(09/12/2019) Focus On Things Revealed

Today, reply is on the proper focus for investigation and study among Christian believers. Sinners are not saved simply by acquiring more knowledge, nor are believers saved by continuing in carefulness and worry. Being those who receive salvation as a free gift and the expression of divine love, developing and mature believers are not required to become all-knowing and omniscient regarding the things of GOD. Believers need not continue to pose questions on every detail of divine operations and sacred events, need no longer continue making doubtful projections intended to foretell the future, and should no longer speculate about the possibilities for events that have only finite meaning and value. Through the holy writings that record appearances of GOD upon the earth using thousands of events, within thousands of lives, over the course of thousands of years, divinity has presented a complete agenda and syllabus to those seeking salvation; and the major aspects of sacred truth we now require have been summarized. Included are admonitions and warnings; covenants; divine law; histories of priestly families, tribes and nations; prophetic demonstrations; principles for communication, exchange, and interaction as sacred communities; examples from the ministry of Jesus Christ; gospel testimonies; and end time revelation. It is written: Revelation 1: 1-3, King James Version (KJV): 1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “Evokal (Level 3 with 1,525 points, a member since December 22, 2009) posted the following:

As far as God is concerned, are there questions we shouldn't ask? Or is everything on the table?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6: 33-34, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: A Single Sacred Revelation (01/09/2019); Asking Questions in Heaven? (11/15/2018); Mysteries Of The Kingdom? (09/28/2018); Life And Divine Purpose (05/04/2018); “The End Is Near” (03/14/2018); Idolatry -- Exalting Human Devices? (09/21/2017); The First Divine Thought? (07/31/2017); About Revelation not Punishment? (11/25/2016)

Evokal”, revelation is the sacred process wherein divinity willingly makes themselves knowable, known, accessible, and approachable to created beings and living creatures. Curiosity and the human desire for secular knowledge (e.g., intellect, logic, philosophy, carnal reason, science) arises from aspects of the flesh, while the appetite for sacred knowledge arises from the inseparable aspects of spirit we receive as a fresh endowment from the makeup of GOD. Included are faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, personhood, wisdom, and wrath against sin. The guidance and instruction from GOD provided to mankind through the holy writings do include many admonitions and warnings against meddling, exaggerated pride, and presumption. Many seek knowledge displaying what is called “vainglory” (i.e., in order to boast, compete, manipulate others, and subordinate their peers). Those who are impenitent and insist on the operations of sin in their lives reject the necessary atonement and remission for sin provided through Jesus Christ as our High Priest. Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

1. Ecclesiastes 5: 1-2, King James Version (KJV): 1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. 2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

2. Numbers 15: 29-31, KJV: 29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them. 30 But the soul that doeth aught presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

3. Proverbs 9: 6-10, KJV: 6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. 7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. 8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

4. Colossians 3: 1-4, KJV: 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended (for example, 5. Revelation 22: 16-21, KJV: 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(07/08/2016) To Him That Hath...

Today, points are shared on receiving conviction, faith, and sacred knowledge as gifts from divinity.  Faith is the ultimate “evidence” for the active presence of GOD; and just as those who despise mercy will not be shown mercy, those who despise divine truth will not be given divine truth.  Until carefully built up and properly instructed, we do not expect an infant who lacks emotional and social skills to grasp all the benefits and possibilities from a large gift of money, place the correct value upon the gift, or respond to the giver of the gift showing gratitude and respect.  Being called, chosen, elect, and favored with divine inheritance only indicates there is advantage and opportunity that must be actualized and cultivated through works.  To apprehend the full benefit and power for believers in GOD through Jesus Christ, sinners must enter into a peculiar relationship of trust toward GOD, and a sacred process of gradual change, growth, and learning.  For a balanced, complete, and full experience of redemption and salvation, a sinner should become aware of specific information and truth from GOD available only by having fellowship with anointed and endowed believers, praise, prayer, unselfish service, sharing, and study of the holy writings.  In the same way Abraham became known as “the Friend of God” by continuing to demonstrate faith, hope, obedience and reverence, those who welcome the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD through Jesus Christ also may become embraced as adopted sons and daughters as well as joint-heirs of GOD.  One of the fighters at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Anonymous” (required profile information not shared) posted the following:
"we have evidence as presented by God for our belief and faith in him, this same evidence he withholds from you because you're a skeptic"?
So God only provides evidence to people after they already believe!? LOL.
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good report.  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.  By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts:  and by it he being dead yet speaketh.  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him:  for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.  But without faith it is impossible to please him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  (Hebrews 11:  1-6, King James Version, KJV)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Discernment and The Cross? (05/29/2016); Sacred Knowledge and Christ (05/16/2016); Few Are Chosen (07/06/2015); An Eternity Worshipping? (07/22/2014); Grace is Not Against Law (07/23/2014); Inheriting the Kingdom (06/27/2014); Points on Bible Study (06/28/2014); Life Given By Knowledge? (04/03/2013); A Spirit Church? (04/04/2013)
“Anonymous”, as they begin, sinners are not expected to exhibit innocence or purity, yet, they are to make a commitment to GOD wherein Deity is welcomed to establish cleansing, healing, and permanent change.  Becoming mature as a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ involves more than hearing evidence to approve or condemn the existence, righteousness and truth of Deity.  Also, development as one who is “born again” is far from being a process of engaging “mumbo-jumbo”, mysticism, and the occult.  Those born again may begin like Moses, who was drawn to the burning bush by curiosity, however, all must “grow up again” by acquiring “sacred knowledge,” and continuing specific practices (we say, sacraments) to share otherwise hidden and intimate aspects of ones own character, nature and substance through an ongoing relationship with divinity.  Being able to place the same value upon the things from GOD that he himself places upon them, requires communion, exchange, and interaction that only becomes possible through GOD imparting inseparable aspects of the divine makeup.  Included are faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, meekness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  One-time events may provide satisfying experiences, however, they should be taken as “only the beginning” for lifetime growth and learning.  Christian believers are to become “ripe” for harvest at the appearing of Jesus Christ (we say, Advent, the Rapture, the Second Coming).  The transformation to exist as immortal, incorruptible companions to divinity will be completed as they meet the Lord in the air.  Consider again how some of this is stated in the language of the Bible:
(1.)  Isaiah 50:  4-9, King James Version (KJV):  4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary:  he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.  5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.  6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair:  I hid not my face from shame and spitting.  7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded:  therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.  8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together:  who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.  9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
(2.)  Matthew 13:  10-17, KJV:  10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?  11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.  12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance:  but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.  13 Therefore speak I to them in parables:  because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.  14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:  15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.  16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see:  and your ears, for they hear.  17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
There is far more that could be said, must be carefully examined, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (3.)  Luke 19:  26-27, KJV:  26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.  27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(03/22/2016) The Cross and Today

