(11/07/2016) On Expecting Quick Results

Jan van Eyck diptych (circa 1430) Crucifixion; the Last Judgment

Today, focus is on change, patience, divine response to needs of the living, and sacred process as deliberate and extended.  Many only turn to divinity because they experience intense needs for comfort, healing, prosperity, and permanent relief from suffering.  However, it is the character and nature of divinity that, in fact, dictates the course of divine response.  With this in view, there can be no “quick fix” or “slap dash” from GOD.  Because it is always in accordance with prophecy and revealed truth, the divine process may be regarded as disciplined, inevitable, methodical, and predictable.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Christians - Do you agree that repentance can be a protracted process, but some people expect quick results to get it off their chest...?
...Without realising just how seriously they have sinned against God.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come:  and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:  and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.  Here is the patience of the saints:  here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.  (Revelation 14:  6-12, King James Version, KJV)

“Political Commentator”, repentance is a process carried out by will of the Creator, not that of the created.  Only as sinners are “born again” do they acquire proper expectations for eternal life.  GOD responds to the living on the basis of aspects of full divinity and sacred purpose, rather than the mundane events, personalities, and problems that are boundaries and conditions within their sphere of life.  Finite created beings and living creatures, who rely upon the frameworks of time and space to order, and give structure to the data and information coming to them as life experience, must be permanently changed through fresh deposits of spirit content from GOD that allow correct and more complete grasp of the operations by spirit, divine utterance, and sacred word that eventually will appear in ones lifestyle and practice as rebirth, redemption, repentance, salvation, and sanctification.  Human intellect, logic, philosophy, or reason will focus upon the awesomeness, omnipotence, omniscience, and oneness of GOD, failing to take into account also the immortality, immutability, and incorruption of Deity.  The character, makeup, and nature of divine spirit must be described as active, diffuse, organic, unbounded, yet, also constant, continuous, directed, enduring, and purposeful.  The sacred events (we say, miracles) that appear to be instantaneous and sudden usually follow long periods of gradual development, growth, patient expectation, or even, affliction, chastisement, and suffering.  Reacting to carnal, material and social pressures, the flesh is not in accord with divinity.  Unseen elements have influence such as appetite, covetousness, emotion, mind, and sensation.  The demand and prayers for quick responses from GOD are not ignored and unheard; however, divine answers must acknowledge divine order, sacred law, and unambiguous Spirit process.  Consider again the following points from the Bible:
(1.)  Jeremiah 42:  4-8, King James Version (KJV):  4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.  5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.  6 Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.  7 And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.  8 Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
(2.)  Daniel 10:  12-14, KJV:  12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel:  for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.  13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days:  but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.  14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days:  for yet the vision is for many days.
(3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(4.)  2nd Peter 3:  8-10, KJV:  8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended, here.  (For example, (5.)  Hebrews 10:  35-37, KJV:  35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.  36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.  37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
