(09/14/2016) The Bible and Salvation

Whether or not sinners may gain salvation without reading the Scriptures is the topic, today.  The holy writings are as excellent as every other spiritual gift from divinity (e.g., apostles, discernment, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, rebirth, repentance, tongues) because they are not simply about GOD, they are by and from GOD.  Correctly understood, the holy writings are a device GOD uses to impart spirit substance to the living.  Operations carried out by the Spirit of GOD serve in a sacred process of revelation whereby the character, nature, eternal purpose, and substance of divinity are made knowable and known to created beings and living creatures.  Mature Christian believers usually agree that the Bible is a divine tool to be taken seriously by every repentant sinner, for the Scriptures document the active presence of divinity upon the earth and within the heaven using thousands of events within thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years.  Specifically, the full gospel of Jesus Christ is presented there along with much of the sacred knowledge required to maintain ones lifestyle as a new creation through the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior.  One of the fighters at “Yahoo! Is it true you can never enter the Kingdom of Heaven if you've never read The Bible?
Most people don't even read the Bible and most people are going to hell
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.  Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:  (2nd Peter 1:  2-10, King James Version, KJV)

“Anonymous”, every sinner is called (recruited) to do their own part within a full work from GOD.  Christian believers are to accept the holy writings as an authoritative source for correct sacred knowledge appearing through such features as divine commandments, examples from life experience, required expectations (we say, hope), guidance, instruction, terms for covenant relationship, divine law, official proclamations from divinity, promises, and prophecy in the form of comfort, demonstrations, edification, and exhortation.  The Scriptures serve as the framework for sacred structure within the life of a believer, and are to convey and impart spirit content from the makeup of GOD.  Included are awe (we say, fear of the Lord, reverence), faith, holiness, humility, divine love, longsuffering, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  With this in view, the Scriptures are an appearance of GOD using physical form (i.e., incarnation).  Through disciplined and regular study of the Scriptures, believers are to develop discernment (i.e., the ability to apply ones own spirit content from GOD to recognize and respond to the same spirit content as it appears in events, oneself, other persons, messages and statements, etc.).  Even so, salvation does not result by our simply reading a book.  Consider again the following:
(1.)  1st Corinthians 13:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.  3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
(2.)  Ephesians 2:  8-10, KJV:  8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.  10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
(3.)  Matthew 7:  21-23, KJV:  21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:  depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
There is far more to be said, carefully examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  1st Peter 2:  1-5, KJV:  1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,  5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
