(10/14/2018) How Did Noah Know?

Today, reply is on human knowledge, the flood, and the operations of GOD to preserve Creation from the devastating spread of sin. The ability, knowledge, and grasp upon sacred law that was granted to Adam in the beginning was so great that mankind was fully equipped to have dominion and rule over the entire earth, and every living creature. The knowledge gained through the transgression of the pair only fitted them for struggle and survival. The fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” Religion and Spirituality public forum using the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shared) posted the following:

How did Noah know of the species from the new world seeing the new world hadn't been discovered yet?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him. And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. (Genesis 7: 1-7, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Firstborn Of Every Creature (05/09/2018); “New Creation” and Life (01/01/2018); Jesus Demonstrated Perfected Humanity (10/29/2017); Lower Than The Angels? (09/12/2017); Multiply, Replenish and Rule (08/27/2017); The Covenant of Noah? (12/16/2014); Atone, Judge and Replenish (12/17/2014)

Anonymous”, in agreement with the Scriptures, here are some of the points regarding Adam, Jesus, Noah and the flood that Christian believers continue to receive as part of the full revelation of GOD to mankind:

(1.) Neither angels nor mankind were created as “all-knowing”, as “knowing the future,” and as having fore-knowledge. The angels (who are neither immortal nor mortal, and whose duration is according to divine prerogative, eternal purpose, and sovereign will) do not acquire knowledge by discovery, gradual growth, and learning as do men; and the angels were endowed at their creation with the full measure of the knowledge they would use throughout their service to GOD.

(2.) Adam was created to exist as a companion to immortal, incorruptible divinity, and lived for nearly a full millennium (1,000 years) on the earth that did not have the present day problems of automobile gridlock, air and water pollution, disease, or sanitation and waste removal for plastic straws. The capacity of mind provided for the first male, Adam, was on a scale such that the man could name, recall, and recognize every animal presented to him by the Creator.

(3.) As a patriarch himself and the heir to the priesthood of Adam, Noah lived for hundreds of years, and proclaimed prophecy from GOD through the operations of the Holy Spirit (we also say, the Comforter; the Holy Ghost; the Spirit of Prophecy; the Spirit of Truth). Aspects of Noahs knowledge had been handed down as inheritance and instruction through oral traditions; other elements, like the animals being drawn to the ark, were provided by the same Spirit that worked during Creation.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) The figure or type represented by Noah in the holy writings is that of “the second Adam,” one we also see applied to Jesus Christ. Adam and Noah both were commanded to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. Jesus, however, established new life, rebirth, resurrection, and a new creation.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(03/19/2017) Names of the Adversary?

Today, reply is made to a question on a personal name in the Bible given to the Adversary of Jesus Christ.  The primary focus for Christian readers should be the revelation of GOD to created beings and living creatures using the carnal form and spirit person of Jesus Christ.  Personal names for divinity become important because every sinner must seek a personal relationship with the Creator.  However, none are encouraged to seek a personal relationship with the one called “a murderer from the beginning,” “the accuser of the brethren,” “the covering cherub,” and “the wicked one.”  An important principle for organizing sacred knowledge from the Bible is that the spirit should be a reader’s focus more than “the letter.”  Information supplied in Scripture is accepted and affirmed on the basis of corroborating testimonies and the certainty imparted as faith, not upon elements from the world such as secular knowledge, scholarship and language studies.  The Bible is to be understood as prophetic, promissory, and things spiritual in their makeup that are not always carnal, material or social in nature (e.g., covenants, parables, sermons, vows).  Exact dates, personal names, and precise descriptions of events and places often are less useful than the “shadows”, simple patterns, repeated figures, and sacred display of types that will appear.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Lala” (Level 6 with 13,784 points, a member since May 09, 2013) posted the following:
Christians...why do you believe Satan's name was Lucifer when there is no lucifer in any Hebrew, or Aramaic text?
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thy ga’on (pomp, pride) is brought down to Sheol, and the noise of thy nevalim (harps); the rimmah (graveworm) is spread out under thee, and the tola’at (worm) covers thee.  How art thou fallen from Shomayim, O Heilel Ben Shachar (Bright One of the Dawn, Day Star, Lucifer)! How art thou cast down to the earth, thou, which hast laid low the Goyim!  For thou hast said in thine lev, I will ascend into Shomayim, I will exalt my kisse above the kokhavim (stars) of El (G-d); I will sit also upon the har mo’ed (mount of assembly), on yarketei Tzafon (on the heights of Tzafon);  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like Elyon (the Most High).  Yet thou shalt be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the bor (pit).  (Yeshayah (Isaiah) 14:  11-15, Orthodox Jewish Bible, OJB)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Destruction of the Adversary? (01/06/2017); About Lucifer in Scripture (02/18/2016); The Main Problem?(11/26/2015); The Need For Divine Rule? (08/27/2015); GOD and Hitler? (03/12/2015); The Power of Death? (10/01/2013); Divine Love Revealed? (10/02/2013)
“Lala”, throughout the holy writings, instead of being a spoken word to know someone by, a name is their reputation, their body of deeds and works.  Those choosing to be built up and edified through the things from GOD and Christ are not to focus on the names and origins of evil, the character and nature of wickedness, and the personifications of sin.  Even the prophesies of conflict, teaching about angels, and the topic of war in heaven are to be examined emphasizing balance, restraint, and their fruitfulness in the work of saving souls.  Thus, forgiveness, divine love, majesty, purity and righteousness of Deity are to be uppermost in the believer’s own thoughts and in what is shared as ministry.
Mature believers rely on the Bible to develop discernment, the ability to correctly recognize spirit content from the makeup of GOD within events, oneself, other persons, prophecy, holy writings, etc.  The Bible records the sacred operations of divinity using thousands of events, within thousands of lives, over the course of thousands of years.  The observations and presentations from academic thinkers and secular scholars rarely supply genuine spirit substance from the makeup of GOD such as faith, forbearance, gratitude, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.
In the same way there are multiple figures and holy names that appear throughout the Scriptures when proclaiming the sovereign authority and power of GOD, there also are various names used to speak of a created being who has operated in Creation opposing divinity.  Called “Satan” (the Adversary), “the Devil” (one who slanders), “the Dragon”, “the Fallen Angel” and “the Scapegoat”, he is acknowledged as a carrier, embodiment, and a purveyor of sin.  Sin indiscriminately opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and all divine order.  While sin has not been put forth by divinity, and has no spirit content, sin has direction, effect, and presence.  Sin may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures; therefore, through Jesus Christ men receive fresh endowments of imparted, indwelling Spirit.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, the names of the wicked should not be exalted and accounted as “great men” or women of history.  By their deed destroying life, they become irrelevant and unworthy of honor, even where the topic of our discussion is the pattern wherein death, deception, and rebellion are introduced and maintained.  Also, when in relationship with divinity, personal names are of less importance, for a believer’s accomplishments should be credited to Christ just as their redemption and salvation are not by their own merit.  The names we now use as aspects of our carnal, material and social existence will not be used in the heaven and earth made new.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(11/03/2016) When the Donkey Speaks?

