(09/30/2013) GOD is Acknowledging

The commandment against worship of false gods is in view, today.  Also, there is more on the connection for animals and sin.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers New Zealand” using the ID “IFollowEvidence&Facts” (a member since 27 October 2012) posted the following that was originally asked at “Yahoo! Answers United Kingdom”:

Thou shall not worship any other gods but me...is god acknowledging that other gods DO exist?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Animals Do Not Sin? (09/29/2013)—  (5.)  The existence and presence of animals upon the earth may be understood as a further aspect of divine revelation using features and objects patterned after things that exist in the celestial presence (we say, heaven).  The created beings and living creatures that are seen and visible to mankind make possible a correct understanding that there are unseen angels and sacred beasts that are neither mortal nor immortal, yet, continue before the throne of GOD.  Animals, beasts of the fields, and wild beasts are a divine tool used to instruct mankind through admonition (we say, warnings), comparison (i.e., seeing how things are alike) and contrast (i.e., seeing how things are different).  Aspects of humanity and divinity are depicted including competition, duty, gentleness, mortality, reproduction, social living, unselfish service, and violence.  Animals also are used in divine operations to make sin known and understood.  However, sin is no material, social or spirit thing that exists, and remains invisible and undetectable without devices provided by GOD such as divine law, judgment, and the imparted, indwelling Spirit of Christ.  Sin may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures.  While blood representing the life essence (spirit) in animals was used to make atonement for sin and remove uncleanness, only a few, select animals could be used (bulls, doves, goats, and sheep).  Unclean animals were not to be eaten or used for sacrifice and worship.  Contact with the animals, insects, and various situations described as “unclean” rendered a person “spiritually unfit” and disqualified them from service and worship with others among the congregation of believers.  Uncleanness separated a person from their family and community, and required they rededicate themselves through fasting, private prayer, and washings.  Through the death of Jesus upon the cross, Almighty GOD has established an atoning sacrifice on behalf of all Creation.  See Ecclesiastes 3:  18-20, Numbers 22:  21-35, Romans 1:  20, 2nd Corinthians 4:  18, 2nd Peter 2:  9-16, Hebrews 9:  11-15, and Acts 10:  1-48, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.  Thou hast heard my voice:  hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.  Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee:  thou saidst, Fear not.  (Lamentations 3:  55-57, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  A Start for the Idea of GOD? (09/09/2013); The Bible and Genealogy (09/10/2013); Why Would GOD Worry About Us? (04/16/2013); How To Accept Bible Truth? (04/17/2013); A House of gods? (08/31/2012); Heaven For Muhammad? (09/01/2012)

I am trusting GOD that the following points will be helpful to others who want to clearly understand the operations of divinity among mankind:

(1.)  GOD is acknowledging that created beings and living creatures do not correctly apprehend Divine Person relying only upon the aspects of flesh such as appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), emotional and mental functions (e.g., fantasy, imagination, projection, recall).

(2.)  The make-up and substance of GOD is spirit, therefore, GOD must be understood as having no measurable dimensions or material form that may be known by created beings and living creatures except by continuous divine operations (we say, revelation).  Sacred events appear throughout human experience to reveal the Creator.  Included are animal sacrifices for atonement of sin, covenant agreements, bestowing ceremonial and civil laws, government through kings, judgment against sins, incarnation, and consecrated priesthood.

(3.)  Because created beings and living creatures are finite, and must rely upon the frameworks of time and space, many of the sacred processes and eternal purposes of the Maker will continue as invisible and unseen.  However, through the ministry of Jesus Christ, those born again in baptism (i.e., who die, are reborn and grow to spirit maturity provided with divine DNA, so to speak) are granted discernment, and ability to eventually recognize a broad array of the things from GOD.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  There is no fixed human language to completely detail the mysteries and special knowledge of GODhead, and so all that we say to one another is a “rough approximation” of what we truly intend.   Answers about what and who is GOD demand an appreciation that all things in existence are not alive, yet, may have their being imparted from GOD.  There is a vast universe having place in addition to the earth.  Also, all who are alive are not divine, yet, may contain aspects of divine person from GOD.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, believers receive spirit substance that are inseparable aspects of the divine makeup.  Included are faith, holiness, humility, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/29/2013) Animals Do Not Sin?

The notion that animals do not sin is focus, today; and there is more on the death and dying of Jesus upon the cross.  The “Yahoo! Answers Canada” writer using ID “Arctic Spirit” (Level 5 with 6,874 points, a member since July 21, 2010) posted the following:

If it was Adam and Eve that sinned first, and death would be the result of that sin...?

.... Why do other creatures that had nothing to do with the human population had to pay for the sin of man? Wild animals never sinned, humans did!!!

