(02/28/2014) Behold What Manner of Love

A Scripture study on divine love is shared, today, with the focus upon sacred actions and deeds, rather than carnal affection, feeling, and passion.  For GOD, and those who are his children by faith, love appears through divinity allocating and distributing abundance, authority, and duty as well as continuing divine operations that include absolution, anointing, atonement, correction, forbearance, forgiveness, harvest, healing, incarnation, judgment, longsuffering, promise, prophecy, protection, repentance, revelation, sacrifice, and sanctification.  Divine love is inseparable from wrath against sin, and thereby, wrath is also an expression of divine love.

SOME THOUGHTS ON

18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.  (1st John 3:  18-19, KJV)

Genesis 1:  26-28 (KJV)  26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:  18-25 (KJV)  18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.  19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them:  and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.  20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept:  and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;  22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh:  she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:  and they shall be one flesh.  25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Genesis 3:  21-24 (KJV)  21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.  22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:  and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Deuteronomy 4:  26-31 (KJV)  26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.  27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.  28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.  29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.  30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;  31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Proverbs 27:  4-6 (KJV)  4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?  5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.  6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Psalms 141:  5 (KJV)  5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness:  and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head:  for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

Micah 6:  8  (KJV)  8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Zephaniah 3:  17 (KJV)  17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Romans 8:  38-39 (KJV) 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1st Corinthians 8:  3 (KJV)  3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

2nd Timothy 1:  7-9 (KJV)  7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:  but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;  9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

1st John 3:  1-3 (KJV)  3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:  therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1st John 4:  6-8 (KJV)  6 We are of God:  he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.  Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.  7 Beloved, let us love one another:  for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1st John 5:  1-3 (KJV)  1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God:  and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.  2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.  3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:  and his commandments are not grievous.

Hebrews 12:  6-11 (KJV)  6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.  7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.  9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence:  shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?  10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.  11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:  nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood.  Again, readers are welcomed to add any verse or passage from Scripture that they would like to share in the comments area (see below).  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the workings of the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth, and the Testimony of Jesus in you.  Grow in grace.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  (1st John 1:  5, KJV)

(02/27/2014) In Earthen Vessels

Today, there is more on discernment, and recognizing divine wrath.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Recognizing Divine Wrath (02/26/2014)—It is the process of GOD to use events, flesh, interaction, and relationships among mankind to make visible divine intent and eternal purpose. GOD is using flesh and material substance to make Spirit visible where divinity otherwise could not be known.  For many, judgment against sin and divine wrath are only recognized when appearing as plagues (we say, the punishment of Egypt), or evil (i.e., calamity, disaster, upheaval, violence).  Disfavor with GOD also appears as drought, epidemic disease, hardness of heart, hail, indecisiveness, spiritual confusion, and widespread unbelief.  Death and the completion of mortality are now aspects of the life process for mankind within the earth; and so are understood as features of the material and natural world.  Where the carnal mind (we say, flesh) and sin dominates awareness and self-will the features of appetite, fear, and pain are exalted as the mechanisms of divine control and power.  The rule of GOD that is by love and the force of truth is mistakenly thought to depend upon gifts (we say, bribes) and bullying (we say, the sword and warfare).  See Deuteronomy 29:  58-63, Psalms 9:  16-20, Zechariah 14:  17-19 and James 4:  1-3, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.  For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.  (2nd Corinthians 4:  1-11, KJV)

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(02/26/2014) Recognizing Divine Wrath?

Today, points are shared on discernment, receiving one sent, and “seeing” things invisible.  Also, there is more on divine knowledge and omniscience.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Artemis” (Level 7 with 39,362 points, a member since November 02, 2011) posted the following originally asked on Yahoo Answers Canada:

Why do people believe in what Paul/Saul wrote? God's wrath comes in the form of lust for your own gender?

Paul the Apostle, (Saul of Tarsus) was a Hebrew turned missionary who evangelized the gospel of Christ to the first-century world around 55 AD (many years after Jesus died). At first he zealously persecuted the early followers of Jesus of Nazareth and violently tried to destroy the newly forming Christian church – until he realized that he could gain more influence and power by jumping on the Christianity gravy train.

It is said that Paul's dramatic conversion happened when he "saw" the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus – probably one of his hallucinations during epilepsy seizures. Paul's letters DO NOT REFER directly to this experience on the Damascus road. In Galatians, he writes that God "was pleased to reveal his son to me" and in 1 Corinthians, "last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also".

Thereafter, Paul traveled all over neighboring territories evangelizing and proselytizing Christianity. He wrote Epistles (i.e. letters) to Romans, Corinthians, Galatians etc. making up and detailing all the EVILS THAT WILL BE BROUGHT UPON THEM BY THE WRATH OF GOD, IF THEY DID NOT CONVERT to Christianity. These epistles were then collated to form the new testament.

13 of the 27 books in the New Testament are attributed to Paul, and about half of the Acts of the Apostles deals with Paul's life and works. Only seven of the epistles can be accepted as being entirely authentic. The other 6 are believed to have come from followers writing in his name.

Romans 1:25: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men… Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator …God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly…..”

Isn't this just to scare people - god's wrath will fall upon people who refuse to worship him - and this wrath will be in the form of lust for the same gender? How does that make sense?

Why do people believe in Paul/Saul?

