(12/01/2013) Like a Thief?

Language in the Bible that speaks to the Advent of Jesus is in view, today.  Also, there is more on the final elimination of sin.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Trey” (Level 1 with 111 points, December 1, 2013) posted the following:

What does it mean when the bible says "The Lord will come like a thief in the night""?

THE BATTLE AXE:  We Are Still Sinning? (11/30/2013)—The parable of the wheat and tares help us to comprehend that life essence within created beings and living creatures may not now be separated from the mix of features that come together appearing as sin (see Matthew 13:  24-30, KJV).  An agency first must be employed that will bring into clear view all that must be destroyed by the divine use of holy fire.  Keeping in mind that the first realization of sin was made among angelic beings who existed within the celestial presence (we say, heaven), the simple coming and dwelling of GOD upon the earth as an incarnate person in Jesus will never be enough to totally eradicate and remove sin from mankind, or the other created beings and living creatures throughout Creation.  Even so, the divine visitation and sacrifice of holy blood at the cross continue as the most surpassing act of revealed celestial love, and the only response from the GODhead that may accomplish full atonement for sin, all the demands for mercy and righteousness in judgment as well as the cleansing, purification and restoration of the heavens.  The Advent or Second Coming will continue the revelation of GOD to the farthest extent of the universe.  Yet, the return of Jesus to harvest believers from the earth will not be the last and final divine work to complete the eternal and permanent removal of sin.  Following the transformation of those marked as just and righteous through faith in Jesus Christ to exist as immortal and incorruptible, there will be judgment of the wicked, their destruction, and distribution of new homes for the faithful who will abide within the Holy City, New Jerusalem.  (See 2nd Timothy 4:  1-5, 2nd Timothy 4:  7-8, Jude 1:  14-15 and Revelation 21:  1-8, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  (2nd Peter 3:  9-12, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Why GOD Does Not Tell All (09/11/2013); GOD Bless America? (09/12/2013); The Return in Glory? (07/04/2013); Desire for Love? (07/05/2013); When Jesus Comes Back? (04/19/2013); What’s The Way Out? (04/20/2013)

“Trey”, here is an answer most honest Christian believers would endorse that agrees with teachings from the Bible.  In effect, Jesus taught that, what GOD will do next for the salvation of mankind and the destruction of all unrighteousness will come “without further warning”:

(1.)  GOD is not a cheat, a liar, or someone who will betray you with a brick to the back of the head.  GOD is a spirit whose actions and operations include putting forth life essence and material substance (we may say, flesh and blood).  Created beings and living creatures are made aware of divinity through visible sacred events as well as changes, interactions and movement within the spirit content of their own person.

(2.)  GOD has used audible speech and divine utterance (we may say, breath) as tools to make himself known to mankind.  He has revealed himself through such forms of communication and language as praise, prayer, proclamations, professions of love, promises, prophecy, and warning.  Through such devices mankind has received messages of chastisement, correction, encouragement, and instruction.  Sacred operations to further reveal GOD include acknowledgment and confession of sin, and ones need for salvation; conviction and faith that appear in Christian believers; the harvesting of the earth through judgment; repentance resulting from operations of the imparted, indwelling Spirit; resurrection of the dead; and baptism that accomplishes death, rebirth and sanctification.

There is far more to be said, correctly shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (3.)  GOD also “speaks” through silence, and by not speaking.  In a sense, the many statements recorded as Scriptures are the “divine last word.”  Enough has already been said, and there will be no new statements of sacred truth.  In the same way the law does not predict future events, yet, is in place as a set of fixed patterns and sanctions that also describe outcomes for various choices and occurrences, the holy writings that now exist provide believers with all the information they absolutely must have to be prepared for the coming of Jesus as the Messiah and our Risen Lord.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  We who claim place in covenant to GOD are to shine forth as a light to the world.  Happy Hanukkah to all.