THE BATTLE AXE:  Dying in Terror and Joy? (09/28/2013)—  (5.)  The death of Jesus was not simply the completion of mortality for a single sinner, the death of a single man.  The cross depicts the destruction of all sin, where sin is understood as no material thing created by GOD, or contained within the substance of created beings and living creatures.  Sin appears through human experience as a frightening mix of deformed and malformed desires and intentions (we say, horrors, monsters and monstrosities).  Sin may not control and influence the will of GOD.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divinity, of sacred law, and of all that has been put forth as Creation.  Sin is without being, measurable dimensions, feelings, personness, or divine purpose.  Yet, sin has direction, effect, and presence, and may invisibly dominate awareness and self-will in the created.  Sin is not a divine essence like the inseparable aspects of sacred person (e.g., faith, glory, holiness, joy, longsuffering, truth, virtue, and wisdom).  Jesus suffers and dies on behalf of all who need release from enslavement to sin, ignorance of GOD, and the burning loss of divine nature.  Through surrender of his blood and life essence (flesh and spirit) there can be permanent restoration to GOD that only comes by atonement, re-creation (we say, becoming new creatures, being born again, rebirth), repentance and sanctification.  Upon the cross, Christ was made to be sin, and the wrath of GOD against all sin was turned against him.  The cross served as an altar (i.e., a holy table; a point of contact and joining for both heaven and earth).  Rejected, Jesus may not set foot upon the earth, nor is he immediately lifted up into heaven.  For this reason, the cross is a scene of final judgment, the day of the Lord.  Graves are opened; in the city, the dead are seen to be revived; and at the place of a skull (Calvary, Golgotha) where Jesus is suspended between heaven and earth, there is a storm of silence, stillness, and unexpected darkness.  (See Psalms 30:  1-12, Revelation 6:  17, 2nd Corinthians 4:  6-11, and Revelation 20:  11-15, KJV.)  (6.)  As the finishing work for salvation, the resurrection appearances, his return to the celestial presence of the Father, and his ascension must occur before the final completion of the three-and-one-half year ministry of Jesus upon the earth could be celebrated in heaven.  Yet, Jesus could rejoice dying upon the cross being fully alive to the praises, proclamations, promises and prophecies provided by GOD for all mankind.  Through the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD, there would be triumph over all the fear, pain and violence introduced by sin as continuing aspects of existence for mankind.  Through the imparted, indwelling Spirit it is possible to achieve every godly goal—nothing would be impossible—and all duty for created beings and living creatures would be within their capabilities.  The physical processes of death and dying remain unchanged; however, the application of death in judgment is transformed.  Death and dying that end sin and separation from GOD no longer quenches faith, divine joy, love and genuine reverence.  Only the second death removes all possibilities for continuing and restored existence.  (See Psalms 115:  15-18, 1st Corinthians 15:  50-57 and Romans 8:  35-39, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them:  that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.  And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you:  for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.  But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey:  I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.  Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean:  and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.  And ye shall be holy unto me:  for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.  (Leviticus 20:  22-26, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Destroyed in Noah’s Flood? (04/28/2013); Both Born Holy? (04/29/2013); Why Blood? (04/13/2013); Time Before the Sun? (04/14/2013); A Second Adam? (03/25/2013); GOD Hiding in Plain Sight (03/26/2013); Sin Without Wrongdoing? (08/28/2012); On Religious Items (08/29/2012)

“Artic Spirit”, here are a few points on sin and the divine Creation that are being used to prepare Christian believers for the completion of divine judgment:

(1.)  Sin opposes the continued existence of GOD, whose makeup is entirely of spirit, yet, who appears to mankind in flesh as Jesus Christ.  Sin is no material thing put forth by GOD, and lacks dimension, divine substance, and sacred purpose.  Even so, sin has direction, effect, and presence; and sin is able to dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures.

(2.)  Sin was first detected among holy angels in the place of celestial presence (we say, heaven).  Sin opposes the existence of divine law.  Sin does not function or operate according to emotions, intellect, logic, mental power and reasoning.  Thus, college professors, those born in poverty, those of the middle class, those born in a royal house, all may become subject to sin.

(3.)  All things in existence upon the earth are not alive.  Even so, objects that exist for ones awareness may become aspects and instruments for focus through sin.  Divine content may be contained and transferred through things that are not alive.  (Examples are consecrated altars, blood, and holy ground.)  In the earth realm, an atmosphere or culture that promotes defilement, idolatry, things that are profane, and sin may be fashioned using things that are made by mankind.  Things also may be formed from human imagination to spread defilement and profanity.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  The destruction of all living in the flood at Noah’s day is a depiction of divine judgment to correct and fulfill Creation.  The operations of sin are subtle (we say, barely visible; unseen), and cannot be detected, resisted or eliminated without correctly using an array of tools supplied by GOD.  Included are cautions, covenants, divine law, the record of judgments against sin, and the imparted, indwelling Spirit of Jesus.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/28/2013) Dying in Terror and Joy?

Focus, today, is upon the death of Jesus Christ on the cross; and there is more on duty and love within families.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Diet Cola” (Level 7 with 30,755 points, a member since August 22, 2007) posted the following:

Why did Jesus have to die so terribly?

Couldn't there have been some other way?

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Lid on Love? (09/27/2013)—The divine spirit of love in mankind may be quenched through sin, and bonds of love that should be permanent may be replaced by distrust, fear, and shame.  In most instances of continuing conflict within the home, all the parties involved are wrong in different ways.  The hardness of heart that results in separation usually develops over time, and does not happen in an instant (see Proverbs 26:  2, KJV).  Much of our dissatisfaction and unhappiness with other family members results from our desires for unlimited freedom through love.  Rightly understood, however, love always entails voluntary acceptance of limits, self-restraints and rules (particularly, biting our tongue).  The goals, needs, and process among friends and the “fun bunch” are not those vital to home life.  In healthy families, there are numberless demands and duties that must be answered for avoidance and management of problems, for joint exploration of unfamiliar territory, for mutual support, and for shared protection and survival.  Confidence, hope, and continuing trust within relationships often depend upon meeting unspoken expectations, and not speaking every desire and thought.  For both children and parents, separation is an unavoidable aspect for properly becoming mature and establishing ones adult independence.  Parents are often impressed by their children’s behavior and conduct that, as some birds must force their young out of the nest, separation must be imposed upon their own offspring.  Ideally, the child’s continuing achievements, self-acceptance, respect for their parents, and genuine understanding of adult reality completes the separation without anger, bitterness, and resentment due to immaturity.  For gay and lesbian children to demand acceptance by their parents as a matter of obligation is no different than a demand that every stranger must become ones friend.  In life, you will not like every person you meet, and every person you meet may not like you.  We are not free to alter and change others, or enforce our will as more beneficial than theirs.  Truth is, the character and personality of ones parents can be such that, were they to meet their parents as strangers, the children would want nothing to do with them, would carefully avoid them, and would “break it off something proper.”  Similarly, were parents to meet their own children socially or in the work place as strangers, they would not seek regular contact, or a closer bond with them.  Separation can be imposed, however, acceptance cannot.  Relationships of acceptance only come through exchange, interaction, and correctly responding to one another’s human needs.  It is a common error to expect the needs of our spirit can be effectively met by someone other than GOD.  (See Psalms 27:  9-14, Matthew 10:  3239 and Matthew 12:  46-50, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.  (Hebrews 12:  1-3, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Return in Glory? (07/04/2013); Desire for Love? (07/05/2013); Believers and the Cross (06/24/2013); A Relationship not Just Knowledge (06/25/2013); Death Has Been Transformed (05/09/2013); Loving the Enemy? (05/10/2013); The Passion at Gethsemane (03/28/2013); Separated and Sealed? (03/29/2013); Father Forgive (09/06/2012); Beer in My Milk? (09/07/2012)

“Diet Cola”, here are a few points to consider that are useful to Christian believers as they enter into a deeper awareness of GOD:

(1.)  In Jesus Christ, the fearsome majesty and awesome power of GOD are hidden from mankind in the sacred events of the cross so that the fundamental levels of human awareness may be fully engaged.  Included are the peculiar bonds of feeling and recognition typically relied upon by those in the flesh.  By the work of the cross, and the events that follow, awareness and consciousness in all created beings and living creatures are to be transformed so that they more easily respond to spirit matter, and the substance of divine person.