THE BATTLE AXE:  The You GOD “Knows” (02/25/2014)—(5.)  The omniscience of GOD pertains to the various eternal operations and purposes whereby cosmic and divine order are maintained.  GOD knows you as he intends that you will be:  Sanctified (i.e., cleansed and set apart for divine service); alert; alive; confident; dutiful; gentle; faithful; forgiving; kind; healthy and nourished in body, mind and spirit; endowed with godly power; merciful; respectful; reverent; righteous; and wise.  Through the operations of sin, there are now many possibilities for spiritual confusion, corruption, destruction, and disunity.  Apart from GOD, created beings and living creatures do not become aware of, or achieve all the possibilities for the excellence of their own being.  The provisions from GOD that enable resistance to sin, yet do not totally eliminate sin, include baptism (spiritual death, and rebirth having divine DNA), sacred law, praise, prayer, the practice of sacraments, and the imparted, indwelling Spirit.  Believers in Jesus as their Redeemer and Savior are cautioned against seeking a “whore’s reward,” rather than continuing to prepare for the full measure of immortality and incorruptibility they will receive at his glorious Advent.  All that glitters is not gold, so to speak; and those expecting only amusement, hilarity, and an episode of pleasure are often given instead disease, lasting shame, humiliation, and death.  We were not created to be anchored and weighed down with blasphemy, defiance, ignorance, and the worship of false gods.  Yet, many are mired in, and struggling against these and many other “quicksands” of sin.  Having no part with GOD and Christ, those whose names do not appear in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be those that GOD does not “know”.  They will be cast into the lake of fire (the second death) as though they never existed.  See Matthew:  7:  24-27, 1st Corinthians 3:  9-23, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect:  yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  Which none of the princes of this world knew:  for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:  for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto him:  neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.  (1st Corinthians 2:  6-23, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Continuously Tested (12/31/2013); Chosen To Serve As Prophets (01/01/2014); Lawful Revenge? (01/02/2014); GOD Angry With Us? (12/08/2013); So We Could Have Life? (01/14/2013); No Contradictions? (01/15/2013); A Need to Fear? (12/02/2012); On Seeing Jesus Serve the Poor (12/03/2012)

“Artemis”, here are a few points to consider from Christian belief that have helped many recognize and escape from spiritual confusion:

(1.)  Believers are commanded to continually practice and apply discernment.  We are to use the spirit content we have within ourselves, and within the things given from GOD (e.g., events, praise, prayers, the holy writings) to correctly examine, and successfully recognize other things that will come to us as genuine sacred knowledge, prophecy, revelation, truth, and wisdom.  This is specially important for receiving divine spokespersons (we say, prophets), miracles (we say, sacred events) along with incarnations and visitations (we say, those who are sent as was Jesus, whom many among the priests and Levites denied).

(2.)  GOD is a spirit who has put forth the aspects of his own makeup as the life and existence of all created beings and living creatures.  Despite their operations through intellect, logic, reason, and science, awareness and comprehension are limited for all the many life forms of heaven and earth.  Apart from the provisions of GOD, many aspects of their own nature, substance and potential remain hidden from their own finite mind.  More than this, the details and dynamics of divine operations, sacred process and eternal purpose are invisible to any spirit not infused with divinity.  Among those on the earth, only those born again are able to grasp the unseen presence of GOD displayed in such features as consecration, faith, glory, holiness, divine love, mercy, righteousness, sovereignty, and wrath against sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  In the words of an old-time spiritual song, “Everybody talkin’ ’bout heaven ain’t goin’ there…”  Believers trust that what we know—and that we know—are by multiple operations of GOD.  Rightly applied, scholarship and study may focus analysis, criticism, and other tools of mankind upon the “stuff” of mankind.  Only spirit matter through endowments from the ministry of Jesus Christ may be used to achieve clear and inarguable truth from GOD.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified:  but he that judgeth me is the Lord.  (1st Corinthians 4:  4, KJV)

(02/25/2014) The You GOD “Knows”

Response is made to a crude and insulting question on the omniscience of GOD.  Also, there is more on the 7 “godly” sins.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Methoozelah” (Level 1 with 89 points, a member since February 24, 2014) posted the following originally asked on Yahoo Answers Canada:

OK Christians! So because you think God/Jesus is omnipotent, you're telling me he knows everything about me?

Seriously???? He knows what breath smells like in the morning after I've had a night of heavy smoking and pepperoni pizza and beer and gone to bed without brushing???

He knows what my urine taste like first thing in the morning while I'm still hungover? He knows what my sperm tastes like too???

Seriously??? Omniscience isn't all its cracked up to be is it?