Focus, today, is upon The Passion Live, and similar entertainment programs broadcast to celebrate and remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Be not deceived.  GOD’s message for mankind’s salvation now must compete against amusements, diversions, and pastimes that are often very colorful, filled with exciting images, and rich in detail.  Even so, they serve as poor substitutes for preaching that conveys the power of the cross, and direct instruction from the holy writings that impart the Holy Spirit.  The disciples and followers of Jesus Christ are to experience permanent changes in their character, nature, and spirit content.  The process for this used by divinity is described as rebirth that must be intimate, organic, and personal.  Eternal purposes must be established along with faith, joy, respect and trust.  The impact of Internet, motion pictures, televangelism, and other public media events often are surface, and does not endure.  Viewers should not trust such 5 to 90 minute programs to provide complete and full sacred knowledge.  The work may be tainted because everyone (i.e., the full cast, camera men, sound specialists, writers, etc.) involved may not be anointed and endowed as believers in Christ.  The sacred message may be altered and edited with precious aspects omitted and overlooked.  More than this, just as small children master reciting their ABCs, yet, still can not create the combinations and permutations for reading and writing, casual viewers are encouraged to feel they have finally have been given all the information about Christ that they will ever need, yet, remain lacking in necessary knowledge concerning Advent, judgment, eternal life, and the second death.  Consider again the following Scriptures, and the presentation below:
1st Corinthians 3:  11-15, King James Version (KJV):  11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest:  for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:  but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Matthew 16:  21-24, KJV:  21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.  22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord:  this shall not be unto thee.  23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan:  thou art an offence unto me:  for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.  24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
2nd Corinthians 5:  7, KJV:  7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
1st Corinthians 3:  1-3, KJV:  1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.  2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat:  for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.  3 For ye are yet carnal:  for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “BiEn Galas” (Level 1 with 104 points, a member since January 28, 2015) posted the following:
WHY IS THE PASSION LIVE USING A MODERN SETTING?
Shouldn't it be set during the time of Jesus?
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:  that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.  Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:  for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:  For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  (2nd Peter 1:  2-11, KJV)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Cross and Eternity (03/21/2016); The Cross and Resurrection Sunday? (03/16/2016); On Wearing Sports Jerseys? (11/20/2015); Are Holidays Bad? (11/16/2013); Denying GOD by Eating Shrimp? (11/17/2013); Can GOD Die? (05/14/2013); The Church as a Bride? (05/15/2013); Double Standard? (10/12/2012); Family and Romance (10/13/2012)
“BiEn Galas”, many mature Christian believers tuned into the broadcast of The Passion Live as a contemporary  entertainment event using modern day language and themes to make the Gospel proclaimed by Jesus Christ recognizable, “relevant”, and “easy” to understand.  Because such productions are directed to our emotions and intellect, they often recreate displays of secular history through the use of costumes, formal language (e.g., dialect, poetry, rhetoric), exotic locations, and lavish sets.  While the intent of their performers, producers, and everyone involved may be to provide a genuine discussion of redemption and salvation through the Lord, viewers may quickly forget and turn away from such productions, because the medium (e.g., animation, DVD, Internet, motion picture) with advertising and commercial interruptions also affect and alter how the viewer decides the importance, and weight of the program’s message.
To the extent a production carefully focuses the viewer upon the meanings, principles, and values of the Gospel, one may have an experience of “baby steps,” acquiring basic information regarding salvation through Christ, and becoming aroused and engaged by sacred truth.  In the same way Moses, on his way home after work, was drawn aside by curiosity to discover the burning bush—and not by his desire to praise GOD or to pray—many viewers initially responded to The Passion as just another TV program, and were challenged to realize a peculiar expression of faith was being publicly shared.
What Christian believers are to experience and receive in their places of prayer, praise, study and worship is spirit content from the makeup of divinity, and, therefore is not centered upon finite human images, thoughts, and feelings.  Even today, 2016, the disciples and followers of Jesus acknowledge that, despite time and space, through operations of the Holy Spirit, blood and truth from the cross are flowing to here and now.  Achieving full awareness and a correct understanding of the life, ministry, death, resurrection, ascension, outpourings and sacred gifts we receive through Jesus requires the active presence of Deity.  When alert, committed, and set apart (we say, sanctified), a believer experiences exchange and interactions among the inseparable spirit substances that are the makeup of GOD.  Included are faith, holiness, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.
There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, the holy writings remain the most reliable resource shared by believers for sacred knowledge.  It is written:  1st Peter 2:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  Also, Acts 20:  32, KJV:  32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(08/05/2015) The Three Wise Men?

