(06/30/2013) Freewill is Finite

Doctrine, freewill and the “divine plan” are topics, today.  Also, there is more on what it means to “come as you are.”  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Wisdom itself.” (Level 4 with 4,192 points, a member since August 26, 2011) posted the following:

If God gave man freewill, how is every-thing a part of His plan?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Come As You Are? (06/29/2013)—Because GOD is a spirit who must be worshiped in spirit and in truth (John 4:  24 and Philippians 3:  2-3, KJV), mankind must be totally transformed to escape the limitations of flesh and mind.  Coming to Christ we begin a journey to become completely immortal and incorruptible.  Holy angels dwelling in the celestial presence (we say, heaven), were first to come under the influence of sin despite that they are spirit beings (not mortals, yet not immortal) who contain only sacred knowledge, and continue their existence through experiences of divine service.  It is a consequence of sin that all upon the earth who seek open and permanent access to GOD must do so through repentance.  In addition to remorse or sorrow for sin, repentance expresses growth, love, maturity, obedience, and awareness of sovereign presence.  “Come as you are” is suitable only as a beginning for ones new awareness and spiritual change.  The believer is also to embrace, “no turning back,” “crucified with Christ,” and “dead to sin, alive to GOD.”  See Romans 6:  6 and 6:  11, Galatians 2:  20 and 5:  24, 1st Peter 2:  24 and Revelation 19:  9-11, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.  And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?  Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.  If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.  (John 7:  14-17, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Common Danger (01/02/2013); The Root of  Jesse (01/03/2013); See With New Eyes (11/06/2012); A Life Companion? (11/07/2012); Spirit Matter (10/21/2012); Caesarea Philippi (10/22/2012); Sin Without Wrongdoing? (08/28/2012); On Religious Items (08/29/2012); (10/12/2011) Binder 15:  Even From Everlasting; In The Rain? (03/07/2011)

“Wisdom itself.”, here are some thoughts GOD has provided to those living as believers in the kingdom of GOD through Jesus Christ:

(1)  “Freewill” (some say, self-will) in mankind is finite and limited.  Just as freewill does not stop the snow from falling on a cold winters day, or make it that rain is no longer wet, freewill cannot eliminate sin, overturn ignorance of GOD and divine purpose, or take the place of redemption and salvation through the shed blood of Jesus.

(2)  That GOD has a “plan for all things” is shared as a simple formula to supply a beginning grasp upon multiple profound truths that pertain to the universe, and the spheres of all existence.  Like children who master “mama”, “dada”, or recite the “ABC’s” (yet are still unable to read and write), to please GOD, created beings and living creatures must do more than merely exercise and master self-will.

(3)  Sin may corrupt and dominate self-will.  In mankind, the ability to detect and identify sin, and the strength to resist the influence of sin over will power are invisibly eroded and reduced over time through action and behavior.  Only by receiving a fresh infusion of divine spirit through Jesus Christ do men possess the necessary measure of divine will that permits fulfillment of divine purpose.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  Men become able to understand and cooperate with the divine plan only through such operations of GOD as baptism, redemption, repentance, salvation, and sanctification.  So to speak:  There must be the death of that original spirit one was born with; rebirth through an endowment by GOD of divine DNA; and growing up again while meeting the challenges and growing pains of life upon the earth.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/29/2013) Come As You Are?

Acceptance, change, and repentance are topics, today.  Also, there is more on the sacred mechanisms for comforting believers who are in mourning.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “nick” (Level 4 with 4,489 points, a member since December 26, 2008) posted the following:

After I come to Jesus though as I am, do I still have to repent?

Or should I repent first and then come? Or can I stay as I am after I come?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Our Present Comfort? (06/28/2013)—Just as believers repeatedly experience appetite such as hunger, thirst and cravings for sexual activity as human, natural and normal life process, believers will repeatedly experience feelings and thoughts about those in their lives who become deceased.  Included may be family, loved ones, or even strangers identified in an evening news broadcast.  The various operations of GOD to permanently suppress the power of death over human awareness center in the appearance of GOD in flesh as Jesus Christ (we say, incarnation); the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus from the dead; the ascension of Jesus into heaven; and the falling of the Holy Spirit upon prepared believers.   While death continues as a feature of finite being for all who are in flesh, through Christ mankind is now released from the widespread depression, fear, ignorance, and worship of death that formerly corrupted relationship with the Creator.  Such solutions for bereavement as hope, joy, law, love, promise, and sacred visions are supplied of GOD.  These convey life-energy, are forward-looking, and are rooted in practical truth.  They endow a mourner with an inheritance of continuing purpose and stability without the burdens of apathy, coldness, hardness of heart, indifference, morbidity, and lack of affect.  See Philippians 1:  21-30, 2nd Peter 1:  2-4 and 2nd Corinthians 5:  1-21, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?  Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.  I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright:  no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.  Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.  How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.  The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken:  lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?  (Jeremiah 8:  4-9, King James Version)

DOUBLE DAGGER:  How Do I Repent? (05/16/2013); The “Jesus Way”? (05/17/2013); Unless You Repent (03/05/2013); The Childhood of Jesus? (03/06/2013); Unexceptional Beginnings (11/22/2012); Believing Everything? (11/23/2012); Turn From Sin? (02/15/2011); About Promises (02/16/2011)

“nick”, here are some points Christian believers must be aware of that are important for avoiding spiritual confusion:

(1)  For many, “come as you are” means GOD extends unqualified acceptance and approval to all (they may even say, “unconditional love”).  More correctly, “come as you are” means a person’s errors, faults, limits and weaknesses that repeatedly frustrate and overwhelm family, friends and others are no obstacle to GOD.  “Come as you are” does not mean “stay as you are.”

(2)  Like forgiveness, repentance is not a “one-time” sacred event.  As operations carried out by eternal GOD, forgiveness and repentance are conditions for being and existence, and should be continuously present before GOD through imparted spirit matter such as faith, holiness, longsuffering, love, and wrath against sin.

(3)  In water (and spirit) baptism, a believer makes a public choice to internalize and submit to divine operations that will change their inner nature.  (We say a believer is “born again” from divine DNA.)  In addition to changes in attitude, behavior, conduct, desire, knowledge and life style GOD gradually establishes such permanent changes in the new believer as ability to discern and recognize the quality and value of spirits, correct consciousness of divine intent and eternal purpose as well as the believer’s self-awareness and authority through truth.