Balaam.jpg

Today, focus is upon divine authority, obedience, prophecy, and the holy writings.  Accounts from the Bible all are intended to reveal the character, nature and substance of divinity.  The holy writings therefore include genealogy, epistles, chronicles and secular history, parables, proclamations, promises, and prophecy.  Stories where animals speak and give instruction (fables) generally are intended for amusement and entertainment; and fables rarely impart the Holy Spirit as do documents of faith, and the Scriptures.  The donkey who spoke saved the life of a man three times in the same day.  In contrast to the Prophet Moses, the figure of Balaam is introduced as a seer (we also say, an earlier form, a visionary, and “the old man”), a false prophet, and a presentation (i.e., symbolic type) of Satan.  Denied authority and privilege to directly attack, curse, or destroy Israel, Balaam operates as a deceiver and one who encourages their self-destruction through fornication, idolatry, presumption, and pride.  The new writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Elo” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since November 02, 2016) posted the following:

Where in the old testament does a donkey speak to her master?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.  And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam:  and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.  And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?  And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me:  I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.  And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? and he said, Nay.  Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand:  and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.  And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me:  And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times:  unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.  And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me:  now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.  And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men:  but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.  (Numbers 22:  26-35, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Malachi (01/02/2015); Why Prophets Were Sent to Israel (11/23/2014); The Need for Prophecy Then and Now (11/24/2014); A Curse Removed (12/26/2013); Intercession (12/27/2013); Balaam (10/15/2013); About Sabbath (10/16/2013); Utterance is Spirit (09/08/2013); A Start for the Idea of GOD? (09/09/2013)

“Elo”, in the 4th Book of Moses called “Numbers” (see chapters 22-25) there is an account of opposition against divine authority through law, covenant relationship, prophecy, and shared sacred purpose.  Mature Christian believers understand from this account that Balaam the son of Beor was a seer (a person who experienced paranormal visions, practiced shamanism, and was believed able to intercede for humanity with good and evil spirits).  Having heard reports of the judgment by GOD against Egypt on behalf of the sons of Jacob (to whom they were in kinship), and unwilling to risk the destruction of his army, the king of Moab wanted Balaam to discourage, disperse, and repel the Israelites.  Balaam was recruited to pronounce a curse upon their camp.  However, before that time, Balaam also had been used by the true GOD as a spokesperson (we say, prophet).
Men were repeatedly sent from the king who, like the serpent that beguiled Eve, were arrayed in splendor, and appealed to Balaam’s weaknesses (i.e., ambition, human covetousness, desire, exaggerated pride, self-will).  Finally GOD allowed Balaam to go with the messengers to Moab; however, he was to speak only what GOD would put in his mouth.  As further admonition, and example, and warning to Balaam, the path for their journeying became increasingly difficult.  When his jackass (we say, donkey) balked, he began to beat her with a prod.  Finally, the animal halted and would go no further, because she could see that the path was forbidden:  An angel from GOD was standing there with his sword in readiness to  strike.  When the man, seeing nothing there, began to beat her in “road rage”, GOD allowed the animal to speak what divinity would put in her mouth.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended, here.  For example, as with the first pair (Adam and Eve), to be properly prepared for forthcoming challenges and tests, created beings and living creatures usually require more than mere words, commandments, and laws that are to reside within their hearts and minds.  There must be operations of divine spirit.  Finite tools such as emotion, imagination, intellect, logic, philosophy, and science are not enough for the living to correctly recognize, resist, and eliminate sin.  Sinners also must receive a fresh deposit of spirit content from the makeup of Deity (e.g., faith, holiness, love, wisdom, wrath against sin); be filled with the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD (we say, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Prophecy); and have sacred knowledge that allows discernment of spirit content from GOD within events (we say, miracles), themselves and other people, the holy writings, etc.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/24/2016) About The Great Whore?

