(03/21/2019) The Platform of Spirit

Today, reply is on Jesus replacing commands from the Old Testament as no longer being relevant. Through Christ, a fresh endowment from the divine character, process and substance of GOD is provided to replace ones inborn spirit. Properly understood, Jesus Christ did not annul, cancel, or reject “the law and the prophets” so much as he fulfilled prophecy; exposed the errors from observing human customs and traditions, rather than fulfilling the law; promoted acknowledging grace and righteousness, rather than obedience to the law; and insisted that the meaning, process and value of the law be acknowledged as expressions of divine fullness (e.g., divine prerogative; consecrated love; sacred promise; eternal purpose; the sovereign will of GOD). It is written: Jeremiah 31: 31-34, King James Version (KJV): 31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. A fighter in the “Yahoo! Answers” public forum on Religion and Spirituality who uses the ID “영진”(Level 4 with 2,674 points, a member since ) posted the following:

Why are the old testament commands no longer bindings?

A confused lady visited a pastor, she asks "why we eat porks, when the bible say pigs are forbidden to eat?(Lev. 11 7-8) and "why we prays differently from Jesus" (Matthew 4 17 & Luke 2 21)

The Pastor replied "The old testamemt commands are no longer relevant for Christians"

But the Woman denied that according to the Bible "The Law of God will not change until the end of time" (Matthew 5 18)

Who s right?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. (Romans 3: 20-26, King James Version, KJV)

영진”, here are some points mature Christian believers will consider:

1. Jesus Christ has established a new platform for the primary meanings and operations of covenant relationship between mankind and the Creator.

2. The Covenant of Moses (often called, “the law” in Scripture) provided those who left Egypt as 12 tribes and a mixed multitude was established through their shared experience featuring tablets of law written by the finger of GOD as well as divine utterance to all who were assembled at the base of Mount Horeb.

3. Commands, ordinances, regulations, and statutes were added to the Decalogue (the Ten Commandments) in order to ensure the correct performance of ceremonies, memorials, observances and rituals within the tabernacle (e.g., atonement, circumcision, diet, offerings, sacrifice); in order to resolve recurring conflicts and settle civil disputes within the camp(s); and in order to establish a shared identity for Israel as the people of GOD.

There is far more that should be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, 4. Where created beings and living creatures were bound and connected to one another by commitments, contracts, and promises that were to be performed on the basis of ones own self-will (we also say, the flesh; willpower), the new testament features the blood (breath; life essence; spirit; word) of Jesus whereby the bond among believers is through a fresh endowment of spirit substance from the makeup of GOD, and making visible the spirit from GOD contained within the law is paramount. Included are faith, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, oneness without sameness, personhood, righteousness, wisdom, and wrath against sin.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. (01/25/2018) Meanings for "These Three"?

Today, the meanings of divine faith, hope and love are considered in the light of the personhood of GOD being spirit substance that also puts forth flesh and blood.  Among Christian believers these three are made visible in lovingkindness, obedience, respect, restraint, and sacrifice (we say, unselfish giving).  One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum using the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information appears) posted the following:

Christians: What does it mean , that GOD Loves you? and what does that Love do for you?

....and what is hope. isn't hope just a wish.
...and faith what about faith

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another:  for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour:  therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:  for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  The night is far spent, the day is at hand:  let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.  (Romans 13:  7-14, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Through Love Not Persuasion? (01/18/2018); Praying For “More Faith”? (01/12/2018); What Do Christians Expect? (01/09/2018); To Define “Godly Love” (08/20/2017); The Practice of Love (07/27/2017); Divine Law Expresses Love (05/10/2017); Hope That Is True
Saying (02/20/2017); “GOD is Love” (12/18/2016); Herein Is True Love (10/21/2016)

“Anonymous”, the definitions and meanings for “faith”, “hope”, and “love” that are used by Christian believers must be received as elements within a full system and vocabulary of sacred things, and things that pertain to duration, existence, immortality, incorruption, and sovereignty.  Just as more than simply passing, or temporal emotions, feelings and thoughts must come into view, inseparable, unseen aspects of the content and makeup of GOD always must be addressed.  For example, there also are forbearance, holiness, oneness without sameness, eternal purpose, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.
Deity must provide the elements that allow created beings and living creatures to be in continuous, ongoing communication, exchange, and interaction with themselves (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit).  Only by the multiple operations of GOD can divinity exist to the living as knowable, known, accessible, and approachable.  Sinners must search for, and discover within their own life experiences the many points of truth that fit together as divine revelation, and sacred knowledge in place of secular knowledge.