There is no simple explanation, or abbreviated way to clarify the many profound truths of being in a genuine relationship with GOD that goes beyond “me, myself and I” by focusing upon such high themes as judgment, prophecy, resurrection and sanctification.  There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  Repentance begins as a confession of need for the permanent change that only GOD may bring about.  Ones need is for more than different or new experiences that are carnal, material and social.  There must be an acknowledgment of divine power and sovereignty as the source for being and growth that we call “life” along with conviction of ones own absolute personal dependence upon GOD.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/28/2013) Our Present Comfort?

Bereavement, Jesus raising the dead, and Scripture readings for funerals are topics, today, along with more on judgment.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Donkey Girl” (Level 5 with 8,513 points, a member since October 28, 2010) posted the following:

Inappropriate reading at funeral?

I went to a funeral recently and the vicar quoted a passage from the Bible where Jesus sees a mother weeping over her son who has died. Jesus tells the boy to get up and his mother is very joyful as he’s returned to life. The vicar said that Jesus did this because the boy obviously meant a lot to his mother.

I think this is completely inappropriate at a funeral. So Jesus saw fit to resurrect this boy, but presumably doesn’t care enough about the guy whose funeral I was at nor the suffering of his wife weeping in the front pew to resurrect him.

None of the believers at the funeral seemed to think anything of it. Are Christians so blinded by their faith that they just listen to the words and don’t think about their meaning any more?

THE BATTLE AXE:  When Does Judgment Begin? (06/27/2013)—The current, ongoing judgment focuses upon believers, and therefore, employs criteria and standards that relate to identifying divine purpose, sacred operations, and eternal substance.  Included are admonition, chastisement, correction, council, instruction, punishment, rebuke, and warning (see Job 5:  17-19, Hebrews 12:  4-6 and Luke 12:  42-48, KJV).  At the Advent, or Second Coming of Jesus, there will be two classes of believers in existence that supply those who are lifted up to meet the Lord in the air:  (1) the quick (those still alive, who have not finished mortal life, and (2) the dead.  Both these classes of believer will have already satisfied the demands of judgment such that they are included in what is called “the harvest,” “the reaping,” and “the Rapture.”  Those taken up are not yet granted rest from all labors, for they must complete preparations for, serve in, and bear witness to the judgment of the wicked.  Also, there must be the assignment of duties and the distribution of homes within the New Jerusalem as well as upon the new earth that is to be overspread by immortal, incorruptible beings.  See Matthew 5:  20-29, 2nd Timothy 4:  1-5, 1st Thessalonians 4:  13-18 and Revelation 21:  1-8, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  If ye love me, keep my commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  I will not leave you comfortless:  I will come to you.  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me:  because I live, ye shall live also.  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:  and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings:  and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:  not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  (John 14:  15-26, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The End of Pain? (06/10/2013); Faith for Facing Tragedy? (06/04/2013); Scripture at Funerals (04/30/2013); Why Jesus Authored No Books (05/01/2013); Magical Resurrection? (03/20/2013); Eat His Body, Drink His Blood (03/21/2013); Holy Comfort? (11/26/2010); Statistics? (11/27/2010)

“Donkey Girl,” here are some important points shared among Christian believers that may further your spiritual insight:

(1)  Surrounded by two crowds at the entering of the city, Jesus publicly responded to the widow at Nain whose son was her sole source of income and emotional support.  The Savior was moved by compassion, empathy, and the recognition that his own mother would be bereaved and devastated, soon.  At the pleadings of a father and leader of the synagogue (Jairus), Jesus had restored a dead maiden; however, this had been done in private, before no more than six witnesses.  In both these instances, the dead were raised before burial; and so, on surface, they may appear less significant than the raising of Lazarus, who was in the tomb several days.

(2)  Jesus was not commanded by GOD to raise the widow’s son, at that time.  His doing so, therefore, was a prophetic demonstration (actions instead of words) to forewarn and prepare his disciples for a faith-staggering revelation of his divine authority, discretion, and sacred prerogative:  That Messiah would soon die upon the cross, and would reappear following his resurrection from death.

(3)  The sacred processes of GOD for mankind make use of such elements as birth, death, family, marriage, parenting and revival of the dead.  However, consciousness of GOD can be established only through the inseparable aspects of divine person.  GOD is a spirit, and may only be realized using imparted spirit matter that makes up divinity.  Included are faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is no simple explanation, or abbreviated way to clarify the many profound truths of judgment, prophecy, resurrection and sanctification.  There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  Presently, mature Christian believers are to answer death and bereavement through the promises of GOD, instead of through marvels, miracles, and raising the dead.  The comfort, edification and exhortation from GOD that are prophecy do not center upon the carnal, material and social events that routinely challenge believers.  Multiple ongoing sacred operations are in place transforming all Creation, and every aspect of existence.  Once the “second death” is completed, mortality will no longer exist; and mankind will be immortal and incorruptible.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/27/2013) When Does Judgment Begin?

Aspects of divine judgment are our topic, today, along with more on being lost without GOD.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “ubhannahh” (Level 1 with 1 point, a member since April 11, 2007) posted the following:

Does god judge us while on earth right before we die?

The sinners

THE BATTLE AXE:  Lost Without GOD? (06/26/2013)—All men feel some degree of separation from GOD.  The Almighty must exercise authority and impartiality, yet, maintain exalted sovereignty, holiness, and sanctification.  There must be order, process, sequence and structure that, taken all together, appear as separation.  By contrast, the separation that results from defiance, disobedience, distrust, fear, guilt, shame, or willful persistence in sin is not permanent, and may be removed through divine operations that include forgiveness, rebirth, and repentance.  In this sense, GOD manages fellowship and intimacy for believers the same way a mother or father seeks to be their child’s confidant without losing their own proper place as an adult, their changing place as the child’s caretaker, protector and teacher, or their permanent place as parent.  See Isaiah 59:  1-21, John 17:  14-26 and Hebrews 12:  1-11, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.  If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:  on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.  But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.  Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:  and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?  And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.  (1st Peter 4:  12-19, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  To Find A True Christian? (06/17/2013); Unseen Sin? (06/18/2013); Teachings on Judgment (06/06/2013); Those Who Never Heard? (06/07/2013); If You Are Sent…? (06/08/2013); Scriptures and Sayings (06/09/2013); Must We Really Die? (05/13/2013)

“ubhannahh”, here are some points describing divine judgment that are widely shared among Christian believers:

(1)  The sacred operation of judgment is eternal, and appears as an aspect of divine being, and sacred person.  GOD is a spirit who reveals divinity by imparting spirit matter to created beings and living creatures.  The “acts” and spirit substance of GOD establish awareness of divine power, possibility, and presence that includes creation, forgiveness, judgment and salvation.

