Today, reply is on the response by Joseph to his wicked brothers who had sold him into slavery. Joseph expressed no anger or bitterness, no desire for revenge, and no self-pity as an innocent victim of hatred and malice. Instead of denying them, forcing them to endure imprisonment for more than ten years as he had done, or even refusing to provide food to them and their families, Joseph behaved as their deliverer, and a truly wise ruler. It is written: Genesis 50: 14-21, King James Version (KJV): 14 And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father. 15 And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. 16 And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying, 17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. 18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. 19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. 21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. If you were Joseph and you became a powerful official in Egypt, would you forgive your brothers for selling you to slavery or execute them?

I saw the film Prince of Egypt and was puzzled how Joseph would forgive his brothers after they hurt him so much.

Selling your own sibling to slavery is just unthinkable. I wouldn't be so forgiving, but why was he?

“Annie”, Joseph was an instrument and a living tool used by GOD to provide divine grace. Many mature Christian believers, who practice discernment and the careful recognition of spirit substance appearing within events, themselves, and other persons, willingly acknowledge that Joseph was a prophet and spokesperson prepared and sent by divinity. As the son of Jacob, and heir to Adam, Abraham and Isaac, Joseph demonstrates divine government by Messiah/the Christ; and he serves in multiple sacred roles. Included are that of a judge; a high priest; a primary heir among the tribes of Jacob (who was not determined by law or tradition promoting the firstborn and birth order); a living sacrifice; a savior to the then known world; the father to 2 new tribes in Jacob (Ephraim and Manasseh); and a father to those who left Egypt to form Israel as a new nation under GOD, in place of Pharaoh.

Like those called to be Christian believers, today, Joseph was to display authentic humanity made in the image of GOD; and to resemble, reflect, and reveal the character and likeness of Jesus Christ. In addition to forgiveness for those who have practiced betrayal and transgression of sacred law (we say, sin), Joseph demonstrated mercy in judgment toward those clearly guilty. Moreover, rather than condemn his brothers following the death of Jacob, while they were still mourning their father, Joseph was a source of comfort, healing and lovingkindness. Joseph practiced sacred redemption, and affirmed the device of perpetual covenant between divinity and mankind that appears through family, kinship, and blood relation.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, during the years of famine, the Egyptian people sold their livestock, their land, and themselves as slaves to Pharaoh; the Hebrews continued to acknowledge the dominion of I AM. In all Egypt, earthly inheritance existed only for the Pharaoh. The eternal kingdom of GOD, spiritual inheritance, and sovereign rule through sacred law are contrasted against that of a one world empire having rule generated from the extremes of the flesh (e.g., anger, covetousness, imbalance, pride). Joseph also represents divine grace, the fulfillment of promise, freedom, and manifesting the righteousness within the law, rather than idolatry, poverty, strict obedience, and relying on the letter of the law.) Today, reply to prepare a people for the soon-coming of Christ is on the process of GOD for communicating with mankind, and the silence of divinity in their relationship with mankind on the earth. GOD becomes present in the awareness of the living through revelation; and the living are to grasp that divinity is knowable, known, accessible, and approachable. Communication with divinity goes forward through diverse expressions of spirit substance. Anointed praise, prayer, prophecy, and revelation are primary, rather than academic dialogue, oratory, and public-speaking. “Susie Floozie”, GOD need not speak and otherwise present divinity to human senses, for GOD is active presence who participates in how, what, and who the living are. Since the time of Moses, when GOD spoke to those who left Egypt to declare his covenant law (we say, the 10 Commandments), divinity has maintained an agreement to communicate with mankind using anointed spokespersons (e.g., apostles; joint-heirs with Christ; kings; prophets), rather than speaking with the divine voice. Many speak of Christian belief and placing trust in GOD as a “gamble”, as “taking a leap of faith,” or as a matter of chance and “risk-taking”. Among developing and mature Christian believers, the character, process, and substance of divine fullness (we also say, divinity; the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) are understood to exist as spirit that is invisible and without form, yet, may appear and manifest having personhood, and using flesh and blood (we say, Incarnation) as a vehicle/vessel to communicate and interact with the living. The inseparable aspects of spirit imparted from GOD to indwell mankind include faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. In addition to existence and the life essence imparted to Adam (breath; endowments of spirit from the makeup of GOD; word), divinity has put forth consciousness and self-will as features within created beings and living creatures along with the earth and the heaven as their spheres of life. Continuing acknowledgment and relationship with the Creator are in place through multiple operations such as covenant, praise, proclamation, promise, prophecy, sanctification, resurrection of the dead, unselfish service, and suffering. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Hebrews 11: 6, King James Version (KJV): 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