Today, some thoughts are shared on prostitution and the Great Whore who appears as a symbol and type within the Bible.  Sin may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures.  The revelation of divine righteousness and wrath against sin is demonstrated in judgment by GOD, who demands exclusive devotion, and whose name, therefore, is Jealous.  Devotion to carnal pleasure, false gods, and man-made idols are to be understood as corruptions and perversions of human creativity and “the World” that should emerge from the endowment of divine love and indwelling spirit imparted to mankind at Creation.  Unlike Christian believers who strive to be known as faithful, persevering, steadfast and trustworthy, whores must be exposed by the provisions of GOD because they are actors and hypocrites who do not love, and they lack faith imparted from divinity, yet, may convincingly feign affection, commitment, and zeal.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Adam” (Level 4 with 3,124 points, a member since April 25, 2011) posted the following:
So is the idea behind the great whore in christianity someone who accepts everyone?
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;  In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;  But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!  They give gifts to all whores:  but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.  And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms:  and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.  Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:  Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;  Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.  And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.  And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places:  they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.  They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.  And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women:  and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.  So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.  (Ezekiel 16:  30-42, KJV)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The World and The Cross? (04/19/2016); A $1,000 Dollar Seed? (11/02/2015);  Incest? (10/29/2015); Money Is No Object? (10/14/2015); A Kindness to Mary? (04/21/2013); When GOD Controls? (04/22/2013); Pornography from the Bible? (11/26/2012); More Than Salvation (11/27/2012)
“Adam”, may I share some thoughts, here?  Mature Christian believers depend upon the holy writings to explain the various figures, symbols, and types that appear, especially where they have been provided to put forth admonition, prophecy, and revelation.  The Great Whore is described directly only within the Book of Revelation, and is a representation of commerce, enterprise, and trade; and may be regarded as corruption of both “the Flesh” and “the World.”  The carnal, material and social mechanisms and processes that may dominate human life are called “the flesh.”  Included are appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, sexual craving), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), emotion/mental functions  (e.g., anger, fear, imagination, recall).  In the same way the earth is the creation of divinity to maintain life for mankind, “the World” has been the creation of mankind for communication, exchange, life experience, and its own  survival.  Through the operations of sin that oppose the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the Creation established on a platform of sacred law, “the World” has become corrupt, defiled, and spiritually unclean.  Thus, the Great Whore can be seen as a mix of idols and images mistakenly exalted and worshiped among men that include the City, Mammon, the lingam, the mother, the yoni, and even marriage that is the counterfeit of holy matrimony.  Throughout the holy writings, prostitution and whoredom are used to identify sin that is otherwise hidden and disguised to be favor from “god”.  Those who offer themselves to false gods and idols do so by “hiring” and “paying for intimacy” with abominations.  The concepts of blessing (we also say, gifts) and grace from GOD are despised.  Those who “lust after” the Great Whore do so seeking to selfishly profit from, and make merchandise of the things from GOD (e.g., atonement, forgiveness, instruction, redemption, salvation).  They display to their chosen idol(s) the offerings and sacrifices properly due only to the true and living GOD.  Sacred law exposes sin as destructive, empty, ugly, and vain (i.e., without divine content).  In the same way, many have erred supposing they may consult a prostitute for instruction about sexual matters, and do not understand they are submitting themselves to fornication and life patterns that generate further emotional, psychological and spiritual confusion, the disciples of Christ have been warned that many will covet the inheritance of the church, become deceived and submit to “worship” of the Great Whore.

(02/18/2015) The Baptist and The Tishbite?

Old and New Testament prophecies concerning the coming of Christ are in view, today, such as Malachi 4: 5-6 and Luke 1:  16-18, KJV.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using “cosmo” as their ID (Level 7 with 114,460 points, a member since September 05, 2006) attacked with the following:

In Christian mythology, what does it mean that John the Baptist (a real, historical person) is Elijah (legendary prophet) who is to come?

Does this mean that Christian mythology includes reincarnation?
Didn't Elijah already exist centuries before?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?  And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.  And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.  Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?  He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.  And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.  And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?  John answered them, saying, I baptize with water:  but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;  He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.  These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.  (John 1:  19-29, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Why Prophets Were Sent to Israel (11/23/2014); The Need for Prophecy Then and Now (11/24/2014); The Body of Moses (05/11/2014); GOD Permits Evil? (05/12/2014); Prophetic Demonstrations (09/06/2013); Why GOD Prayed to GOD (09/07/2013); Jesus and the Pharisees (07/14/2013); How Could Angels Fall? (07/15/2013); Both Born Holy? (04/29/2013); Scripture at Funerals? (04/30/2013)

“cosmo”, here are a few points to consider that have helped many Christian believers avoid error, foolishness and spiritual confusion:

(1.)  Christian belief appears as the product of exchanges, interactions, and operations among, upon and within multiple aspects of a person’s spirit content.  Conviction that results through the active presence and person of divinity can not be correctly and completely understood using finite, material or mechanical academic disciplines and tools such as history, intellect, logic, philosophy, and science.  There must be sacred (not secular) knowledge that is not derived from abstract analysis, labeling, and experimental manipulation.

(2.)  Using language from literary criticism and scholarly study, both Elijah and John the Baptist are types (i.e., figures and symbols that identify a peculiar class or concept appearing throughout the holy writings).  The idea of “reincarnation” with a changing, eternal continuation of ones existence does not appear at all in the Scriptures.  Yet, there are resurrection from the dead for judgment; rebirth through baptism, repentance and sanctification; as well as translation from life to eternal life without the occurrence of death.

