Focus, today, is upon definition, judgment, sacred logic, and the concept of “good” in various belief systems. A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Joe” (Level 1 with 3 points, a member since October 14, 2014) posted the following:
Why isnt being good enough for heaven?
All religions teach you to be good. Yet also always have a second requirement: believe in a religion. Islams requires you to be goood and believe in Allah and Muhammad. Christians believe you need to be good and belive in Jesus. But according to Christians and Muslims, if you are a fantastic person, but you dont believe, nothing is saving you. What kind of dumb logic is this?

“Joe”, here are a few points to consider that are in line with sacred logic among Christians, rather than finite carnal logic:
(1.) Just as in your presentation above, the meaning for “good” is often assumed to be “understood”, is left unstated, and is left undefined. The major belief systems established to provide clarity, focus and moral guidance for human thought and action all supply a broad statement for understanding the concept of “good” that is exact and specific within its own boundaries, and closed limits. Thus, it may be said that “good” is no single thing that exists; and, only GOD is good.
(2.) Without an agreed upon and shared meaning, “good” must remain an idea that is diffuse, unstable, and unfocused. Meaning will vary from person to person, culture to culture, event to event. As a construct for human communication “good” suggests a dimension (we say, measurable feature of form) or quality that may be applied as a standard. Thus, we often speak of material and social elements as expressing and demonstrating “good” attitudes, good behavior, good conduct, flavor, size, and taste.
There is far more to be considered, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (3.) Because Christian believers acknowledge GOD as the source of all good, every other standard for describing and maintaining existence also must be in agreement and harmony as aspects of a single truth. The “logic” here is plain: Good or bad, compared to what? Value is assigned to created beings and living creatures (we say, judgment) on the basis of their content of divine substance, and their effect as expressions of eternal purpose, not so much their peculiar actions and deeds. Given many names (e.g., breath, light, love, spirit, word), the living will be established as companions to divinity because they continue to contain divine substance that establishes and maintains intimate and personal relationship (we say, believers become born again as offspring of GOD.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