2. Exodus 20: 18-20, KJV: 18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. 19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. 20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

3. Deuteronomy 18: 15-19, KJV: 15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

AN AFTERTHOUGHT: The “Prophet” Moses proclaimed would be provided to mankind has been manifested on the earth through an appearance of divinity using human form as Jesus Christ. The sacred device of Incarnation permitted the embodiment of divine law and a destruction of sin through crucifixion and the cross as well as operations to make visible the exalted faithfulness, mercy, eternal purpose, and unchanging righteousness of the full Godhead.

Today, reply is on mankind’s inheritance from GOD through Jesus Christ, covetousness, and the Parable of the Rich Fool. While, from the beginning, man was to exist having accountability and ownership over things carnal, material, and social, correct relationship to divinity also was to continue through exchange and interaction of spirit substance imparted from the makeup of GOD. Included were faith, forbearance, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, personhood, wisdom, and wrath against sin. Dominion over the earth, and many of the gifts bestowed on mankind as an offspring of divine fullness (we also say, of divinity; of the Godhead; of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), were lost through human disobedience, distrust and self-will. Mankind has received a fresh endowment of life essence (i.e., breath; spirit; word) imparted from divinity through the ministries of Jesus Christ to replace the sacred inheritance and divine spirit substance lost by Adam through transgression. How understand Luke 12:13-21 " The Parable of the Rich Fool"?

Hi Im Catholic from Poland today in my church ware two readings Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 from Old Testament and Luke 12:13-21 " The Parable of the Rich Fool" from New Testament.

I know that in Catholic Church in my church the are the same readings across the World..

I Attend church regularly but only in recent 5 or 6 years i start to read the Bible, to which priests, (Oblats (OMI) very good priests from my parish encourage parishioners

But i wonder what is about in that Passage someone ask Lord Jesus to ask his brother to share inheritance what is wrong with that?

Do we need to be poor to be good Christians, Catholics, Protestant, Orthodox whatever?

To not ask someone for our money?

“Pawelk 1986”, here are some points you may find useful. The operations of divinity to continue uninterrupted relationship with mankind in spite of death and mortality include dominion, dynasty, family, and inheritance where property and wealth are transferred in accordance with divine order, provisions and sanctions that appear within sacred law. Peace can not be achieved through war, and is only established through covenant agreement, and maintained through lawful judgment to resolve conflicts and settle disputes.

Many believed Jesus of Nazareth was the divine ruler promised from GOD within the holy writings (we say, Messiah); and they turned to Jesus as the son of King David, and heir to the throne of Israel as the United Kingdom, to make lawful judgments to settle their disputes over property as would a reigning king.

Jesus not only refused to be crowned as king or be officially recognized as a political figure, he presented himself as a rabbi, teacher, and spokesperson from divinity whose work was to fulfill proclamations, promises, and prophesies from GOD, and to prepare those who would be in a new covenant relationship where giving to GOD and receiving from GOD would be permanently changed for those granted gifts and outpourings of the Holy Spirit.

Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. James 4: 13-17, King James Version (KJV): 13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Today, focus is on the account of GOD commanding Abraham to send away his wife Hagar and his son, Ishmael.  Correctly understood, the holy writings focus upon the revelation of divinity through Jesus Christ, and transformation of the earth and all mankind to exist eternally as a new creation, and are not focused upon Arabs, Jews, Isaac, and Ishmael; upon current events and present-day conflicts being reported by the media; or upon the many accounts recorded as secular history.   For Christian believers the active presence of divinity must come into view.  Years before the child Isaac was born and alive upon the earth, GOD declared he would be an instrument for the fulfillment of divine promise and prophecy.  Contrary to the custom of men, the firstborn would not be Abraham’s heir.  In keeping with the divine practice and principle, “the elder shall serve the younger,” the second son would be chosen and promoted as the successor of Abraham.  Many sacred events and divine operations are recorded among the accounts of Abraham that further reveal the authority, forbearance, longsuffering, and righteousness of GOD.  Despite living as a nomad, and not being associated with any single nation or place upon the earth, Abraham is distinguished for being called “the Friend of GOD.”  Abraham was a finite being  upon the earth who maintained a covenant relationship with the Almighty through obedience, priesthood, sanctification, and good works (e.g., building altars; digging wells; leading worship for a  family and household servants that may have numbered in thousands).  The writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Katie” (Level 5 with 5,179 points, a member since June 14, 2013) posted the following:

Christians (and, I assume, Jews): Why in the WORLD did God basically tell Abraham to kick out Ishmael and his mom?