How human curiosity, divine intent, and godly wisdom may come together are themes, today.  Asked why the three wise men (some prefer, astrologers or astronomers) investigated the star that appeared over Bethlehem, many would want to say the three did so only because they were driven by a hunger for secular knowledge.  Similarly, we could ask the question, Who sent Moses to view the burning bush?  The case of Moses, allows us to see more quickly, the process was more that the Prophet was drawn, not that he was sent.  Moses was on his way home after a days work, and did not turn aside with the intention of acknowledging GOD, offering devotions, or making some prayer.  Yet, a sacred event of revelation became actual through the agreement of operations from both divine will and flesh.  The birth of Jesus as an heir to the throne of David was more than a routine, natural occurrence.  It was also a celestial, cosmic, political, prophetic, and sacred event (we say, miracle).  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Silas” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since August 04, 2015) posted the following:

Who sends the three wise men to birth place of Jesus?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.  But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.  This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.  For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.  (James 3:  13-18, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  It Is Our Wisdom To Ask (05/18/2015); The Christmas Spirit? (12/23/2014); Peace The Gift of Christmas? (12/24/2014); Science and the Laws of Nature?  (03/23/2013); How To Love GOD? (03/24/2013); About the Star? (12/24/2012); Without The Noise of Battle (12/25/2012)

“Silas”, most mature Christian believers agree that all the different events announcing and proclaiming the virgin birth of Jesus Christ were orchestrated by the Spirit of GOD (also called, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth) as the fulfillment of covenant, divine promise, prophecy, and a continuing revelation of divinity.  For many among us, discovery, inquiry and investigation are naturally occurring aspects of life experience.  Therefore, methods and materials have been developed over time that permit us to speak with great confidence as historians, men of wisdom, thinkers, and scientists.  It remains, however, that only the things from GOD permit the most correct sacred knowledge and insight regarding the things from Deity such as Atonement, Eternal Life,  Incarnation, Redemption, Salvation and Sanctification. Here are some points from the Bible that speak to finite mankind’s search for transcendent wisdom:

(1.)  Matthew 2:  2-3, King James Version (KJV):  2 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,  2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.  3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

(2.)  Jeremiah 33:  2-3, KJV:  2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

(3.)  Psalms 119:  98-101, KJV:  98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies:  for they are ever with me.  99 I have more understanding than all my teachers:  for thy testimonies are my meditation.  100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.  101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.

(4.)  James 1:  5-8, KJV:  5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.  8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

(5.)  1st Corinthians 3:  18-20, KJV:  18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.  19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.  20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

(6.)  Proverbs 9:  10, KJV:  10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:  and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

There is far more that could be said, and that must be correctly understood and spiritually taken into account.  (For example (7.)  1st Corinthians 1:  18-21, KJV:  18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.  19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?  21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(09/11/2014) Dating and Worship?

Today, points are shared on courtship and dating within church settings, smoking and tobacco use, and worship among minors and youth.  Also, there is more on freedom of foul speech.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using the ID “Paul” (Level 1 with 24 points, a member since September 05, 2014) posted the following:

A weird situation at open air youth worship?