There is no single object or thing to completely, correctly describe all that is involved where we speak of faith, hope, and love.  Therefore, throughout the holy writings we find different and new expressions to “approximate” (i.e., get increasingly closer) to the full and most necessary understandings.  For this reason, definitions will vary in agreement with the intent of the statement they appear in; in agreement with the peculiar covenant relationships shared by GOD and those of his creation; in agreement with various sacred operations (e.g., deliverance, judgment, reconciliation, salvation, sanctification); and in agreement with specific proclamation, promises, and prophecies.

Because “love” pertains to the “quality” of ones experience of life, “to love” is to impart, or add dimension (e.g., completeness, depth, richness) and value to another without demanding payment, or return.  Because believers are commanded to be forward-looking, main specific memorials and observances, and prepare to witness fulfillment of all divine utterance, “to hope” is to obey commands to continue in expectation of the word of GOD actually being carried out, performed, and completed by GOD.  Because “faith” is a blending of accountability, commitment, and integrity of ones makeup, “to have faith” is to display balance, maturity, stability, and a similitude of divine immutability (we say, “the image of GOD;” the likeness of the unchanging character and nature of GOD).  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  John 4:  23-24, King James Version (KJV):  23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  24 God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

(2.)  Colossians 3:  9-17, KJV:  9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;  10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:  11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free:  but Christ is all, and in all.  12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any:  even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.  16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(01/18/2018) Through Love Not Persuasion

As depicted through the parable of the Prodigal son, where we choose to leave, our heavenly Father will daily look for signs of our return.  See Luke 15:  20, King James Version (KJV):  And he arose, and came to his father.  But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Today, reply is on spiritual growth, leaving the fold (apostasy), and returning to the body of Christ.  In the same way, none should not be able to break, or make the bond between a mother and her child simply by using cheap talk and conversation, becoming a new creation through Jesus Christ should not be regarded as something that may be accomplished, undone, or denied to sinners merely by using verbal argument, lies, and persuasion.  Even so, many young people abandon their relationship with GOD through Christ and his church before they have received anointing by the Holy Spirit, or have become sufficiently mature enough, and skilled enough, to respond to life challenges as an adult having more than the tools of their childhood.  One of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum who uses the ID “Anonymous” (no profile information shown) posted the following:

I m leaving christanity because they couldnt convince that God is one !?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts:  and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:  it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace:  the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.  Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree:  and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.  (Isaiah 55:  6-13, King James Version, KJV)

(10/13/2016); The Sheep Who Lost Their Way? (11/18/2014); Restoring The Lost? (11/19/2014); Belief, Faith, and Proof (03/02/2014); Miracles and Visitations? (03/03/2014)

“Anonymous”, sinners are to come to Christ through operations of divine love, not argument, debate, and persuasion.  However, exalting the flesh, romance, and sexual adventure, many reject and resist godly love.  Before the imparted Spirit from GOD begins to operate within and through our own lives, it is as though we do not have eyes, yet, we sincerely want to see.  Such finite human tools as academic knowledge, emotion, intellect, logic, philosophy, carnal reason, secular knowledge, and science can not replace acknowledgment of the divine law, memorials, and sacraments provided by GOD (e.g., praise through hymns and songs; private prayer; Sabbath-keeping); fellowship with and shared respect from those having sacred knowledge; regular study of the holy writings; and use of discernment (ability to apply ones own spirit content from the makeup of Deity as a standard to recognize and respond to the same spirit as it resides within other persons, events, messages, prophecy, purposes, etc.).

Coming to Christ is described as an organic, personal process of joining, and is not a matter of going through multi-staged mechanical procedure.  A sinner must engage divinity through continuing discovery; by enduring life challenges and “growing pains” that may include hardship and suffering; by gradual growth to become mature/ripe for harvest when the Lord returns; and by undergoing permanent changes that appear as simple, yet, are profound (far-reaching in their application, connections, and consequences).

Yes, there are many who complain saying, GOD is threatening them; others are seeking to brainwash and manipulate their minds; and GOD uses coercion and fear to force acceptance of his authority.  However, in the same way accountability and commitment identify mature love relationships, and the lack of those elements expose immature romance, infatuation, and “puppy love,” the arguments and claims by those who think and speak disbelief can be recognized as simple (misdirected; misinformed; underdeveloped).  Unlike those who are hostile, filled with malice, self-destructive, and ungodly, the simple make such attacks in the effort to gain emotional and psychological strength.  Only in time do they realize, the strength of their spirit has not been increased and nourished.

Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Proverbs 20:  11, King James Version (KJV):  11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

(2.)  Jeremiah 4:  22, KJV:  22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding:  they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

(3.)  Romans 8:  35-39, KJV:  35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  James 4:  7-10, KJV:  7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.  9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:  let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.  10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(02/10/2016) Called Slaves by GOD?

