(05/31/2015) Can The Bible Be Increased?

Today, points are shared on expanding the Bible to include sacred events and teachings since the time of the Apostles.  The writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Denis” (Level 1 with points not shown, a member since July 25, 2013) posted the following:

Will more material ever be added to the Holy Bible?

It has been nearly two millennia since the last books of the New Testament were written and a lot has happened since then. The Christian church has seen countless amounts of apparitions, martyrdoms, sainthoods, and almost everything in between. Surely, if Mother Mary did appear to the three children at Fatima, such records should be infixed into the bible, perhaps as part of an appendix? What do you think?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:  but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  (2nd Peter 1:  16-21, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Those Who Read? (02/17/2015); The Scriptures and Perfection? (10/27/2014); Catholics, Protestants and the Trinity? (10/12/2014); The Gift of Life Despised? (10/13/2014); Points on Bible Study (06/28/2014); The Nature of Scripture (03/27/2014); Divine Sleep (03/28/2014); Why Not One Bible? (11/02/2013); Why Jesus Used Parables (11/03/2013)

“Denis”, the Bible is a fixed collection and library of holy writings that only may be clarified, commented upon, read, respected, shared, or exhaustively and prayerfully studied.  Here are some of the responses within the Bible that should be relied upon by the followers of Jesus Christ:

(1.)  Deuteronomy 4:  1-2, King James Version (KJV):  1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.  2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(2.)  Proverbs 30:  5-6, KJV:  5 Every word of God is pure:  he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.  6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

(3.)  Revelation 1:  1-3, KJV:  1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:  2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.  3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein:  for the time is at hand.

(4.)  John 20:  30-31, KJV:  30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:  31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually taken into account.  (For example, (5.)  Revelation 22:  17-19, KJV:  17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith and spiritual maturity.
