Today, thoughts are shared on almsgiving, charity, compassion, and unselfish service among Christian believers and the poor.  For most modern-day problems and troubles, money frequently turns out  to be a primary need; however, where careful and godly assessment are made, we also discover there should be humility, intercessory prayer, laying ones petitions before GOD, and displaying gratitude with giving of thanks.  Born again and developing Christian believers will be endowed with spirit substance from the makeup of GOD to enable their endurance of challenges, opposition, persecution, and suffering.  Even so, those living in distress and enduring hardship often practice bestowing respect, celebrating abundance and plenty, lending without interest or usury, sacrifice and demanding from oneself along with personal sharing as obligatory, precious, and indispensable.  Similarly, as those in covenant relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ and those joined to divinity as his sacred body on the earth, the church acknowledges a duty from GOD to supply its own members who are less fortunate.  Those having no income or savings generally include babies, minor children, the clergy, orphans, teenagers, the elderly, and widows, who in turn, make commitment to minister and serve others around them—even those outside the church—through personal outreach and sharing.  Creating, improvising, and finding new applications for old solutions become important, and further establish oneness without sameness.  One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shared) posted the following:


Spiritually why do those less fortunate become the first ones to help in times of troubles?

Hoping those who have the ability wake up and help those less fortunate in the world and stop being so selfish.

“Anonymous”, here are some points of explanation that came to my mind that might have to be examined by careful research and study before we could agree that they truly apply:

(1.)  Many among those less fortunate are quick to support others because their principles and values for survival tend to emphasize cooperation, protecting and sharing with one another, and unselfish giving.  By contrast, survival among the wealthy and well-to-do often demands and legitimizes aggression, competition, discipline, and self-promotion.

(2.)  The focus of those less successful tends to be present conditions, and any crisis at hand; while successful people have been described as those who focus on goals, what is possible, where they want to be, and what they actually want to achieve within a set time frame.

(3.)  The lifestyle and daily routines of Christian believers often generate less anxiety over carnal, material, secular, and social issues.  Those who maintain a healthy, regular prayer life, can express great freedom from anxiety and other emotional, psychological, and spiritual conditions that generate stress and worry

(4.)  Among the poor and less fortunate, strength and wisdom also are accepting what comes, and timely surrender without abandoning faith or hope.  Focus on need is used as a defense by those less fortunate to limit ambition, distraction, greed, and exaggerated pride.

Of course, there is far more that could be said.  (For example, consider again the testimony of the Apostle Paul who describes the lifestyle and mindset for those helping to prepare the harvest for Jesus at his Advent (we also say, his appearing, the Rapture, the Second Coming):  (5.)    Philippians 4:  11-13, King James Version (KJV):  11 Not that I speak in respect of want:  for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.  12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:  every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.  13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(03/12/2017) The Bible on "Soulmates"?

Today, language regarding romantic love, life companionship, and spiritual maturity are topics.  Unity through Jesus Christ is that of one faith, one Lord, One baptism, one GOD and Father of all.  Even so, many desire and feel a consuming need for life companionship and abiding love.  Relationships as “soulmates” are believed one of the highest and purest forms of love because they are not subject to the laws of time and space, and are thought to maintain their strength despite emotional, physical and temporal hardships or separation.  As with marriage, a connection and bond as soulmates is not intended by GOD to disrupt or replace the permanence of family, yet, often is felt to be stronger and more fulfilling than that between parents and their child, or among birth brothers and sisters.  Some confuse the idea of “soul” with those of “character”,  “determination or inner might,” “personality”, “self-will” and “will power.”  The expression “soulmates” is used repeatedly to describe intimate relationships of mutual acceptance, approval, full commitment, respect, and trust that are intended to continue indefinitely (i.e., for ever; without break-up or interruption; without end).  Often the idea of being soulmates is linked with concerns about attraction, “chemistry”, “love at first sight,” and “magnetism” at the start of relationships; fate; inescapable events; divine predestination; suspension of ones own accountability for occurrences and their consequences as well as yielding to a mystifying attraction.  Yet, it is only by the active presence and workings of divinity that the living achieve or experience lasting and stable relationships, or even what may be a one-time sacred event (we also say, miracle), revealing oneness without sameness.  The holy writings describe how “living souls” have been created and placed upon the earth to exist and experience operations of divine transformation (e.g., growth, rebirth, judgment, perfection, revelation) to serve as “soul mates” and life companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity.  The fighter at “Yahoo! “?”, correctly understood, “soulmates” are thought to be more than mere partners who share casual sex and a “one night affair.”  Fascinated and stirred by language in the Bible, creative and imaginative musicians, and other artists often have developed and shared very memorable non-biblical and secular presentations that carry great weight within modern culture.  Many understand the “soul” as the inner material of humanity that makes us who and what we truly are in relationships with others.  The idea of “soul” found in the Book of Genesis, describes “Adam” as a living entity produced by the union of a divinely fashioned form and breath (we also say, life essence; spirit; the spark of life; word) from GOD.  Unlike David, who was “knit” to the son of King Saul in a spirit-bond of friendship (we also say charity, love), the male Adam received the female as an aspect of his own flesh and person.  For mature Christian believers who are grounded in sacred knowledge recorded as Scripture, it is the image of GOD that makes us who and what we are in relationships.  Only GOD is eternal (not the angels); and there is no immortal soul or soul that exists without the active presence of divine Spirit.  The state of the dead as described in the Bible does not include having intellect, mind, or spirit; and the dead “praise not God.”  Poets have long used the idea of “soul” to describe enduring, seemingly timeless, and unforgettable episodes in human experience that include intense emotional, psychological, and social experiences.  Examples include sexual initiation, “puppy love,” courtship, marriage, the birth of ones first child, the death of ones own parents, the lingering of sorrow and “the blues.”  The Bible provides simple, yet profound, instruction on marriage and sexual joining without using the specific language of “souls” being permanently bound together that may only be released and separated through divinity.  Even so, serious warnings appear against “fornication” (i.e., defilement, domination, or weakening of ones inborn spirit, and coming under the control of absent, unseen spirits through sexual joining with a partner who is physically present).  Consider again the following:

(1.)  Genesis 2:  7-8, King James Version (KJV):  7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

(2.)  1st Samuel 18:  1-3, KJV:  1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.  2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house.  3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

(3.)  Luke 10:  25-28, KJV:  25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?  26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?  27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.  28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right:  this do, and thou shalt live.

Best way to contribute to my church?

It's an unusual situation where 2 churches combined into one. 2 senior pastors, and about 80 regular members (small church) One preacher I don't care for in over 300lbs, lazy, and cherry picks his associates, lives in a 1/4 mil home where most of us live in 150K homes, has 4 kids, nice car, only 30 or so, The other is great, I don't think their on a salary but split the pot. If I give, it goes to both

Update: When we are singing or the other preacher preaches....fat boy just plays on his smart phone. I've talked about this with my PhD shrink and he says to stay, just skip the bad preachers sermon weeks, in bible study and have lots of friends there

Update 2: Oh, I'm not being swindled, I only give $5 currently.

Update 3: I would eventually give around $100 a month to support the church bills and pastors salary....not much, but is for me. I believe it makes sense to be apart of a church on many levels and it does me a lot of good, I have made many good friends there and have grown closer to the Lord.

“Anonymous”, many are satisfied to experience the church as a carnal and social reality.  Their focus centers in personal communication, exchange, and interaction.  However, all who are called to Christ must take on a new understanding, and “see with new eyes.”  The goal is to become like Christ, a child and heir to GOD.  Thus, more correctly understood, the church is a divine tool to establish permanent changes that will result in mankind becoming immortal and incorruptible at the coming of Jesus Christ.  Believers are to become “ripe” for harvest; and this must begin with baptism (death of ones inborn spirit and rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak).  Once “born again,” the believer must “grow up” again, and become mature by meeting life challenges upon the earth.  By continuous observation of sacred practices (some say, sacraments) believers maintain the peculiar forms of law we call self-control and self-discipline.  The followers of Jesus will acquire sacred knowledge through ongoing fellowship with more experienced believers, regular prayer and worship, study of the holy writings, and unselfish service that demonstrates and proclaims the gospel message to others.  It remains, our spiritual value to one another depends upon our being in correct relationship with GOD through Christ.  The following Scriptures may help you achieve clearer focus:

(1.)  Jeremiah 3:  15, King James Version (KJV):  15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

(2.)  Hebrews 13:  17, KJV:  17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves:  for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief, for that is unprofitable for you.

(3.)  1st Timothy 5:  19, KJV:  19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

(4.)  1st Samuel 16:  7, KJV:  7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him:  For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

(5.)  James 2:  8-10, KJV:  8 If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:  9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.  10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

“Big Mo”, here are a few points from my understanding that also may nourish Christian belief:

(1.)  Because GOD is a spirit, the various aspects of salvation should not be thought of as discrete, limited, and temporal (having only a fixed duration).  When all the demands for completeness, fullness, maturity and wholeness will be met, mankind will have been transformed to be immortal and incorruptible.  Thus, we say, GOD will have established the believer in perfection. 

(2.)  Because mankind remains in flesh, there are multiple divine operations that must be carried out within the life of a Christian believer.  Included are atonement, baptism (death of the inborn spirit, rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak), forgiveness, judgment, repentance, resurrection, revelation, and sanctification.  Through the ministry of Jesus Christ, believers now receive a fresh endowment of that same Spirit that was breathed into Adam, and upon those apostles that were gathered after the crucifixion.  Inseparable (where one appears, all may be found) aspects from the makeup of GOD are imparted such as faith, holiness, humility, joy, longsuffering, love, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  While faith is made up only of faith, holiness only of holiness, these features are eternal, immutable aspects of divinity.  The exchange, interaction, movement and shifts among these features establish the active presence we call GOD.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  The question, What’s more important for breathing, lungs or oxygen, does not acknowledge that the two are bound in a peculiar life process.  Similarly, the question on salvation does not take into account that a divine point of view must be taken along with that from the flesh.  Thus, in 1st Corinthians 13:  1-13, King James Version, the Apostle Paul proclaims that, among the three (faith, hope and charity), charity (we say, love) is the greatest.  Time and space, the usual frameworks used to determine position and value for human experience, are not always useful when focus is upon ones spirit content, and the process of spiritual growth.  Prophecy and other language in the holy writings that speak regarding things inseparable from salvation are often “on condition;” may juxtapose and display unusual pairings; may omit direct reference to things present yet unseen; and may provide no clear temporal sequence.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

