Repeatedly, the Scriptures present persons and human events as types, figures and displays of spiritual principles and truths, rather than heroes or villains in epic tales. Various figures appear (e.g., angels, judges, priests, prophets, kings, the covenant people, the Christ and Messiah) as expressions of sacred devices and instruments to carryout divine intent. The reports given to a reader are not so much to detail specific actions and incidents as to reconfigure their consciousness using spirit-content. The full reality of Divine Person and divinity reside in the official administrator, the Christ; therefore, the man, Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, is to be seen and understood as an instance of Almighty GOD appearing in flesh (i.e., incarnate). Additionally, in principle, all of the holy prophets are alive and present in the person of the Christ, as though a single individual could be a composite containing the aspects of spiritual goodness from the lives and personality of every godly person that ever existed. Bible readers generally understand that many activities for practical living and the day-to-day lives for the people of GOD were fixed and focused by the counsels, laws, parables and proverbs from GOD. Also, there were traditions continued across many generations. The course of a child’s activity, development and growth was generally described and predictable through the prescriptions and requirements from such elements. Mature Christians typically hold that nagging questions and unsatisfied curiosity about the childhood of Jesus usually comes from our “old man” more than from the “new creature in Christ.” Bible believers are not being equipped to answer directly whether Jesus ever played-stick ball with other boys, played pranks, was sexually initiated, or committed the errors and mischief many of us have known. This is because our correct focus is upon his experience, fulfillment and portrayal of divine law, promise, proclamation and prophecy (see 1st Corinthians 13: 8-13, KJV). Thus, in addition to what we understand as the standard experiences of home-life, learning and worship, a believer’s knowledge of the childhood of Jesus is obtained through the record describing other children and youth in divine service such as Moses, Samuel, David, Josiah, and Timothy. Also, believers themselves undergo the very same spiritual experiences that make up “the childhood” of Jesus through their own baptism, sanctification, and continuing spiritual growth as a reborn child of GOD. Consider again Galatians 4: 3-7 (KJV).

The two ideas you present reinforce one another, and are not truly complete standing alone. Many mature Christian believers agree that, while the holy writings use many common expressions and language describing human events, secular process and social realities, the primary intent of Scripture is to establish a consciousness of spiritual elements that interact and overlap as the human condition, and that cannot be completely known through the flesh (i.e., experiences of such senses as hearing, seeing and touching). Such concepts as duty, freedom, indebtedness, innocence, obedience and reward are used to put forward a more complete awareness of human relationship to the invisible, yet real, creator and maker of mankind.
The interconnected concepts of law, judgment, and salvation generate peculiar descriptions of mankind, of mankind’s Creator, and of the universe wherein humanity exists. Beginning with ones awareness of the demands from human law, it is reasonable for men upon the earth to speak in terms of fines, levies, punishments, and financial sanctions that may be brought against transgressors and violators of contracts that include the overall social consensus (i.e., civil, corporate, family and criminal law). However, to embrace the concepts of covenant and continuing intimate relationship with GOD, the need is for terms whose definitions are given by GOD, and that are broad, yet concrete and exact enough to embrace themes that are cosmic, existential and eternal. Because, radical and often undefined terms that allow men to assume they are all saying the same thing or that they themselves have right knowledge are repeatedly used (such as atonement, forgiveness, love and peace), believers in Christ are to be anchored in more than mere mental exercises and words. The church serves as the source of a new lifestyle and living vocabulary that includes shared experience of giving, praise, prayer, repentance and sacramental worship.
The language created to speak of sin necessarily must be “non-sense”, for sin is no material, physical or spirit thing that exists. Sin was discovered first among the holy angels as the complaint against limitations imposed by divine law. Because sin may not be known or eliminated by created beings and living creatures independently and separate from divinity, sin may dominate their endowments of awareness and self-will. Sin contains no divine substance, and, in this sense, sin is not “created,” and sin does not exist. Sin is not an expression of the divine will, and has no power to overcome the will of GOD. Even so, sin has direction, effect and presence. Divine devices supplied to make possible a living awareness and resistance to sin include law, priesthood, prophecy, repentance, sacrifice, the imparting of Spirit to indwell the living and the transformation of heaven and earth (i.e., “the making of all things new”).