THE BATTLE AXE:  7 “Godly” Sins (02/24/2014)—(5.)  One of the greatest errors for those outside of the salvation of GOD through Jesus Christ is the notion that Almighty GOD, the Father, has created, and is directly responsible for all things that exist as challenges, harsh conditions, injustice, limits, problems, threats against, and weaknesses in all created beings and living creatures.  Such deny having any accountability, or inborn capacity to correctly exercise their own self-will.  In their view, GOD is at fault, and is to be blamed for not sharing authority, freedom, knowledge, perfection, power, and rule.  Those who insist upon complaining and murmuring against GOD continue on a path marked as “blasphemy,” and stamped as sin that can be regretted in carnal, emotional, and social terms.   However, they render a sinner eternally void of the Holy Spirit from GOD, and thus can have no repentance.  Among angels and among men, there are many who strut in pride thinking they have made them selves exalted and prominent before GOD by the operations of their own will.  Sadly, these show their content and substance to be that worthy of divine condemnation, perdition, and removal from the sacred awareness of all living.  See Job 21:  22, Psalms 75:  6-8, Matthew 7:  21-23, Matthew 18:  7-9, Matthew 12:  31-32, Romans 2:  1-11, Romans 3:  3-8, Colossians 1:  9-23, Hebrews 2:  5-18, James 4:  1-12 and Revelation 21:  7-8, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:  it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace:  the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.  (Isaiah 55:  6-12, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  All Things Possible? (09/17/2013); Can One Escape? (09/18/2013); GOD Knows Tomorrow? (04/12/2013); Able to Become Gods? (01/11/2013); Why Christians Pray For Others (01/12/2014); Before the Fruit? (11/10/2012); Why "Mysterious" (11/11/2012); Sin Unknown? (10/10/2012); When Prayer Works (10/11/2012)

“Methoozelah”, because you’ve posted many questions of this kind, and demonstrated a desperate need for a godly reply, here are a few points that come from the knowledge and wisdom of GOD that are usually only shared among Christian believers:

(1.)  Carnal Knowledge.  Carnal knowledge is a lower level of awareness that fits to being formed in flesh (saying it another way:  that derives from ones animal nature, and from self-awareness as finite.)  Consciousness of those in flesh is dominated by mechanical and physiological processes (i.e., how the body works) generated through appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, craving for sexual contact), sensation (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching) and emotional or mental functioning (e.g., desire, fantasy, fear, forgetting, imagination, recall, thought).

(2.)  GOD is Spirit.  GOD is a spirit (we may say, divinity) who has put forth diverse created beings and living creatures as well as the environment and material sphere of their existence.  The entire universe is made from substance emanated from divine being as breath and utterance (we say, word).  GOD is eternal and unchanging; therefore, there is no corruption, decay or uncleanness in GOD as appears within angelic beings and mankind through sin.

(3.)  Operations of GOD.  Just as all things that exist have dimension and presence (i.e., are measurable in space), yet do not have life, person, and self-will, all things do not exist as sentient (capable of verbal communication, reason and thought).  Intellect is determined by multiple operations of GOD including birth, death, forgiveness healing, judgment, revelation, and sanctification.  Similarly, it is by sovereign power that GOD continues to exist without material form, yet, is incarnate (in flesh) through Jesus Christ.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.)  The You GOD “Knows”.  GOD only contemplates and dwells upon who we are to be once perfected.  Filth and ugliness are not in the heart and mind of GOD; and there is no continuing divine consciousness of all the guilt and shame that may be rightly ours.  Within the conscience and mind of the living, outside of GOD, are the place for despair that comes by negative feelings and thoughts.  Thus, many of us are walking rubbish bins, containing things cast away and rejected of GOD.  The Book of Life that will be used in final judgment is the primary “memory bank” and record of our actual living attitudes, behavior and conduct; and what is written  there we must give account for and explain.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.  (Jeremiah 29:  11-13, KJV)

(02/24/2014) 7 “Godly” Sins?

Divine law, sacred authority, sin and the GODhead are among the topics, today.  Also, there is more on the Sabbath.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Brett”  (Level 1 with 180 points, a member since December 25, 2013) posted the following:

Why is God allowed to be above his own law?

THE BATTLE AXE:  To Keep It Holy (02/23/2014)—(5.)  The Sabbath is an event that occurs within spirit, rather than an event that occurs within the framework of time.  The temporal cycles known to mankind are all marked by recurring changes of the moon and the sun (e.g., harvest, planting, days, months, years, the rainy season).  Additionally, continual observance of the Sabbath is a condition for lawful covenant, and an act of covenant-keeping.  The Sabbath is marked primarily by the spirit of worship, and is carnally recognized through light and darkness even on days with rain or snow (i.e., when the sun does not shine, and the stars do not come out).  In spite of being finite, mortal, and dependent upon frameworks of time and space, mankind is further endowed through the Sabbath to have continuous relationship with GOD who is eternal.  The keeping of Sabbath may be an act of faith or an act of obedience, yet, full participation in Sabbath is more than a simple “good work,” or a work of the flesh.  See Exodus 20:  9-11, Exodus 31:  15-17, Isaiah 56:  1-7 and Isaiah 58:  6-14, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Blessed is the man that endureth temptation:  for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:  for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin:  and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.  Do not err, my beloved brethren.  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:  For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  (James 1:  12-22, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Immortality (02/08/2014); The Male, the Female, and GOD (02/09/2014); Sin Causes Death? (02/04/2014); The Fullness of GODhead? (01/09/2014); World Without End? (01/10/2014); We Are Still Sinning? (11/30/2013); Like a Thief? (12/01/2013); Angels, Law and Sin (10/18/2013)

“Brett”, where you are adult enough and strong enough to receive it, here are a few points to consider that are repeatedly overlooked and rejected by atheists, fools, and those harboring an antichrist spirit; however, Christian believers have found them very meaningful:

(1.)  Divine Law.  GOD is a spirit who has put forth all created beings and living creatures as well as their environment and sphere of existence.  Awareness, intellect, eternal purpose, and sovereign-will are inseparable aspects of full divinity.  Therefore, sacred law conveys and expresses the makeup and substance of GOD.  Included are faith, forgiveness, gratitude, holiness, humility, joy, longsuffering, love, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(2.)  Divine Sovereignty.  The authority of GOD binds (we say, gives cohesion) and maintains the universe as an emanation of divine substance.  Given that GOD is the source of all that exists, all Creation continues as an object to the Almighty, is subservient (we say, beneath GOD), and is totally dependent.  Sentient creatures (those having awareness and self-will) interact with and respond to GOD in such a way that intimate relationship to GOD is possible.  However, such intimacy depends upon peculiar operations of GOD such as atonement, baptism, birth, death, election, incarnation, judgment, rebirth, resurrection, revelation, and sanctification.

