(11/12/2014) Why Believe?

The reality of sin, wickedness, and belief in atonement through Christ are topics, today.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Some Guy” (Level 1 with 203 points, a member since April 13, 2009) posted the following:

Why should I believe that Jesus died for me?

This is a serious question.

Unless Jesus himself wrote the bible with his own hands and signed it on one of the pages, then why should I believe the bible. And if one of my neighbors comes up to me and says, "hey! Believe in this guy we tortured years and years and years ago because we think he is god! And if you don't you're going to hell you sinny sinny sinner! I'm free to sin all I want cause I have FAITH! YEAH!" My response would be... Who? What guy? Where?

So I ask again, having said all that. Why should I believe some virgin born man named jesus died for me thousands of years ago.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also:  knowing that tribulation worketh patience;  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die:  yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.  (Romans 5:  1-10, KJV)

“Some Guy”, here are a few points Christ is pleased to share with you:

(1.)  Sin and wickedness are not figments of your imagination, and can not be eliminated from the earth by finite human emotions, intellect, logic, mathematics, reason, and science.

(2.)  Sin and wickedness are not living entities or material things in the physical world.  Yet, they may dominate and destroy your human relationships (e.g., family, friendship, marriage).

(3.)  The complete makeup of humanity includes spirit content that can be diminished, focused, increased, removed and suppressed.  Spirit matter from the makeup of divinity (e.g., faith, forbearance, forgiveness, holiness, joy, longsuffering, wisdom, and wrath against sin) permit accomplishment of necessary tasks among created beings and living creatures.  Included are atonement, birth, death, completing perfection (we say, maturity), praise, salvation, sanctification, and worship (i.e., a correct response to divine revelation).

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The living are all to operate under the sovereign authority and divine order generated by GOD.  All are to have their own separate character and personality that serve as mechanisms of self-control and self-government.  However, all will be held accountable for their own application of the gifts for life from GOD.  Without divine provisions, through sin and wickedness the awareness and self-will can be corrupted, the inward spirit defiled, and ones integrity as being in the image of sacred person can be destroyed.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