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the human intellectual process for knowing includes both deductive and inductive reasoning. Through induction, a broad group of similar elements display a “rule” that is common for them all. Thereby, many different or repeated instances combine to provide substance as a single truth. In the Bible, thousands of incidents from thousands of lives combine to affirm spiritual concepts and values only crudely spoken of through human language and speech.) Thus, the pressure and urgency for mankind’s repentance is not only from damage and loss by sin; they also derive from ongoing sacred operations and divine processes to transform human nature, and are not merely produced by carnal, material and social conditions upon the earth. (2) When others encounter condemnation, disfavor, obstacles and troubles that you yourself escape this is not an automatic indication of their chastisement by GOD, or of your having divine blessing, favor and reward for your own righteousness. Rightly understood, divine prerogative and grace should come into view. (3) While mankind has no place in its own salvation (the same way it had no place in its own creation), to be in right standing with GOD, there are many actions men first must take, and understandings they must acquire on their own behalf by exercising self-will and volition in cooperation with GOD.

Christian believers are often disappointed when they look to the Bible and other ancient writings for information about the childhood of Jesus. However, they should not be. The Scriptures are intended as a record of divine activity and process; and, provides a divine point of view using incidents from thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years. The holy writings are not biographical and historical in their nature; yet, they are an “official record” of sacred acts, divine motives, eternal promises, and spiritual purposes.
The Scriptures provide a revelation of GOD as Creator, and the place of mankind within the fullness of the universe and the Creation of GOD. As such, the Bible provides details upon such aspects of human experience as (1) establishment of a priesthood in the earth modeled after that in heaven, (2) creation of the “world” (the system put forth by mankind for human survival that includes language, building cities, the rise and fall of kingdoms, and the course of one-world empires), (3) the progressions of divine law and covenant, including instances of judgment against sin, and (4) the fulfillment of divine proclamation, promise and prophecy as response to confession, petition, praise and prayer.
Readers should be pleased that the holy writings emphasize the rich three-and-one-half adult years of ministry performed by Jesus upon the earth along with a vision of his priesthood in the heavens. The full Gospel describes the inheritance of mankind from the Creation of Adam as son of GOD to the conclusion of judgment and the end of all mortality. Rightly understood, the absolute excellence of the Scriptures is that they convey to mankind and instill such substance from the person of Jesus as faith, holiness, humility, forgiveness, joy, longsuffering and wrath against sin.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, generally speaking, believers are safe to apply the rule, “children should be seen and not heard.” In material and social terms they “bring little to the table.” In addition to the limitations of poverty—children have no income from employment or investments; cannot regularly obtain for themselves or others food, clothing shelter and health care; and have little savings—children do not employ critical thinking needed to effectively exercise authority and power. Emotion, fantasy, and imagination often dominate the mental activity of children. As a result their behavior is repeatedly impractical, inconsistent, inefficient, irregular and unfocused. As a stage in human development, childhood should be a time of directed learning, planned growth and preparation, rather than a time of accomplishments, exploits, and resolution for the conflicts, duties and reversals of human relationship. Because children are held to be marginal and unfit as the most correct models for responsible adults and institutions, and may not always command the full cooperation and respect of those to whom they are sent, their service as divine messengers is regularly exploited, overlooked, opposed, slandered and undermined.) (03/05/2013) Unless You Repent
Today’s post addresses the lessons and warnings from Jesus when asked about a recent slaughter of Hebrews by the Romans, and an accident resulting in more than a dozen deaths that was commonly known to have occurred nearby. The “Yahoo! Answers” Top Contributor using ID “Bruce” (Level 7 with 92,590 points, a member since August 12, 2007) posted the following:

THE BATTLE AXE: Our Need for a Son (03/04/2013)—A need for knowledge, relationship and right standing with GOD exits within all created beings and living creatures as an aspect of their makeup and substance that pertains to their completeness, perfection and quality as the handiwork of GOD. By the revelation of himself through flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, the son of GOD from heaven, GOD has further prepared and transformed human awareness so that mankind may eventually display aspects of divine being that include incorruption and immortality. While the existence of GOD does not result from any thing that has been created, the realms of existence (both heaven and earth) and all they contain are useful (yet unnecessary) as artifacts of divine existence that also make known the extent and continuing operation of divine power, presence and sacred purpose. THE GOLDEN ARROW: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Bruce, may I share a few points that should be helpful? The many lessons taught by the account from Saint Luke include warnings against those who believe in GOD for salvation becoming complacent, presumptuous, sedentary, and self-satisfied. For the most correct understanding, a believer should be aware of various issues having influence at that time:
(1) Divisions among the people of Jesus’ day included longstanding ethnic arrogance and racism displayed as enmity between the Jews (i.e., those from the Southern tribes of Judah and Benjamin) and those of the ten tribes to the North that included Galilee. The separation was not merely on political lines that came by the revolt against the house of David through the person of Rehoboam, son of Solomon. Following dissolution of the Unified Kingdom, there were many efforts to replace Jerusalem as the center for observances and worship, including the establishment in the North of worship for the Golden Calf from Egypt.
(2) That men should be slaughtered while worshipping GOD was thought to indict their worship (i.e., could be taken as evidence that their beliefs were false and their practices idolatrous), cast a light of contradiction, and endorsed spiritual confusion regarding divine judgment, salvation, and other sacred operations of GOD. Unlike anger and emotions that come and go or frequently shift, the wrath of GOD against sin must be understood as a continuous and permanent aspect of divinity that makes GOD who he is in relationship with all Creation. Notwithstanding this, the divine provisions for atonement and propitiation of sins also emerge from eternal, unchanging aspects of divinity.
(3) GOD was identified as a direct cause and active agent in all the collective life experience of the covenant people(s). Birth, death, inheritance, sickness and war were all regularly “explained” as actions by GOD independent of all input from mankind. The accountability of mankind was thought to go no further than counsels, desires, petitions and prayers. More than this, human condemnation was seen the result of bad behavior, poor choices and faulty decision making. Jesus demonstrated that human substance (i.e., such elements as faith, holiness and Spirit) is correctly the primary element determining the life conditions and experience of mankind as well as the duration of human existence.
(4) The purpose of death as the tool of GOD was widely understood as only for the destruction of sinners and the punishment of sin. Endorsing those teachings that spoke to the completion of human mortality and divine resurrection for the dead, Jesus manifested the use of death to complete judgment and establish eternal life through mechanisms of rebirth and resurrection. Rather than concern for the recent tragedies, Jesus warned the multitude to have concern for the second death, the lake of fire and the total termination of ones existence.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, emotionalism, excitement and sensationalism are often our focus and response to events in the flesh. Our salvation may be rightly embraced only where we yield to the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD. Repentance for sins is not the product of human cravings, feelings, regrets, thoughts and self-will so much as by operation of the Holy Spirit.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Bruce, may I share a few points that should be helpful? The many lessons taught by the account from Saint Luke include warnings against those who believe in GOD for salvation becoming complacent, presumptuous, sedentary, and self-satisfied. For the most correct understanding, a believer should be aware of various issues having influence at that time:
(1) Divisions among the people of Jesus’ day included longstanding ethnic arrogance and racism displayed as enmity between the Jews (i.e., those from the Southern tribes of Judah and Benjamin) and those of the ten tribes to the North that included Galilee. The separation was not merely on political lines that came by the revolt against the house of David through the person of Rehoboam, son of Solomon. Following dissolution of the Unified Kingdom, there were many efforts to replace Jerusalem as the center for observances and worship, including the establishment in the North of worship for the Golden Calf from Egypt.