(2.)  Multiple divine operations occur in the cross such that the death of Jesus is both simple and profound (i.e., far reaching in application, consequences, and effect).  Included are atonement, expiation (i.e., punishment and suffering for wrongdoing), obedience, reconciliation, revelation, and sacrifice.

(3.)  All the anguish and fear that comes upon the universe by sin is to be made apparent by the cross, and destroyed in an act of overwhelming divinity.  On the one hand, Jesus accepts his death and goes to the cross willingly.  On the other hand, Jesus, like every man, does not have a perfect understanding of what he must go through.  His decision, like that for believers today, does not come from emotion, full knowledge, information, intelligence, logic, predictions of the future, or reason.  His commitment comes from such aspects of his spirit makeup as faith, love, respect, and trust.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  The blood of the cross is necessary for things in heaven as well as for things upon the earth.  The blood of Jesus that flowed at the cross must stream over time and space to anoint believers everywhere.  Also, a cleansing of the Sanctuary in heaven must be accomplished.  Operations of the Holy Spirit (the very essence that appeared at the beginnings of Creation) suspend time and space as barriers, and further completes the full ministry of Jesus as our High Priest.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/27/2013) A Lid on Love?

Acceptance, rejection and love among family are the focus, today.  Also, there is more on church as a brand, and what Christians may speak against other believers.  A writer posting at “Yahoo! Answers UK & Ireland” with the ID “ewan_whose_army” (Level 2 with 252 points, a member since 25 August 2013) shared the following:

Why do people let religion get inbetween themselves and those they should love?

Such as in those parents who kick their kids onto the streets if they turn out gay or don't conform to whatever their religion requires.

THE BATTLE AXE:  On Marketing Church, and Speaking by Occasion (09/26/2013)—The ministry of Jesus Christ that must appear through the life and substance of each Christian believer often is described as heavy with conflict and self-contradiction.  After all, the believer is to condemn sin, yet love and be reconciled to the sinner.  The believer must exist using carnal, material, and social devices, yet be totally in service as a spiritual being and an instrument of divinity.  The believer must go out to the world, yet remain sanctified, set apart and unspotted.  Rightly understood, the church is a new creation, and its process of truth is intrapersonal, not interpersonal.  All necessary balance, flexibility, fullness and stability, are achieved through operations of the Spirit from GOD.  Through the Spirit of Truth (also called the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Prophecy) the believer is a spokesperson for GOD having authority to comfort, edify, and exhort—not to accuse, condemn, label others, make merchandise of the gifts from GOD, or slander.  As those accountable and charged with duties of leadership, bishops, elders and others may use admonition, sharpness and warning within their congregations, and for the benefit to their faith community.  However, these may not rely upon competitiveness, peer pressure, and the products of emotional, mental and psychological states.  Spirit content from Christ replaces so-called critical thinking, logic, and reason.  Inseparable aspects of divine person are in effect such as faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Believers are to be alert and vigilant exercising restraint upon self-will, and discerning the difference between divine doctrine and personal opinion the same way they are to thoughtfully recognize the intent and motives from public statements about and against the church, and Jesus Christ as its head.  (See Galatians 5:  14-16 and 2nd Timothy 2:  14-16, Colossians 2:  1-9, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.  But ye have not so learned Christ;  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.  Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour:  for we are members one of another.  Be ye angry, and sin not:  let not the sun go down upon your wrath:  Neither give place to the devil.  Let him that stole steal no more:  but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.  (Ephesians 4:  17-32, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Desire for Love? (07/05/2013); Feeling Loved By GOD? (06/16/2013); To Find a True Christian? (06/17/2013); A Family Affair? (04/01/2013); Emotional Appeal? (04/02/2013); The Love of GOD (03/03/2013); The Faith of Ones Parents? (11/18/2012); Reading Only The Red Part (11/19/2012); Love in Christ (10/23/2012); Escape from Racism? (10/24/2012); Family and Romance (10/13/2012); Why Courage? (10/14/2012)

Here are a few points Christian believers a challenged to consider and keep in mind:

(1.)  Intimate relationships and the expression of love require special levels of balance, discipline, order, restraint, stability, and structure.  Created beings and living creatures may be driven by appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual cravings), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching) and mind (e.g., fantasy, imagination, instinct, memory), we say, Flesh.  We also may be driven by spirit beings that oppose GOD (we say, the Devil), just as we may be under the influence of GOD.  Without being grounded and rooted, we self-destruct.  The aspects that are carnal, material, psychological, and social describe what may be called an animal nature for mankind.  To correctly experience the divine aspects of who we are, humans may not center their experience in a “rush”, “running on adrenalin,” or emotional and psychological extremes.

(2.)  Accountability, duty, and the pressures from specific goals necessarily generate barriers, limits, obstacles and silence among and within family relationships.  Often, these features seem to work like land mines, hidden and invisible weapons that distort and twist everything out of proportion.  The unspoken agreements that must be in place for any family to exist includes continually showing acceptance, acknowledgment, respect and trust.  Only by acts of kindness, dialog, giving, talking things out, and unselfishness that brings the hidden elements into clear view do the many different personalities of a family become an unbreakable unit.  Unfortunately, the hidden features also include dirt, filth and grime, the elements that otherwise appear through attacks, conflict and confrontation.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  Among Christians, some family members assume that others in the home and those of the extended family are under obligation to accept verbal abuse, denials of legitimate authority, disgrace, dishonor, insults, interference, opposition, and shame because all believers want to display “unconditional love.”  Those in error presume they know, take it for granted that they themselves have correctly answered, and repeatedly jump to conclusions about the feelings, needs and understandings of others.  Correction through Jesus Christ has shown us that the intent of divine acceptance and forgiveness through the family are the encouragement and support of sacrificial change (for the sake of others) that comes by growth, new learning, and where necessary “new birth”, the establishment of a new and godly spirit.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/26/2013) On Marketing Church, and Speaking by Occasion

Recently, I was pressed to decide how (and whether) to respond to current media reports describing an interview with the Pope and policies of the Vatican.  Today, I share some comments (below) on what it means to make church a brand, and to market evangelical and spiritual events.  A believer’s privilege to speak by occasion is considered along with the duty to not speak (keep silence), and to speak only prophecy.  Also, there is more on whether Jesus appeared having a halo.