(2)  Judgment of those upon the earth (animals, mankind, spirit beings) has already begun, and is a continuing sacred process that is now focused upon “the household of GOD” meaning, those in covenant, those in adoption and rebirth through the imparted indwelling Spirit, and those entrusted who serve through the ministry of Jesus as Risen Lord.  Those who, in the end, are accounted as redeemed and saved, first, have also been regarded as sinners along with those who are wicked.  Instead of behavior and conduct, that frequently shifts and changes, the make-up and spirit content of all living persons will be examined.

(3)  In order to list the peculiar sequence of events that pertain to judgment believers include:  (a.) the law proclaimed (with its benefits, punishments and sanctions), (b.) the accomplishments of death (e.g., redemption, release from sin, and transfer of inheritance through the law), (c.) the completion of documents that serve as life-records with the conclusion of inquiry, investigation and truth-finding, (d.) rebirth and resurrection, (e.) the sanctification and perfection of those embracing salvation, (f.) examinations from the book of life, (g.) the destruction of the wicked, and (h.) a distribution of divine rewards.

There is no simple explanation, or abbreviated way to clarify the many profound truths of judgment.  There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  there are three events we think of as “final judgment.”  The first is when Christ returns to harvest the earth and receive all those who acknowledge him as Savior.  However, their judgment already will have been completed.  The “white throne” judgment, sees the wicked appear before Christ.  This occurs after Satan is cast into the lake of fire.  Because the process of divine judgment may only involve the living; the dead must be revived, and do not answer any angel, devil or human accuser.  They must acknowledge the record of their own deeds.  Finally, following the second death whereby all the wicked are destroyed, there will be a judgment for appointment of divine duties and privilege within the eternal kingdom.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/26/2013) Lost Without GOD?

The problems of knowing and not knowing GOD are the topic, today, along with more on having a relationship and not just knowledge.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “DESMOND” (Level 1 with 100 points, a member since June 24, 2013) posted the following:

I think i’m lost without God?

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Relationship not Just Knowledge? (06/25/2013)—  (5)  The salvation we speak of is not an invisible, one-time, sacred event where GOD operates upon human awareness and then becomes distant and remote.  Salvation is a continuing consciousness of GOD whereby believers apply their own endowment of sacred substance in building, decision-making, forecasting, interaction, judgment and shared experience.  It is in this sense that one must “give to get,” and one can achieve nothing without making a total investment of oneself.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good report.  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.  By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him:  for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.  But without faith it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  (Hebrews 11:  1-6, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  To Find A True Christian? (06/17/2013); Unseen Sin? (06/18/2013); Life Given By Knowledge? (04/03/2013); A Spirit Church? (04/04/2013); To See With New Eyes (11/06/2012); A Life Companion? (11/07/2012); Unanswered Prayers? (09/11/2011); When You Pray (09/12/2012)

DESMOND, here are some points to consider that are important to a full and correct understanding for Christian believers:

(1)  The problem of not knowing GOD results in created beings and living creatures operating in terms of imperfection (we say, immaturity) and their less developed nature.  Human potential includes ability to operate after an animal, or a divine nature.  By the one, aspects of the flesh dominate (e.g., appetite such as hunger, thirst, craving for sexual activity; sensation such as hearing, seeing, tasting, touching; mental operations such as desire, fantasy, imagination, recall, thought).  By the other, aspects of spirit control and establish being, person, purpose, relationship, and vision.

(2)  The problem of knowing GOD is that material, physical and social truth are not always upheld by ones spirit content.  Contradictions, disbelief, human error, and spiritual confusion repeatedly occur until operating in line with divinity becomes habitual, regular, and stable.  Those who are “born again” MUST grow up again; and encounter “growing pains” again.

(3)  For mankind, correctly realizing how to operate in a relationship to the Creator and Maker of the universe must be achieved using the materials of human experience.  Included are change, emotions, growth, knowledge, interaction, language, and work.  Nevertheless, there must be a transformation of human make-up.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  A “connect” must be in place whereby the Almighty may know or recognize his created ones as well as be known by them.  Through baptism (we say, rebirth having divine DNA), believers possess the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD made available through the ministry of Jesus Christ.  Thereafter, as Christians one must meet the challenges of life, and may seem to stray or wander.  However, these are as those who left Egypt and could not enter the Promised land for 40 years; or like the “lost sheep” of Israel.  GOD always knows where they are, and that they belong to him.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/25/2013) A Relationship not Just Knowledge?

Differences among believing in a god, believing in a sacred book or holy writings, and having a positive relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ are topics, today.  Also, there is more on believers and the cross.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Timothy” (Level 1 with 84 points, a member since June 19, 2013) posted the following:

I believe in a god but I dont fully believe in the bible. Is it still christian or is it another religion?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Believers and the Cross (06/24/2013)—In the holy writings, a “sign from GOD” is a material and physical event occurring in nature to certify that a peculiar message or prophecy is authentic, and that the word proclaimed from GOD will definitely come to pass.  Like the word “Amen” signaling suspension of ones self-will and acceptance of the divine will, the “sign of the cross” is a gesture used by many believers to indicate agreement and conclusion in prayer.  Some also use the sign of the cross to invoke divine authority, or as a tool and weapon to exorcise and repel unclean spirits.  For many, a crucifix is a cross that displays the figure of Christ, and is intended to stir compassion, empathy, and acknowledgment for the sufferings and death of Jesus.  By the crucifix, a believer is made present at the foot of the cross while Jesus is yet dying.  Through the Holy Spirit, he or she receives access to humility, faith, love, and sorrow for sin along with the peculiar joy of the Lord that serves as strength during affliction and tribulation.  By contrast, the emblem of the empty cross points to a believer’s baptism, the Savior’s resurrection, the promise of his second coming, and his eternal triumph over death.  Far from being reminders of inhuman cruelty, depression, despair, fear, or self-destruction, the cross and crucifix are received as divine gifts pointing believers to the truth of eternal life, and the unseen things of GOD for the transformation of mankind into beings like Christ who will be incorruptible and immortal.  While the two emblems silently speak of dependence upon GOD for life, they also declare sacred truths of duty, forgiveness, impartial judgment, justice, kindness, obedience, repentance, the perfection of self-will in created beings and living creatures, sacrifice, selflessness, and surrender.   See Romans 6:  1-23, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.  Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:  but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  (Romans 8:  5-17, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Emotional Appeal? (04/02/2013); Life Given By Knowledge? (04/03/2013); The Love of GOD (03/03/2013); Our Need for a Son (03/04/2013); Foolish For Not Believing? (03/22/2013); Science and the Laws of Nature? (03/23/2013); How to Love GOD? (03/24/2013); Before Abraham Was… (03/14/2013); On Titles and Respect (03/15/2013); What to Take Literally (03/11/2013); A GOD of War? (03/12/2013)

