Points are shared, today, to clarify a conflict that results by language appearing within the Scriptures. The Second Coming (we say, Advent, the Rapture) and “the last day” (we say, the day of the Lord) are again in view. A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers New Zealand” using the ID “chris” (Level 1 with 9 points, a member since December 26, 2014) posted the following:
Fellow Christians: Why do some teach that the return of Christ is imminent when the bible says that the resurrection is on the last day?
Update: Yes. Christ will return at the resurrection, on the last day and make all things new, the last day of history as we know it. God bless! Have a wonderfully blessed day!
THE GOLDEN ARROW: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. (Romans 15: 4-7, KJV)

“chris”, the holy writings challenge most of us beyond our day-to-day level for thought and action, because the truths recorded there require recognition of many subtle (i.e., barely visible; hidden) shifts in divine intent, meaning, purpose, and value. Here are a few points that should help you to avoid error, imbalance, and spiritual confusion:
(1.) The operations of GOD to cleanse, re-configure, and permanently preserve Creation are continuous, and have been going forward from before the foundation of the firmament, and the earth and heaven were chosen to be used as spheres for life.
(2.) Revelation is eternal, and also should be understood as pre-existent (i.e., beginning and occurring before the creation of earth as the context for mankind).
(3.) The frameworks of space and time are finite tools given by GOD to created beings and living creatures that permit the management (e.g., cataloging, categorizing, editing, storing) of information as well as peculiar acts of communication, exchange and interaction. Intellect, intuition, premonition and other emotional/mental process are given form as discrete events, occurrences, and temporal sequences.
(4.) In the same way the operation of sin—the non-material, non-spirit influence that opposes the continued existence of divine law, the law giver, and the Creation under law—may dominate awareness and self-will within the living, the operations of divinity described as anticipation, certainty, conviction, expectation, and hope may become a ruling influence. Eternal purpose is conveyed and expressed as timeless, yet, active and present. Thus, Adventism (expecting the coming of Christ to be soon), joy, longsuffering, participation in judgment, and zeal always mark and sanctify (we say, set apart for divine service) every believer, in every age.
There is far more that should be said, correctly understood, and spiritually taken into account. (For example (5.) While the death of Jesus upon the cross—the final stage in his carnal existence and mortality—prompts him to say, It is finished! believers all must acknowledge the cross as necessary, yet, not sufficient. There must be more. The ministry of Jesus upon the earth continues as the ministry of a celestial High Priest, and a Risen Lord enthroned within the heaven. In addition to Jesus preparing to harvest from the earth those who are ripe (ready) as his believers, the Savior must complete works of atonement, building and allocating the New Jerusalem, cleansing the Sanctuary, imparting the indwelling Spirit to mankind, judgment against the wicked as well as the elimination of Satan and sin.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
