Death? (02/04/2014); Succession (02/05/2014); Death Has Been Transformed (05/09/2013); Loving the Enemy? (05/10/2013)

“Anonymous”, here are a few points on divine law and judgment as understood among mature Christian believers:

(1.)  The Soul That Sinneth Must Die.  The operations of sin oppose the continued existence of divine law, of the Divine Law Giver, and of the Creation that relies upon divine order generated through sacred law.  The operations of GOD through the sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross have not eliminated sin and wickedness.  However, a way is made for those who seek change.  Only death or rebirth will completely stop a sinner from committing offenses and transgressions.  While death stops a sinner, the consequences of their deeds may continue indefinitely upon the earth.

(2.)  Sin is No Living Thing.  Sin is not a being who possesses superior knowledge and intelligence, yet, sin may dominate awareness and self-will in all created beings and living creatures.  For that reason, college graduates, intellectuals, logicians, mathematicians, philosophers and scientist are as subject and vulnerable to sin as any idiot or moron.  Sin is no living thing; and is no material or physical item a person may hold in their hand or put in their pocket.  Yet, sin has direction, effect, and presence.  Because, sin is not a thing made up of spirit matter, GOD has appeared in human flesh (we say, Incarnation) to become an embodiment of all sin whose destruction could be depicted upon the cross.

(3.)  GOD Justifies Divine Law.  Where men are in correct relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ, they do not attempt to condemn sacred law, they do not attempt to justify and promote themselves, and they understand it is foolishness to attempt to justify divinity.  There are inarguable, non-negotiable conditions that should only be met with acceptance.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Let He Who Is Without Sin.  When challenged to state his opinion of a law that condemned a woman caught in the act of adultery, the leaders and Pharisees of the Temple expected Jesus to condemn the law (and GOD, the Law Giver).  Instead, Jesus revealed the further demand of the law, that only those who are righteous may carry out, execute, and perform its penalties.  They all concluded, none was present who could legitimately fulfill the intent of the law.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(11/28/2014) Eternal Life By Means of Carnal Death?

Today, more is shared on why Christ died as a sacrifice to accomplish salvation, rather than by continuing to live a perfect human life.  Both life and death must be seen and understood using ideas in agreement with the revealed truth from GOD.  Death is more than merely a mechanical process where the body functions as a machine that may be shut off, and powered down.  Also, death is more than punishment for wrong doing, and an expression of divine wrath against sin.  More correctly understood, death is a divine process that allows permanent change and transformation of the spirit matter from the makeup of GOD that must reside within created beings and living creatures.  Given the peculiar makeup of mankind as flesh and spirit, the only atonement that may be administered for sins requires blood that carries spiritual innocence; and is a fixed, non-negotiable process in accordance with grace from GOD.  Similarly resurrection from death responds to the human condition as mortal and temporal.  By means of death GOD is further revealed as blameless, independent, righteous, self-governing, and wise.  The death of Jesus was not merely physical and symbolic.  Jesus was made an embodiment of all sin, condemned, separated from divinity, spiritually destroyed, and restored by Infinite Glory.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Living not Dying for Our Sins? (11/27/2014)

Luke 24:  13-27, KJV—And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.  14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.  15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.  16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.  17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?  18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?  19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:  20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.  21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel:  and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.  22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;  23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.  24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said:  but him they saw not.  25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:  26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?  27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

1st Chronicles 16:  8, KJV—Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

1st Corinthians 15:  21-26, KJV—For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.  24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.  26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Hebrews 9:  24-28, KJV—For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:  25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;  26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:  but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.  27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Hebrews 9:  11-18, KJV—But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;  12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.  13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:  14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.  16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.  17 For a testament is of force after men are dead:  otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.  18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