My dad (who is a Christian) says that the reason Arabs hate Jews is because Abraham kicked out Ishmael and his mom. According to my dad, Abraham's wife wanted him to do that. Abraham asked God what he should do and God told him to listen to his wife. Why did God say that? He's GOD, so he must have known what it would eventually lead to.

“Katie”, all the accounts of Abraham (the “Friend of GOD”) that appear in the holy writings are intended as further revelation to make the Creator knowable and known to created beings and living creatures.  The denial of Hagar and her son are to be understood as in agreement with specific eternal purposes of GOD before Creation; with the priesthood, proclamations, promises and prophecies established for Adam and continued by the Patriarchs; with the revelation of divinity that includes Deity appearing in flesh as the man, Jesus Christ; and with multiple devices and principles (e.g., birth-order, covenant, dynasty, inheritance) provided by eternal, immutable GOD to be in uninterrupted relationships with men on the earth who are subject to death.  The marriage of Abraham and Sarah was in accordance with divine operations, sacred purposes, and the will of GOD, where the marriage to Hagar was in accordance with desires of the flesh, disbelief, lack of faith in GOD, lack of patience and presumption (i.e., exercising authority without lawful permission; stealing and taking control) through human self-will.  As an Egyptian, Hagar represents spiritual confusion; and the circumcision of her son that established him as having status with GOD along with Abraham his father would always be opposed by his mother being outside of the divine covenant.  Abraham was also required to “give up” his second son Isaac as a sacrifice upon the altar, and was answered by GOD for his demonstration of faith that proclaimed the divine power of resurrection.  Consider again how some of this is stated using language from the Bible:

(1.)  Hebrews 11:  17-19, King James Version (KJV):  17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac:  and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,  18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:  19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

(2.)  Galatians 3:  16-19, KJV:  16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.  17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.  18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise:  but God gave it to Abraham by promise.  19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

(3.)  Galatians 3:  21-24, KJV:  21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid:  for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.  22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.  23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.  24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

(4.)  Romans 4:  13-18, KJV:  13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.  14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:  15 Because the law worketh wrath:  for where no law is, there is no transgression.  16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,  17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.  18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Accepting biblical truth is the topic, today, and there is more on why GOD is concerned for humankind. The “Yahoo! Answers“ writer using ID “?” (Level 3 with 2,140 points, a member since August 17, 2012) posted the following:


How am I supposed to accept this in the Bible?

The Bible says that God eternally punishes those who do not believe him.*
Some will say, “no, it’s the devil punishing, not God. “
However, that is untrue.

In Revelations, it clearly states that God will destroy Hell.**

Yet, even after he destroys Hell, he just throws it and everyone in it into another place called the Lake of Fire.***

When I first heard this, I thought that maybe the Lake of Fire was like a place where it destroys your soul, because it’s the “second death,” therefor, you would be at peace and not in torment anymore.
But if you actually read the whole chapter, the Lake of Fire is no different from Hell. It is, again, a place of eternal torment and punishment.****

 
I cannot understand how God, not Satan, because God has also destroyed Satan at this point, would willingly punish people eternally simply for not believing in him.
That’s just screwed up I can find no excuse for it.

You (and all other created beings and living creatures) are supposed to accept it as a demonstration of the righteousness of GOD, by putting away your exaggerated ideas of your own importance, and acknowledging the Divine Person with humility and respect. You must challenge your apparent assumption that there is innocence for all others (like your own), such that none are now, or ever will be, deserving of severe punishment and termination of their existence. Although you may be a man of peace, had you, today, an enemy repeatedly attacking your family and home behind your back, contrary to all law enforcement efforts, deceiving, lying, violating every agreement from meetings to reason together, etc., etc., etc. you might well seek to save the lives of loved ones by trying to physically end all threat, and “removing the possibility for further dispute.”

