Christians, what is this “paradise” Jesus speaks of in Luke 23:43? Is it the same place as “Abraham’s bosom” mentioned in Luke 16:19-31?
Update: The KJV, NKJV, NASB, NIV, ESV, and RSV all place the comma before the word ‘today.’ Also, the Jewish people would know exactly what Jesus was referring to in Luke 16:19-31. Any insights on this place called “Abraham’s bosom”? Is this an expression that represents the “paradise” Jesus said the thief on the cross would go to? Anybody got information on the Hebrew word for “paradise” in the context of Luke 16:19-31?
Jesus never said the thief or the poor man were going to heaven, right?

“Lesley”, trust that, despite time and space, through operations of the Holy Spirit, blood and truth from the cross are flowing to here and now. The Savior’s promise to a thief while dying upon the cross further reveals the process of salvation for mankind as one of divine utterance (we say, breath, spirit, word) made visible as proclamation, promise, and prophecy. Many mature Christian believers hold that “heaven” and “paradise” are to be understood in the same way as “the kingdom of GOD.” Paradise, then, is not a location within the frameworks of time and space; rather, it as a spiritual condition, a peculiar immersion within spirit substance from the makeup of Deity, and a way of further describing operations of divinity that are ongoing and eternal. Included are covenant, the imparting and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, sacred law (the expressed will of GOD), judgment, justification, divine ownership, the distribution of rewards following the close of judgment against sin, and transformation of human existence to continue mankind as immortal and incorruptible. Believers often become confused, because speaking of paradise also involves considering the place of the dead, and the continuing state of those departed. Any description of paradise as a place for carnal pleasures is not in keeping with the work of the cross, and the ongoing ministry of the gospel. Consider again how these points appear in language from the Bible:
(1.) Matthew 13: 47-51, King James Version (KJV): 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
(2.) Ecclesiastes 12: 7, KJV: 12 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
(3.) John 4: 23-24, KJV: 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
(4.) Romans 8: 5-9, KJV: 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(5.) Revelation 6: 8-11, KJV: 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
(6.) Daniel 7: 14, KJV: 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (7.)
