“CrazyMad”, many points of Christian belief are understood through “common sense” reasoning, and are seen fitting into patterns of full explanation and truth that are supported by the holy writings, yet, are not literally recorded there. It is like an intersection having a 4-way stop, where no speed limit sign appears. The most fatal accidents generally occur at intersections. The stops control the speed that a vehicle enters the intersection, and thereby reduces likelihood of serious collision. There is no banner or sign explaining this; yet, all who obey receive a benefit. Similarly, there is no “new” answer to your question; however, you can gain new understanding where you will consider the following:
(1.) GOD is a spirit that has put forth created beings and living creatures along with the conditions and spheres for their continued existence. The finite tools for their life process do not permit them full comprehension of divinity. Even so, GOD appears, and is known to be active or present through multiple divine operations. Included are such sacred process as atonement, baptism (death of ones inborn nature, rebirth having a new, divine nature), deliverance, forgiveness, governance, judgment, love, perfection (we say, spiritual maturity), salvation, and sanctification.
(2.) GOD can not be known by created beings and living creatures except through peculiar provisions from GOD. Divinity is made up entirely of spirit matter such as faith, holiness, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. These are inseparable aspects of divine being (where one appears, all are present—though not always visible to mankind) along with existence, longsuffering, person, eternal purpose, and sovereign will.
(3.) Just as GOD has used sacred events (we say, miracles such as stopping the flow of the Jordan River), spirit beings (we say, angels), and spiritual visions granted to anointed ones in service as prophets and spokespersons, GOD has appeared using flesh (we say, incarnate) in the figure of Jesus Christ. Through incarnation, GOD is revealed to mankind and becomes approachable. These and other extraordinary divine acts are essential, for salvation must come as a cooperation of flesh and spirit that would otherwise be impossible.
There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, thoroughly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Sin can not be suddenly and totally eliminated without the destruction of divine order, and upheaval throughout the universe. Sin is a nonmaterial, non-spirit influence that opposes the existence of divine law, of the continued existence of GOD as well as of all that GOD has created and maintains. For now, through the ministry of Jesus, the divine commitment to mankind is to be eternally expressed through divinity “in flesh” within heaven, and through believers as a body of Jesus “in spirit” upon the earth.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to the measure of divine faith that resides in you.
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17: 29-30, KJV)