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Halo Upon Jesus? (09/25/2013)—While the Bible is written in plain language and describes sacred events using visual images common in human experience, believers are to understand that profound aspects of divinity are being portrayed.  Thus, one of the holiest sacred events, the transfiguration of Jesus, is depicted through change in his clothing and outward appearance, and an audible voice speaking from heaven.  The glistening and whiteness of his garment expresses acknowledgment of his purity, a change in his awareness, and a further endowment to the content of his inner spirit.  See 2nd Corinthians 4:  6, Hebrews 2:  9, John 1:  14 and Matthew 17:  1-9, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.  I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.  And herein I give my advice:  for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.  Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.  For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.  (2nd Corinthians 8:  7-12, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Salvation for Atheists? (06/14/2013); Church is Good? (06/15/2013); On Titles and Respect (03/15/2013); On Producing Atheists (03/16/2013); My Sheep Hear My Voice (03/08/2013); Wanting To Have Our Way (03/09/2013)

As those who make visible the ministry of Jesus Christ, obedient believers are not permitted to gainsay Pope Francis I, or other prominent clergy.  Believers may not add to what the Pontiff speaks, stand in judgment of his public prayers, his praise and service, or seek to “have the last word” after the Pontiff has made a public statement.  To “gainsay” is to challenge, foster schism, and promote believers being opinionated within the body of Christ in the place of uttering prophecy with service as spokespersons of GOD and his Christ.  Even though I publish a sacred writings blog, this means I must “speak” like every other believer throughout the kingdom of GOD.  With such a rule in effect, I am not allowed to “second guess” the secular head of the Church of England, those who are Messianic and Jewish believers, or leaders for the many denominations that include the A. M. E. (African Methodist Episcopal), the Amish, the Baptist, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Latter Day Saints, the Seventh Day Adventists, or The United House of Prayer for All People.  Rightly understood, however, I absolutely must declare my own faith. (See 1st Corinthians 1:  21 and 24, Titus 1:  7-9, Acts 10:  25-29, Jude 10-13, KJV).

Attackers who seek occasion against, provoke, and repeatedly make malicious thrusts against the Pope may not be spoken of as true servants of the Lord, or agents and defenders of the church of Jesus Christ.  Questionable journalists in the media want to catch the Pope in an unguarded moment.  Like the paparazzi, they go about to embarrass, entangle and entrap leaders of the church within their own statements, and words.  Casual remarks and personal responses are made to appear as official declarations of policy, and the overturning of scriptural truth.  The critical speakers and writers distort true dialog, should be understood as dangerous disrupters, and are a serious distraction from the  genuine focus for the true work of the church. Believers today should all agree that, as surely as Jesus cast out devils, fed the hungry, forgave sin, and healed the sick, Christ cautioned the money-changers, the Pharisees, Rome (through Pontius Pilate), the Sadducees, and others.  Many hoped to condemn the Savior using his own public statements against him.  Even so, fulfillment of the Gospel was always the primary focus of his ministry upon the earth, including the sacred events of his death, burial, and resurrection.

More disturbing than the misguided media is the fact that, while representatives of our institutional churches share messages that exhort personal commitment, dialog, and encounter, in many instances those who seek the Lord only experience being challenged to respond to a “brand”.  Typically, there is a prominent person (like the Pope), who captures the hearts and minds of believers, whom believers will never have opportunity to share personal relationship with in this lifetime.  At best, believers are approached and encouraged by an apparatus calling itself/themselves “partners”, “the laity,” “the faithful,” “the team,” “assistant pastor,” “junior pastor,” “pastor’s wife,” “pastor’s staff,” “pastor’s dog,” “pastor’s cat,” etc.  It is very likely that the widespread apostasy, disenchantment, and disengagement we see in the church today is a direct result of the faith being advertised, media hyped, merchandised, and promoted like just another brand.  There is an overall air of dishonesty, rather than the fragrance of Jesus.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  These ideas are at best a beginning.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/25/2013) A Halo Upon Jesus?

Depictions of Christ showing a halo above or around his head are the topic, today; and there is more on the Holy Spirit as salt and fire for offerings to GOD.  The “Yahoo! 7 Answers (Australia)” writer using ID “Lucis” (Level 4 with 2,583 points, a member since 15 June 2013) posted the following that was originally asked on “Yahoo! Does Jesus have a halo?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Salted With Fire?  (09/24/2013)—In the context of the full paragraph for Mark 9:  49 (see Mark 9: 38-50, KJV), every believer offered to GOD as a sacrifice from the earth through Jesus Christ as High Priest is to be “salted”, endowed with the imparted, indwelling Spirit of Christ, the Holy Ghost.  Saying this another way, believers must be embraced through more than simply water baptism.  Each must also experience a baptism of fire.  John the Baptist preached more than simply repentance through water baptism; there also would be fire baptism.  John acknowledged that the baptism he brought was simple, and that the Messiah he was herald to would bring a new level of spirit endowment.  Surely, that is the Lord’s work in every believer, today, to bring a higher level of spirit endowment.  See Matthew 3:  10-11, John 1:  29-34, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.  (Colossians 1:  12-20, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Jesus, A Party Animal? (05/03/2013); Jesus Lives! (05/04/2013); Before Abraham Was… (03/14/2013); On Titles and Respect (03/15/2013); A Man in Heaven? (09/03/2012); Aliens? (09/04/2012)

Lucis, here are a few points that have helped many Christian believers understand the divine operation of Incarnation, and how Jesus could appear as both human and divine:

(1.)  Creative artists who use visual media (e.g., drawings, icons, mosaics, paintings, and tapestries) often depict Jesus as having a halo or nimbus (tiny clouds) above or surrounding his head.  The holy writings indicate that Jesus was ordinary in his physical appearance, did not have features that singled him out as good-looking or handsome, and would be described today as “commonplace”.  Jesus could not be easily distinguished from his apostles.  For this reason, the kiss of betrayal was chosen to identify Jesus at his arrest.  Only someone who knew him intimately, could recognize him in the dark of night, and could approach him without being challenged would be fit to certify the correct man had been taken.

