Some points on how death, law, and sin are interwoven are considered, today. Also, there is more using U. S. currency to speak about full acceptance of Old and New Testament writings. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Kelvin” (Level 3 with 1,219 points, a member since August 17, 2013) posted the following:
In Christianity, is sin the cause of death?
It says in Rom. 5:12
"Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned"
So spiritually speaking, death came to us because we sinned. Did I understand this correctly, or is it interpreted differently? Thanks
THE BATTLE AXE: Obliged to Disregard? (02/03/2014)—(5.) Just as signatures for the United States Treasurer and Secretary of the Treasury are affixed to each Federal Reserve Note on one side, yet applies to the other side and to every legitimate note issued, the motto, In GOD We Trust, only appears on one side of a U. S. Federal Reserve Note, yet is to be understood as in effect in all transactions where the note is used. The many associations and historical meanings that are always an aspect of U. S. currency are invisible to those who experience only brief, or casual contact as users who “pass it on.” Thus, many miss the appearance of the Star of David on the U. S. one dollar bill as a memorial in gratitude proposed by George Washington to acknowledge the invaluable financial assistance from Jewish supporters of the Revolution that helped establish the Nation. A principle is in place that our knowledge of such fascinating facts and fine details come only by continuous growth and learning. Applied to our duty as Christian believers accountable for both old and new covenant truth, there absolutely must be careful study of the holy writings. Similar to our error in thinking the New Testament annuls, destroys or replaces the Old Testament, at some point in our growth as Christian believers, many make the mistake of thinking that, because we now have received the Holy Spirit, we no longer need the Bible and other holy writings. Having discernment, believers realize this is no different than an admonition, never believe that we do not need one another: Forsake not the assembling of ourselves together. (See Ephesians 2: 8-22, Hebrews 10: 19-29 and Hebrews 11: 32-40, KJV.)
THE GOLDEN ARROW: For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5: 17-21, KJV)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER: That Mortal Children Die? (12/15/2013); Going It Alone? (12/16/2013); The Power of Death? (10/01/2013); Divine Love Revealed? (10/02/2013); Dying in Terror and Joy? (09/28/2013); Animals Do Not Sin? (09/29/2013); GOD is Acknowledging (09/30/2013)
“Kelvin”, there are many points of truth that must be fitted together for a complete and correct answer to your question; and, for Christian belief the simple language of “cause” and “effect” must often be avoided. Here are few points that usually pierce the enemies of the cross, yet, should prove useful as believers continue their studies:
(1.) For many, sin is an artifact (some say, by-product, or unintended result) that came by establishment of multiple created beings and living creatures having awareness and self-will that operate as distanced, separate and set apart from the Creator. Others hold that sin is an artifact of divine law, the expressed or spoken will of GOD. (They avow, where there is no law, there can be no transgression). Also, it is believed that sin is a residue of the chaos and disorder that was in place before Creation.
(2.) Sin is not a material or spirit substance from GOD, or anything fashioned by the Maker. As such human intellect, logic, reason and science are useless to remove sin. Sin may be detected and recognized using tools provided by GOD, however, sin can not be suddenly eliminated without a total upheaval of all cosmic and divine order. Sin has no dimension or divine substance, yet, sin has direction, effect and presence. Sin opposes the continued existence of all divine law, of the Law Giver, and of all Creation.
(3.) Mankind was fashioned as mortal, and subject to completion through death. Holy angels (called, ministering spirits), sacred beasts and others that appear in the place of full divine presence (we say, heaven) were fashioned as neither mortal nor immortal, and are totally different from mankind as life forms. Sin was first discovered among the holy angels as opposition to divine law, and later appears as defiance, rebellion, and corruption of mankind through deceit and unlawful influence. All living beings endure as vessels bearing divinity, and expressions of divine prerogative.
There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood. (For example, (4.) Through the ministries of Jesus Christ, mankind is being transformed, and will ultimately become immortal and incorruptible, not subject to sin. At this time, believers receive fresh endowments of divine love and spirit content (we say, an imparted, indwelling Spirit, the Holy Ghost) that operates as the will of GOD, and establishes greater resistance to sin. Despite continued challenges and problems all face due to sin, a believer’s eternal life has already begun; and death is only a temporary interruption, or sleep.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(02/03/2014) Obliged to Disregard?