Last weekend me and my girlfriend attended an open air youth worship service. We stood towards the back and she lit a cigarette a little way into the service. She asked the two or three young people standing next to us if they minded her smoking and they were OK about it. They were probably 12-15 year olds maybe? - one good thing was they had excellent singing voices.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Freedom of Foul Speech (09/10/2014)—(5.)  In order to introduce change, cleansing, healing, hope and a new quality of life, Jesus Christ addressed many of the life experiences and struggles for mankind that generate and continue bitterness, despair, fear, pain, and wretchedness.  Included are sexual appetite, divorce, duty, fornication, indebtedness, marriage, parenting, prostitution, and same sex relationships.  Believers understand that their choices for their own verbal behavior, and what they say out of their mouths, should agree with and show others their willingness to acknowledge the presence of Christ in their lives.  Being mature and having authority over himself, Jesus may have dealt with many who used cursing and swearing on a daily basis (e.g., the Scriptures report that Peter denied Jesus with foul language before he received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, who anointed him to preach that day).  However, there is no indication that Jesus allowed the infirmity and weakness of other men to contaminate or corrupt his ministry to mankind, his prayers, or his usual day-to-day behavior and speech.  In respect to Jesus, believers all follow the rule that ones speech is offered in sacrifice to GOD, and should be “seasoned with salt” (i.e., healing intent, humility, innocence, respect, purity).  See again Leviticus 2:  13, Mark 9:  50, Matthew 5:  10-11, Matthew 18:  5-7, 1st Corinthians 10:  23 and Colossians 4:  5-6, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  Let your women keep silence in the churches:  for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home:  for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?  If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.  But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.  Let all things be done decently and in order.  (1st Corinthians 14:  33-40, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  When Children Embrace Church? (08/18/2014); Condemned by the Church? (08/19/2014); Why the Gospel for Our Children (05/13/2014); Changing Times and Laws? “Paul”, here are a few points important to Christian believers that may help you fit in more correctly and not feel weird again when you next are with those who gather to worship Christ as redeemer and savior:

(1.)  Dating is an aspect of courtship wherein two persons develop, and examine themselves and one another through a relationship that may result in marriage.  They may share in various social settings that allow quiet exchange, laughter, expression of their goals, hopes and visions of the future, displaying their present commitments as well as promoting aspects of their deepest beliefs.  Correctly understood, a date to share religious experiences, and introduce ones companions to their own faith community is also an invitation that they continue in Christ.  Even where the dating or friendship eventually may be broken off, the relationship with Christ can be eternal.

(2.)  Your friend’s use of tobacco was unfortunate, because smoking is a behavior that to many signifies boldness, defiance, lack of self-control and self-discipline, lack of sound knowledge regarding health, nastiness, pride, rebellion, and selfishness.  (There is a danger from second-hand smoke:  where you can not keep the smoke from your own lungs, you can not keep it from defiling and soiling others either.)

(3.)  It is not wrong to attend church when you have questions that may only be answered there.  Many attend services in the same spirit as Moses, who only turned aside for the burning bush from curiosity, not because he wanted a prayer or worship break.  Only those who are sincerely seeking instruction and sacred knowledge will experience the spiritual benefit and growth provided by GOD through the Holy Spirit.  They will have prepared themselves to display peculiar attitudes and behavior such as cooperation, courtesy, giving, humility, respect and self-denial.

As we observe another anniversary of an attack upon America by those pursuing a faith that exalts death and destruction for the unsuspecting, there is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The situation you described was not simple.  Even in a crowd, where one may be anonymous and unknown, mature and young adults will be held accountable, and are expected to set an example for minors and teens.  Asking their permission is inappropriate, for often children are unaware of dangers involved with adult behavior.  Bullied, immature, intimidated, and unprepared, children can not always effectively rebuke the behavior of those who should know better.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(05/31/2014) Choosing a Church?

The topic, today, is how a person can decide what church to visit.  Also, there is more on spiritual accountability and liability when speaking of being responsible for sin.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using ID “~Fatimah” (Level 5 with 8,190 points, a member since June 09, 2011) posted the following:

How do you know which church to go to?

If someone wanted to visit a church and did not know much about Christianity, how do they know which kind of church to visit? Going around the city, there are so many different kinds of churches...

THE BATTLE AXE:  Responsible for Sin? (05/30/2014)—(5.)  In the same way children inherit physical features from their parents such as complexion, eye color, height and weight, and are legally obligated through such features as contracts, promises, and other  relationships of their parents, offspring also inherit spiritual features such as life challenges, covenant obligations, and practices for praise and worship.  While children do not actually inherit blame, fault, guilt or shame, they often are challenged by and experience an inheritance with such features as debt, disadvantages, duty, false hopes, and unattainable dreams.  While sin was introduced through our first parents (Adam and Eve), they were not the cause or origin of sin; and have not been condemned by GOD for transgression of divine law so much as for denial of divine love, of right relationship with divinity, and of trust.  Mankind today is not responsible for eliminating and removing sin; however, all are accountable for the attitudes, behavior, conduct and consequences generated from their own choices, and actions directed through self-will.  Apart from the spiritual provisions from GOD, none can detect, recognize, or resist sin as an influence.  Created beings and living creatures do not comprehend or grasp sin except as GOD reveals and displays certain aspects of divinity.  Included are forbearance, longsuffering, mercy, patience, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  This is no different than the way we do not comprehend divinity except as GOD displays and reveals spirit through incarnation (i.e., embodiment within flesh).  Forgiveness is upon condition of atonement; and the atonement required is fulfilled only in the ministry of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of GOD that takes away the sin of the world.  See again Exodus 20:  4-6, Exodus 34:  6-8, Leviticus 5:  15-17, John 1:  28-34, Hebrews 5:  1-10, Hebrews 7:  24-28 and Hebrews 9:  11-15, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation.  Let all things be done unto edifying.  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  (1st Corinthians 14:  26-33, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Should Men Take Their Hats Off? (05/15/2014); The Issue Is Not Accuracy (05/16/2014); Philosophical Questions? (04/17/2014); To Accomplish A Sacred Goal (04/18/2014); Going It Alone? (12/16/2013); On Being Good Stewards (12/17/2013)