(3.)  Among the many things you may not know, Elijah performed several miracles (we say, sacred events), and was taken up to GOD by a chariot of fire, yet, also appeared with Moses to Jesus before the Lord’s crucifixion.  The destruction of Jerusalem with captivity and exile saw a break in the line of priests and prophets that had gone forth from those who left Egypt.  John the Baptist, who received the Holy Spirit before he actually was born, was the first to appear among the Jews in more than 400 years that met the criteria for both priests and prophets recorded in the holy writings—an abiding spirit from GOD.   Similarly, in addition to prophet, Jesus demonstrated the anointing as High Priest, judge, king, redeemer, and savior.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The stream of prophecy is essential for the sacred operation of revelation whereby created beings and living creatures are given an experience of continuing consciousness from GOD, who is immutable, invisible, unchanging spirit and can not be apprehended using only sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), emotion, and mental functions.  Jesus Christ appeared as an incarnation of GOD in the earth to fulfill and validate the revelation documented among those in covenant with divinity, and provide further assurance that all the many proclamations from GOD definitely will be carried out and completed.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith and spiritual maturity.

(01/28/2015) Adam, Pharaoh and All Mankind?

Today, points are shared on Pharaoh of Egypt and the divine preparation given those who left Egypt with Moses.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Oscar You re a grouch” (Level 1 with 21 points, a member since March 21, 2013) posted the following:

Why did god harden the pharaoh a heart?

Was he desperate for some spilt blood that day? Does he like killing more than saving?

Update : Noah's ark suggests he does

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:  To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.  Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning:  I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed:  and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.  I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.  They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.  To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth:  thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.  (Ezekiel 31:  13-18, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Harden Not Your Hearts? (09/08/2014); Why Believers Fear (09/09/2014); A Hardened Spirit? (06/12/2014); Mary (06/13/2014); The Judges Who Condemned Jesus? (01/17/2014); Hardness of Heart? (11/24/2013); Prayer on Behalf of Others? (11/25/2013); “Authorized Personnel Only”? (03/13/2013); Before Abraham Was… (03/14/2013)

“Oscar You re a grouch”, here are some points shared among Christian believers who use their own faith and other spirit content from GOD to examine the things recorded in the holy writings:

(1.)  Pharaoh was used by GOD as a tool to demonstrate to Israel and all mankind unseen aspects of the human condition, the nature of divinity, and the opposing presence of sin.  The tribes of Jacob were being entered into a process of permanent change, restoration, temptation (we say, challenge, testing, trial), and transformation.

(2.)  In addition to explanations and warnings through things that occurred in the very beginning of Creation, all were to be prepared and strengthened through sacred events (we say, miracles) and judgment (resolution of conflict and settlement of disputes through law) that would make visible and reveal their own true nature, the operations of sin as well as divine intent, sacred process, and eternal purpose .

(3.)  Just as GOD proclaimed his name (we say, his accomplishments, how he is to be known and spoken of, his reputation) to Moses the Deity is revealed to Pharaoh and all of Egypt as a sovereign ruler and judge.  Egypt existed as a one-world empire controlling or influencing the economy and lifestyle of every other nation.  Pharaoh had proclaimed himself a god; and was shown to be both an idol (an object having no divine content, yet, revered and worshiped), and an adversary of the true GOD.

(4.)  The figure of Pharaoh appears as a type used to present various major themes within Scripture.  In the same way Adam was to exercise dominion over all the earth that served as a seat of divine power (we say, throne), and the primary sphere of life for humanity, we repeatedly see all mankind and Satan striving to have authority, control, possession, and presence within the earth.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Learning to repeat the ABC’s is not enough for a child to read and write.  You must learn to combine and recombine the individual letters, and master comprehension.  Similarly, the things of GOD for those who left Egypt, wandered in the wilderness, and entered into the Promised Land were all a preamble to the coming of Jesus, the establishment of salvation, and the bestowing of eternal life.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of your faith.

(08/31/2014) Why Similar Accounts

Today, more points are shared on the process of Scripture and why similar accounts featuring different persons and times may appear.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Stories Repeated in the Bible? (08/30/2014)—(5.)  Often, what appears as repetition in the Scriptures presents added and new information that furthers discernment and insight.  The process of spirit growth is one of gradual change and transformation.  The many life lessons of the Bible are conveyed using such elements as comparison, contrast, and diversity.  Many points are provided as admonitions and warning, others for explanation and instruction, while some serve to establish or trigger memory.  What appears to be their similarity and sameness is often the result of their displaying a shared and single spirit.  In the power and purpose of GOD, holy writings provide deposits of spirit content that continually nourish, refresh, and revive ones own endowment of spirit from GOD.  Finite intelligence may only recognize these operations when they appear through familiar forms and clear patterns.  Consider how, when assembling a jigsaw puzzle with thousands of pieces, we find there are many parts that at first appear all to be the same, that we later discover have form and unique details that make each one different from the others.  More than serving to publish carnal and historical information, the Scriptures impart inseparable (where one appears, all the others appear) aspects of divinity from the makeup of GOD.  Thus, with faith there are also holiness, joy, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  To those lacking discernment (ability to use their own spirit content to recognize and respond to spirit content in events, objects, persons, purposes) these aspects of GOD are lumped together, spoken of, and thought to be interchangeable—that they do the same thing and work the same way.  In fact, however, they are all distinct, yet only have their sacred effect interacting and working together.

(6.)  The device of divine prophecy first appears in the Scriptures during the account of Adam and Eve hearing GOD rebuke the serpent.  Early accounts of prophecy where dreams are used to proclaim divine intent include visions given patriarchs Abraham and Jacob.  Later examples are kings David and Solomon, prophets Ezekiel and Micah, the Apostle Paul, and John the Revelator.  In the Bible, lessons are repeated to demonstrate that the word from GOD given forth as proclamation, promise, and prophecy is credible, focused, trustworthy, and unchanging.