Hebrews 10:  12-22, KJV—But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;  13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.  14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.  15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us:  for after that he had said before,  16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;  17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.  18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.  19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,  20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;  21 And having an high priest over the house of God;  22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Matthew 26:  26-28, KJV—And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.  27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;  28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Acts 2:  29-39, KJV—Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.  30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;  31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.  32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.  33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.  34 For David is not ascended into the heavens:  but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,  35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.  36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.  37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?  38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Romans 6:  23, KJV—For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1st Corinthians 15:  35-45, KJV—But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?  36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:  37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:  38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.  39 All flesh is not the same flesh:  but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.  40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial:  but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.  41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars:  for one star differeth from another star in glory.  42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:  43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory:  it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:  44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.  45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

1st Corinthians 11:  23-29, KJV—For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:  24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat:  this is my body, which is broken for you:  this do in remembrance of me.  25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood:  this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.  26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.  27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.  29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

Romans 3:  23-26, KJV—For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness:  that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Romans 6:  4, KJV—Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:  that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life

2nd Corinthians 5:  20-21, KJV—Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Acts 10:  42-44, KJV—And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.  43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.  44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

1st Corinthians 15:  12-20, KJV—Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?  13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:  14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.  16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:  17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.  18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.  19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.  20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

1st John 2:  24-25, KJV—Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.  25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

Titus 3:  3-11, KJV—For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.  4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,  5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;  7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.  9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.  10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;  11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

1st John 5:  5-13, KJV—Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.  7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:  and these three are one.  8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood:  and these three agree in one.  9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.  10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:  he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.  11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1st Peter 1:  13-21, KJV—Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;  14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:  15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;  16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.  17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:  18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:  20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,  21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

(11/27/2014) Living not Dying for Our Sins?

Atonement, sacrifice, and sin are topics, today.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “2.71828182845904523” (Level 7 with 111,516 points, a member since February 26, 2006) posted the following:

Couldn't Jesus have lived for their sins, rather than die for them? How is dying for their sins any better than living for them?

Jesus was perhaps in his thirties, he had his whole life ahead of him; but instead of living for their sins he decided to die for them.

Replies from religion scholars and others appreciated.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:  (For until the law sin was in the world:  but sin is not imputed when there is no law.  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift:  for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.  Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:  That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.  (Romans 5:  12-21, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  His Resurrection Still Relevant? (10/05/2014); The Testing of Job? (10/06/2014); Forgiveness Through GOD? (02/02/2014); Obliged to Disregard? (02/03/2014); Why Was A Son Sent? (11/10/2013); Promise of A Spirit? (11/11/2013)

“2.71828182845904523”, only a few points may be shared with you here that pertain to the simple, yet, profound (i.e., far reaching; having multiple applications) truth from the system of sacred knowledge held among mature Christians:

(1.)  The death of Jesus upon the cross for atonement of sin, and the transformation of all existence may only be understood through operations of spirit matter that is imparted from the full makeup of divinity.  Inseparable (where one appears, all are present) aspects of GOD must be in place such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, truthfulness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Sin may dominate the living through their awareness and self-will.  Sin is no thing created by GOD; is not living material or spirit substance; lacks dimension and measurable form, yet, has direction, effect, and presence.  Sin opposes the continued existence of sacred law, the Law Giver, and any universe that would depend upon divine order for its existence.  Neither finite angelic nor human emotions, intellect, logic, mathematics, philosophy, or science permit the complete and correct definition, or understanding of sin. More than this, singly or together, they can not eliminate sin.

(3.)  Atonement is a divine operation whereby spirit matter (we say, the spark of life, the breath of life, word) ordinarily contained and conveyed within the living by blood as a transporter, must be applied to establish a new condition and status before Deity as “having no sin” (we say, rebirth, redemption, salvation).  Immortality and incorruption for mankind is GOD’s intent, however, for this to be accomplished without widespread destruction of the universe, birth, life, death, resurrection, and judgment must be GOD’s tools.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Because GOD is a spirit who has put forth all that exists using specific devices and means that are not possessed by any other being, and GOD intends that all living acknowledge the active presence of divinity, GOD has appeared in flesh among mankind (we say, Incarnation).  GOD has lived among us as an independent and separate person; and GOD continues to live among us as an indwelling Spirit within believers.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(11/26/2014) Concerning Meekness