It is the work of sin to deny, destroy and undo divine law, the integrity of created beings and living creatures, and the existence of Divine Person. Thus, it is also the work of the Creator to eliminate sin, recover all that have been tainted by sin, and establish the truth that sin will never rise again within the universe of GOD. Sacred operations on a divine scale must come into view. Included are birth, death, Incarnation, impartial yet thorough judgment, rebirth, repentance, resurrection, and sanctification.

(For example, through the ministry of Jesus Christ, believers are granted a “divine point of view,” so to speak, with insights regarding sacred purposes. A ram was discovered entangled among thorn bushes, and served as a substitute provided by GOD to replace the living boy. Given his position as heir to the priesthood and the promises from GOD bestowed upon Abraham, the obedience and submission by Isaac (the son) may be seen having as great significance as that of Abraham (the father), who is called “the Friend of GOD” (see James 2: 23 and 4: 4, KJV). Intimate knowledge and relationship to GOD are through faith, a totally divine substance residing in the fullness of the Divine Person. Faith is inseparable from such other aspects of divinity as holiness, joy, love, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin. While believers receive necessary increases of faith through the imparted, indwelling Spirit, they only come into consistency and mature understanding by practice, repetition, and self-regimen over the course of time. Many sacred experiences and years of spiritual growth may be required before one routinely operates with faith having the focus and power seen through Abraham and Isaac. The apostles who were chosen as witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus all had lived with him on a daily basis, had been eyewitness of his ministry and miracles, and received the Comforter at Pentecost. Those simple men could work as church-builders, preachers and teachers because they had gone through intimate experience to impart and nourish faith. Now, a spirit from GOD that always has been a part of created beings and living creatures, that would occasionally visit and leave selected persons, has become an abiding presence that will remain in all believers. Therefore there is trust.

      Sharing a “factual” report that describes another person’s behavior is not automatically an attack upon their character and reputation that would encourage listeners to deny cooperation, opportunities, privileges or respect to the person who has been spoken about. Also, requesting ideas and alternative responses from others is not the same as soliciting judgment. Even so, because we realize that what we say, and how we say it (using facial expression, gestures, body language and movement), are easily misinterpreted, taken out of context, and applied beyond the limited scope of a speaker’s intent, we “silently” agree to be careful, and restrict our speech. The lines among hints, insinuation, “unfounded accusations,” persuasion, and false witness are subtle (i.e., barely detectable; nearly invisible).

      Where the name “Satan” is held to mean “adversary”, the word “devil” is defined as “one who slanders.” To slander is to “bad mouth” someone in their absence (we say talk about them “behind their back”), and is called “character assassination,” gossip, “muckraking,” “murmuring,” “digging up dirt” and “whispering.” Given the intent and purpose of such behavior is to damage and hurt another, those who practice slander are accounted as servants to Satan. As such, they are the source of deceit, lies, and misinformation. While they promote their thrusts against another as righteous indignation and divinely directed judgment, unrighteousness characterizes their effort. Almighty GOD goes so far as to raise the wicked dead that they may respond to their only accuser in judgment, the record of their own behavior and deeds. (Satan, the accuser of the brethren, already will have been cast into the lake of fire, the second death.)

(For example, the person we would gossip about is the person we should pray will receive life-changing benefit from GOD. Believers should never speak about another person what they won’t speak to them face-to-face. The same discipline, tact, and skill they would use to avoid making someone angry, combative, insulted and provoked when speaking to them in private is to be used when speaking about them in public. Saying this another way, what you may not say when praying to GOD requesting that another person have benefit—that is, when showing love—is better left out of mind, and unspoken.) THE BATTLE AXE:  The Common Danger (01/02/2013)—While events, their connections and consequences may be easily known and documented, the spiritual content and nature of occurrences are essentially hidden and invisible to all created beings and living creatures.  Through deposits of divinity imparted from GOD as the indwelling Spirit (called the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Prophecy), the living acquire discernment that allows correct recognition of spiritual substance within oneself and others as well as ability to accurately perceive the divine value of various goals, intent, motives and purposes.  Although we may speak of sin and wickedness as “common danger,” those reborn in Christ are encouraged to “be careful for nothing” (i.e., do not be anxious; do not worry), yet to continue in prayer and supplication.  The total eradication of sin comes by what GOD will do in authority and majesty over the universe.  The simple efforts of the created are accepted as acknowledgment, confession of need, and petition for deliverance that locate believers within the divine order as those being in harmony with the preordained, and continuing acts of Almighty GOD.  This is a single truth that none may gainsay, in heaven or earth, and that goes forth to all, to both believers and unbelievers, mockers and steadfast saints.