(3.)  Condemning GOD.  Among believers, it is usually pride that makes an issue of authority, rather than zeal to finish ones job quickly and smoothly (we say, well done).  It is usually hate that makes an issue of divine love, rather than appreciation and respect.  Sin opposes the continued existence of sacred law, of divinity, and of all things created.  Sin is not a divine substance, or anything that can be detected simply using things of the flesh (e.g., appetite, sensation, mental functions).  Sin may alter and dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures.  However, sin does not influence divine will.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. ( For example, (4.)  Limits Upon GOD.  GOD does acknowledge demands  that exist as aspects of being and interaction for the full process of GODhead (we say, of his own inner being); and the Almighty actively maintains the integrity of all divine utterance (we say, out-breathing, outpouring of his holy spirit, the word of GOD).  In this sense, GOD is “allowed” to act above all because there is agreement, oneness, and unity that goes beyond, resides in, and transcends all.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.  (Proverbs 14:  22, KJV)

(02/23/2014) To Keep It Holy

Holiness, rest, the GODhead, and the Sabbath are topics today.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Waldoh Salido” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since February 22, 2014) posted the following:

Remember the Sabbath day to kep it HOLY?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.  And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.  And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:  because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.  (Genesis 2:  1-3, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  About Sabbath (10/16/2013); We Shall Behold Him (10/17/2013); Bible Authors and Truth? (06/19/2013); Newness of Spirit? (01/04/2013); Two Different Testaments? (01/05/2013)

“Waldoh Salido”, here are a few points intended for Christian believers:

(1.)  GOD is a spirit who has generated created beings and living creatures as well as the environments and material spheres for their continued existence.  Holiness is an aspect of full divine substance, and is inseparable from other sacred content such as faith, joy, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  (So to speak, you can’t separate the wet from the water.)

(2.)  The Sabbath is made holy by the presence of eternal GODhead.  For this reason, the Sabbath should be understood as more than a temporal artifact, and a measurable period of time.  We may say, the Sabbath is an incarnation of the GODhead.

(3.)  While the Sabbath is spoken of as a memorial of Creation, more correctly, the Sabbath is an unbroken, uninterrupted acknowledgement and celebration of Creation begun after the Crown of Creation was set, the female aspect of Adam.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The Sabbath pertains to divine rest and may be thought of as an act of Creation wherein renewal and replenishment are first established.  Also, Sabbath is to be regarded as communion, yet, is not the same experience as granted through the Lord’s Supper.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.  (1st Thessalonians 2:  4, KJV)

(02/22/2014) The 2nd Prayer Death

Four additional points are shared, today, on faith healing and “prayer death.”