Timothy, be encouraged!  Here are some points to consider that have been very helpful to many Christian believers:

(1)  Gaining knowledge about GOD is only one aspect of the process of being in a beneficial and satisfying relationship with GOD.  To have life as sons and daughters to GOD, believers must receive divine spirit substance that comes only from the person of GOD (we say, must be born again from divine instead of human DNA).  The spirit content of GOD includes faith, holiness, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom and wrath against sin.  Believers study the Bible to acquire a shared language for expressing their commonly held beliefs and expectations, and to participate in a community of those who serve and worship GOD.  Believers are not “saved” because of their affiliations, behavior, knowledge, mental or physical abilities, skills, or talents.  Salvation is by the grace of GOD, and as divinity responds to each believer’s endowment of the imparted, indwelling spirit of Jesus Christ.

(2)  Believers trust that the Bible is a special record given to mankind by GOD describing sacred events and operations that have been completed to accomplish eternal purposes in earth and in heaven (the place of celestial presence).  The Bible permits believers to experience a divine point of view (so to speak), and depicts various sacred issues, processes and thoughts by using thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years.  Included are atonement, birth, death, covenant, forgiveness, prophecy, rebirth, resurrection, and judgment.

(3)  All who later stand as confident believers start out having doubts, fear, questions, and uncertainty as result of the various claims and opposition made in society, and in the world.  Consciousness of GOD and trust must be developed over time; and so, the process of re-learning and apprehending what GOD reveals of himself is spoken of as “rebirth”.  Born again, one must grow up again; and must encounter challenges and growing pains.  In this sense, becoming Christian is no different than learning “mama”, “dada” and taking first steps.  It does not happen by magic.  Truth from GOD is discovered and recognized (we say, discerned) by focusing and marshaling ones own divine content.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  GOD is a person whose make-up is entirely of spirit matter.  Through multiple sacred operations GOD has appeared in the earth as the man, Jesus.  Through Jesus, GOD was to be more easily known by men upon the earth; and, now that he has returned into heaven, for many of us, to know Jesus is as difficult as knowing GOD.  To know GOD and his Christ, finite created beings and living creatures must become free from the frameworks of time and space as well as from sin, and every dependence upon carnal, material and social truth.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/24/2013) Believers and the Cross

The proper meaning and use of the cross is today’s topic; also, there is more on money-changers in the Temple at Jerusalem.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Kca404” (Level 3 with 2,146 points, a member since February 18, 2008) posted the following:

Christians whats with crosses?

I mean think about it. If you were jesus and you came back from a 2000 year nap would you really want to look around and see the instrument of your demise everywhere?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Money-changers in The Temple? (06/23/2013)—It was more than 400 years after Malachi that Israel was again blessed to receive anointed prophets, first through John the Baptist, then, through the ministry of Jesus.  Not only did the money-changers as a continuing fixture at Jerusalem give the appearance that the Temple was a secular institution where spiritual redemption and salvation could be bought and sold with money (e.g., thirty pieces of silver), where divination and prophecy were available as services-for-hire, and where the law and judgment executed under GOD were made to appear subject to bribery and the giving of material gifts, and legitimate fines and penalties of the law could be annulled and circumvented.  While the economy of Israel as a nation had been established by GOD centering upon acknowledgment of divinity through support of the Tabernacle, the presence of the money-changers continued as a tradition and was not an anointed priesthood.  Fulfilling prophesies written in Isaiah, Jesus is also to be seen as the ruler anointed by GOD, as opposed to one appointed by Rome, and coming to the Temple as “king of the Jews.”  See Deuteronomy 12:  1-32, Leviticus 27:  30-34, Micah 3:  10-12, KJV.  Also, see Isaiah 43:  15-28, Matthew 21:  8-16 and John 12:  12-15, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel:  not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.  For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.  Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.  For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:  That no flesh should glory in his presence.  (1st Corinthians 1:  17-29, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Purchased With Blood? (12/29/2012); The Law Not Flawed (12/30/2012); Signs of Messianic Belief? (12/16/2012); Vows and Covenants? (12/17/2012); Holiday Displays? (12/07/2012); An Attack Upon Creation? (12/08/2012); On Religious Items (08/29/2012); On Cults (08/30/2012)

“Kca404”, here are some points familiar to mature believers in Jesus Christ as their redeemer and savior:

(1)  The cross is not an idol (i.e., an object believed to contain a divine spirit or god that must be appealed to for safety, power and prosperity, and that must be shown respect and worship).  Also, the cross is not a talisman or instrument for working charms and magic spells.  Rightly understood, the cross is not an adornment or decoration to be worn as an object that beautifies.

(2)  As items in sacred service, crosses are like communion ware and incense burners that have importance as utensils and dedicated articles used in praise, prayer, and communal worship (e.g., the chalice, the monstrance, the paten).  Along with prayer and sacred utterance that sets an area apart as sacred and sanctified, the cross is often used to identify a place for inviting and acknowledging Christ.

(3)  The power of the cross is that a singular consciousness of GOD, and faith are crystallized, focused and increased within the awareness of those who confess need for salvation.  The cross, therefore, serves as a tool of divine prophecy that continually comforts, edifies, and exhorts.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  Believers realize that Jesus is not asleep and is not dead.  Jesus is presently completing divine operations in the heavens on behalf of mankind that include atonement and cleansing of the Temple, preparation to harvest and reap believers from the earth, and preparations for final judgment of the wicked.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/23/2013) Money-changers in The Temple?