(7.)  Both Daniel and Joseph are symbols, and types (figures that appear repeatedly to represent a peculiar theme, a specific principle, or an operation of GOD) like Jacob and Esau that point to features among humanity such as birthright, brotherhood, competition, covenant, duty, gifts, sibling rivalry, and inheritance to clarify priesthood, service to GOD, and intimate relationship with divinity.  Believers are to discern and recognize that the same GOD is able to function and operate in different conditions and circumstances.

(8.)  All dreams do not carry messages from GOD that reveal sacred events with otherwise hidden and invisible purpose, and our routine dreams are not prophetic in nature.  Prophetic dreams appear through operations by an aspect of full divine person, the Holy Spirit, through and upon the spirit content of those having faith from GOD.  Ordinarily, dreams are a product of ones emotional and mental states.  Actions and declarations are repeated in Scripture to indicate the correct interpretation, divine origin, and significance of dreams and prophesies.  Where a dream from GOD recurs or repeats, it is to indicate the firmness of divine purpose.  See Deuteronomy 13:  1-5, Ecclesiastes 5:  2-3 and 7, Jeremiah 23:  31-33, Daniel 2:  28, Amos 3:  7, Genesis 41:  32 and Acts 2:17, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me:  and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in:  behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.  But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:  And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.  Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.  And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.  For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.  Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.  But ye said, Wherein shall we return?  (Malachi 3:  1-7, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Chosen To Serve As Prophets (01/01/2014); Lawful Revenge? (01/02/2014); Why A “Spokesperson”? (01/14/2013); No Contradictions? (01/15/2013); About Conversion (09/03/2012)

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (9.)  The Scriptures also are recorded to serve as evidence and testimony in divine judgment.  The device of repetition of similar events over time may be seen as establishing the “weight of evidence” for argument in the same way as multiple eye witness reports, and corroborating materials such as ballistic test results, DNA, fibers, finger prints and telephone logs.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(06/13/2013) Errors of King Solomon?

Focus today is upon David and Solomon as flawed leaders who continue to be useful to GOD, and more on wholeness of the Bible despite “missing” information.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “pray for the world.” (Level 7 with 69,028 points, a member since April 15, 2011) posted the following:

Does it make sense that King Solomon married the Pharaoh’s daughter…..?

considering that he was the King of Israel and should know the law, not to intermarry with the heathen. Not only that he built her a lavish house. So this was the first sign his decisions were leading to trouble it seems?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Missing Information (06/12/2013)— (5)  From Genesis through Revelation, a believer’s focus when reading the holy writings must be directed to identifying the purposes, presence and action of Almighty GOD.   The reader is challenged to discern and recognize answers to such questions as how is the Holy Spirit present in this account?  What are the sacred operations demonstrated here (e.g., anointing, atonement, confession, covenant, forbearance, forgiveness, judgment, repentance, revelation, salvation, sanctification)?  How is sacred tradition acknowledged, complained against, continued, depicted, or put right?  The angels, animals (e.g., Balaam’s donkey that spoke), major and minor human actors, aspects of the natural world (e.g., hills, rocks, waters), and sacred beasts of heaven all serve as devices to reveal the exalted person of GOD as the source of all being and existence.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:  And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:  And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces:  for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:  (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)  Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.  Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand:  but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:  But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.  And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.  And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.  And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.  And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.  Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam.  And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.  (1st Kings 11:  29-40, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Root of Jesse (01/03/2013); Newness of Spirit (01/04/2013); Hero or Zero? (12/04/2012); The Golden Age? (01/10/2013); Translation, Please… (01/11/2013); The Priesthood of Kings (10/17/2012); Childlike Faith (10/18/2012); Contradictions? (09/21/2012); The Spirit by Measure (09/22/2012)

“pray for the world.”, here are some points most mature Christian believers share with those who are teachable, and who truly want to learn and understand the Scriptures:

(1)  Accounts, events, the people described, and even the statements quoted in the holy writings are figures and shadows used to suggest peculiar truths surrounding divinity, and are not always accurate, exact, literal, and precise.  More than this, things carnal, material, social and visible are repeatedly used to describe things that are totally spirit in their nature and operation.

(2)  Just as we, today, must experience change and growth in spiritual awareness and understanding, and only arrive at balance, consistency and stability following growing pains, practice, and recovery from errors, figures in the Scriptures all display ambivalence (i.e., being drawn in opposite or multiple directions at the same time), human error, infirmity, and self-contradiction.

(3)  Multiple marriage often appears in the Scriptures as a political device for nations to establish affiliation and treaties for mutual assistance and defense.  Romantic love has little to do with these “practical” arrangements for exchanging, controlling, and securing resources.  (See 1st King 11:  1-4, KJV.)

(4)  The inheritance to Solomon was not simply that of a political ruler.  His spiritual inheritance as leader to Israel included covenants, a role as prophet, and a priesthood that went all the way back to Adam.  In the same way we see David flawed, opposed by sin, yet used by GOD to show divinity as active and present, we see Solomon used to make sin visible in contrast to the righteousness of GOD.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5)  Just as we don’t usually catch our own mistakes until after we have taken the wrong action, and often must be told that we are in error; both David and Solomon held many incorrect ideas.  David believed that Solomon was the offspring from his loins who would maintain an everlasting kingdom in accordance with promises from GOD.  David conceived only an earthly dynasty; and his Unified Kingdom embracing the twelve tribes was dissolved by Rehoboam, the son of Solomon—after only two generations.)   Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(03/13/2013) “Authorized Personnel Only”

Topics, today, are Moses as a prophet of GOD, and the conditions among the people that had to be met when Israel received the law at Mount Sinai.  Also there is more on GOD as a “man of war.”  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “none” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member March 12, 2013) posted the following:

Why were the Israelites not allowed to go with Moses on top of Mt. Sainai to get the ten commandments?