The basis for deliverance, judgment, and salvation along with what happens to those who lack knowledge about GOD and Christ are topics, today.  Also, there is more on judgment as an aspect of divine revelation.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Lost Thyme” (Level 5 with 6,365 points, a member since April 11, 2010) posted the following:

THE BATTLE AXE:  Teachings on Judgment (06/06/2013)— (6)  In divine judgment, the inner spirit of created beings and living creatures are identified as depicted through life records that detail their behavior and conduct (we say, “deeds” and “works”).  So to speak, all are rated and ranked according to aspects of conformity and likeness to the spiritual image of Christ; and focus is more upon what you are than what you do.  Simply that one attends church, makes donations to charities, or spends hours in prayer is not sufficient for eternal life.  Behavioral dimensions are examined such as authority, consistency, creativity, diligence, dutifulness, faithfulness, honesty, kindness, obedience, selflessness, sincerity, strength, and sweetness.  However, those selected to have permanent existence within the sphere of divine person must also display an acceptable measure of inseparable divine substance.  Thus, in addition to faith, holiness, humility, joy, longsuffering, righteousness, truth and wrath against sin, one of the most important features will be “charity” (also called “love”).  See Matthew 7:  21-23, KJV.  (7)  Like Creation, Judgment is accepted by believers as a defining aspect of what makes GOD a unique Divine Person.   Peace and restoration of order are the products of Judgment, not wars of conquest and expansion.  Judgment is always a benefit and blessing to Creation, for Judgment is the resolution of conflict, and the settlement of disputes through law.  Because law enforcement and rule through law may impose harsh penalties and severe punishment upon those who persist as rebels, many complain against Judgment and defy the law as being arbitrary, cruel, enslaving, excessive, unrighteous, and violent.  With law (the expressed will of GOD), Creation and Judgment will continue long after the destruction of those who oppose the existence of GODhead, and who promote continuing sin as freedom and personal liberty.   See Psalm 37:  1-40, Romans 8:  1-10, 1st Corinthians 13:  1-14, Galatians 5:  13-25, and Nahum 1:  7-9, King James Version.

Dear Lost Thyme, here are some points of consideration often missed even by those who have embraced Christian belief for decades:

(1)  Deliverance, judgment, and salvation by GOD through Jesus Christ are sacred events that appear as divine self-expression (we say, grace), and are not caused by a person’s beliefs, their knowledge of doctrine, scriptures, and teachings, their intelligence, their opinions, or any aspect of their mental functioning , including their imagination, logic, memory, and reason.  Even so, those elements are vital for participation in families, sacred assemblies, congregations to serve the Lord, and worship communities.  Harmony is  fostered and further made possible only by collective experience, shared information, and common practice.

(2)  In the judgment of GOD, behavior and conduct are examined and focused upon only as material indicators for the absence or presence of spirit content from the make-up of GOD, who is a spirit.  While a person’s spirit content may be amplified or nourished by reading the Bible and completing religious studies, divine spirit cannot be acquired by any secular learning process.  The Holy Spirit must be imparted (sent forth from GOD); and may only be acquired through baptism (we may say, death of ones sinful nature, followed by rebirth from divine DNA).  More than simply a ceremony or ritual practiced only among believers within groups known as “churches,” baptism must be understood as a spiritual operation of GOD that may go out to all, everywhere, no matter what their belief system, economic status, language, or national origin.

(3)  As those who acknowledge Jesus as the Son of GOD, Christian believers enter into a covenant agreement that establishes an intimate and personal relationship with GOD; and believers do not continue to exist as abstract objects manufactured by a remote Creator.  Confidence, personal integrity, self-will, and volition (we say, choice) are aspects of continuing in right relationship.  However, because GOD is immortal, immutable, incorruptible, and unchanging, all believers are challenged to embrace godly disciplines, non-negotiable laws, limits, sacred duties, spiritual operations, and eternal purposes.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4)  At their Creation, all created beings and living creatures were endowed with spirit matter that was emanated and put forth from the person of GOD.  Through sin (we say, corruption and error) the will of the living is defiled and weakened.  GOD is not subject to sin, and sin is no material or spirit thing created by GOD.  Yet, sin has dominated self-will in created beings and living creatures.  Now, through Jesus Christ, added measures of divinity may be received that further enable mankind to detect, avoid and resist sin.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