THE BATTLE AXE:  “Prayer Death”? (02/21/2014)—(6.)  Agents not Caretakers.  The notion that adults are caretakers and property managers over minor children very often prevails above the idea that adults are agents to carry out and express a child’s needs, the child’s desires, the child’s integrity of person, and the child’s will.  Many Christian believers continue to operate with the understanding that minor children have no value as sentient beings in communion with GOD, and are only an expense and a liability that make no contribution to the prosperity or survival of communities, of their own families, or of the communities of faith.  More than this, they are accounted as “expendable”.  The Scriptures declare that children are the heritage of the Lord—a treasure and wealth that belongs to GOD.  Yet, many regard children as dependent and unable to make sound choices and decisions on their own behalf, or the behalf of others.  The subtle and widespread error therefore persists that children are human property of their parents, and may be destroyed, manipulated, promoted, or replaced in accordance with the emotional, psychological or spiritual expression of the adults who conceive them.  Parents absolutely must know and accept that their children are not their own, and their duty is to assist the child in developing after the divine will.  See Luke 1:  13-16 and 39-47, Jeremiah 1:  5-10, KJV.  (7.)  Adult Responsibility.  The duty of every adult believer is to behave in the most balanced, complete, mature, stable manner to nourish divinity and godliness in their children at all times.  While it is natural for children to refuse medical assistance because of fear, separation involved, uncertainty and weakness; the same can be unnatural for adults.  At the least it may be adult ignorance, immaturity and insensitivity, when parents fail to acknowledge that the bodies and minds of children do not function, and cannot be maintained in the same manner as for those who are full grown.  At its worst, it is arrogance, covetousness, criminal malice, “playing GOD,” and presumption.  Even though the Scriptures record that Elijah the Tishbite was miraculously delivered by GOD when Queen Jezebel swore to kill him; we are not to seek the same miracle to set food on our tables in our own homes, and for our own families.  GOD commanded the prophet to hide by the brook Cherith, to drink of its waters, and that GOD would command the ravens to feed him there.  See 1st Kings 17:  1-6, KJV.  (8.)  Redemption.  For many Christian believers, commitment to GOD through Jesus Christ requires a conscious decision to prayerfully and quietly bear suffering.  Adults routinely make similar knowing and willing choices (we may say, sacrifice) when challenged by duties and opportunities such as childbearing, homemaking, marriage, and military service.  Children are thought capable of only animal behavior, to operate in terms of appetite, emotion and instinct, rather than intellect, logic and reason.  All things dedicated and devoted to GOD, including children, may only  be conveyed and transferred into the divine presence (we say, heaven) by their presentation, slaying, and burning upon a holy altar.  Otherwise, they achieve status and acceptance by payment of a redemption price.  For the tribes of Jacob that left Egypt following Moses, the entire tribe of Levi became the redemption payment to GOD.  Later, Christ would come for salvation and redemption of all by a new covenant.  Even so, those who are redeemed continue as promised to GOD, and must serve as living sacrifices.  See Genesis 22:  1-3, Numbers 8:  17-19, Deuteronomy 18:  1, 1st Samuel 1:  21-28, Luke 2:  39-50 and Romans 12:  1-3, KJV.  (9.)  About Doctors and Medications.  Lacking meekness (i.e., willingness to be instructed and led by the holy writings and the imparted, indwelling Spirit), many will insist on their own way displaying the attitude that says, “you can’t teach me nothing; I’m right when I’m wrong, because….”  Yet, the Bible reports the use of balms, herbs, ointments, salt, spices, and even wine for treating injuries, maladies, sickness, and wounds.  Hezekiah was king of Judah when the word of the Lord came to him, that he would die of his sickness, despite the divine provision of physicians and other counselors.  The king was given a second prophecy that he would live another fifteen years, after obeying the prophet’s counsel to apply a poultice of figs.  Men are healed routinely by GOD through purging (we say, inner cleansing), proper diet, and rest.  Healing may occur naturally over time.  Divine intervention is rarely required given that sickness appears in known patterns that respond to familiar remedies.  While children are often more resilient than adults, and may bounce back from illness and fight off disease, they usually do not maintain careful regimens of hygiene, and are continually exposed to unseen germs and uncleanness.  It is no more a lack of faith to call for the service of those who have made careful study of disease and its cure, and are trained to assist adults and children, than it is a lack of faith to call a skilled mechanic to repair ones automobile.  When divine intervention is made, frequently it will come through agents appointed by GOD; and the healing will turn on rightly receiving them as having been sent by GOD.  Unfortunately, the account of a woman healed when she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment tends to convince many that doctors are dangerous and unreliable.  Jesus is cast in the mold of a country rabbi, a stranger seeking reputation as a doctor and theologian in Jerusalem.  Thinking like thieves, those weak in faith usually conclude that all physicians (and reverend doctors) are sent by the devil, are greedy, are grasping, are impersonal, are indifferent, and will exploit a person’s illness for money.  In pride, such believers assert that only they themselves are an acceptable provision from GOD.  These are as unlikely to accomplish healing for themselves of others as those who feel that sickness is divine punishment that must be accepted, or that fellow at the pool of Bethesda, drowning in self-pity, and awaiting the troubling of the waters, rather than the coming of Christ, the One Sent.  Their error is both that they condemn those truly appointed to heal, and they trust in prophets to heal who have not been sent for that purpose.  See 2nd Kings 2:  21, 2nd Kings 20:  5-7, Isaiah 1:  5-6, Jeremiah 23:  20-22, Jeremiah 30:  12-14, Ezekiel 13:  5-7, Matthew 9:  20-22, Matthew 14:  35-36 and John 5:  1-24, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.  And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?  Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.  Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.  Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.  They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?  Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.  For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:  he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.  But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.  (John 6:  24-38, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Intercession (12/27/2013); Jesus Is GOD’s Word (12/28/2013); GOD Enjoys Judgment? (12/19/2013); Miracles are Sacred Events (12/20/2013); A Lid on Love? For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble:  and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.  But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.  (Malachi 4:  1-2, KJV)

(02/21/2014) “Prayer Death”?

Today, I share some points (below) on faith healing, and recent media reports on what is being called a second “prayer death.”  (A Pennsylvania couple worshiping as Pentecostal believers, who are the parents of seven remaining children, were already serving out their sentence in a 10-year probation for the death of their two-year old.  They now have been sentenced as guilty of third degree murder regarding the death from treatable pneumonia in their eight-month old child.)  Additionally, there is more on doing GOD’s plan.  As my regular readers should now know, I operate in no formal role as clergy, have no ambition to start a new church, no desire to be a “religious celebrity,” or any intention of exercising authority over other believers.  Christ is sufficient for all; and it is the force of truth that establishes all sovereignty.  In the conviction of a disciple and an ordinary believer, then, I minister from the truths acquired from my own experiences of healing, continuous study, and duty as a joint-heir with Christ—as all other responsible believers are challenged to do.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Doing GOD’s Plan (02/20/2014)—Believers are all given a new and better way to “think about it,” where judgment against Judas is the natural consequence of sin within his makeup, and the love, power and eternal purposes of GOD are clarified, and revealed to be righteousness.  Foreknowledge and intellect within created beings and living creatures may derive from operations of their appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, craving for sexual contact), their senses (e.g., hearing, seeing, tasting, touching), and their mental functions (e.g. fantasy, imagination, recall).  The many events in nature appear as predictable, because they regularly occur as part of a familiar cycle or series.  Awareness and information on sacred events and divine operations all come as aspects of divinity, life essence (we say, Spirit) and utterance (we say, the word).  Included are praise, prayer, proclamations, promises, and prophecy.  Judas did not obey (i.e., put aside ones own will to carry out the will of another, the will of the community expressed in law, or the will of GOD incarnate as Jesus Christ); nor did he make an unselfish sacrifice of himself for others.  At best, Judas offered himself to an idol, a human tradition of covetousness, error, and presumption.  See again Matthew 15:  1-14, Colossians 2:  6-9 and Acts 1:  12-26, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.  And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.  And many charged him that he should hold his peace:  but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.  And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.  And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.  And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.  And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?  The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.  And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.  (Mark 10:  47-52, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Why Christians Pray for Others (01/12/2014); GOD is Jesus? (01/13/2014); Miracles are Sacred Events (12/20/2013); Resisting Sin (12/21/2013); Naaman the Leper (12/21/2012); Did Jesus Know? (12/22/2012)