THE BATTLE AXE:  A GOD of War? (03/12/2013)—Because it is colorful, graphic, memorable and easily understood, language associated with war is used throughout the holy writings.  War is often regarded as a display of divine authority and power.  However, war is always only a human enterprise that entails armed conflict, widespread death and costly destruction.  As such, the impact of war may be crippling, global, and enduring.  Despite its promotion of violence, many advocate war as having great benefit.  Just as many believe there cannot be life without death also, many hold that there cannot be life without war.  War is regarded as “good” where war fuels such necessary aspects of social living as consumerism; economic, industrial and technological development of nations; employment; medical research; and population control.  GOD does not use war in any of the primary expressions of divine process, and sacred purpose (e.g., Creation, forgiveness, judgment, repentance, revelation, salvation, sanctification).  Until rebirth and growth through the Holy Spirit, many Christian believers also continue the many conventions, habits and traditions using language that speaks of spiritual warfare, friction, oppression, persecution, rebellion, and struggle.  See Isaiah 2:  4, Micah 4:  3, Ephesians 6:  10-17 and 2nd Corinthians 3:  5, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.  And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken:  for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.  (Exodus 33:  16-17, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Why A “Spokesperson” (01/14/2013); No Contradictions? (01/15/2013); Put Every Man His Sword By His Side (01/01/2013); The Meek Will Inherit (10/16/2012); About False Witness (09/09/2012); The Prophets (02/24/2012); Bad Luck (02/25/2012); The Cause Of Unrest (01/30/2012); Dispatch 30:  Servants of the Lord (09/09/2011); A House of gods (08/31/2012); Heaven For Muhammad? (09/01/2012); (08/15/2011) Dispatch 7:  Weapons (Language)

Every man, woman and child among the tribes of Jacob and the mixed multitudes that journeyed with Moses to Mount Sinai themselves heard (and felt) the voice of GOD proclaim the divine law for covenant.  Terrified, they pleaded that GOD would not appear to them or manifest himself by such a display and voice ever again.  It became a permanent feature of all covenant relationship with mankind that GOD will only “speak” to those on the earth by operating through anointed spokespersons.  Since that time, priesthood and prophecy have been amplified to include intercession and mediation.  See Exodus 20:  1-21, King James Version.

As a prophet of GOD, Moses was elect, and had direct connection to and responses from the Divine Person.  Moses was chosen to carry out and fulfill upon the earth pre-set tasks pertaining to the divine priesthood in heaven as well as to proclamations, promises, and prophecies granted mankind through the Patriarchs.  Moses was given peculiar life experiences that served as his anointing and separation for holy service.  Included were authority to demonstrate judgments against sin (i.e., plagues); compassion; courage; deliverance from death at birth; deliverance from capital punishment for the crime of murder; repentance; peculiar “sightings” and visions of GOD; and wrath against sin.

Moses is a type and figure representing sacred law, divine rule, and the sovereignty of GOD over all Creation.  While the human character of Moses included the flaws of curiosity and poor anger management (Numbers 20:  1-12, KJV), Moses stood out before GOD in humility and meekness.  Moses was one teachable; one responsive to guidance and instruction from the Spirit of GOD.  Like Abraham, Moses was blessed to be in intimate personal relationship with GOD (Numbers 12:  3, Isaiah 11:  4, Exodus 33:  11 and Deuteronomy 34:  10, KJV).

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, Moses also served as a herald who proclaimed the coming of a Christ and Messiah whereby GOD would rule mankind in the earth through divinity in the flesh (see Deuteronomy 18:  15-18, Acts 3:  13-24 and Acts 7:  37, KJV.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(03/07/2013) Non-existent Debt?

The language and process of the holy writings are in view, today, along with more on the childhood of Jesus.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “keyjona” (Level  7 with 25,578 points, a member since June 21, 2008) posted the following:

Did our Father forgive our debt? or did our brother pay for our debt?

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Childhood of Jesus? (03/06/2013)—Mature Christian believers accept that the holy writings are a tool in the process of divine revelation.  Readers must take on a new “mind-set”, a distinct way of thinking about human existence, and about themselves.  Repeatedly, the Scriptures present persons and human events as types, figures and displays of spiritual principles and truths, rather than heroes or villains in epic tales.  Various figures appear (e.g., angels, judges, priests, prophets, kings, the covenant people, the Christ and Messiah) as expressions of sacred devices and instruments to carryout divine intent.  The reports given to a reader are not so much to detail specific actions and incidents as to reconfigure their consciousness using spirit-content.  The full reality of Divine Person and divinity reside in the official administrator, the Christ; therefore, the man, Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, is to be seen and understood as an instance of Almighty GOD appearing in flesh (i.e., incarnate).   Additionally, in principle, all of the holy prophets are alive and present in the person of the Christ, as though a single individual could be a composite containing the aspects of spiritual goodness from the lives and personality of every godly person that ever existed.  Bible readers generally understand that many activities for practical living and the day-to-day lives for the people of GOD were fixed and focused by the counsels, laws, parables and proverbs from GOD.  Also, there were traditions continued across many generations.  The course of a child’s activity, development and growth was generally described and predictable through the prescriptions and requirements from such elements.  Mature Christians typically hold that nagging questions and unsatisfied curiosity about the childhood of Jesus usually comes from our “old man” more than from the “new creature in Christ.”  Bible believers are not being equipped to answer directly whether Jesus ever played-stick ball with other boys, played pranks, was sexually initiated, or committed the errors and mischief many of us have known.  This is because our correct focus is upon his experience, fulfillment and portrayal of divine law, promise, proclamation and prophecy (see 1st Corinthians 13:  8-13, KJV).  Thus, in addition to what we understand as the standard experiences of home-life, learning and worship, a believer’s knowledge of the childhood of Jesus is obtained through the record describing other children and youth in divine service such as Moses, Samuel, David, Josiah, and Timothy.  Also, believers themselves undergo the very same spiritual experiences that make up “the childhood” of Jesus through their own baptism, sanctification, and continuing spiritual growth as a reborn child of GOD.  Consider again Galatians 4:  3-7 (KJV).