(2.)  There are many teachings within the Bible that suggest obedient believers will have inner peace and therefore display a sublime light about their countenance.  Included are the incident when Moses came down from Mount Sinai after many days and nights in the presence of GOD.  The prophet’s face gave off a peculiar light (we say, shone), and beamed reflecting divine glory.  The people were frightened by this so much that, for a time, Moses had to wear a veil over his face whenever he left the Tabernacle, and walked among the people.  Similarly, when the 120 men and women tarrying together as disciples of Jesus received the sacred gifts promised from GOD at Pentecost, the divine presence appeared as tongues of fire upon each person’s head.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  In the account of a woman being healed by touching the hem of the Savior’s garment, believers learn that Jesus accomplished miracles of exorcism and healing through the imparting of virtue that resided within himself.  From the time of his public baptism, Jesus was anointed, consecrated, ordained, and full of the Holy Spirit.  Believers proclaim Jesus the image of the invisible GOD, the firstborn of every creature, and one in whom the fullness of the Father dwells.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/24/2013) Salted with Fire?

The uses of fire and salt when making sacrifices offered to GOD is a focus, today; and there is more on sin, atonement and salvation seen in the figure of Moses.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers UK and Ireland” using the ID “Lucis” (Level 4 with 2615 points, a member since 14 June 2013) posted the following:

Christians, explain "every one shall be salted with fire"?

Does this mean every Christian will go purgatory? Mark 9:49

THE BATTLE AXE:  Moses Killed? (09/23/2013)—  (6.)  While Moses was condemned as guilty by the sacred law that he would later be given because he had committed murder, Moses was received by GOD as if already having made atonement, because his inner spirit was meek, obedient, and pliable before GOD.  Through Moses, Christian believers further understand that salvation in Jesus Christ is by divine grace, and the imparting and indwelling of sacred substance from the person of GOD.  The Comforter (we also say, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, Spirit of Prophecy, Spirit of Truth) transforms ones inner content.  Inseparable aspects of divinity are bestowed including faith, holiness, humility, incorruption, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  In baptism, a believer is reborn having divine DNA, so to speak, and develops as one experiencing Christ from within.  This permits us to say, that spirit content and sacred substance are as vital to salvation as confession, repentance, blood sacrifice, and displays through physical actions, behavior, deeds, and good works.  See Leviticus 4:  22-26, Numbers 12:  3, Numbers 11:  16-17, Psalms 25:  9, Matthew 9:  13, Romans 3:  20 and 28, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the LORD:  but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.  And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering:  with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.  And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.  (Leviticus 2:  12-14, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Prophetic Demonstrations (09/06/2013); Why GOD Prayed to GOD (09/07/2013); The Bible and Stupid People (07/17/2013); The Need to Purify Heaven (01/17/2013); Purchased With Blood? (12/29/2012); The Law Not Flawed (12/30/2012)

“Lucis”, your question is about purgatory; however, here are some points I’d like you to consider about the salting of sacrifices that became clear through years of prayer and study of the holy writings.  In the same way every Christian will not be familiar with what I am about to share with you here (because we are on different levels of knowledge, maturity, understanding and zeal), every Christian does not endorse the teachings on purgatory:

(1.)  Just as today, in Bible times salt was used to flavor foods and enhance their taste.  However, also, salt could be used as currency (money); a medicine to control bleeding, or to clean and close wounds; and as a preservative to keep foods without ice and refrigeration.  Salt was a part of ones daily diet; and shared “eating of salt” was used to show welcome and hospitality.  Contracts and covenant agreements were made binding and official through the eating of salt and formal meals.  Salt also was used as a poison; and the fields would be sown with salt to utterly destroy an enemy’s ability to recover from the losses of war by planting their ground for food and cash crops.

(2.)  The priesthood, tabernacle, and services provided to the tribes of Jacob through Moses were patterned after the things in heaven as was the priesthood granted to Adam and to Abraham.  While sin was first discovered among the holy angels, animal sacrifices that transferred the aspect of life (blood) were first established upon the earth to demonstrate that a divine life essence must be provided to remove sin from the Sanctuary of GOD in both heaven and earth.

(3.)  Throughout the Scriptures burning and fire usually signifies cleansing, purging, and judgment.  Only operations performed by the Spirit of GOD accomplish expiation (punishment and sufferings that identify the presence of sin; restoration of relationship and trust after violations through sin).  Therefore, destruction of the defiled life essence is portrayed, and the sacrifice and use of blood are required for atonement.  In sacrifice, the otherwise common offering is made holy by contact with a consecrated altar—a holy table serving as a point of contact between heaven and earth.  Fire from GOD (and some would say, the blood of the Lamb) must come down to take up our gifts to GOD.  Sins placed upon the sacrifice are completely destroyed, while praise, thanksgivings and reverence are released, and lifted up as if a sweet aroma.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  These ideas should help as a beginning.  Some Scriptures for your study include Genesis 15:  7-18, Leviticus 2:  13, Mark 9:  50, Colossians 4:  6, and Isaiah 4:  4, KJV.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/23/2013) Moses Killed?

Moses, and the transformation through divine grace that makes possible a sinners use in sacred service are topics, today.  Also, there is more on evil created by GOD.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Wade” (Level 2 with 902 points, a member since August 2012) posted the following:

Moses killed a guy and God asked him if he wanted a job? hey! that still happens today!?

guy at work gets a dwi and now he is doing driver evaluations!

