(12/13/2015) The Scale of Salvation?

Forgiveness, divine power, and the process of salvation are topics, today.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Michael” (Level 1 with 26 points, a member since October 26, 2015) posted the following:

Why did GOD sacrifice Jesus when he could have just forgave them all with his ALMIGHTY powers?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:  as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  (Romans 1:  16-22, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Eternal Life Not Afterlife (08/11/2015); Power Against Sin? (04/12/2015); Eternal Life by Means of Carnal Death (11/28/2014); Salvation Before Christ? (06/24/2014); All Sins Are Equal? (06/25/2014); Forgiveness? (12/07/2010); Conspiracy? (12/08/2010)

“Michael”, here are some ideas to consider.  Condemning sin and enabling the living to overcome and resist sin at their level are part of a larger work of revelation to make GOD known who is eternal, immortal, and invisible.  For most Christian believers, the scale for all divine process can be recognized as boundless, cosmic, and grand.  Eternal purposes must come into view that are being generated and put forth by the very agents who establish existence in all its diversity.  There must be correction (for some punishment), healing, and recovery.  Forgiveness is more than simply dismissing anger and insult, or forgetting damage and hurt that have occurred.  Created beings and living creatures have been provided with consciousness and self-will to function as independent entities separate from the Creator.  Yet, they only have integrity and enduring quality as they contain aspects of spirit substance from the makeup of Deity.  Only inseparable aspects of divine being make possible communication, exchange, and interaction with divinity.  Included are faith, holiness, longsuffering, love, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and all that responds to divine order through sacred law.  Sin may dominate awareness and self-will in mankind.  Sin can not be eliminated without upheaval and reconfiguration of the full universe.  Immutable, unchanging divinity is the reference and stable point for all order, rather than choice, intellect, and will in the living.  Thus, the created have been designed to experience continual change, and may be altered through various sacred operations having multiple levels.  Divine tools for the transformation of humanity to being eternal companions for GOD include atonement, confession, covenant relationship, death, Incarnation, judgment, rebirth, repentance, resurrection, suffering, and eternal life.  The following points from the Bible also may help:

(1.)  Isaiah 59:  1-4, King James Version (KJV):  1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened that it can not save; neither his ear heavy that he can not hear:  2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.  3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.  4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth:  they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

(2.)  Isaiah 55:  7-11, KJV:  7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts:  and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the LORD.   9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:  11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:  it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

(3.)  1st Corinthians 2:  11-14, KJV:  11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of a man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto him:  neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

There are many other verses that should be carefully considered, correctly understood, and made a part of ones sacred knowledge.  (For example, (4.)  1st Corinthians 1:  18, KJV:  18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