(1.)  Nothing is Impossible.  For GOD, nothing is impossible; yet all things are in accordance with sacred law, in agreement with eternal purpose, in keeping of divine order, and upon condition.  For created beings and living creatures, all things of their existence are in accordance with divine imperatives, finite limits, and the operations of spiritual truth. See Matthew 19:  23-30 and Mark 14:  32-39, KJV.

(2.)  Defiance of Civil Law.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ does not instruct believers to behave as a “law unto themselves;” to be hostile toward, ignore, or neglect the demands of civil government, the bond and entity whereby an aggregate of people may operate as a legal corporation and commonwealth.  In fact, government is upheld as a mechanism from GOD for the benefit of all who must be comforted, corrected, instructed, nourished and protected.  Included are children, spouses, the members within congregations and communities of faith.  See Romans 13:  1-10, KJV.

(3.)  Intercession by the Body.  Even where everyone assembled in the crowds who came to Jesus did not offer prayers for healing while Jesus was ministering, we may assume all the disciples and apostles did so.  Following the example of the world, believers often hold that decisions about, diet, foods and health are personal, and private.  As a result, they deny their obligation to the body, the community of faith, and the community at large.  They do not properly apply the truth that blessings and divine interventions are supplied to address the needs of all in covenant; to continue and complete divine operations; and to fulfill divine promise, establish prophecy, and implement eternal purpose.  Members are not to be cut off, or isolated as though their need is merely one of me-myself-and-I.  Therefore, the Scriptures command that, believers request anointing, intercessory prayers, laying on of hands, and other support that comes from the elders and leaders of their assembly.  Accountability is to be corporate.  See James 5:  13-16, KJV.

(4.)  Knowledge of the Right Way.  Healings and miracles appeared as operations of divinity (the Scriptures say, virtue, and we say, the Holy Spirit) that resided within Jesus.  Many, who in fact have received gifts from the Holy Spirit, mistakenly assume they have all the same virtue that was in the Lord.  However, like the disciples and apostles, they may still be ignorant of divine operations.  Saying this another way:  Childlike and simple faith is not the same as collective, experienced, mature faith, and the faith that results by long practice and repeated confirmation.  Many believers are unaware of the sacramental practices associated with healing, and have been provided little formal instruction on how to obtain relief by prayer.  There is no fixed formula, or single prayer that may be relied upon to always result in immediate healing.  In this sense, each case is unique; and, alone, every believer goes about to “reinvent the wheel.”  There can be no certainty or confidence in what believers are able to do; the certainty is primarily that GOD is able to hear, and answer.  See Numbers 15:  30, Psalms 19:  12-13 and Mark 9:  14-29, KJV.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Outcomes of Sin.  Healing is not provided to continue and fortify sin.  Focused upon the flesh, many miss the connections and subtleties (barely visible differences; hidden truths) of judgment that also appear with sickness.  The Scriptures report that King David—who wore the ephod offering sacrifice as a priest, and uttered proclamations and prophecy as a spokesperson for GOD—fasted and prayed that the life of his sick child be spared.  The best doctors within the household of the king were most likely consulted.  However, the child would have been an offspring from David’s adultery with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite.  Despite David’s personal fasting, tears, and humiliation by sackcloth and ashes, the child was taken away; and the house of David would endure the wrath of GOD against sin for many generations.  See 2nd Samuel 12:  1-23, KJV.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.  But there is a spirit in man:  and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.  Great men are not always wise:  neither do the aged understand judgment.  Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.  (Job 32:  7-10, KJV)

(02/20/2014) Doing GOD’s Plan?

Accountability, foreknowledge, free will, and Judas are topics, today, along with more on snake handling.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “heart” (Level 6 with 15,519 points, a member since November 24, 2007) posted the following:

Wasn't Judas just doing God's plan?

ok follow me please..Judas. He betrayed Jesus then killed himself. Jesus KNEW that was going to happen (him hanging himself, then Jesus being imprisoned and crucified) but that's what was supposed to happen right? I mean if you think about it, Judas sacrificed his life like Jesus did because someone had to betray Jesus in order for him to go on the cross to die for everyone's sins right??