Today, the error of describing relationship to divinity through Christ as a form of chattel slavery is in view.  Willing servitude (as opposed to forced labor), expresses affection, devotion, humility and love (we say, desire to add value).  Throughout the Scriptures, language appears to declare the place of the created with the Creator.  There were those who served Israel as “slaves” to GOD; however, only by human arrogance, error, exploitation, and sin were such living sacrifices taken to be ones own personal belongings and “private property.”  Consider the following, and the presentation below:

Psalms 84:  9-11, King James Version (KJV):  9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.  10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.  11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield:  the LORD will give grace and glory:  no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Ezekiel 34:  31, KJV:  31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.

Matthew 18:  1-4, KJV:  1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?  2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,  3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

1st John 3:  1-3, KJV:  1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:  therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:  but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1st Corinthians 7:  21-23, KJV:  21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.  22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman:  likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.  23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other:  for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.  (Luke 18:  9-14, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Fulfilling Divine Law? (07/14/2015); Slaves to Sin? (04/13/2015); Law, Slavery and Redemption (09/13/2013); Only One GOD (09/14/2013); The Slave to Law and Sin Made Free (11/16/2012); Lawful Divorce (11/17/2012)

“Anonymous”, Christian believers are to continually acknowledge the exalted sovereignty of GOD, and their own status as dependent with other created beings and living creatures in relationship to our Maker.  GOD is the single and sole source for the many sacred benefits, opportunities, and possibilities provided to the living.  Included are atonement, correction, forbearance, forgiveness, promise, prophecy, rebirth, resurrection, and sanctification.  Correct language to describe the bond with Deity established through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit must repeatedly acknowledge our gratitude, our indebtedness, our continuing infirmity and need as well as our desire for greater closeness and intimacy.  Varying levels of shared affection, respect and trust must come into view, therefore, obedience and servitude are to be understood as indicators and marks of ones love.  The words used, then, describe relationships that also are through the law, and lawful such as child, disciple, prisoner, servant, and slave.  Consider how this may appear in verses from the holy writings:

(1.)  Exodus 21:  5-6, King James Version (KJV):  5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:  6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

(2.)  John 15:  14-16, KJV:  14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.  15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth:  but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.  16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:  that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

(3.)  Romans 8:  16-18, KJV:  16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

(4.)  2nd Timothy 1:  7-9, KJV:  7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:  but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;  9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  Colossians 3:  12-15, KJV:  12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any:  even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(12/01/2015) A GOD of Judgment

Scripture points are shared on accountability and whether mankind is being held to divine standards.  Various principles for judgment, trust, and sanctified relationship are in place between divinity and mankind through the ministry of Jesus Christ.  The bonds that continually connect the created and the Creator include duty, exclusive devotion, expectation (hope), fidelity, respect, imparted spirit, and sacrifice.  As aspects of the full Divine Person who is eternal and immutable, judgment and wrath against sin also must be revealed, and may not be manipulated; however, the basis and focus of judgment can be altered and transformed.  In Christ, it is secondary that men are accountable for sins; believers are accountable instead for such aspects of new life as acknowledgment, divine gifts, gratitude, praise, reverence, producing spiritual fruit, serving divinity, and worship.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Jay” (Level 1 with 90 points, a member since March 30, 2014) posted the following:

Why do some Christians say god holds us accountable for our actions, yet other Christians say god does "NOT" hold us accountable?

So, we have Christians here insisting god does 2 "opposite" things. This proves that Christians make it up as they go along and have NO IDEA of what their god thing is or isn't.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.  But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;  The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.  And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.  But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:  and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.  (Luke 12:  47-48, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Accountability and Challenge, Not Blame (09/03/2015); Judgment Begins at Believers? (08/16/2015); Why Believe? (11/12/2014); Light Is Come Into the World (11/13/2014); What Salvation Is (01/25/2014); Bible Justice? (01/25/2014); Resisting Sin (12/21/2013); When People Covet (12/22/2013)

“Jay”, there are numberless things that explain the differences between and among Christian believers (for example, age, birth order, culture, ethnicity, geographical origin).  Even so, regarding the sacred operations for redemption, salvation, and the maintenance of divine Creation, there is only one faith, one baptism, one GOD and Father of all.  The divinity we serve as Christian believers is what some call a “god of judgment.”  Divinity continues to display and reveal eternal purposes, and impart sacred substance through divine law, judgment, prophecy, and truth. Consider again the following points from the Bible:

(1.)   Exodus 20:  1-7, King James Version (KJV):  1 And God spake all these words, saying,  2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.  5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:  for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.  7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

(2.)  Ezekiel 18:  19-21, KJV:  19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.  20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:  the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.  21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

(3.)  Ephesians 4:  4-6, KJV:  4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,  6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

(4.)  2nd Timothy 4: 1-3, KJV:  1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;  2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.  3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  2nd Timothy 1:  7-10, KJV:  7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:  but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;  9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,  10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: )  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Many are called, but few will show themselves to be the elect.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