The account of Jesus scourging money-changers in the Temple at Jerusalem is considered, today (see John 2:  13-21, KJV).  Also, there is more on the origins of baptism.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Painkiller” (Level 1 with 168 points, a member since May 6, 2013) posted the following:

Why did Jesus chase off the money-changers?

What if he needed to exchange his Shekles for Doubloons?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Origins of Baptism? (06/22/2013)—Christian believers are encouraged to understand the crossings of the Red Sea and Jordan River as depictions of baptism.  These crossings were shared experiences to further bind and cement together those that left Egypt to be joined as a new nation, rather than a collection of nomadic tribes.  The crossings were to set them apart and sanctify them just as hearing Almighty GOD proclaim the covenant law to their assembly at Sinai.  See 1st Corinthians 10:  1-4, Galatians 3:  26-28 and Hebrews 11:  29, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.  (Hebrews 9:  11-15, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Children, not the Dogs (03/17/2013); Why Jesus Must Be A Jew (03/18/2013); The Need to Purify Heaven (01/17/2013); Blessings, Curses and Woes (10/03/2012); After We Die? (10/04/2012); The First Jews (02/20/2012); Upon This Rock (02/21/2012); Entered Into Heaven (02/07/2012); Poem:  “The Magician:  Franco Gaskin” (02/08/2012)

“Painkiller”, here are some points to consider that may provide you greater appreciation and grasp of the ministry of Jesus in the earth:

(1)  After many visits to the Temple at Jerusalem in obedience to continuing Mosaic law binding the first-born and head of households to GOD, Jesus realized that the Temple at Jerusalem was being used by many as a “public forum,” a “business district” and a “market place.”  Many subtle, and barely visible transgressions of divine will were in regular practice—even working on the Sabbath day—and the house of prayer, was little more than a den of thieves.

(2)  The Temple community included priests, Levites (i.e.,  maintenance and service workers), scribes, lawyers, factions (i.e., Pharisees, Sadducees, Herodians, Zealots), livestock dealers, beggars, petitioners, those being examined or cleared regarding ceremonial uncleanness, and the followers of independent rabbis and teachers that were permitted to publicly advance scriptural instruction.  While only the priests were consecrated and appointed as agents of GOD, the entire Temple community had influence, and an unhealthy grip throughout the nation.

(3)  In accordance with the Scriptures, Jesus declared the presence of money-changers upon holy ground and within the sacred precincts, another tradition that violated the divine covenant.  Even before their crossing the Jordan, dispensations from the time of Moses gave rise to the practice of providing exchange services, and allowing purchase for sheep, goats and other sacrificial animals at the Tabernacle.  This made it possible for travelers to come from far distances, and to present substitute goods of equal value instead of their irreplaceable holy tithes and offerings.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  Driving out the money-changers was to be recognized as a prophetic demonstration (i.e., actions in place of words) signaling both atonement and cleansing of the Temple in the earth as well as cleansing of the Sanctuary within the Holiest of Holies in Heaven.  Therein Jesus is revealed as High Priest of a new and greater covenant.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/22/2013) Origin of Baptism?

Baptism, John the Baptist, Noah’s flood, and the Holy Spirit are topics, today, along with more on whether GOD grants license for sin.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Mario” (Level 4 with 3,339 points, a member since September 26, 2006) posted the following:

Where did John the Baptist get the idea to dunk people in water and call it baptism?

THE BATTLE AXE:  GOD Grants License? (06/20/2013)—The Kingdom of GOD is not the Land of Do As You Please.  To love us, GOD must suffer.  However, to be eternal, GOD must end divine suffering.  As an aspect of righteousness, GOD always responds to the image of himself residing in others with attention to detail, balance, benevolence, expectation, mercy, and vision.  Taken together, the sacred operations of GOD (e.g., blessing, communion, correction, curses, death, imprisonment, prosperity, punishment), do not permit created beings and living creatures to “get away with murder,” or to continue eternally in transgression of divine law.  The very existence of divinity establishes multiple dimensions for being, change, opportunity and possibility that remain unseen until actualized and revealed in accordance with divine will.  GOD is not blind, ignorant, lenient, or tolerant of sin, however, the processes for life and continued being for those within frameworks of time and space require measured change, the development of discretion, growth, flexibility, and resilience that appear only through ordered sequence.  A broad range of behavioral, emotional, mental, psychological and spiritual abilities and traits must be acquired that provide defining and permanent aspects of person along with an uninterrupted consciousness of GOD.  Included are accountability, dependence, dutifulness, faithfulness, interdependence, ownership, respect, and self-government.  (See Job 40:  1-14, Isaiah 57:  15-21, Jude 1:  5-7, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.  This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.  And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.  And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.  And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.  (John 1:  29-34, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Destroyed in Noah’s Flood (04/28/2013); Both Born Holy? (04/29/2013); Scripture at Funerals (04/30/2013); The Dove (12/28/2012); Purchased With Blood? (12/29/2012); Caesarea Philippi (10/22/2012); Fire Baptism (08/24/2012); Why No Answer? (08/25/2012)

Mario, here are some points to consider that may enrich your understanding of the sacrament of baptism:

(1)  As a sacred operation accomplished through action of the same Spirit that worked in Creation, baptism is not merely a human event, a religious ceremony, or a formal ritual to dramatize a person choosing to become a member of a church community.  In the holy writings, the earliest mention of “washing” speaks to removing surface uncleanness as an act of hospitality (i.e., refreshing and welcoming strangers by applying water to their feet), and the washing of ones clothes.

(2)  With the establishment of covenant, cleaning ones clothing and physical body become associated with anointing and holy oil to sanctify (cleanse, prepare to enter divine presence, and set apart for holy service) and to consecrate (install in holy office as priest or prophet).  An important feature of the Tabernacle was the laver of brass, wherein the priests were to wash before and after their service offering blood at the holy altar.  Atonement, sprinkling and remission of sins through blood come into view rather than washing by water.

(3)  The earliest and most important appearance of absolution, cleansing and washing away sin appears in the flood of Noah.  Hidden there are the full range of sacred operations we understand in baptism, today.  Included are death, judgment, preservation of divine law through the keeping of created beings and living creatures, rebirth, resurrection, and sanctification.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  Most believers in Jesus as Redeemer and Savior agree that John was separated and anointed by the Spirit of GOD to be a herald, a prophet and a witness to the divine consecration of Christ, instead of a mere priest or rabbi.  John was raised as a son and heir to the priesthood; and we even may say that John the Baptist grew up on holy ground, and was fed from the altar of GOD.  The discipline and training he received was probably conservative, traditional and very strict.  Nevertheless, in obedience to the Holy Ghost, John left the Temple at Jerusalem to carry out and perform the word of GOD.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/21/2013) GOD Grants License?