THE BATTLE AXE:  Snake Handling? (02/19/2014)—Prophetic demonstrations are a series of actions and nonverbal presentations used by a spokesperson from GOD to proclaim a divine message, and may use gestures, movements, objects arranged in patterns, and symbols in the place of words.  Miracles and signs are sacred events performed by GOD, and through operations of the Holy Spirit, and are not continuing and regularly scheduled sacred practices of men.  Also, Faith cometh  by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD.  Thus, apart from the word, snake handling is no different than snake charming (a natural process of the material world), and at its best is only a “good work” that can not serve as the foundation of ones salvation.  Miracles and signs do not edify (build up) as do sacred law and prophecy.  Demonstrations of boldness and confidence that oppose the natural order may increase doubt, fear, and uncertainty without also imparting spirit content from Christ.  Where there is no word from GOD, there should be no confirmation that follows.  See Deuteronomy 13:  1-3, Psalms 78:  31-39, John 10:  36-38, Ezekiel 4:  1-17, Acts 28:  1-6, Matthew 16:  1-4 and John 3:  11-12, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:  the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.  But there are some of you that believe not.  For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.  And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.  From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.  Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?  Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.  And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.  Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?  He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon:  for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.  (John 6:  63-71, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Resisting Sin (12/21/2013); When People Covet (12/22/2013); Freewill is Finite (06/30/2013);  GOD Intervenes? (07/01/2013); GOD Knows Tomorrow? (04/12/2013); Did Jesus Know? (12/22/2012); The True Miracle (12/23/2012)

“heart”, here are a few points to consider that agree with Christian belief, and fit with the full system that makes up the Gospel:

(1.)  Divine foreknowledge of human events pertain to the operations of GOD among created beings and living creatures, and to the fulfillment of eternal purpose.  It works the same way all Americans now know a new President will be chosen on a specific Tuesday, in November of a forthcoming year, and may determine exactly when by looking at their calendars, yet, have no knowledge of actual details on whom the Nation’s choice will be (e.g., age, eye color, height, marital status, name, party affiliation) until that time.

(2.)  Angels are not mortal, are not omniscient (all-knowing), and may only decide the future as do men, by establishing consequences and effects from their actions and choices.  Only GOD who is a spirit  is immortal, incorruptible and unchanging.  Believers may speak of the foreknowledge of GOD as an aspect of divine will (specifically intent, law, purpose, the sanctions of the law), proclamation, and prophecy.  In this sense, Adam knew death would come upon mankind before the pair laid eyes upon the fruit; and Jesus knew both mankind, and all the things he must do to fulfill his ministry.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Foolish men and angels lacking necessary endowments from GOD, insist upon a “free will” that allows disruption of divine order, the annulling of GOD’s will, and the termination of their own existence as an aspect of the divine person revealed.  The many non-negotiable conditions for mankind’s continued awareness and being as created include being cold in snow, and wet in rain.  There is no free will; and the plans of any to set aside divine love, final judgment, and sacred truth only come by lack of imparted spirit content from GOD.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(02/19/2014) Snake Handling?

Miracles, prophetic demonstrations, signs, and snake handling are topics, today.  Also, there is more on arguing against the Bible in church.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “SupaStar” (Level 6 with 20,194 points, a member since April 03, 2013) posted the following:

Do you think ALL Churches should take up snake handling?

Wouldn't that solve much of the problems with many theists, that is, weeding out the most ignorant?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Arguing Against the Bible in Church? (02/18/2014)—The process of the church centers on meeting the needs of created beings and living creatures, rather than needs within the GODhead.  The detection of nominal Christians (i.e., those who are believers in name only), and those in service to the Adversary, is regularly accomplished by their repeated expressions of malice toward the body, and their readiness to attack the Scriptures.  Believers in Christ are to willingly accept a duty to minister unselfishly to others, therefore, ones personal agenda is routinely put aside in order to benefit the body through sacrifice.  What may not be spoken in the name of Jesus, and to the glory of the Father, is better left unsaid.  Saying this another way:  Anything we might say, and how we might say it, that would offend the Savior is not to be brought before the body.  The church is not to be a battlefield, or place of combat and confrontation.  Yet, declaring and reminding others of truth they have already been given may humble pride and sting, for the word also operates as correction, rebuke, and reproof.  Every initiative, whether among the clergy or lay persons, should acknowledge and express divine intent and sacred purpose that agrees with things recorded, and things proclaimed and prophesied that are yet to be fulfilled.  When properly carried out, challenges or objections to attitudes, behavior and doctrine within the church will be made only after invoking and acknowledging the divine presence.  There is to be a shared acknowledgment of authority from GOD as well as correct application of the divinely provided procedures for judgment and resolution of conflict.  See Matthew 20:  20-28, Galatians 2:  9-21 and Matthew 18:  15-20, King James Version.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.  And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.  And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.  After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.  And they went and told it unto the residue:  neither believed they them.  Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.  Amen.  (Mark 16:  9-20, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Miracles are Sacred Events (12/20/2013); Resisting Sin (12/21/2013); A Relationship not Just Knowledge? “SupaStar”, here are a few points intended for the children of GOD that should make perfect sense to a long-time investigator like yourself who has been shown many answers from the Holy Spirit:

(1.)  Snake handling is not as great a problem to Christian believers as the continuous mishandling of the word of GOD.  In addition to those who deliberately manipulate (we say, wrest) the Scriptures in order to have advantage over others, and contend against GOD, there are many who err by ignorance of the Scriptures, incorrect application of divine principles that are revealed, and satisfaction with the retarded development for their own inner Spirit.

(2.)  Once born again through baptism (we may say, reproduced from divine DNA), believers must “grow up” again, and mature while facing the same challenges of life that come against all upon the earth.  While constriction and snake venoms may destroy a person’s physical body, there is nothing that can kill or remove the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD.  Even so, by receiving blasphemy, heresy, and warped ideas, believers are defiled and weakened as if poison had been added to their daily meals.