“~Fatimah”, here are a few points for those exploring Christian beliefs that you may find useful:

(1.)  In the same way you would want to know the film being presented before buying your ticket to enter a movie theater, you would ask some questions to know what’s being discussed and shared within a congregation before attending their open services.  Many assemblies now feature a display board in the front area of their church property that names their pastor and other featured speakers.  Dates and times for various activities are usually listed including healing services, Bible study, prayer meetings, evangelism and revival programs, titles and topics of sermons as well as special lesson series (e.g., baptism, Bible prophecies, and the End Times).

(2.)  Travelers are often challenged to find information about local churches they may attend during their stay away from their home church.  They may find listings in the telephone book (yellow pages), and call to ask times for their activities, and what behavior and practices a visitor should expect, and be alert to observe.  Similarly, a new believer, or someone merely curios is welcome to call and speak to a clergyperson or other available member of the group.  Just like with other settings and situations, your first impressions can be important to deciding whether you further your contact with that group of believers.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Moses received a profound,  unasked for and unexpected experience of GOD, because he turned aside from curiosity to see a bush that was burning, yet showing no ashes, or smoke.  What many people want is for GOD to guide them to the “perfect” church.  They want to “feel” drawn and carried through a series of “coincidences” that result in their being “at the right place, at the right time.”  Because they are operating in terms that are carnal (determined by appetite, senses like hearing and seeing, and desire for the supernatural) they are often disappointed.  They don’t receive the exact spiritual knowledge and guidance they need from GOD, because they have not clearly decided what they are seeking, and do not ask GOD for it by their prayers and their willingness to give and share with others.  What a visitor will actually experience is very much a matter of their own choice, and will be limited according to what they are prepared to receive.).  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your meekness (i.e., willingness to be taught by GOD), and faith.

Brethren, be not children in understanding:  howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.  In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.  Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:  but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.  (1st Corinthians 14:  20-22, KJV)

(05/04/2014) Lot and the Angels

Angels, discernment, hospitality, Lot, sacrifice, and salvation are topics, today.  Also, there is more on loving GOD before we actually see him.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Dexter” (Level 1 with 95 points, a member since May 04, 2014) posted the following:

Before Lot offered his 2 daughters to the crowd, had he known that the 2 men were Angels ? When He first knew they were Angels ?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Loving Someone Unseen? (05/03/2014)—(5.)  For many of us today, behaving with respect, love, and acceptance toward someone unseen, someone we have never met face to face, is practiced daily by millions through modern computer media, and telephone.  In addition to social conventions of courtesy, etiquette, and good manners, many are disposed to be positive with strangers, and in all their relationships because of their own emotional, intellectual and psychological makeup as well as their own upbringing and “home training.”  For Christian believers, just as ones discipline, knowledge, and orientation for ministry and priesthood are established through the content of sacred spirit matter from GOD, the appetite and hunger for Christ is permanently implanted, and firmly rooted to grow.  One may first be drawn to Christ by curiosity, the same way Moses was drawn to turn aside, and see the burning bush.  Moses only wanted a closer look at an unusual sight, and was not expecting to have an extraordinary experience of divine revelation.  Similarly, most believers do not first turn their feelings and thoughts to Christ with an intent of making a lifetime commitment.  Conviction and total surrender may seem to appear suddenly, however, before baptism, confirmation, and sanctification are complete there first will be multiple experiences of encounter with divine love and truth through Jesus Christ.  By coming to know sacred history, divine law, and eternal purposes, believers may first be exposed to GOD as Law Giver, Covenant Maker, and Eternal King.  Once they come into a mature acceptance of duty, and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit, they begin to know GOD in intimate relationship as sons, daughters, and joint-heirs with Christ.  Consider Deuteronomy 6:  4-9, Deuteronomy 10:  12, Isaiah 61:  8, Ephesians 4:  11-16 and 1st John 3:  16-24, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;  Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;  Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;  Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.  Bless them which persecute you:  bless, and curse not.  Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.  Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate.  Be not wise in your own conceits.  Recompense to no man evil for evil.  Provide things honest in the sight of all men.  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.  Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:  for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.  (Romans 12:  10-19, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  (10/15/2013) Balaam (10/15/2013); About Sabbath (10/16/2013); A Visit from an Angel? (10/20/2013); The Head Not The Tail? (10/21/2013); Circumcision and Promise? (07/16/2013); The Bible and Stupid People (07/17/2013); Origin of Baptism? (06/22/2013); Those Who Never Heard? (06/07/2013); If You Are Sent…? (06/08/2013)

“Dexter”, here are a few points regarding the deliverance of Lot that may further enable you to overcome error, and nourish the Spirit of Christ in those who believe:

(1.)  Godly hospitality and spiritual discernment only appear through interactions and operations of the same spirit matter that are the makeup of divinity.  After living as a member of the household of Abraham, Lot continued in many customs and practices introduced to him by the Patriarch, the Friend of GOD.   In Lot’s day, mankind (even the prophets) experienced the Holy Spirit as a temporal power in visitation—something that would come and go, and would only last for a time.  The Spirit could appear in dreams, in the various forms of angelic messengers, and in human form.  Not until after the Ascension of Jesus Christ would the Spirit abide continuously within the awareness and spiritual makeup of men.