Today, how believers must center their focus upon themselves to accomplish spiritual growth, rather than upon Satan or others, is considered.  Also, there is more on provoking and testing GOD.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Diet Cola” (Level 7 with 29,730 points, a member since August 22, 2007) posted the following:

Why does God let Satan get away with so much?

THE BATTLE AXE:  On Testing GOD (06/20/2013)—In a certain sense, the love of GOD is demonstrated by “how much we get away with” (see 2nd Peter 3:  15, KJV).  The compassion, forbearance, forgiveness, longsuffering, mercy, and patience of GOD combine as a shield for those who are otherwise defenseless against righteous judgment.  The wrath of GOD against sin is not directed against created beings and living creatures.  Spirit substance from the person of GOD must continuously operate within before such features as awe, fear of the Lord, humility, respect, and reverence can appear in their most complete and balanced measure.  Much of the foolish and insulting behavior that is displayed against GOD derives from ignorance, immaturity, and underdevelopment that are acceptable as features of our human condition because they are “brief,” do not continue, cannot be spread to others as with disease, and do not endure.  Some behavior expressing defiance and rebellion is necessary for development of confidence, independence, integrity and self-possession.  In this, created beings and living creatures are like toddlers in the stage of early childhood we call “the terrible twos” where small children repeatedly challenge authority with shouts, and emphatic “No!”  In the child, behavior revealing inner conflict, fear, lack of knowledge for correct responses, and uncertainty also may be displayed; however, rarely is there continuing destructiveness, hostility, meanness, or malice.  GOD is goaded and proclaims his holy name, Jealous, when he is provoked to wrath by denial of his active presence, by worship of false gods, idols and vanities, or where the created are unresponsive to divine utterance.  (See Deuteronomy 29:  16-20, Zephaniah 3:  7-9, Isaiah 55:  7-11, Isaiah 42:  6-8, Romans 3:  19-23 and James 2:  18-20, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,  And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:  he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:  for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them.  Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.  (Revelation 12:  7-12, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  To Find A True Christian? (06/17/2013); Unseen Sin? (06/18/2013); The Love of GOD (03/03/2013); Our Need for a Son (03/04/2013); When Does Gossip Become Sin? (01/08/2013); Understanding Hell (01/09/2013); An Attack Upon Creation? (12/08/2012); The Focus of Judgment? (12/09/2012); The Adversary? (12/05/2012); “Soul” Food? (12/06/2012); A Partnership? (11/05/2012); To See With New Eyes (11/06/2012); (08/26/2011)  Dispatch 18:  The Ally [Enmity]; (08/29/2011) Dispatch 19:  The Ally [Invasion]; (08/30/2011) Dispatch 20:  The Ally [Able to Stand]; Why Disobey? (03/18/2011); Two Opinions? (03/19/2011)

“Diet Cola,” here are some points to consider that come into view as part of spiritual growth for Christian believers:

(1)  The answer to many of our questions about GOD’s response to other created beings and living creatures are to be found through examination of our own experience, and testimony.  One must say, Why does GOD allow ME to get away with so much?

(2)  Divine judgment is an ongoing reality whereby all Creation continues under sacred scrutiny and review.  Judgment is revealed as truth-finding, the identification of patterns among truths, and the amassing of information as evidence (the books of life).  In the final judgment of mankind and the elimination of the wicked, there is no prosecutor or official accuser.  We must acknowledge a record of our own deeds that express the content of our spirit; and it is in this sense that neither men nor angels are permitted to “get away” with anything.

(3)  Given that accountability, duty, and faithfulness are aspects of personal expression, ones prayer should never be, “Oh GOD, change my wife (or husband, children, parents, Satan, etc.)” or  even “Oh GOD, change my circumstances (i.e., society, the world, other people, etc.).”  Instead, “Oh GOD, help me to help them achieve the change they need or seek; Oh GOD, grant of your Holy Spirit:  Boldness, courage, insight, longsuffering, patience, strength, wisdom, and understanding.”

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  There is only one revelation of GOD to all Creation, for divinity is immutable and unchanging.  The Divine Person does not alter from one relationship to the next.  Similarly, divine law, sacred operations, and eternal purpose does not vary from person to person.  All have been equipped to discover and realize a single set of interrelated truths.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/20/2013) On Testing GOD

Challenge, life process, and temptation are topics, today, along with more on Bible authors and truth.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Jeremy Jay Beamer” (Level 1 with 65 points, a member since February 25, 2013) posted the following:

Why does the Bible say to not put God to the test when He puts His children to the test every day?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Bible Authors and Truth? (06/19/2013)—  (6)  The believer’s experience of faith operating within their own being and substance makes possible their acknowledgment of faith operating within the Bible authors.  More than this, believers understand that those who recorded the holy writings were chosen by GOD, elect, cleansed and set apart for divine service (we say, sanctified), made prominent through emblems, gifts and signs (we say, justified), delivered divine utterance (we say, prophesied), and used to display godly authority and power (we say, glorified).  Writers used for creating the Bible all were to function as caretakers of holy heritage, custodians, observers and witnesses to events among mankind that would proceed from divine presence, sacred operations, and sovereign interventions.  (7)  While many literary devices appear in the Scriptures that are similar to those featured in secular writing to amuse and entertain (e.g., dialog, metaphor, plots and counter-plots, simile, use of detail), the canon and standards for holy Scriptures demand content that reveals divine person, sacred operations, and eternal purpose.  Accordingly, the Bible is spoken of as “holy writings”, for included are admonitions, chronicles (we say, public records describing divine events), divine commands, doctrine, ordinations, parables, praises, prayers, promises, proverbs, prophecy, testimony, and verdicts in sacred judgment.  See Isaiah 55:  10-12, Matthew 13:  34-35, 1st Thessalonians 1:  2-6, Hebrews 4:  12 and 2nd Peter 1:  16-21, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;  And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;  And did all eat the same spiritual meat;  And did all drink the same spiritual drink:  for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them:  and that Rock was Christ.  But with many of them God was not well pleased:  for they were overthrown in the wilderness.  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.  Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.  Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.  Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.  Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.  Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  (1st Corinthians 10:  1-13, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Faith for Facing Tragedy? (06/04/2013); Words Spoken By GOD? (06/05/2013); Struggles? (05/11/2013); Through Much Tribulation (05/12/2013); Wanting To Have Our Way (03/09/2013); Bad Luck (02/25/2012); Violence In The Bible (02/26/2012); (12/16/2011) Girdle 31:  Being Mixed With Faith; GOD Tempted? (02/12/2011); The KJV Bible? (02/13/2011)

Jeremy, here are some points to consider that may appear strange or new to you, however, these ideas often are shared among believers, and those who function showing respect to GOD through Jesus Christ:

(1)  Becoming mature and the normative life process for mankind may be described as one of continual change and learning with emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual growth produced through encountering specific challenges.  Included are balance to stand and walk, developing dexterity and eye/hand coordination, language acquisition (mama/dada), falling in love, and parenting.

