(01/30/2015) Conflict Because of Religious Belief?

Human nature and the final outcome for conflicts and disputes based upon religion are the focus, today.  Because the origin of many differences in the earth should be understood as the inner spirit content that resides within created beings and living creatures, the resolution of certain conflicts can only come by operations of divinity, and through divine law.  A writer at “Yahoo! Where, precisely, do you think all the wrath, hatred, and bitterness towards religion, faith, and spirituality ultimately heading to?

Since the internet began, knowledge of spirituality, religion, and faith has been spreading deep understandings of the lessons they teach, along with the importance of love. It has been a source of direction, strength, and hope for generations, and is proving to be the same for this generation too. Even researchers admit that it is a part of human nature, which will continue.

On the other hand, some people who have argued against the study of spirituality, religion, and faith (often from the fallacious position of personal incredulity, which is not understanding it, or misunderstanding it), have gone beyond disagreement, and fortify positions of bitterness, wrath and hatred towards those who seek the deep lessons of spirituality, religions, and faith. Often, when you try to determine why this is, it stems from a petty or biased understanding of things.

We have seen what extreme measures the bitter, negative, and hateful ideals can lead to, as they dominated the headlines of the 20th century. But despite this, people still continue growing hatred, bitterness, and wrath towards spirituality, faith, and religion.

Where is this heading? Another genocide? What is its ultimate end game?

Why not love one another and work towards harmony?

*P.S.: Please answer the question without trying to avoid the main theme, or divert it. Yes, people can disagree, but this is not about disagreements, but people who take it beyond disagreement into bitterness, hatred, and wrath.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.  Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years:  therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.  Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.  Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.  In thee have they set light by father and mother:  in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger:  in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.  Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.  In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood:  and in thee they eat upon the mountains:  in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.  In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness:  in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.  And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.  In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.  Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.  Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.  (Ezekiel 22:  4-24, KJV)

“Flowerchild”, many share your concern for the future along with dismay and shock that religious beliefs, today, all appear to be generating condemnation of others, conflict, irreconcilable divisions, and unjustified violence.  Even so, here are a few points regularly shared among Christian believers that continue balance, focus, and peace of mind:

(1.)  Given that anger, fear, hatred and bitterness are made up of emotional and intellectual substance, these conditions and states are temporal (we say, they come and they go).  As operations of the flesh (appetite such as hunger, thirst, sexual cravings; sensation such as hearing, seeing, tasting, touching; emotional/mental functions such as desire, imagination, recall), emotions and mental functions have great influence and power upon awareness and self-will.

(2.)  Presently, where individuals or groups pursue such motives as reprisal, retribution and revenge they are often persistent, relentless and uncompromising.  Yet, as the alternative to destruction, genocide and warfare to eliminate opposition, the primary responses to accomplish change and reconciliation tend to be emotional and practical appeals that are inappropriate and irrelevant.

(3.)  The full framework of Christian belief describes the course of human development and transformation focusing upon the divine spirit content within mankind, the peculiar purposes of divinity, and the multiple sacred events and operations that are being carried out to establish a permanent harmony and peace for all who will live within the active presence of Deity.  Thus, themes of atonement, forgiveness, death, judgment, rebirth, spirit growth, and sanctification must come into view.

(4.)  Current conflicts have been “foretold” and prophesied, however, not in terms of their specific details.  Believers are not to become emotional and fearful, distraught, or confused.  Present day events are affirmations and evidence of their faith being valid.  Yet, for our faith to also be fruitful and productive, we are to continue our positive efforts to build a world that is godly, righteous and divinely beautiful.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  As surely as diverse cultures maintain distinctive behaviors, language and approaches to life experience, we are not correct to think that all systems of religious belief are directed to the same goals, must employ the same means, and can accomplish the very same objectives.  There remain many who seek to thrive upon the sufferings of others.  Christians are encouraged to trust that the peace sought by honest-hearted men and women throughout the world definitely will be supplied on the basis of divine purpose and the grace of our Creator.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of your faith.