     Taking your question to be “what should we take this to mean”, rather than “how can GOD be able to proclaim or speak…?”, for a mature Christian understanding, the divine operations of prophecy and Incarnation must both come into view.

     David appears as a “type” and a figure representing peculiar themes that appear throughout the holy writings.  More than simply a warrior-king, David is anointed as judge, priest, and prophet.  He provides the psalms and hymns that are the liturgy for worship in the Tabernacle (later the Temple) as well as the administrative structure and schedules (called “courses”) for rotations of service by the priests.

     The promise from GOD that David’s house would be established is a promise of unending dynasty only through the eternal sovereignty whereby Almighty GOD continues as King over Israel.  Solomon was taken to be the fulfillment of GOD’s commitment, however no eternal kingdom or permanent rule emerged; and the Unified Kingdom ended with David’s grandson, Rehoboam (see 2 Samuel 7:  8-16, Daniel 2:  44, 1st Kings 3:  6, Matthew 25:  34, John 18:  36, KJV).  Until his assumption of carnal being and flesh, and appearing among mankind as Jesus Christ (called “Incarnation”), Almighty GOD was known as person and spirit, without form that can be discerned or recognized except through the objects put forth as Creation, by prophecy, and through revelation.

Did Jesus 'ascend' into heaven 'physically'?

Because I thought heaven was NOT 'up' but in a completely different dimension.

More than this, Jesus is again generated from Spirit, “born again” as the planting and seed of GOD, restored in resurrection, under the law, yet, not through human methods of husbandry.       Understanding the things of GOD provided by the ministries of Jesus Christ (upon the earth, and from heaven) requires a broad awareness of spiritual reality that begins in the fact that GOD is a spirit; and we—though created beings and living creatures bearing flesh and blood—must worship him relying upon our own inner spirit, and our human disciplines for sharing truth (see John 4: 19-26, King James Version). Among mankind, the divine spirit uses devices and demonstrations that can be recognized and understood as aspects and details of a comprehensive truth. Together, various visible features describe godly provisions, divine processes, and otherwise unseen sacred purpose. Included are incarnation, birth, anointing, sanctification, death, resurrection, judgment, salvation, and eternal life.

      Everyone who comes to Christ begins with a measure of disbelief that blocks, and interferes with the operation of the imparted Spirit from GOD that must abide within the believer as their guide and teacher. Study of the holy writings that document the action and presence of GOD among men, nourishes and strengthens the human spirit; and redirects emotional and mental energies away from fantasy and imagination. Old ideas about what is possible or impossible are gradually altered, and the ability to recognize the many aspects of divinity in the earth (i.e., true spiritual discernment) is established. This was true for all those whom Jesus called as his apostles, and continues to be true unto this day.

      Mature Christian believers stand firm in the truth that GOD did appear in human form as Jesus of Nazareth to fulfill divine promises and complete sovereign works that were begun in the Creation. Jesus demonstrated authority over both the natural and spirit world through miracles that included exorcism, feeding, healing, and raising the dead. More than this, Jesus demonstrated and embodied the righteousness contained in divine law as well as the godly wisdom requisite for divine judgment.

      The title of “firstborn” (from GOD) is higher than that for “king” because it proclaims the bearer an heir of GOD. As a social process and expression of flesh, birth order determines the heir through custom and tradition. As a divine process and expression of spirit, the duties and privileges of the heir are obtained by anointing and divine appointment, faith, grace, sacred law, divine prerogative, and sovereign authority.

      Many accounts recorded in the Bible portray the principle that the elder shall serve the younger; that twins are distinguished for sacred service before their birth and throughout their lifetime; and acquiring the blessing as heir to the ministry from heaven that was given to Adam is determined by GOD. Cain and Abel, Esau and Jacob, Reuben and Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh, and the promotion of Judah above Levi all display the operation of GOD to establish salvation in the earth. A similar operation is seen in miraculous births by women known to be barren, elderly, and already experiencing menopause (consider Samson, Samuel, John the Baptist), as well as the birth of Jesus through a virgin.