(2)  Where created beings and living creatures accept their given position within the sphere of divine being, they must cooperate with ongoing sacred operations such as creation, death, incarnation, judgment, praise, proclamation, promise, fulfillment of prophecy, rebirth, and sanctification.

(3)  As language from the Bible, to “tempt”, “temptation” and “test” primarily refer to attack, confrontation, or applying pressure to discover a limit and breaking point.  As with the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness (see Matthew 4:  1-11, King James Version), those who seek to “break GOD” or find weakness in divinity are usually those in spiritual confusion, having malice against GOD, and those whose self-will is dominated by sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example,  (4)  GOD revealed himself to Moses as a god of Judgment (see Exodus 34:  5-8, KJV).  While the children are not punished for the sins of their fathers, they are challenged through the consequences and effects of parental sin to the third and fourth generation—as much as 160 years.  Far from being arbitrary, capricious and optional, accountability, duty, and obligation with respect to GOD and divine law are shown to be non-negotiable aspects of being, order and existence.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/19/2013) Bible Authors and Truth?

The possibility that Bible authors were pressured by Old Testament prophecy to fabricate accounts of Jesus as Messiah is challenged, today.  Also, there is more on the Tower of Babel, and unseen sin.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Edward” (Level 4 with 3,058 points, a member since February 13, 2013) posted the following:

Because the Jewish OT prophesied about the messiah, was it envitable that later Bible authors…?

would write about Jesus, having never met him, believing that they were being guided by the Holy Spirit in what they were writing was the truth?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Unseen Sin? (06/18/2013)—The Tower of Babel continues to be an important caution and warning for modern-day Christian believers.  A subtle and understated human principle comes into view that is widely embraced within democratic nations, the rule that there is strength in numbers:  Where enough people accept, agree upon, or perform a behavior, it may be accounted as “harmless”, “normal”, no longer a threat to society, and, therefore, no longer “sin” or an obstacle to right relationship with GOD.  In keeping with such thinking, Americans have seen Sabbath (Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays) become the time for exalting athletes and football rather than church attendance with praise to GOD; and holy matrimony with obligation to maintain heritage and priesthood from GOD through maintenance of traditional family is increasingly confounded by demands that same-sex  (homosexual and lesbian) relationships must be respected as lawful marriage.  Right relationship with GOD may not be founded upon temporal events or the ever-changing truth of human experience.  Affection, dreams, fantasy and imagination may color and add excitement, however, such vanities cannot be trusted as foundations for eternity.  The overriding principle from the holy writings must continue to come into view, the rule of judgment according to privilege:  Atonement also must be made for sins committed by an entire community that have been performed in ignorance of the divine law, of sacred process, and of the consecrated purposes of GOD (see Leviticus 4:  13-21, Luke 12:  47-48, Acts 3:  13-21, and 1st Timothy 1:  5-14, KJV).  On behalf of believers, Christ has completed all the necessary work for atonement, redemption, and salvation through his death on the cross.  It remains that each Christian believer must personally confess participation in the collective error, repent, and appropriate the holy provisions from Christ.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.  Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.  And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;  As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.  (2nd Peter 3:  9-18, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Words Spoken By GOD? (06/05/2013); Teachings on Judgment (06/06/2013); Why Jesus Authored No Books (05/01/2013); Recognizing True Prophets (05/02/2013); False Witness? (10/31/2010); Bible Complete? (11/01/2010); Holy Writings? (11/02/2010)

Edward, there are many points a person must consider, here, to avoid folly, presumption, and spiritual confusion.  Included are these:

(1)  The holy writings were carefully collected, fitted together and preserved as a tool for continuing a priesthood upon the earth that completes and finishes a sacred pattern in heaven.

(2)  Men who have no sacred knowledge or part in the priesthood, yet seek to handle and manipulate the Scriptures, may do so without fear of the Lord (i.e., humility and reverence; correct awareness of divine awe), or expectation of divine judgment and punishment.  However, these also are established in a self-awareness as attackers, blasphemers, mockers, and destroyers of faith and right knowing for others.  More than this, in addition to violating aspects of their own conscience and personal integrity, those who continue in such error must realize a decay and decomposition of their own sense of commitment, dutifulness, faithfulness, honor, righteousness, self-respect, and will power to embrace the things from GOD.

(3)  The divine endowments, knowledge, and motives of men are made visible and transparent through the holy writings.  Antichrists, charlatans, deceivers, false prophets, hypocrites, impostors and unclean spirits all are exposed by the Scriptures.

(4)  The operation of GOD and sacred process within created beings and living creatures may be communicated among men by their questions, responses to one another as well as their routine conduct, and is not only displayed and revealed through formal religious ceremony and ritual.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5)  The experience of knowing Jesus is through ones spirit content providing awareness that is shaped entirely by faith, an aspect of full divinity inseparable from such other divine substance as forgiveness, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom and wrath against sin.  The mundane elements of human discourse and intellect (we say, brilliance, cleverness, logic, reason) do not reveal the active presence of GOD, and cannot replace the imparted, indwelling Spirit available through the ministry of Jesus Christ that permits one to know GOD as GOD knows himself.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/18/2013) Unseen Sin?