THE BATTLE AXE:  Evil is not Sin? (09/22/2013)—(4.)  “Sin” (also called “corruption”) pertains to self-generating influences that may dominate the will in created beings and living creatures.  Sin is not an independently existing material or spirit substance; does not describe forces and operations in nature (e.g., appetite; earthquakes; eclipses; gravity; wild fires; wind chill); and has not been created or put forth by GOD.  Yet, sin has direction, effect and presence that, without devices provided by GOD, are impossible to detect, eliminate, foresee, and resist.  Atonement, covenants, divine law, anointed leadership, the priesthood, and a fresh endowment of the imparted, indwelling Spirit have been given by GOD through the ministry of Jesus Christ to counteract sin.  Sin opposes the continued existence of GOD, of divine law, and of all that GOD has created.  (5.)  “Wickedness” (often mistakenly called “evil” and “sin”) pertains to specific patterns in the intent, purposes, and unseen thoughts of the living that generate behavior and conduct that are defiant, destructive, rebellious, self-promoting, and self-serving.  Wickedness is the lack of godliness within the content of their nature for created beings and living creatures.  Correctly understood, wickedness is only removed through divine evil, rebirth, or death and resurrection.  (6.)  “Sufferings” are otherwise “normal” experiences of the human condition exaggerated and extended in such a way that the limits of ones endurance are challenged.  Included are a broad array of emotional, mental, physical, social and spiritual events.  Examples are pressures that appear as anxiety, envy, fear, financial loss, hunger, illness, incompatibility, pain, political oppression, separation, and stress.  In the world (i.e., outside of the church and holy writings), “evil” is a label for continuing and repeated “bad luck,” misfortune, suffering, tragedy, trouble, unpleasantness, and ugliness.  Examples of divine evil often serve in judgment as what are called “plagues”, and as what believers call “miracles”.  Thus, evil appears in the accounts of Moses and the rebellion of Korah, Samuel calling forth a storm out of season, and Jesus calming the tempest.  See Numbers 16:  1-33, 1st Samuel 12:  16-18 and Mark 4:  35-41, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.  And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door:  and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.  And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.  And he turned again into the camp:  but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.  And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.  Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight:  and consider that this nation is thy people.  And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.  And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.  For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.  And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken:  for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.  And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.  And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.  (Exodus 33:  9-19, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  GOD Grants License? (06/21/2013); Origin of Baptism? (06/22/2013); “Authorized Personnel Only” (03/13/2013); Before Abraham Was… (03/14/2013); By Grace (09/04/2012); Yet If I Judge (09/05/2012)

THE BATTLE CRY:  “I Need You To Survive” is simple and consists in only some eight sentences.  Even so, this selection is a powerful and rich example of contemporary gospel music that properly ministers the Spirit of Prophesy.  This piece speaks from and to GOD, from the pastor and leaders of the assembly to the congregation as well as from and to each other as members of the worship community.  Hezekiah Walker & the Love Fellowship Choir (LFC) have voiced one of the most necessary commitments for members of any congregation within the church of Jesus Christ.  Readers are encouraged to hear this selection available from the album “The Essential Hezekiah Walker” as an MP3, and on video at YouTube.com.

Wade, here are few points Christian believers frequently use to keep their balance and correct focus upon GOD in the face of conflicting truths, contradictions, and opposing ideas from the holy writings as well as from criticisms, errors and malice from nonbelievers:

(1.)  The “hard part” when reading the Scriptures is that there are many subtleties (i.e., barely visible differences, unseen aspects) that must be discovered and realized through active exchange and fellowship with other believers, through private prayer, through practice of sacraments and unselfish service, and through thoughtful examination of various documents throughout the entire collection of sacred documents.

(2.)  Often, when considering the Scriptures, a believer’s focus should not be upon human behavior and conduct.  One must engage the revelation of GOD, that is, dwell upon what the Almighty is displaying and showing through the use of human events.  Readers are given an experience of the “divine point of view” wherein thousands of years and thousands of lives unveil patterns describing the nature of life, death, divinity, and all existence.

(3.)  The enormity and horror of Moses’ crime (the sin of Cain) is essential to created beings and living creatures being able to “see” the enormity of divine commitment to Creation.  More than simply the errors of harming another person, then fleeing judgment and justice, Moses also commits presumption (i.e., exercises authority without permission; we say, takes what belongs to another, steals) as if properly ordained to know and do the will of GOD.  GOD is to be understood as a spirit, a living essence that is not material; that uses form having dimension, yet, cannot be measured or weighed; and that functions in patterned ways that may be known through sacred actions and events.  Included are reproduction, birth, death, baptism, covenant, rebirth, repentance, judgment, redemption, salvation, and sanctification.

(4.)  At Creation, human potential included a capacity to develop and express life according to various natures (e.g., animal, human and divine).  Once sin introduced corruption to human awareness of GOD and to exercise of human self-will, the grace of GOD became increasingly visible as an essential aspect of divine person that operates against the continuous destruction that has been initiated.  By grace, through faith, men now receive a fresh endowment of divine being imparted as an indwelling spirit.  Included are the inseparable aspects of GOD we call faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, love, truthfulness, wisdom and wrath against sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (5.)  GOD proclaimed and revealed himself to Moses as one sovereign, who uses judgment to make the divine nature known as well as to transform the content and substance of humanity, and all things made.  Through demonstrations that only become clear by the ministry of Jesus Christ upon the earth and from the heavens, the truth unveiled before Moses and all the many prophets who followed is that many from mankind are to become immortal and incorruptible, while those having lost all divine content must be completely destroyed.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/22/2013) Evil is not Sin?

Focus, today, is upon a Scripture that identifies GOD as the creator of “evil.”  Also, there is more on what it means to “come” to Christ.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Speculum” (Level 2 with 946 points, joined January 20, 2010) posted the following:

Why did God create evil?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.

