(03/19/2017) Names of the Adversary?

Today, reply is made to a question on a personal name in the Bible given to the Adversary of Jesus Christ.  The primary focus for Christian readers should be the revelation of GOD to created beings and living creatures using the carnal form and spirit person of Jesus Christ.  Personal names for divinity become important because every sinner must seek a personal relationship with the Creator.  However, none are encouraged to seek a personal relationship with the one called “a murderer from the beginning,” “the accuser of the brethren,” “the covering cherub,” and “the wicked one.”  An important principle for organizing sacred knowledge from the Bible is that the spirit should be a reader’s focus more than “the letter.”  Information supplied in Scripture is accepted and affirmed on the basis of corroborating testimonies and the certainty imparted as faith, not upon elements from the world such as secular knowledge, scholarship and language studies.  The Bible is to be understood as prophetic, promissory, and things spiritual in their makeup that are not always carnal, material or social in nature (e.g., covenants, parables, sermons, vows).  Exact dates, personal names, and precise descriptions of events and places often are less useful than the “shadows”, simple patterns, repeated figures, and sacred display of types that will appear.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Lala” (Level 6 with 13,784 points, a member since May 09, 2013) posted the following:
Christians...why do you believe Satan's name was Lucifer when there is no lucifer in any Hebrew, or Aramaic text?
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thy ga’on (pomp, pride) is brought down to Sheol, and the noise of thy nevalim (harps); the rimmah (graveworm) is spread out under thee, and the tola’at (worm) covers thee.  How art thou fallen from Shomayim, O Heilel Ben Shachar (Bright One of the Dawn, Day Star, Lucifer)! How art thou cast down to the earth, thou, which hast laid low the Goyim!  For thou hast said in thine lev, I will ascend into Shomayim, I will exalt my kisse above the kokhavim (stars) of El (G-d); I will sit also upon the har mo’ed (mount of assembly), on yarketei Tzafon (on the heights of Tzafon);  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like Elyon (the Most High).  Yet thou shalt be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the bor (pit).  (Yeshayah (Isaiah) 14:  11-15, Orthodox Jewish Bible, OJB)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Destruction of the Adversary? (01/06/2017); About Lucifer in Scripture (02/18/2016); The Main Problem?(11/26/2015); The Need For Divine Rule? (08/27/2015); GOD and Hitler? (03/12/2015); The Power of Death? (10/01/2013); Divine Love Revealed? (10/02/2013)
“Lala”, throughout the holy writings, instead of being a spoken word to know someone by, a name is their reputation, their body of deeds and works.  Those choosing to be built up and edified through the things from GOD and Christ are not to focus on the names and origins of evil, the character and nature of wickedness, and the personifications of sin.  Even the prophesies of conflict, teaching about angels, and the topic of war in heaven are to be examined emphasizing balance, restraint, and their fruitfulness in the work of saving souls.  Thus, forgiveness, divine love, majesty, purity and righteousness of Deity are to be uppermost in the believer’s own thoughts and in what is shared as ministry.
Mature believers rely on the Bible to develop discernment, the ability to correctly recognize spirit content from the makeup of GOD within events, oneself, other persons, prophecy, holy writings, etc.  The Bible records the sacred operations of divinity using thousands of events, within thousands of lives, over the course of thousands of years.  The observations and presentations from academic thinkers and secular scholars rarely supply genuine spirit substance from the makeup of GOD such as faith, forbearance, gratitude, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.
In the same way there are multiple figures and holy names that appear throughout the Scriptures when proclaiming the sovereign authority and power of GOD, there also are various names used to speak of a created being who has operated in Creation opposing divinity.  Called “Satan” (the Adversary), “the Devil” (one who slanders), “the Dragon”, “the Fallen Angel” and “the Scapegoat”, he is acknowledged as a carrier, embodiment, and a purveyor of sin.  Sin indiscriminately opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and all divine order.  While sin has not been put forth by divinity, and has no spirit content, sin has direction, effect, and presence.  Sin may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures; therefore, through Jesus Christ men receive fresh endowments of imparted, indwelling Spirit.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, the names of the wicked should not be exalted and accounted as “great men” or women of history.  By their deed destroying life, they become irrelevant and unworthy of honor, even where the topic of our discussion is the pattern wherein death, deception, and rebellion are introduced and maintained.  Also, when in relationship with divinity, personal names are of less importance, for a believer’s accomplishments should be credited to Christ just as their redemption and salvation are not by their own merit.  The names we now use as aspects of our carnal, material and social existence will not be used in the heaven and earth made new.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
