Today, focus is upon a Scripture teaching that Jesus is the Word (see John 1: 14, KJV). Also, there is more on intercessory prayer. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Kelvin” (Level 2 with 835 points, a member since August 17, 2013) posted the following:
Christians - What does it mean to say that Jesus is God's Word?
In the Bible, John begins with this verse: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,”. I learnt that Jesus is the Word. So my question is what it means to be the Word of God? I'm really confused
THE BATTLE AXE: Intercession (12/27/2013)—Believers continue the ministry of Jesus Christ in the earth in many different ways that include sharing the joy of their own salvation, and praying on behalf of others that they might also receive blessing and new life. Intercession may be recognized in attitudes, behavior and godly devotions that are comforting, healing and selfless. Care for the poor and needy are special areas of concern that continually call forth unselfish prayer. The needy include those who have not yet received an endowment of the imparted, indwelling Spirit, those unfamiliar with the beauty of Scripture, those who are undereducated, and many outside the arc of fellowship in Christ by virtue of disbelief. Even so, believers must use balance and discernment, for all are not to come under the shield of sacred prayer. (See Psalm 72: 12-14, Isaiah 61: 10, Isaiah 55: 6-8, Jeremiah 11: 13-15, Matthew 5: 54, and John 17: 8-10, KJV.)
THE GOLDEN ARROW: For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55: 10-12, KJV)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Only One GOD (09/14/2013); Utterance is Spirit (09/08/2013); A Start for the Idea of GOD? (09/09/2013); Spirit Matter (10/21/2012); Caesarea Philippi (10/22/2012); How Was GOD Known Before Jesus? (10/06/2012); Jesus, King of Earth? (10/07/2012)
“Kelvin”, I hope you can receive the following points based on Bible teachings that are being shared here as part of your blessing by the birth of Christ:
(1.) Accepting that GOD is a spirit being whose entire makeup is spirit matter (such as faith, holiness, joy, wisdom, wrath against sin), Christian believers understand that the power comprising divinity generates all existence, including that of carnal and material beings.
(2.) As a spirit, GOD is without dimension and physical form, yet, there are multiple agencies and devices that allow created beings and living creatures to realize that the action and presence of GOD displays intent, purpose and will. In putting forth the Creation of heaven and earth, GOD becomes known as a single entity who reveals or displays himself as multiple persons (we say, the GODhead). In Creation, GOD appears in existence as agent of the full GODhead, breath, life essence conveyed by blood, light, and utterance (we say, speech).
(3.) Until appearing incarnate (we say, in flesh) as Jesus Christ, the actions and life patterns that describe a “son of the Highest” existed barely recognizable, and unseen. Christ has been eternal, and is now made known and visible through ongoing divine operations that include judgment, redemption, salvation and sanctification.
There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood. (For example, (4.) Divine utterance includes commandment and sacred law, expressions of divine love, praise, prayer, proclamation, promise, prophecy, and warning. Jesus Christ is respected by believers as the chosen human vessel and instrument to contain, carryout, and fulfill all the things of divine utterance among and on behalf of all created beings and living creatures.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Grow in grace.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4: 23-24, KJV)