(2.)  The benefit of sacrifice was clearly known and understood by Lot and his family.  Lot therefore was under a rule that even has been practiced in modern times among nations (e.g., Snowden in Russia):  Once a person comes into your home for refuge and shelter, it is the duty of the host, his family, his servants, to entertain, feed, protect, and refresh the visitor.  In the shared commitment, no cost is spared, even to the laying down of everyone’s life, because the proper receiving of a guest is also a matter of honor.

(3.)  Lot did not have the same spiritual discernment that is established through the gifts of Pentecost.  Failing to understand the danger and the divine deliverance, Lot thought to stall the angels for more time; and the heavenly messengers had to pull him and his family away taking them by their hands like stubborn children.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly put into place, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Remember Lot’s wife.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, those who are baptized receive a fresh endowment of the spirit matter that was breathed into Adam.  With the death of ones inborn nature, and rebirth from divine DNA (so to speak), all believers are taken by their hands, and led into salvation.  However, like Lot who argued to be carried to safety in the plains instead of the mountains, many think the provision of GOD will not be correct for them.  All “born again” must gradually “grow up” again meeting the life challenges for all upon the earth.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith, and your integrity as a genuine believer.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:  for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.  (Hebrews 13:  2, KJV)

(11/28/2013) Before Getting Baptized?

Happy Thanksgiving!  Today, a few points are shared that can be helpful before one is baptized.  Also there is more on atheists, teens, and parenting.  A writer at “Yahoo! Answers Malaysia” using the ID “JG” (Level 1 with 83 points, a member since October 16, 2012) posted the following originally asked at Yahoo Answers United States:

Does a person have to choose a denomination before getting baptized?

Can you be baptized and choose not to be a part of any specific Christian denomination? Or does being baptized in a church of a specific denomination mean you are choosing to be of that sect?

THE BATTLE AXE:  Kicked Out By Parents? (11/27/2013)—It will always be acceptable and correct for parents to establish discipline in the home (we used to say, provide home training) for their children—from feeding a newborn on a schedule that does not require walking the floor odd hours of the night and every time the baby cries, to refusing to breastfeed in every public setting.  The adults are to create and maintain boundaries, limits, and standards that will allow the child a sense of personal being and integrity as well as to acknowledge and respond to the human needs of their caretakers.  Yes, the early training of a child is by imposing a stronger will upon a less developed person; however, the child is not abused thereby, nor made an injured party, a sufferer, or a victim.  For the home also to nourish and prepare the parents for their encounters within the workplace, the marketplace, or even the privacy of their sexual sharing, there must be reasonable order and stability.  Minor children too must acquire skill as they are growing and learning to operate and fulfill ones duty despite their dislikes, likes, and preferences.  Children are to be a help and to provide emotional, psychological and spiritual relief for their parents through displays of enthusiasm, good cheer, kindness, humility, meekness, obedience, and zeal.  It remains that despite advancement of today’s social media and technology, development for teenagers continues to proceed by their asserting maturity without also affirming accountability, their operating without complete and correct information regarding the needs of others, and their risk taking without careful assessment and preparation to meet or address the consequences and outcomes of their actions.  Separation may seem a drastic remedy, at first, however, rightly understood and carried out with compassion, separation can be agreed upon as both the “best possible solution” and unavoidable.  (See Genesis  13:  1-18, Acts 15:  37-39 and 2nd Timothy 3:  1-5, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.  This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.  And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue:  whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.  And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him:  who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:  For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.  (Acts 18:  24-28, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Why Not One Bible? (11/02/2013); Origin of Baptism? (06/22/2013); Money-changers in the Temple? (06/23/2013); Church is Good? (06/15/2013); Feeling Loved By GOD? (06/16/2013); Church Mandatory? (05/06/2013); A GOD of Love? (05/07/2013); A Spirit Church? (04/04/2013); My Brother’s Keeper (04/05/2013); Attending Church? (11/12/2012); A Holy Kiss? (11/13/2012)

“JG”, here are a few points about baptism and becoming a Christian you should find useful:

(1.)  The thing that first draws us to Jesus Christ may be no more than curiosity such as drew Moses aside one day while he was going in from work.  He wanted to examine more closely something that had caught his eye, a flaming bush that gave off no smell or smoke, that when he had come closer, stopped and gazed on for a bit, continued to burn showing no ashes.  When Moses heard a voice speaking from the burning bush, he did not run away.  Instead, he was even more engaged, was sparked with questions, and desired to know and understand completely before he would walk away.  His intention, at first, was not to go aside to pray, to seek GOD, or to offer himself in service.  Even so, Moses prostrated himself in humility, having received, as it were, baptism by fire.  See Exodus 3:  1-14, KJV.