THE BATTLE AXE:  His Burden Is Light? (09/21/2013)—To come to Christ is to acknowledge the authority, power and sovereignty of GOD; to confess having the needs of all created beings and living creatures that can only be met through the operations of GOD; to humble oneself and voluntarily cooperate as GOD alters and changes their make-up and inner substance; and to respond to life events as a new creation of GOD having awareness of divine operations, sacramental practices, sacred processes, and eternal purposes.  To lay ones burden down and to receive rest is to experience divine release from such material and social entanglements as addiction, anger, anxiety, bereavement, covetousness, disease, desire, fear, guilt, ignorance, loneliness, lust, pride, shame, worry, and uncertainty.  The call and invitation of Christ is to access GOD and to be in intimate relationship to the Almighty through the shared life, death, inheritance, priesthood, unselfish service, and work of Jesus.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Brethren, be not children in understanding:  howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.  In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.  Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:  but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.  If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?  But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation.  Let all things be done unto edifying.  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  (1st Corinthians 14:  20-33, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  All Things Possible? (09/17/2013); Can One Escape? (09/18/2013); Blessings, Curses and Woes (10/03/2012); After We Die? (10/04/2012); Sin Without Wrongdoing (08/28/2012); On Religious Items (08/29/2012)

Speculum, here are some important points of understanding mature Christian believers rely upon when responding to Isaiah 45:  7, KJV:

(1.)  In the language of the holy writings, “evil” is not “sin”, and “evil” is not “wickedness”.  When speaking of that which is put forth by GOD, “evil” is to be understood as sudden and widespread change, and therefore may include calamity, catastrophe, disaster, and upheaval.  Unplanned change and change for novelty (we say, merely for the sake of change) are regarded as change that is directly contrary to divine order, and in opposition to sacred purpose (i.e., “chaos” and “confusion”).

(2.)  The revelation of GOD to mankind has been through sacred events as well as divine utterance.  The Word that reveals GOD (the spirit) has appeared as person, praise, prayer, proclamation, promise, and prophecy.  In the same way GOD proclaimed his name to Moses, revealing the divine deeds whereby he is to be known and spoken of, the holy writings provide record of GOD’s proclamation through the Prophet Isaiah.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  There is great danger of accelerating spiritual confusion and corruption when a reader assumes the Scriptures may be read and understood without the peculiar awareness that comes by the Spirit from GOD.  A single verse out of context can never provide an accurate and complete declaration of the divine nature.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/21/2013) His Burden Is Light?

What it means to “come” or “go” to Christ is considered, today.  Also, there is more on making statements that conform to Bible truth.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Janett” (Level 2 with 511 points, a member since August 4, 2011) posted the following:

Question about Mathew 11:28 "Come to Me"?

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

What does that mean and how does one "Go" to Him and "leave our burden?"

THE BATTLE AXE:  According to This Word (09/20/2013)—(5.)  Believers understand that many of the truths recorded in the holy writings, and attributed to Moses, may have been collected from oral traditions, and the priestly inheritance of families and tribes.  It is an aspect of our faith and spirit content from GOD, that this work was directed and overseen by the Holy Spirit.  Similarly, New Testament statements and quotations attributed to Jesus and others are affirmed through the witness of the Holy Spirit (we also say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Prophecy).  Through the endowment of their own imparted, indwelling Spirit from Jesus, believers all may make assertions and descriptions of divine intent, pre-existence and heaven, for this is what it means to prophesy, and speak the word.  More than this, through ones own spirit content, the sacred truth and value of all things are to be discerned, acknowledged, and correctly applied.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.  (Hebrews 9:  11-15, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  All Things Possible? (09/17/2013); Can One Escape? (09/18/2013); Gentiles and the Law? (09/19/2013); His Burden is Light? (12/10/2012); Knowing Who Your Real Friends Are (12/11/2012); How Was GOD Known Before Jesus? (10/06/2012); Jesus, King of Earth? (10/07/2012); Son of Man (11/28/2012); Given the Cloud of Witnesses (11/29/2012)

Janett, here are some points to consider that are often shared among Christian believers, that I trust will further nourish your inner spirit:

(1.)  To “come to Christ” is to accept the divinely supplied invitation to have a closer and more intimate relationship with GOD.  While GOD is a spirit, and does not have form, or physical substance, GOD may nonetheless be known and understood as alive, real, and present among created beings and living creatures upon the earth.  In the same way we know the presence of the wind by its effect upon the trees, a kite, the clouds, believers are taught to discern and recognize when GOD is using the things of our life experience (for example, birth, family, marriage, friendship, death and divorce).

(2.)  The make-up and substance of GOD is divinity that may be described as sacred content.  Included are inseparable aspects of divine being that include faith, holiness, love, longsuffering, truthfulness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  In baptism, believers receive these substances, and are spoken of as born again from divine DNA, so to speak.

(3.)  Many experience life as being full of darkness, fear, rottenness and violence.  By acknowledging Christ as an appearance of GOD in human form for the benefit of all Creation, a person may begin to experience a new awareness of human possibilities.  Their ideas about GOD must be changed in accordance with the things on record (the holy writings), wherein GOD has revealed himself to mankind using human events over the course of thousands of years, and thousands of lives.  There must be a transformation of the believer requiring multiple divine operations that may only be completed through the action of GOD.  It is in this sense that a believer rests relying upon GOD (we say, trusting divine grace).

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (4.)  Our carnal, material and social realties generate the human need for a mediator to reconnect us with the Creator.  Believers may speak to Jesus, just as to another living person, until they are correctly built up to speak directly to GOD in prayer through praise, through practice of various sacraments, through thanks giving, and through prophetic utterance.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Love has spoken.

(09/20/2013) According to This Word

Today, I share some thoughts (below) about the importance of using Scripture references in my blog presentations.  In addition, there is more on Gentiles and the law.  By now my regular readers may realize that I deliberately omit citations of Bible verses and passages within my daily response, yet, share them in the BATTLE AXE and GOLDEN ARROW sections.  This device allows me to encourage exercise of discernment by my readers as well as to provide balance, readability, and a peculiar level of simplicity for the daily response.