Focus upon meekness as a spiritual gift through the Holy Spirit is continued, today.  Meekness is to characterize and be visible in both the believer’s approach to learning from GOD as well as their approach to sharing and teaching the things of GOD to others.  Meekness is an appetite for spiritual nourishment, and appears as readiness to learn, receptiveness, and willingness to respond to divine instruction with enthusiasm, humility and zeal.  In the same way a small child may repeatedly express a desire to contribute to adult work, and to help their parents when they see them doing chores and tasks about their own home, mature believers will express a desire to cooperate in the spiritual work of those sent (i.e., the bishops, deacons, evangelists, pastors, praise and prayer leaders, and other servants of GOD).  While the gifts of prophecy and speaking in tongues are welcome within the church as supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit, meekness with willingness to learn and study should be understood as primary for the process of acquiring sacred knowledge on a day to day basis.  Because they have not “done their homework” and they lack correct spiritual knowledge, young people often are frustrated, and feel their prayers go unanswered.  Many developing believers mistakenly insist that they need not listen to preaching, or read such holy writings as the Bible, commentaries by anointed teachers, and devotional materials.  For them, GOD is to be experienced through episodes and one-time, rare events.  In their understanding, faith, feelings, intuition and miracles are to direct a believer.  More correctly, mature believers choosing to build up and edify the community of faith also will display lesser known spiritual gifts such as discernment, discipline, gratitude, hospitality, meekness, perseverance, restraint, and vigilance.

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Gift of Meekness (11/25/2014)

Isaiah 1:  16-18, KJV—Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;  17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.  18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:   though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 26:  8-10, KJV—Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.  9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:  for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.  10 Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness:  in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

Isaiah 29:  17-24, KJVIs it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?  18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.  19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.  20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:  21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.  22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.  23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.  24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

Matthew 11:  28-30, KJV—Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:  and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 7:  16-18, KJV—Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.  17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.  18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:  but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

Psalms 119:  40-45, KJV—Behold, I have longed after thy precepts:  quicken me in thy righteousness.  41 Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word.  42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me:  for I trust in thy word.  43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.  44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.  45 And I will walk at liberty:  for I seek thy precepts.

Psalms 119:  57-63, KJVThou art my portion, O LORD:  I have said that I would keep thy words.  58 I intreated thy favour with my whole heart:  be merciful unto me according to thy word.  59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.  60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.  61 The bands of the wicked have robbed me:  but I have not forgotten thy law.  62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.  63 I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.

Psalms 119:  98-105, KJV—Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies:  for they are ever with me.  99 I have more understanding than all my teachers:  for thy testimonies are my meditation.  100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.  101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.  102 I have not departed from thy judgments:  for thou hast taught me.  103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!  104 Through thy precepts I get understanding:  therefore I hate every false way.  105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

1st Corinthians 12:  1-11, KJV—Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.  2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.   3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed:  and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.  4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.  6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.  8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;  9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;  10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:  11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Isaiah 50:  4-10, KJV—The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary:  he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.  5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.  6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair:  I hid not my face from shame and spitting.  7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded:  therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.  8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.  9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.  10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

Proverbs 15:  33, KJV—The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

James 1:  5-8, KJV—If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.  8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

James 3:  12-14, KJV—Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.  13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.  14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

James 1:  16-22, KJV—Do not err, my beloved brethren.  17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.  19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:  20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.  21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Matthew 7:  7-8, KJV—Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Galatians 5:  13-23, KJV—For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.  14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.  16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:  and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.  19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:  of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23 Meekness, temperance:  against such there is no law.