(2) That men should be slaughtered while worshipping GOD was thought to indict their worship (i.e., could be taken as evidence that their beliefs were false and their practices idolatrous), cast a light of contradiction, and endorsed spiritual confusion regarding divine judgment, salvation, and other sacred operations of GOD. Unlike anger and emotions that come and go or frequently shift, the wrath of GOD against sin must be understood as a continuous and permanent aspect of divinity that makes GOD who he is in relationship with all Creation. Notwithstanding this, the divine provisions for atonement and propitiation of sins also emerge from eternal, unchanging aspects of divinity.
(3) GOD was identified as a direct cause and active agent in all the collective life experience of the covenant people(s). Birth, death, inheritance, sickness and war were all regularly “explained” as actions by GOD independent of all input from mankind. The accountability of mankind was thought to go no further than counsels, desires, petitions and prayers. More than this, human condemnation was seen the result of bad behavior, poor choices and faulty decision making. Jesus demonstrated that human substance (i.e., such elements as faith, holiness and Spirit) is correctly the primary element determining the life conditions and experience of mankind as well as the duration of human existence.
(4) The purpose of death as the tool of GOD was widely understood as only for the destruction of sinners and the punishment of sin. Endorsing those teachings that spoke to the completion of human mortality and divine resurrection for the dead, Jesus manifested the use of death to complete judgment and establish eternal life through mechanisms of rebirth and resurrection. Rather than concern for the recent tragedies, Jesus warned the multitude to have concern for the second death, the lake of fire and the total termination of ones existence.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, emotionalism, excitement and sensationalism are often our focus and response to events in the flesh. Our salvation may be rightly embraced only where we yield to the imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD. Repentance for sins is not the product of human cravings, feelings, regrets, thoughts and self-will so much as by operation of the Holy Spirit.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Such elements must appear as allegiance, commitment, conviction, dedication, dependability, devotion, faithfulness, loyalty, reliability, and trustworthiness. The importance of a “son” of GOD is as great as the importance for a “son of man.” Through human reproduction, various possibilities are established for finite and temporal mankind to be in continuing and productive existence, and to realize relationship with the eternal Creator. Men are to understand that GOD is a spirit, and ordinarily has no form, shape or visible appearance. More than this, divine existence, intent, operation and sacred purpose are not typically bounded and framed by the aspects for human mind supplied as time and space.
GOD reveals himself to created beings and living creatures through various devices, mechanisms, and sacred processes. Included are birth, covenant, creation, death, incarnation, inheritance, judgment, law, proclamation, promise, prophecy, rebirth, repentance, and sanctification. The word of GOD also is spirit (we sometimes say “breath”); and operates as a distinct appearance of divine person. The divine word is to be understood as making the will of GOD known, and must be recognized primarily by its effect and presence for, through and upon created beings and objects that may be carnal, material, social, or spirit.
The promises of GOD to one man, who at some point must die and complete mortality, (e.g., Adam, Abraham, or David) are lawfully and properly carried over and fulfilled within the life of other men who are shaped in the same personness and values of their “father.” Given that men may understand and perform duty as sons to complete and perpetuate earthly goals and standards given by their fathers, the device of a divine son is used to achieve divine aims and imperatives that include furthering the possibilities for the divine nature to reside within humanity.

(For example, the appearance of GOD incarnate (i.e., in flesh) as Jesus of Nazareth should be easy to accept as an emblem of the supreme authority, glory and majesty of GOD. While the replies I am
sharing, here, in the daily blog are simple responses to questions asked by
strangers, they also are manifestations of divinity, and convey the sacred
content that imparts divine life, wisdom and understanding to created beings and
living creatures. Specifically, today, whether GOD loves Satan or not, and the
seeming inconsistency of GOD killing his enemies while commanding believers to

Here are some ideas that may be very new for you: Most mature Christian believers hold a profound idea of divine love that goes beyond GOD merely “feeling” affection, liking someone, craving sexual pleasure, or seeking to “have ones own way. ” Human marriage and mature love relationships teach us that to experience genuine love is to share a single identity and reality of person that goes beyond the physical and material things in life. As surely as every sexual act is more than a physical contact and entails being joined emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually, divine love operates in terms that are also cosmic, and that pertain to continued existence. When your own relationships reveal to you elements of spirit truth, you will probably agree, that the social standards of mankind barely express the full meaning of godly love.