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  (2nd Peter 1:  19-21, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  A Text for Lives Today? (11/25/2012); Pornography from the Bible? (11/26/2012); Doing Nothing? (01/04/2011); “As If” (01/05/2011); Eaten in Haste? (01/06/2011); Proving Truth? (12/24/2010); Lord of Sabbath (12/25/2010); Bible Complete? (11/01/2010); Holy Writings? (11/02/2010); Bible Boring? (09/29/2010)

The two ideas you present reinforce one another, and are not truly complete standing alone.  Many mature Christian believers agree that, while the holy writings use many common expressions and language describing human events, secular process and social realities, the primary intent of Scripture is to establish a consciousness of spiritual elements that interact and overlap as the human condition, and that cannot be completely known through the flesh (i.e., experiences of such senses as hearing, seeing and touching).  Such concepts as duty, freedom, indebtedness, innocence, obedience and reward are used to put forward a more complete awareness of human relationship to the invisible, yet real, creator and maker of mankind.

The interconnected concepts of law, judgment, and salvation generate peculiar descriptions of mankind, of mankind’s Creator, and of the universe wherein humanity exists.  Beginning with ones awareness of the demands from human law, it is reasonable for men upon the earth to speak in terms of fines, levies, punishments, and financial sanctions that may be brought against transgressors and violators of contracts that include the overall social consensus (i.e., civil, corporate, family and criminal law).  However, to embrace the concepts of covenant and continuing intimate relationship with GOD, the need is for terms whose definitions are given by GOD, and that are broad, yet concrete and exact enough to embrace themes that are cosmic, existential and eternal.  Because, radical and often undefined terms that allow men to assume they are all saying the same thing or that they themselves have right knowledge are repeatedly used (such as atonement, forgiveness, love and peace), believers in Christ are to be anchored in more than mere mental exercises and words.  The church serves as the source of a new lifestyle and living vocabulary that includes shared experience of giving, praise, prayer, repentance and sacramental worship.

The language created to speak of sin necessarily must be “non-sense”, for sin is no material, physical or spirit thing that exists.  Sin was discovered first among the holy angels as the complaint against limitations imposed by divine law.  Because sin may not be known or eliminated by created beings and living creatures independently and separate from divinity, sin may dominate their endowments of awareness and self-will.  Sin contains no divine substance, and, in this sense, sin is not “created,” and sin does not exist.  Sin is not an expression of the divine will, and has no power to overcome the will of GOD.  Even so, sin has direction, effect and presence.  Divine devices supplied to make possible a living awareness and resistance to sin include law, priesthood, prophecy, repentance, sacrifice, the imparting of Spirit to indwell the living and the transformation of heaven and earth (i.e.,  “the making of all things new”).

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, the human intellectual process for knowing includes both deductive and inductive reasoning.  Through induction, a broad group of similar elements display a “rule” that is common for them all.  Thereby, many different or repeated instances combine to provide substance as a single truth.  In the Bible, thousands of incidents from thousands of lives combine to affirm spiritual concepts and values only crudely spoken of through human language and speech.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/10/2013) The Golden Age?

The reign of Solomon is the topic, today, and there is more on understanding the doctrines and teachings on hell. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Sleeping Beauty” (Level 1 with 11 points, a member since November 25, 2012) posted the following:

Why did Solomon bring the golden age of Israel instead of King David?

greatest king

THE BATTLE AXE: Understanding Hell (01/09/2013)—Hell is no place in divine order that compares to earth or heaven. As an aspect of what happens to the dead (from dust thou art, unto dust thou shalt return), we may think of hell as beneath the surface of the ground, and as being the earth itself. However, that does not begin to fully explain what becomes of ones spirit. There are no created beings, living creatures, or living spirits in hell. Even for clergy and mature believers it is very difficult to harmonize the many details and subtle truths that are the full doctrine of hell provided by the holy scriptures. It requires growth to higher levels of faith, and may take years of prayer and careful study. The difficulty is increased by the errors of those who do not believe in Christ as their savior, error from those who are practicing deliberate deception as servants to the Devil, and error from those who mean well and are misinformed, superstitious, or spiritually undereducated. Many promote the belief that hell is the place where Satan rules over sinners. However, that and similar ideas derive from powerful impressions made by amusements, entertainments and popular culture. Examples include folk tales, opera, and poetry such as “Paradise Lost,” Dante’s “Inferno” and Goethe’s “Faust.” In the same way the things recorded in the holy writings are not intended as a detailed biography of any person’s life, or a comprehensive history of human events, the Scriptures are not intended to explain the full details of birth, death, life, or damnation. The Scriptures provide peculiar frameworks and outlines that allow men to apprehend revelation and reassurances from GOD. GOD is not the author of confusion; and the goal of understanding is achieved only through diligence, endurance, love, and truth, never through bullying, deception, fear, or presumption.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. (John 18: 36-37, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: The Root of Jesse (01/03/2013); Newness of Spirit? (01/04/2013); Son of Man (11/28/2012); Given the Cloud of Witnesses (11/29/2012); The Priesthood of Kings (10/17/2012); Childlike Faith (10/18/2012); Lion of Judah (01/10/2011); Rich Yet Saved (11/11/2010)

May I share some thoughts:

Many speak of King Solomon as having brought the “Golden Age” because during his reign the Temple at Jerusalem was begun and completed to serve as a permanent house of GOD that would replace the mobile, temporary shelter that was the Tabernacle fashioned under Moses. The Ark of the Testimony acknowledged as the judgment seat of GOD was separated from the Tabernacle during the reign of Saul; and the priesthood for the descendants of Aaron came under a curse through Eli and his sons. The anointing granted to David, and the inheritance to his heir, was therefore that of judge, king, priest and prophet.

