Today, the believer’s duty to continually express their forgiveness to others as well as to petition and pray that GOD also forgive is in view. Forgiveness is required by divinity for the continuity and stability of covenant, inheritance, rebirth and repentance as well as for proclamation, promise, prophecy and sanctification. Many mistakenly think that once they have accepted an apology, or excused wrongdoing by another they have done everything that forgiveness requires of themselves. However, for Christian believers, forgiveness is to be the appearance and demonstration of divine love. To ask that GOD forgive others is an aspect of providing full genuine care for their cleansing, redemption and salvation as well as fairness, impartiality, and mercy in their judgment. I forgave someone but I just really really really don't want to tell them or face them at all, I don't want any kind of relationship or association with them.

“Anonymous”, a continuing and eternal relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ requires that believers correctly understand the meaning and practice of forgiveness. The effective forgiveness that sinners require must come from divinity, not merely from finite beings like ourselves. Thus, to forgive means intercession on behalf of others, asking sacred action from Christ and the Father. Forgiveness pertains to divine grace, inescapable guilt, and unmerited mercy. We say, “to err is human, to forgive is divine,” and mankind only acquires the divine aspect of forgiveness as we receive the Holy Spirit imparted from GOD. Correctly understood, forgiveness is a matter of ones customary life style, daily living routine, and ongoing life process; forgiveness is not a “one-time” event completed by a few words or a handshake. For mature Christian believers, “to forgive,” demonstrated by the Son of GOD dying upon the cross, is to acknowledge that we ourselves have contributed to any unpleasantness within our own and the life experiences of others; and we are to accept some accountability for the errors, faults, and offenses of others against ourselves. To forgive is to initiate reconciliation. Thus, a believer is to encourage continuing rather than breaking off relationship. All who become hurt within a relationship must display change, commitment, growth, new life, rebirth, repentance, and trust. Consider how some of this appears stated in the language of the Bible:
(1.) Matthew 5: 21-24, King James Version (KJV): 21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
(2.) Matthew 6: 14-15, KJV: 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
(3.) 2nd Corinthians 5: 17-19, KJV: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
There is far more that could be said, must be carefully examined, and spiritually understood. (For example, (4.) For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.) Even so, I am sure this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