(2.)   Believers are to receive baptism as an experience wherein the same Spirit operates that served as agent in the creation of the earth, and the establishment of Adam as a living soul.  Baptism is a cosmic work that is not accomplished by human ceremonies, pageantry and rituals, nor by a believer’s intellect, imagination, and knowledge.  While the work of baptism is to purge (i.e., wash inside and out; clean through and through), and purify; baptism must also establish death, and rebirth whereby one acquires divine content (we say, divine DNA).

(3.)  Through baptism believers receive fresh endowment of divine substance.  GOD is a spirit, and does not exist displaying carnal, material, and physical characteristics except by using peculiar divine operations.  The substance of GOD may be described as such inseparable aspects of divinity as faith, forgiveness, gratitude, holiness, joy, truthfulness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  The incarnation of GOD (i.e., appearance using material form) is accepted as having been through a burning bush as well as through the person of Jesus of Nazareth.

There is far more to be said, correctly shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  Many denominations provide a church upon the earth for those upon the earth; and give less attention to being aware of sacred actions and divine presence.  A person desiring to become a member within a congregation and community of believers should respond to and trust only those who demonstrate correct, godly, and thorough knowledge of baptism and the many other elements of truth from GOD through Jesus Christ.  By “classes” offered before baptism, one is instructed and prepared for their own sacred transformation as well as given opportunity to determine whether a congregation may supply their personal needs for continued spiritual growth, learning, work and worship.  A pledge or membership agreement should not be entered into and sealed until after some “trial period” (for some, this is called “confirmation”).   A believer is to use the holy writings as the standard whereby one examines and tests the quality of what others may share.  After all, as what happened to Moses, baptism is a life-changing event, not just a tourist attraction, and more than simply social interaction.  Those born again are to learn, grow, and then perform service to GOD by their daily living that will lead others into right relationship with the Almighty.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  Surely The Light of the World will soon shine forth.  Happy Hanukkah to all.

(06/09/2013) Scriptures and Sayings?

A response is shared to a writer’s curiosity about the negative/positive character of Bible sayings.  Also, there is more on damnation, and if one is sent to hell.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Ben” (Level 1 with 10 points, a member since April 25, 2013) posted the following:

Is all scriptures and sayings in the bible all positives?

I am not doubting or anything. I am just curious.

THE BATTLE AXE:  If You Are Sent…? (06/08/2013)—  (5)  The separation of life from flesh is called “death” and the completion of mortality.  However, existence is not finished for those who die; and in the divine operations of first and second resurrection, the spirit of life is returned to the body it was taken from along with the aspects of consciousness, identity and person that had been removed.  The imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD that establishes adoption, rebirth, repentance, and sanctification while one is upon the earth returns to GOD at their death.  These are not returned to those who are resurrected, for higher levels of Spirit truth and perfection are bestowed upon believers as they are lifted up to be with Christ.  Angels do not die, and are neither immortal nor mortal.  The awareness, person and substance of angels endure as coherent being only through divine discretion, and by the will of GOD.  The lake of fire (also called, hell, perdition, the place of burning, and the place of torment) has been fashioned as a divine tool to remove the residue from operations of spirit, and all spirit content that no longer responds to the sovereign will of GOD.  The material that is sent to the lake of fire does not include any content from divine person, or aspect of divinity.  All features recognized as authority, awareness, character, dutifulness, expectation, feelings, integrity, personality, truth, and vision will no longer appear.  Those sent to hell can no longer exist as vessels for the peculiar endowments from GOD that establish angelic or human being.  Thus, the holy fire only destroys lifeless, mindless rubbish.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:  because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:  because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.  We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.  Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.  Beloved, let us love one another:  for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  (1st John 4:  1-10, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Words Spoken By GOD? (06/05/2013); Teachings on Judgment (06/06/2013); How To Accept Bible Truth (04/17/2013); About Preaching the Gospel (04/18/2013); A Guide to Salvation? (04/10/2013); Faith, Language and “Mystery” (04/11/2013); On Producing Atheists (03/16/2013); The Children, not the Dogs (03/17/2013); What to Take Literally (03/11/2013); A GOD of War? (03/12/2013)

Ben, it is good that you are curious; it was curiosity that got Moses to turn aside and view a burning bush, not belief, not faith, not perfect knowledge.  Here are some points based upon the Gospel and other holy writings that most mature Christians would agree are accurate and useful:

(1)  The Bible is a collection of writings that include reports of sacred events used by divinity to shape awareness and knowledge in created beings and living creatures.  Included are covenants, divine law, guidance and principles for interaction as a sanctified people of GOD, and judgments against sin.

(2)  The Bible is a tool used by GOD to reveal divine person (we say, the heart and mind of GOD).   The Bible provides a divine perspective and “God’s-eye” view of reality, showing the operations of GOD through thousands of lives, over thousands of years.