Conspiracy, sin, and the Tower of Babel are topics, today.  Also, there is more on finding a true Christian.  The “Yahoo! Answers” Top Contributor using ID “exs” (Level 5 with 9,932 points, a member since June 4, 2012) posted the following:

What is the deal with the tower of babel…god didn’t like people working together so he made it so they?

couldn’t get along, or was it as the bible says, that we would become gods if we worked together. Is god attacking people so we won’t work together. Is world peace against god’s plan

THE BATTLE AXE:  To Find A True Christian? (06/17/2013)—True Christians are those who continually confess that they are imperfect and incomplete without GOD.   Such believers correctly acknowledge that their love, their obedience, their reverence, their prayers, their service, their understanding, their worship all miss the mark, and are unacceptable to GOD without the grace divinity supplies.  Many are beset with sin that appears to be no sin, that is, ambition, envy, immaturity, lack of focus, and pride.  All Christian believers are in a process of divine transformation from mortal to immortal and incorruptible.  As such all are in transition, and continue as “works in progress.”  Sincerity and zeal are not acceptable measures for deciding a “true Christian.”  Many are sincere in their belief of false doctrine, errors, heresy, and lies.  (See Isaiah 66:  1-5, Philippians 3:  7-14 and Matthew 9:  10-13, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.  All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.  Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.  The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORDthough hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:  and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.  (Proverbs 16:  1-6, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  A Second Adam? (03/25/2013); GOD Hiding in Plain Sight (03/26/2013); (12/20/2011) Girdle 35:  The Framework Of Unity; (08/19/2011) Dispatch 11:  Peace (Hand in Hand); Bad Company? (02/10/2011); Conspiracy? (12/08/2010); Lost Faith? (12/09/2010)

“exs”, here are some important points acknowledged by many mature Christian believers as shared from GOD through Jesus Christ:

1)  Sin cannot be correctly detected and resisted by created beings and living creatures without various spiritual devices and tools provided by Almighty GOD.  Included are anointed leaders, divine law, righteous testimony, holy proclamations, sacred promise, prophecy, the holy writings, and the living examples of those who serve in ministry.

2)  Sin was first detected among the holy angels; however sin has neither being nor substance, and is not made up of any physical or spirit matter.   We say, sin is “no-thing;” yet, sin opposes the existence of divine law (i.e., the expressed will of GOD), the continued being of the Law Giver, and the continued existence of all under the authority and protection of the Law.  Sin may dominate self-will in created beings and living creatures; however, sin cannot alter or influence the will of GOD.

3)  Mankind was created to inhabit and maintain the entire earth.  The sons of Noah were to overspread the earth, and fulfill the first commission (be fruitful, multiply, and replenish).  However, mankind became committed to defiance and rebellion by working together to create a tower upon the earth that would allow access to heaven in case of another destroying flood.  Babel became a magnet and center (we say, city) to all.  Multiple offenses against GOD were committed thereby, including conspiracy, disobedience, idolatry, lack of faith, pride, self-promotion, and unbelief.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, 4)  The earth has been created by GOD, while the world has been the creation of mankind.  The world is a necessary human system for communication, exchange of resources, meeting shared challenges, solving shared problems, and survival.  Included in the world are culture, entertainment, history, medicine, politics, science and technology.  Because the world also embraces defilement of spirit, human error, and sin, the world repeatedly generates conflict between mankind and his Maker.  However, peace is not the outcome of conflict and war; peace comes only by restoration of order and the settlement of dispute through law, that is, by judgment.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/17/2013) To Find A True Christian?

Judging others to find a “true Christian” is the topic, today.  Also, there is more on not feeling loved by GOD.  The “Yahoo! Answers Top Contributor” using ID “Forrest Toney” (Level 7 with 26,620 points, a member since February 12, 2011) posted the following:

Is it likely I can find a true Christian who is obeying all of Jesus’ sayings?
Additional Details

MKE-MKE ……… I STILL LOVE YOU , ANYWAY . I GUESS I GOT YOUR GOAT . WHY CONSIDER YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN IF YOU DO NOT THINK YOU HAVE TO OBEY ALL OF HIS SAYINGS /

THE BATTLE AXE:  Feeling Loved By GOD? (06/16/2013)—Believers often fail at first to see the love of GOD that must appear in themselves through gradual change that is growth and transformation.  Like their own chin, their nose, or the back of their head, divine favor and love can be with a believer at all times, however is intended to be visible to others, partially viewed or unseen by themselves, glimpsed infrequently, or seen only as a mirror image and reflection.  The love of GOD is made visible through ministry and unselfish acts to serve and uplift others.  Believers therefore proceed on the basis of divine utterance and their own content of sacred substance such as faith, longsuffering, the promises of GOD, proclamation, prophecy, righteousness and wisdom.  Believers are to increasingly recognize spirit matter interwoven with the routine things of their experience, instead of seeking unusual displays of supreme authority such as exorcism, healing, marvels, miracles, raising the dead, signs, storms, upheavals, and wonders.  See 2nd Corinthians 5:  6-8, Mark 10:  35-45 and Hebrews 6:  10, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.  Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.  But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment:  yea, I judge not mine own self.  For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified:  but he that judgeth me is the Lord.  Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts:  and then shall every man have praise of God.  (1st Corinthians 4:  1-5, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  About Preaching the Gospel (04/18/2013); When Does Gossip Become Sin? (01/08/2013); Understanding Hell (01/09/2013); Why Is GOD Blamed? (08/23/2012); Fire Baptism (08/24/2012); Jesus Our “Advocate” (08/16/2012); Wrong To Love? (08/17/2012)

Forrest, many make the mistake of seeking to assess and evaluate divine presence within created beings and living creatures by using reasoning and standards that only apply to carnal, material and social realities.   Here are some points for understanding important to avoiding spiritual confusion and unbelief:

(1)  Accurate and thorough examination of mankind requires a divine judge who has served as a righteous king, a holy priest, and a suffering savior.  Judgment to determine spiritual righteousness must be balanced, detailed, formal, impartial, and methodical, yet must embrace compassion, empathy, love and respect.

(2)  In divine judgment, attitude, behavior and conduct are “surface” effects that may indicate unseen spirit content, and sacred substance.  However, the same effects also may appear through the flesh (appetite such as hunger, thirst, and sexual cravings; sense such as hearing, seeing, tasting, touching; and operations of mind such as desire, fantasy, imagination, recall).

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3)  Ones own human standard and process to apply the things from GOD that would identify a “true Christian” may be flawed, and may lack the necessary fineness to capture subtlety (barely visible differences) between and among operations of the Holy Spirit within believers.  Members of the body of Christ are to be complementary, diverse, interdependent, and perform at multiple levels of commitment, faith, gifts, knowledge, maturity, skill, and perfection.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