1st Corinthians 14:  1-5, KJV—Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.  2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:  for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.  3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.  4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.  5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied:  for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

1st Corinthians 14:  27-33, KJV—If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.  29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.  31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.  33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Colossians 3:  1-10, KJV—If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.  5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:  7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.  8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.  9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;  10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Colossians 3:  12-17, KJV—Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any:  even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.  16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Exodus 4:  10-12, KJV—And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant:  but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.  11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?  12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

1st John 2:  26-28, KJV—These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.  27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:  but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.  28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

2nd Timothy 2:  15-16, KJV—Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  16 But shun profane and vain babblings:  for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

2nd Timothy 2:  22-26, KJV—Flee also youthful lusts:  but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.  24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,  25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Galatians 6:  1-10, KJV—Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.  2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.  3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.  4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.  5 For every man shall bear his own burden.  6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.  7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked:  for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  9 And let us not be weary in well doing:  for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

1st Peter 4:  9-11, KJV—Use hospitality one to another without grudging.  10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth:  that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

(11/25/2014) The Gift of Meekness

Divine gifts for a mature human understanding of divinity are the topic, today, specifically meekness.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Halbhh” (Level 4 with 4,706 points, a member since January 24, 2012) posted the following:

Help I don't understand metaphors or allegories at all, and I have a big urge to satire Bible stories?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’s anger come upon you.  Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness:  it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.  For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation:  they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.  (Zephaniah 2:  2-4, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Life Given By Knowledge? (04/03/2013); A Spirit Church? (04/04/2013); How To Love GOD? (03/24/2013); A Second Adam? (03/25/2013); The Place for Eternal Life? (01/06/2013); Therefore There Was Trust (01/07/2013); The Meek Will Inherit (10/16/2012)

“Halbhh”, it does require that you have maturity and self-mastery, because the first commitment you must make is that of agreeing to learn.  Here are a few points to consider that have been helpful to many Christian believers:

(1.)  In baptism (death of ones inborn spirit along with spirit rebirth from substance imparted by GOD), believers are “born again,” and must “grow up” again, encountering growing pains and the same life challenges as all others upon the earth.  In the same way you probably began speaking to your parents without knowing “mama” or “dada”, and had to develop understanding over time, believers all must begin to apprehend the things from GOD little by little.

(2.)  Sacred knowledge from the holy writings are only one source for being built up and increased by divinity.  There also should be fellowship with committed and experienced  believers, and ongoing sacred practice (i.e., observing peculiar disciplines such as confession, giving, prayer) and unselfish service.

(3.)  Where mockers and scoffers operate in ignorance (a condition of finite intelligence, or the lack of right knowledge and information), they are to be pitied, encouraged and ministered to, for such persons are yet teachable.  However, where bitterness and a spirit of antichrist prevail, direct operations of the Holy Spirit must occur, for the unbeliever may already be fixed and sealed in divine condemnation.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Many believers are excited about receiving divine gifts such as healing, or speaking in tongues, and may overlook specifically petitioning and praying for meekness.  Meekness is the ability to learn from and respond to operations and promptings by the indwelling spirit from GOD.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(11/24/2014) The Need for Prophecy Then and Now

More is shared today on the need of mankind for covenants, dispensations, exemptions, prophets, sacred operations, and special mechanisms of support from GOD that establish and maintain correct relationship with divinity.  The entire range of sacred operations in place to benefit mankind includes atonement, baptism (death of ones inborn spirit, rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak), confession, divine law, the holy writings, redemption, repentance, and resurrection.  Prophets were sent as spokespersons both to proclaim the word from GOD, and to address the Most High as a clear and unified voice from the people.  While being in the world, the prophet approaches divinity as a response from divine Creation, the world, and the universe of GOD, that has put away covetousness, pride and self-promotion to acknowledge that divinity continues as exalted above all that exists.  In word and deed, the prophet declares the name (i.e., word and deed) of GOD.  The direct and simple relationship initially in place for mankind became altered through Adam and Eve by the operations of sin, however, not as defiance, malice, rebellion or violence.  Sin operated appearing to be innocence (and therefore unseen) through attitudes and behavior expressing disobedience, disrespect, a lapse in awareness, and independent self-will opposing the sovereign will of GOD.  The work of a prophet is not the prediction of human events (we say, telling the future), the continual proclamation of condemnation and doom, or the exercise of authority to coerce, intimidate, and punish.  Rather, a prophet is to further make visible the active presence of divinity that is also expressed as dutifulness, expectation (we say, hope), faithfulness, holy boldness, law, longsuffering, love, precepts, principles, promises, and sacred truth.  Divine intent and eternal purpose for mankind have been revealed as salvation, sanctification, and life.  Thus, prophets also are an embodiment of a nation or people, who endure through communion with divinity, serve as a carnal and material evidence of continuing relationship with the Holy, and are witnesses to the integrity and righteousness of GOD.  In the same way, an eternal covenant has been established for the Jews with Moses as their prophet, the eternal covenant of Jesus Christ has been established for men from every nation with the Holy Spirit as the One sent.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Why Prophets Were Sent to Israel (11/23/2014)