Today, U.S. currency and features of the twenty-dollar bill are used to correct the mistaken notion that Christians are to disregard the Old Testament. Also, there is more on atonement and forgiveness. A writer at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Peter” (a member since April 01, 2013) posted the following originally asked at Yahoo Answers Canada:
Christians: Under the New Covenant you are obliged to disregard the OT. So why follow the 10 Commandments?
........ when they are from the rejected OT.
THE BATTLE AXE: Forgiveness Through GOD? (02/02/2014)—For many who have come to GOD through Jesus Christ, believing began with common sense ideas about what a genuine god would be capable of with a willingness to ask questions and learn more. More than this, we all began with peculiar understandings of what a true god would do to (1) establish and maintain the many expressions of divinity that are displayed through all that exists, (2) make divine person known and respected, and (3) remove every thing that opposes the continued existence of divinity. Through ministries upon the earth as well as from the place of divine presence (we say, heaven), Jesus Christ appears in distinct and godly being (we say, incarnation) that agrees with ones inner sense of order, reality, and truth while further clarifying divine operations, sanctified process, all previous sacred revelations, intimate relationship with GOD, and eternal purpose. Believers all grow in knowledge and understanding by continuing in fellowship with one another, study of the holy writings, and practice of a lifestyle that amplifies and applies sacred truth. See Romans 6: 16-23, Ephesians 2: 1-10 and 1st Peter 4: 9-11, King James Version.
THE GOLDEN ARROW: If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (Hebrews 7: 11-16, KJV)
THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Covenants and Relationships (01/29/2014); Salvation is Conditional? (01/30/2014); Bible Justice? (01/26/2014); GOD Inhabits Praise (01/27/2014); About Sabbath (10/16/2013); We Shall Behold Him (10/17/2013); Gentiles and the Law? (09/19/2013); According to This Word (09/20/2013); Jesus and the Pharisees (07/14/2013); How Could Angels Fall? (07/15/2013); What He Died For (09/14/2012); Chances for Change (09/15/2012)
“Peter”, for many, the cross is foolishness, they do not understand why it was necessary or what it accomplished; yet for those who believe, it is the power of GOD unto salvation. Here are a few points to consider regarding the impact of the cross for the Old and New Testaments:
(1.) The face of a twenty dollar bill in U. S. currency shows the portrait of a former President (Andrew Jackson), while the obverse shows an image of the White House in Washington, DC. Two different seals, two signatures, and serial numbers appear on only one side of the Federal Reserve Note. While most users are able to recognize the value for the bill by looking at the numbers placed at the four corners, for users to receive full value for the bill they must surrender the whole note. Similarly, to detect counterfeits of a true bill, users must examine and study the whole thing.
(2.) Despite their differences the old and new covenants are aspects of a single truth, and to fulfill the plan of GOD, both must be embraced together. Detection of various errors only become possible by correct knowledge of the “true note,” so to speak. Believers must be prepared to encounter arrogance, false prophesies, hate, heresy, ignorance, lies, malice, pride, and unbelief. Often, the attacks upon truth are disguised as friendship, fun (we say, humor or jokes), intellect, logic, reason, and false science.
(3.) For created beings and living creatures to comprehend the cosmic impact of sin their awareness, and the process of their self-will must be transformed in phases and stages that maintain and reinforce the divine order. Sin opposes the continued existence of GOD, of The Ten Commandments and all divinely given law as well as of all Creation. Just as paper currency represents the authority and lawful order established by a nation for commerce, exchange and social interaction, so the revealed laws of GOD make divinity known and visible while fostering communication and exchange among those who are part of the Kingdom of GOD.
There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood. (For example, (4.) The official value of currency is not altered by the private application and use of it; yet, we speak of “filthy lucre.” We acknowledge that, while charitable giving may occur, misuse encouraging prostitution and purchase of illegal drugs also may appear. Similarly, abusers of divine law, of the word of GOD and the many provisions for the faithful will arise. Knowing this, believers put on the whole armor of GOD to disregard, reject, repel, and resist the things that derive from the enemy. The things from GOD continue to be of value as holy, pure, righteous, and wise.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
