(12/06/2015) Enduring As A Believer?

Today, prophecy (i.e., comfort, edification, exhortation) is shared for those who may feel they are losing as they fight the “good fight of faith.”  Christian believers all begin not having a full knowledge of the process of GOD.  Many once leaned upon expectations that come from child-like ideas, multiple common sense notions, and their “gut instincts” (e.g., that GOD has divine power; knows all, sees all; can control all your enemies; can not be hurt or killed; has supremacy; and has wealth).  Following baptism (death of ones inborn spirit; rebirth having divine DNA, so to speak), the “born again” disciples of Jesus must learn, grow, and mature.  Only by effort and hard work does one successfully apply their new values, answer to fellowship with experienced believers, continue sacred practices, and maintain study of the holy writings.  The believer must become firm as a member within a body and setting that supports their new development before they actually experience the most fulfilling relationship with Christ.  Consider the following from the Bible, and the presentation that appears below:  Hebrews 6:  10-11, King James Version (KJV):  10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.  11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:  Also, 1st Corinthians 15:  58, KJV:  58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.  James 1:  12, KJV:  12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation:  for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  James 5:  11, KJV:  11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.  Prisca Kohtem who participates with me in THE BIBLE STUDY GROUP (a Public Group on Facebook presently having 21,453 members), invited response by sharing a personal appeal that included the following on December 3, 2015 at 4:  33 pm:

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.  But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;  Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.  (Matthew 13:  18-23, KJV)

Prisca Kohtem, be encouraged!  Most of us become disappointed, frustrated, and upset by the process of GOD.  Your predicament of enduring as a believer is spoken of in The Book of Job.  The process of GOD for us is one of growth, longsuffering, patience, and waiting.  Where we desire physical action and material gifts, we often are granted counsel, instruction, or truth, instead.  Believers are being permanently changed through gradual operations by the Spirit.  The only way to get patience is to wait for it; the only way to gain trust is to give it.  Saying this another way:  Those born again must mature again.  Consider again the following:

(1.)  2nd Corinthians 4:  6-11, King James Version (KJV):  6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.  8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;  10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.  11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

(2.)  Job 3:  23-26, KJV:  23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?  24 For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.  25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.  26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

(3.)  Job 4:  3-8, KJV:  3 Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.  4 Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.  5 But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.  6 Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?  7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?  8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

The solution granted to Job is found in (4.)  Job 42:  10-13, KJV:  10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends:  also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.  11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him:  every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.  12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.  13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.

There are many other verses that should be carefully considered, correctly understood, and spiritually received as a divine word of comfort from the Father.  (For example, (5.)  1st Peter 5:  8-11, KJV:  8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.  10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.  11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