1st Corinthians 14:  36-38, KJV—What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?  37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.  38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

1st Corinthians 11:  3-5, KJV —But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.  4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.  5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head:  for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

Amos 3:  7-8, KJV—Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.  8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

1st Samuel 3:  1-10, KJV—And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.  2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;  3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;  4 That the LORD called Samuel:  and he answered, Here am I.  5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.  6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.  7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.  8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.  9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down:  and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.  10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

1st Samuel 3:  19-21, KJV—And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.  20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.  21 And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh:  for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

Numbers 11:  16-17, KJV—And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.  17 And I will come down and talk with thee there:  and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

Numbers 11:  24-29, KJV—And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.  25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders:  and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.  26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad:  and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle:  and they prophesied in the camp.  27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.  28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.  29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’s people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

Numbers 12:  1-8, KJV—And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married:  for he had married an Ethiopian woman.  2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.  3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)  4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.  5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam:  and they both came forth.  6 And he said, Hear now my words:  If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.  7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.  8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold:  wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Deuteronomy 13:  1-5, KJV—If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,  2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;  3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.  4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.  5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

1st Samuel 28:  5-7, KJV—And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.  6 And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.  7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

Jeremiah 1:  1-10, KJV—The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:  2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.  3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.  4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,  5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak:  for I am a child.  7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child:  for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.  8 Be not afraid of their faces:  for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.  9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.  10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Jeremiah 23:  31-33, KJV—Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.  32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them:  therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.  33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 26:  8-9, KJV—Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.  9 Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

Isaiah 54:  17, KJV—No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Matthew 1:  18-25, KJV—Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:  When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.  19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.  20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:  for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:  for he shall save his people from their sins.  22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,  23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.  24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:  25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son:  and he called his name JESUS.

Acts 2:  16-18, KJV—But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;  17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:  and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:  18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Romans 12:  1-9, KJV—I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.  4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:  5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.  6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;  7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering:  or he that teacheth, on teaching;  8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation:  he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.  9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Romans 11:  2-7, KJV—God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,   3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.  4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.  5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.  6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works:  otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.  7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

Acts 3:  18-26, KJV—But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.  19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.  20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:  21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.  22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.  23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.  24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.  25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.  26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

James 5:  9-11, KJV—Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned:  behold, the judge standeth before the door.  10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.  11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Revelation 22:  16-21, KJV—I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.  21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

(11/23/2014) Why Prophets Were Sent to Israel

Covenant, prophecy, and the permanent place of Israel in the workings of GOD for mankind are topics, today.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Suleman Gill” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since November 23, 2014) posted the following:

Why god send his prophet in israel?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;  And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:  Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.  For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods:  so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.  But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God:  the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.  The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:  But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.  Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;  And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them:  he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.  (Deuteronomy 7:  1-10, KJV)

“Suleman Gill”, here are a few points of sacred knowledge shared among Christian believers that clarify the place of Israel in the workings of GOD for all mankind:

(1.)  The revelation of divinity to mankind has required the device of incarnation (appearing in flesh) and the operation of GOD through forms knowable by finite human beings whose awareness can be dominated by appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual cravings), sense (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), emotional/mental functions (e.g., anger, fear, fantasy, imagination, recall), and sin (a non-material, non-spirit influence that opposes the continued existence of divinity).

