(01/08/2014) Are We the Spoils of War?

The place of mankind in the seeming war between GOD and Satan is the topic, today.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers Malaysia” using the ID “dk” (Level 1 with 101 points, a member since January 21, 2013) posted the following first asked at Yahoo Answers United States:

(for those of you who believe in the Bible) Is it your understanding?

..that we as human beings are in the middle of a constant war between God's hosts and Satans? Each side trying to influence us to follow their standard?

Just curious

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.  For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  (2nd Timothy 4:  1-8, KJV)

“dk”, here are some points most Christian believers carefully take into account:

(1.)  While we use language portraying conflict on a cosmic scale between opposing spiritual forces, mankind and the earth as a platform for human existence are not the prize of a war for conquest and expansion of physical territory.  That mankind’s dominion over the earth is spoken of as forfeited and surrendered to Satan is best understood as figurative language to describe the human predicament established by sin—a nonmaterial, non-spirit influence upon awareness and self-will that causes created beings and living creatures to oppose continued existence of divine law, of GOD, and of all creation.

(2.)  Mankind is not the passive victim of a continuing war around and outside itself between good and bad, light and darkness, right and wrong.  Yet, humanity and the earth appear as sacred tools for the demonstration and revealing of divine authority, sovereign will, consecrated person, and eternal purpose to correct and guide the creatures of heaven, and one another.

(3.)  For the Christian, ambivalence, continuing inner conflict and the natural uncertainty of life upon the earth describe growth and service as a “good fight of faith” where believers pursue such goals as accomplishing all their potential for fellowship with divinity as well as those for receiving the divine nature, sharing the good news of their own salvation, and being transformed to exist having immortality and incorruption.  The dynamic for life experience is one of flux and movement that results by disparity, diversity, and imbalance.  Rest and stability are accomplished through choice, commitment and submission.  However, these also are temporal, and do not endure apart from GOD, who is immutable.

There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example (4.)  GOD has no equal or peer against whom he competes.  There can be no warfare or victory against GOD.  All finite Creation is immersed in multiple divine operations and processes that establish being and existence, and constitute the existence of GOD.  The belief that there is “independence from GOD” continues as an artifact of separation fostered by individual awareness and self-will that often become dominated by sin.  The imparted Spirit from GOD through the ministry of Jesus Christ enables believers to resist sin, and focus away from self to affirm the grace, integrity and righteousness of GOD as Creator, Judge, Savior and Ruler over all.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.  (1st Timothy 6:  12, KJV)