(3.)  The justification for snake handling shared by many is anchored in the flesh, not the Holy Spirit.  Where there is a fascination with death, a desire to “show off” and demonstrate power, there is little more than a tempting of GOD.  The person of GOD demonstrated by Christ must be primary.  The Holy Spirit is his agent, and does not promote himself, a different agenda, a different Gospel, or a new doctrine separate and distinct from that taught by Jesus.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. ( For example, (4.)  Were you a church member showing respect to the covenants and discipline you share with others of your congregation, you would realize the ignorant are always weeded out by duty, love, regimen, sacred practices (we say, the sacraments), eternal purposes, and unchanging truth.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  (2nd Corinthians 4:  1-3, KJV)

(02/18/2014) Arguing Against the Bible in Church?

Today, some points are shared on ones freedom to argue against the Bible when in church.  Also, there is more on relationships where believers may get spiritual knowledge.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Cloudberry vs Boysenberry” (Level 1 with 244 points, a member since May 11, 2009) posted the following:

Christians, during church can you argue against something from the bible?

Let's say you read something in the bible and say to yourself "I don't think that is true, I want to argue that". Can you do that? Can you get with other Christians and say that somethings are just inaccurate in the bible?

If you do that, how will others look at you? Will you be looked at as weird or odd for even questioning the bible?

Additional Details

What's wrong with the question? Scientists do this all the time. They argue points, disprove theories and still move on. That is not negative in any way shape or form.

My question is for Religion. How do they handle something like this?

"Deadeye" so you are saying you have to read the bible cover to cover before you convert? Most of us were children that didn't have much of a choice but and went along with mom and dad.

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Right Place to Get Knowledge (02/17/2014)—(5.)  In a certain sense, believers should only seek spiritual knowledge from within themselves.  In the holy writings, Christian believers are commanded to avoid relationships and situations that compromise, and work against the divine content they receive as part of the church.  Even family, and others in close association may operate as those who  contend against the Gospel, and continually promote sin.  The Internet, social media, television, and the public forum are not dedicated, disciplined, and set apart (we say, sanctified) to serve Christian believers, and using these tools require the same balance, discretion, and maturity as choosing ones friends, and deciding how to interact with ones spouse, schoolmates or co-workers.  Believers all must arrive at the point where they stand entirely upon their own measure of faith from GOD.  All develop discernment whereby they make choices and decisions for companionship and participation.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, believers are built up in understanding, and guided by the imparted, indwelling Spirit (called the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth).  A fresh endowment of spirit content from GOD is acquired through baptism that operates upon awareness and self-will within the believer.  Christians must answer many things that are contrary to, and different from, their own spiritual beliefs, cravings, and understandings.  Included are atheist beliefs, Buddhism, the Koran, Greek myths, Hindu, mathematics, occultism, philosophy, politics, popular culture, shamanism, and witchcraft.  Believers may freely examine and study various belief systems, yet, they must be careful to maintain a disciplined grasp upon those things from GOD that provide genuine nourishment of the divine spirit they themselves contain.  See Proverbs 13:  20, Proverbs 22:  4, Luke 14:  25-27, Romans 10:  5-10, 2nd Corinthians 1:  24, 2nd Corinthians 6:  14-18, 2nd Timothy 2:  3-4, 2nd Timothy 3:  1-5 and 1st John 2:  18-29, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:  A sower went out to sow his seed:  and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.  And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.  And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.  And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.  And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God:  but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.  Now the parable is this:  The seed is the word of God.  Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.  They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.  And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.  (Luke 8:  4-15, KJV)

“Cloudberry vs Boysenberry”, here are a few points intended for the children of GOD that I can share from my experience:

(1.)  In classroom situations and settings for instruction, many opportunities for discussion and exchange are provided.  Believers freely raise questions, and offer responses that display not only their understandings of various doctrines, policies of the church, and Scripture verses, they also deliver and exchange insights, personal testimonies, and prophetic proclamations.  There are many rules that may apply, and respect is to be maintained throughout.

(2.)  Argument, debate, and private opinions are accounted as useless.  The body and congregation are to welcome only statements that clarify the divine law, sacred duty, the operations of divine spirit, and eternal purpose.  For this reason, many assemblies discourage the use of speaking in tongues and their translation, and interruptions during lessons, particularly sermon presentations.

(3.)  While everyone attending a meeting or session may be a baptized adult, a member of the church in “good standing” who actively participates in the several ministries available, and has met all their obligation to support the church by giving, all believers are not equal, and have not achieved the same levels of responsibility, authority, knowledge, and maturity.  Differences, diversity and imbalance are necessary as a dynamic for the church that provides energy, growth, and movement.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. ( For example, (4.)  Within the church, the process and duty for believers is to first, prepare their Spirit for participation by submitting themselves to GOD in prayer; listen carefully to any presentations that are offered while they are in the gathering place (take nothing for granted, no matter how casual, or offhand it may seem); reflect; then go to GOD for confirmation of sacred truth through prayer, and further study of the holy writings.  In the final stage, one may have to accept and acknowledge correction, and begin to display change as well as resolve to practice according to the new light they have received.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

He that hath knowledge spareth his words:  and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.  Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:  and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.  (Proverbs 17:  27-28, KJV)