Solomon is lauded as having completed many domestic projects to improve life within the nation. Included were the building of cities and stables, the establishment of trade and labor agreements with other nations, and a reputation for wisdom among other monarchs and rulers. During the reign of Solomon there was peace with most of the surrounding nations that repeatedly had waged war against Israel, including Egypt, the Moabites, and the Philistines. At least in part, this peace was the result of treaties for marriage: Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, under Solomon taxation was held to be extreme. When Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, came to the throne, Rehoboam refused to make any gesture or promise of relief. The Unified Kingdom was immediately dissolved, with 10 tribes electing to follow Jeroboam, a fugitive from Egypt, and only 2 remaining to the House of David.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/08/2013) When Does Gossip Become Sin?

Harmless conversation, gossip, “judging others,” and slander are topics, today, along with more on the obedience of Abraham when commanded to sacrifice his son. The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “purplestars” (Level 2 with 389 points, a member since May 8, 2011) posted the following:

Christians: when does it become gossiping....?

So you come home from school/work and you start complaining about an acquaintance of yours who's been treating you wrongly. You tell them everything they've said/done to you and say things like 'He's so annoying' and 'I can't stand him' etc.... Is this gossiping? It it a sinful conversation?... Or are you simply sharing your life with your family?

When does it become a sin? Opinions please!

THE BATTLE AXE: Therefore There Was Trust (01/07/2013)—Christian believers, today, receive the account of Abraham willing to sacrifice his son Isaac as an important type that clarifies promise and salvation from our Creator through the judgment, suffering and death of the Incarnate person of GOD, Jesus Christ. A ram was discovered entangled among thorn bushes, and served as a substitute provided by GOD to replace the living boy. Given his position as heir to the priesthood and the promises from GOD bestowed upon Abraham, the obedience and submission by Isaac (the son) may be seen having as great significance as that of Abraham (the father), who is called “the Friend of GOD” (see James 2: 23 and 4: 4, KJV). Intimate knowledge and relationship to GOD are through faith, a totally divine substance residing in the fullness of the Divine Person. Faith is inseparable from such other aspects of divinity as holiness, joy, love, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. While believers receive necessary increases of faith through the imparted, indwelling Spirit, they only come into consistency and mature understanding by practice, repetition, and self-regimen over the course of time. Many sacred experiences and years of spiritual growth may be required before one routinely operates with faith having the focus and power seen through Abraham and Isaac. The apostles who were chosen as witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus all had lived with him on a daily basis, had been eyewitness of his ministry and miracles, and received the Comforter at Pentecost. Those simple men could work as church-builders, preachers and teachers because they had gone through intimate experience to impart and nourish faith. Now, a spirit from GOD that always has been a part of created beings and living creatures, that would occasionally visit and leave selected persons, has become an abiding presence that will remain in all believers. Therefore there is trust.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (Matthew 12: 33-37, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Mockers in the Last Times (11/14/2012); Yet If I Judge (09/05/2012); Father Forgive (09/06/2012); About Being Friendly (03/09/2012); Faith Establishes Law (03/10/2012); (08/24/2011) Dispatch 16: The Ally (Wounded); Respect? (01/02/2011); Not Accepted? (01/03/2011)

Sharing a “factual” report that describes another person’s behavior is not automatically an attack upon their character and reputation that would encourage listeners to deny cooperation, opportunities, privileges or respect to the person who has been spoken about. Also, requesting ideas and alternative responses from others is not the same as soliciting judgment. Even so, because we realize that what we say, and how we say it (using facial expression, gestures, body language and movement), are easily misinterpreted, taken out of context, and applied beyond the limited scope of a speaker’s intent, we “silently” agree to be careful, and restrict our speech. The lines among hints, insinuation, “unfounded accusations,” persuasion, and false witness are subtle (i.e., barely detectable; nearly invisible).

Where the name “Satan” is held to mean “adversary”, the word “devil” is defined as “one who slanders.” To slander is to “bad mouth” someone in their absence (we say talk about them “behind their back”), and is called “character assassination,” gossip, “muckraking,” “murmuring,” “digging up dirt” and “whispering.” Given the intent and purpose of such behavior is to damage and hurt another, those who practice slander are accounted as servants to Satan. As such, they are the source of deceit, lies, and misinformation. While they promote their thrusts against another as righteous indignation and divinely directed judgment, unrighteousness characterizes their effort. Almighty GOD goes so far as to raise the wicked dead that they may respond to their only accuser in judgment, the record of their own behavior and deeds. (Satan, the accuser of the brethren, already will have been cast into the lake of fire, the second death.)

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the person we would gossip about is the person we should pray will receive life-changing benefit from GOD. Believers should never speak about another person what they won’t speak to them face-to-face. The same discipline, tact, and skill they would use to avoid making someone angry, combative, insulted and provoked when speaking to them in private is to be used when speaking about them in public. Saying this another way, what you may not say when praying to GOD requesting that another person have benefit—that is, when showing love—is better left out of mind, and unspoken.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