Correctly understood, the issues of supreme accountability, authority, and responsibility do not allow created beings and living creatures to judge and “rate” GOD as the perfect lover, or not. The demands of integrity to the divine nature, obedience and reverence to law, and the perfection of sacred righteousness make it that GOD may not operate as do those he bestows love upon, that is, in ways that are arbitrary, capricious, random and whimsical. For divinity there absolutely must be consistency, discipline, order and systematic expression.
The tool of death is used to accomplish divine purpose, and this includes more than “punishing” those who are alive. At this time, only GOD is eternal. The holy angels, while not mortal, are yet temporal beings. There are many temporal things that, having been applied or used in divine operation, will pass from existence. This is not always because GOD hates or is angry against them. Like an old pair of sox that have been twice mended, created things complete their usefulness, may no longer be repaired without unacceptable cost, must be changed to continue within the sphere of divine presence, and may even have to be totally replaced. Mankind is to complete mortality; and at the close of judgment, in the kingdom to come, there will only be immortal beings.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, at some point in time, there must be the removal and termination of objects that are incapable of response to the divine will, and the divine word, be they living creatures or dead. Sin opposes the existence of GOD and all that GOD has created. Mankind is incapable of eliminating sin because sin is not a carnal, material or physical substance, and in human terms sin does not exist. We know, however, that the will of created beings and living creatures is corrupted and weakened by sin. Through rebirth, men receive aspects of the divine nature that enable men to resist sin, and that renew the human will to righteousness.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. I am startled by life on the Sabbath day
The Cooper’s keep alive
Himself exposed on rooftop
The breeze browning and spotting the wing
While the finch was pursued only by sunlight
Unafraid, the black and gray curious drew near
Poking about the aerie
As if it were their home
And the unseen roost is totally unoccupied
Even the casual viewer finds movement

Truth be told, I am not
sure I am strong enough to return to writing a daily blog. I’ve recently spent
considerable time investigating retirement overseas. (Those who account heaven
as their home eventually feel that they are misfits in America, in Washington,
DC, and in the earth. It becomes increasingly unclear whether those places are
still part of the kingdom of GOD. Believers are not condemned as Satan to
wander to and fro in the earth. Even so, we know that given the extremes of
dishonesty, envy, hate, indifference, isolation and violence, mature believers
can never have a true place of rest and safety—a home—on any battlefield. Here,
I have been assailed by cold to the point I began to seek shelter in Kingston,
Jamaica, then broadened my search to include Aqaba, Jordan, Belize, Panama, the
U. S. Virgin Islands, Reno, and Las Vegas.) On the one hand, I’ve not been
officially relieved or replaced. On the other hand, I have received no orders
sending me to a new post elsewhere, and I have no commandment to abandon my
post, here. It is impossible to “give in” or to quit knowing it implies the
condemnation and loss of many who are in need and unassisted. Perhaps, the best
way to find out what I may do is for me to return to writing with a positive
attitude and firm determination, trusting GOD, as always, to oversee all
things.
Today, I have chosen to share a poem written for Black History Month 2013 titled COMPASS (below). Preparing to view the recent annual program awarding Oscars, I saw a trailer to the motion picture Lincoln by Director Stephen Spielberg; and I was deeply impressed by lines delivered from actor Daniel Day Lewis that were attributed to the 16th President of the United States of America. Mr. Lincoln’s words seemed incredibly suited as an introduction to my piece:
“A compass, I learned when I was surveying, it’ll... It’ll point you True North from where you’re standing, but it’s got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you’ll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What’s the use of knowing True North?”
THE GOLDEN ARROW: Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. (2nd Corinthians 4: 1-7, King James Version)