THE BATTLE AXE:  (09/19/2013) Gentiles and the Law?—In the Bible’s earliest uses of the word “Gentiles” (for example, see Judges 4, KJV), those occupying Canaan in covenant to GOD are described—the people who were selected before the tribes of Jacob.  Later, where Isaiah proclaims and prophesies salvation through “a root of Jesse,” Christian believers understand that, first, David and later Jesus Christ would appear to establish divine operations in the earth to properly recover and transform the Gentiles as covenant partners and servants to GOD (e.g., see Isaiah 42:  6 and 49:  6, KJV).  Therefore, the mixed multitude that left Egypt along with Moses may be seen as a remnant, or a seed of planting, in a recurring work of redemption and salvation.  See Romans 3:  21-31, Romans 15:  7-12, Revelation 7:  1-17 and Revelation 22:  14-15, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  To the law and to the testimony:  if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.  (Isaiah 8:  20, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Missing Information? (06/12/2013); Errors of King Solomon? (06/13/2013); Scriptures and Sayings? (06/09/2013); The End of Pain? (06/10/2013); Words Spoken By GOD? (06/05/2013); Teachings on Judgment (06/06/2013); What to Take Literally (03/11/2013); A GOD of War? (03/12/2013)

(1.)  Rightly understood, our reading of the Scriptures is not merely for factual and literal statements describing celestial scenes, spiritual events, and eternal operations.  Believers are to discover and discern doctrine, guidelines, precepts, and principles that affirm the active presence of divine spirit.  Detailed knowledge of pre-existence is not provided through the holy writings so much as through the imparted, indwelling spirit of the Lord.  See Genesis 2:  17, John 13:  7, John 16:  12 and John 16:  12-14, King James Version.

(2.)  Many believers rely upon being able to quote chapter and verse as a demonstration that they are approved of GOD.  However, even Satan has demonstrated such mastery when challenging Jesus (see Matthew 4:  1-11, KJV).  Be not deceived:  Salvation through Jesus Christ is not a matter of how much Scripture we may know and repeat to others.  There will always be an immense treasury of divine truth that remains inaccessible, unseen, and untapped (see Deuteronomy 29:  29, Acts 1:  6-7 and Revelation 10:  4, KJV).

(3.)  As beginning believers, we must stick to the “sincere milk of the word,” and are not ready for “strong meat.”  Later, however, we should demonstrate adult understandings for the many truths of GOD.  Thus, for example, there is no single Scripture stating the tables of stone given to Moses were an incarnation or material appearance of the Word, and of the glory of GOD.  Even so, believers do not err where they discern and recognize the spiritual truth that the tables of law, written with the finger of GOD, are put forth as an “offspring” of GOD, and are an appearance of Christ.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (4.)  Human believing and knowing are acts and works that express desire, intent and self-will.  However, these can not accomplish the divine works of rebirth, redemption, and salvation that must occur through grace and faith (see Ephesians 2:  8-9, James 2:  19 and James 3:  13-18, KJV).)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Love has spoken.

(09/19/2013) Gentiles and the Law?

The covenant of Moses and the new covenant in Jesus Christ, and use of the word “law” are topics, today.  Also, there is more on escape, life and suffering.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Following Torah And Messiah” (Level 4 with 3,246 points, a member since November 13, 2011) posted the following:

"The law means so much to me that I want my chosen people to keep it, but..."?

"...One day I will send my son to die so that the gentiles don't have to do any of it"

Does this sound like something Our God would say?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Can One Escape? (09/18/2013)— (4.)  The living absolutely cannot escape the full range of challenges, disappointments, duties, losses, and triumphs that together are called “the ups and downs of life.”  Because many now rely upon complaining (to get attention; dispel fear; make connection to others, even strangers; or manipulate and have advantage), what many call “sufferings” are merely the normal tasks for life in the earth.  For example, many complain daily against attending school; decease (i.e., completing ones mortality); having to correct their own mistakes; hearing, responding to, and speaking truth; and paying those who provide service, or share their resources.  Believers in Christ accept suffering as a sacred mechanism whereby those in carnal, material and social reality are used to accomplish divine purpose, demonstrate the operations of divine substance, and make visible the active presence of GOD.  (5.)  At Creation, the experience of human life was to be a balanced blend of learning, fellowship, work, and rest.  Acknowledgment of GOD through voluntary praise and worship that would express such inner states as gratitude, joy, love, respect, and trust became mandatory when division and separation increased through sin.  Formative judgment (i.e., assessment and measurement when building, creating and planning) then took on a new character as investigation and scrutiny to detect the presence of divinity, or any hidden material that is not from GOD.  (6.)  Many of the tests and trials mankind now faces are for purposes of edification, instruction, and revelation.  Each person must discover and come to know their own capacity for action, commitment, integrity, strength, and truth for these are the aspects of humanity that must be present for interaction and relationship with the Creator.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, believers receive a fresh endowment from the divine person that includes such spirit content as faith, holiness, righteousness, truthfulness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Together, these make it that none appear “empty” before GOD.  See 1st Corinthians 10:  13, Hebrews 2:  1-4 and 1st Peter 4:  12-19, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident:  for, The just shall live by faith.  And the law is not of faith:  but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.  Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.  He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.  And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.  For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.  Wherefore then serveth the law?  It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.  (Galatians 3:  10-19, KJV)

“Following Torah And Messiah”, here are a few points to consider that should be useful to avoid spiritual confusion:

(1.)  The holy writings often use the word “law” speaking strictly about the covenant of Moses.  Similarly, modern speakers say “the “law” referring to the Decalogue, the Ten Commandments.  At other points, the Scriptures speak to the divine law that was in place before Creation, and that may be spoken of as eternal.  There are many uses of “law” regarding the ordinances, outcomes of judgment (we might say, precedents), and statutes instituted for the Jews.

(2.)  Careful study of the Scriptures demand that each appearance of the word “law” be examined for its peculiar application and meaning for the passage wherein it appears.  In New Testament writings, the word “law” may appear within the same paragraph multiple times, and its meaning may be changed from use to use.  For example, see Romans 3:  19-23, King James Version.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  For example, (3.)  Those who left Egypt with Moses, and stood with him and Aaron at the foot of Mount Sinai hearing the voice of GOD proclaim the covenant and the law, were a “mixed multitude.”  At no time was the law only intended exclusively for the tribes of Jacob.  Repeatedly, the Jews did not fully uphold the law (e.g., failure to expel the seven nations occupying the Promised Land; idolatry through the wives of Solomon; schism and the golden calf of Jeroboam, son of Nebat).  Therefore, many believed the promised administration of the Messiah would end what now is being called “the curse of the law.”  The Gentiles embracing the righteousness of the law in the person of Jesus Christ are being used as a divine device to recover and restore the remnant of Israel.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Love has spoken.