(2.)  The relationship with divinity begun with Adam and Eve was defiled and profaned, however, not completely destroyed or terminated.  Through such devices as family, inheritance, and priesthood, the divine intent and sacred purposes of GOD for the creation of the pair would be continued and fulfilled within the lives of their offspring.

(3.)  Abraham was called the Friend of God, having operated in a personal relationship with divinity that framed sacred law in the terms of covenant, promise, and prophecy (i.e., comfort, edification, exhortation).  Only selected men upon the earth received sacred knowledge, and were instructed in the things of GOD serving as heads of families (we say, patriarchs) and priests to their households that sometimes numbered thousands (their own spouse and children, the workers, their families).  The institution of covenant relationship embracing nations upon the earth was instituted first through Noah, then, following Babel.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The Hebrews and mixed-multitude (we say, Gentiles) who left Egypt together with Moses were chosen by GOD to remove and replace the seven nations that occupied the land that was promised by GOD.  Moses was not the first prophet (we say, spokesperson) sent from GOD; and Israel was not the first covenant nation.  However, GOD proclaimed the covenant with Israel would be eternal.  After their terrifying experience of hearing GOD speak to declare divine law, Israel requested that GOD only use human prophets to communicate his will.  Therefore, since that time many prophets were sent, including the Son of the Highest.  As surely as only GOD can establish divinity in eternal covenant, only GOD may break it off or terminate it.   While the Jews can violate covenant, they may not dissolve covenant.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(11/21/2014) The Beginning of Wisdom?

Today, more is shared on the Book of Genesis, sacred knowledge, and divine revelation.  Throughout the Bible, the name of GOD, and how divinity is to be known, are proclaimed as a record of sacred deeds.  The holy writings have been given to mankind as tools for spiritual admonition, correction, guidance, and divine judgment.  The Scriptures make visible and reveal salvation, and are not intended for those who want to meddle in or manipulate the things of GOD.  For thousands of years, the word of GOD was shared as history and personal testimony spoken by living witnesses.  In the same way divine law (sometimes called, the covenant) was first provided to mankind in written form through the service of Moses as prophet and seer (the Ten Commandments, the Decalogue), the five books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, also sometimes called, the law) were all produced through operations of the Holy Spirit (we say, inspiration) to evidence and preserve sacred knowledge for the elders, priests and spokespersons who would serve the covenant people.  All earlier divine covenants had been established with Patriarchs (i.e., heads of families; selected individuals such as Adam, Abel, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) who themselves experienced personal interactions with divinity.  Their households and offspring were to continue specific observances and practices as their duty and inheritance from GOD.  While priesthood and prophecy would continue to be transmitted through the mechanisms of family and inheritance, using Moses, GOD would create a sacred nation made up from the tribes of Jacob and the mixed multitude of non-Hebrew peoples (we say, Gentiles) that accompanied them out of Egypt.  The things found in Genesis will always be necessary for full understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for the context (we say, background and setting) of the things pertaining to judgment, rebirth, sanctification, and salvation from GOD also must come forth in accordance with divine order.  The sin of Adam and Eve (betrayal; disobedience of the law; discounting and ignoring the word spoken from GOD) permanently altered many aspects of human development, and the ongoing process whereby mankind may continue in right relationship with divinity.  The fellowship that was to be maintained through intimate contact, love, respect and trust, became subject to law and ordinances.  Thus, many occurrences that were the first of their kind are recorded in Genesis:  the establishment of sacred institutions to be maintained among mankind (e.g., fellowship with divinity through faith, intercessory prayer, marriage, Sabbath, sacrificial worship); the first physical conflict arising from the different spirit of worship that existed within two brothers, and resulted in death through violence; the first divine act to cleanse the entire earth from sin using the waters containing and surrounding the earth as a flood.  In Genesis the Spirit of God (also called the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth) is introduced as that aspect of the full divine person that performs and completes such sacred operations as the formation of heaven and earth to serve as spheres for life.  The use of carnal beings having awareness and self-will as instruments and repositories of sacred law and purpose are also generated and carried out in mankind today through the same divine essence (we say, breath of life, holy spirit, word) originally imparted to Adam.