(3)  The Bible is a tool used by GOD to further assist created beings and living creatures in detecting and resisting sin.  Sin is a non-material influence that may dominate self-will in the living.  Sin is not a spirit substance, has not been created by GOD or any created being, and (in this sense) sin is invisible.  Sin was first discerned and recognized through actions and attitudes displayed by Lucifer among the holy angels.

(4)  GOD has provided many gifts that enable the angels and mankind to detect and overcome sin.  Included are divine law, anointed judges, examples from lives of committed believers, patriarchs, prophets, divinely appointed rulers, and his own appearance upon the earth Incarnate.  GOD is not subject to sin; and all Creation is being transformed to eliminate sin through the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD and the ministry of Jesus Christ.

(There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5)  The Bible includes many accounts of human frailty.  The curses that are incurred through defiance, disobedience, and disrespect of GOD are described in detail.  Graphic language is used to clarify the horror and ugliness of betrayal, rebellion, stubbornness, treachery, and weakness.  Yet, the Bible also describes and explains the many divine provisions (we say, blessings) that counter and undo ruin caused through sin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/02/2013) Emotional Appeal?

Whether Christian belief is primarily by emotions and feelings are the topic, today, along with more on family as a divine tool. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Daniel” (Level 5 with 5,666 points, a member since January 20, 2013) posted the following:

True or False: The only reason Christians accept Jesus’ story is because it appeals to them emotionally?

THE BATTLE AXE: A Family Affair? (04/01/2013)—(8.) The immutable and unchanging aspects of marriage and family derive from operations of the Spirit of GOD that establish spiritual union for couples with one another, and for a sacred bond to GOD. Marriage and family thus pertain to the inner spirit of mankind; and are not merely carnal, material, sexual and social. (9.) As a divine tool, family provides continuity in relationship to the Holy whereby the eternal word of GOD is accomplished despite the temporal existence of individual persons. Thus, birthright, dynasty and inheritance effect proclamation, promise, prophecy and a broad array of sacred purposes. Included are admonition, adoption, confession, judgment, and revelation. (10.) While the human institution of family may be defended, disciplined, encouraged, given instruction and nourished by the divine institution, the church, human family is ineffective as an instrument of GOD because of diversity, secular emphasis, emotionalism, lack of unity, partiality, pride, and spiritual confusion. Answers for family are greater than answers from family. (11.) In a Christian home, the husband is accountable as head of the household, and along with his spouse is the agent and spokesperson of GOD to their children. The children are respected as both a gift from GOD, and an offering to please and serve GOD (See Deuteronomy 6: 4-9, Psalms 127: 1-5, Proverbs 17: 6 and Matthew 19: 14, King James Version).

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. (2nd Corinthians 7: 8-11, King James Version)

Daniel, there are many things that must be carefully understood, here, from a godly point of view. Don’t hesitate to go to GOD in prayer, and ask for assistance as you consider the following:

(1.) Shared feelings and experiences of emotion are a legitimate dimension of fellowship with GOD. Joy, sorrow and wrath against sin bind Christian believers to one another, the holy angels, and all the persons within the GODhead (Father, Son and Holy Ghost).

(2.) Moses was drawn to the burning bush by curiosity, not by ambition to become a spiritual leader, desire to become a prophet, hunger for a spiritual experience, or motivation to have an encounter with GOD (Genesis 3: 1-5, KJVJ). Like appetite (hunger, thirst, craving for sexual contact), sensation (e.g., hearing, tasting, touching), and mental function (e.g., imagination, thought, and memory), the human aspect of feelings can serve as a “starting point” for ones journey of discovery for the things from GOD. However, because feeling is temporal (i.e., endures only for a limited period), feelings cannot be the foundation for identity as a child of GOD. Anger—that resulted in Moses” not being allowed to set foot upon the Promised Land—bitterness, doubt and fear are also very powerful as feelings, and are poor platforms for experience of Christ.

(3.) Feeling is transformed through operations of the Holy Spirit such that their meaning and value appear as if generated from outside of a believer. Thus, a believers “hope” is a matter of what he is commanded to expect (e.g., the coming of Jesus), rather than what he desires (I hope for a car, a house, a better job, a wife, etc.) Many having a “root of bitterness” and anger against GOD, appear calm, quiet, or studious on the surface. Yet, their spirit substance is in turmoil. (See Hebrews 12: 14-16, KJV.)

(4.) While baptism demonstrates the truth that believers die and are re-born from divine DNA, so to speak, many endure “growing pains” and spiritual confusion, because there are so many “unchanged” features in their new life. Those who were right-handed, remain right-handed; those who were left-handed, continue as left-handed. Believers continue with carnal, material and social challenges. The new nature from GOD is to be realized as spiritual awareness, divine content (e.g., faith, holiness, humility, longsuffering, wisdom), and sacred purpose.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5.) Spiritual maturity and perfection does not come “overnight.” The process of GOD for mankind in the earth requires a full realization of mortality (i.e., death and resurrection) before the bestowal of incorruptibility and immortality.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