THE BATTLE AXE:  The First Book of the Bible? (11/20/2014)

Genesis 5:  1-8, KJV—This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;  2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.  3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:  4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years:  and he begat sons and daughters:  5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years:  and he died.  6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:  7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:  8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years:  and he died.

Deuteronomy 29:  29, KJV—The secret things belong unto the LORD our God:  but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Proverbs 9:  9-10, KJV—Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser:  teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.  10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:  and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Psalms 111:  2-10, KJV—The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.  3 His work is honourable and glorious:  and his righteousness endureth for ever.  4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered:  the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.  5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him:  he will ever be mindful of his covenant.  6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.  7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.  8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.  9 He sent redemption unto his people:  he hath commanded his covenant for ever:  holy and reverend is his name.  10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:  a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:  his praise endureth for ever.

Deuteronomy 17:  8-13, KJV—If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates:  then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;  9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:  10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:  11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do:  thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.  12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die:  and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.  13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

Judges 17: 6, KJV—In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Deuteronomy 17:  14-20, KJV—When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;  15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose:  one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee:  thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.  16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses:  forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.  17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away:  neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.  18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:  19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life:  that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:  20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left:  to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

2nd Peter 1:  16-21, KJV—For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.  19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:  but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Exodus 31:  18, KJV—And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Exodus 32:  19, KJV—And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

Exodus 34:  4-8, KJV—And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.  5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.  6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,  7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.  8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.

Exodus 34:  27-28, KJV—And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words:  for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.  28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Deuteronomy 6:  4-9, KJV—Hear, O Israel:  The LORD our God is one LORD:  5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:  7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Deuteronomy 4:  31-40, KJV—(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.  32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?  33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?  34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?  35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.  36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee:  and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.  37 And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;  38 To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 10:  1-5, KJV—At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.  And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.  3 And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.  4 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly:  and the LORD gave them unto me.  5 And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

Deuteronomy 31:  7-13, KJV—And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage:  for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.  8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee:  fear not, neither be dismayed.  9 And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.  10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,  11 When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.  12 Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:  13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

Deuteronomy 31:  16-22, KJV—And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.  17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?  18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.  19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel:  put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.  20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.  21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed:  for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.  22 Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

Deuteronomy 31:  24-30, KJV—And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,  25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,  26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.  27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck:  behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?  28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.  29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.  30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.

Isaiah 46:  9-10, KJV—Remember the former things of old:  for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,  10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Deuteronomy 30:  6, KJV—And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Jeremiah 4:  4, KJV—Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem:   lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

John 5:  39-47, KJV—Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:  and they are they which testify of me.  40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.  41 I receive not honour from men.  42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.  43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not:  if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.  44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?  45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father:  there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.  46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.  47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Luke 24:  26-27, KJV—Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?  27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

2nd Timothy 3:  14-17, KJV—But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;  15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Romans 2:  12-16, KJV—For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law:  and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;  13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.  14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:  15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)  16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Ezekiel 36:  17-27, KJV—Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings:  their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.  18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:  19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries:  according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.  20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.  21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.  22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.  23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.  24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.  25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean:  from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.  26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:  and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Hebrews 1:  1-4, KJV—God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:  4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Joshua 1:  7-9, KJV—Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee:  turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.  8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:  for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.  9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

2nd Corinthians 3:  1-9, KJV—Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?  2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:  3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.  4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:  5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;  6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit:  for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.  7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:  8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?  9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

Hebrews 2:  1-10, KJV—Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;  3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;  4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?  5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.  6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?  7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:  8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.  9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.  10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
