Today, King David, the death of Uriah the Hittite, and the operations of sin are considered.  Sin promotes nonexistence and return to the conditions that were in place before the Creation of heaven and earth.  The mechanics and process of sin always result in the increase and intensification of what is at first a reversible error.  The movement is from deceit, defiance and ignorance of the law to repeated transgressions to deliberate iniquity and persistence of attitudes and actions that violate both the letter and the spirit of the law.  Efforts to cover, rather than confess and abandon sin, usually go from one extreme to another, beginning with lies and even finishing with murder.  Thus, Jesus declared:  I am the door:  by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  I am the good shepherd:  the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep (John 10:  9-11, King James Version, KJV).  The fighter at “Yahoo! “STORMY K”, many mature Christian believers hold that, when King David could not cover the pregnancy of Bathsheba (Uriah’s wife), and his own sin of adultery against their marriage, the King ordered the death of Uriah by requiring the commander Joab to have the troops abandon Uriah on the battlefield.  In the same way the holy writings use thousands of events, from thousands of lives over the course of thousands of years to make the character, makeup and substance of the Creator knowable, known, and “visible”, the scriptures also reveal the consequences and operations of sin.  Sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and the divine order that has put forth the universe.  Sin is no material object or divinely created “thing” that may be destroyed, eliminated, or erased without an extended series of interventions from GOD.  Sin may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures; and believers can not consistently and correctly recognize, respond to, and resist sin without fresh endowments of spirit content from the makeup of GOD.  Such finite human tools as emotions, intellect, logic, philosophy, science, and technology are not enough to eliminate and remove sin.  Thus, doctors, educators, lawyers, politicians, scientists, and rulers also are among the many people corrupted by sin.  Consider the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Isaiah 30:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:  2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!  3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

(2.)  Ezekiel 18:  4-9, KJV:  4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine:  the soul that sinneth, it shall die.  5 But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,  6 And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,  7 And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;  8 He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,  9 Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.

(3.)  Romans 5:  17-21, KJV:  17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)  18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.  20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:  21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Romans 8:  3-9, KJV:  3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Scripture points are shared, today, on the mercies of GOD shown to the House of David.  In addition to divine wrath against sin that was provoked through adultery, negligent parenting that resulted in rape of the king’s daughter, fratricide, unjust banishment of a son who had been severely injured, and near overthrow of the kingdom, the reigns of David and Solomon also saw crimes of presumption and pride (taking a census), and the building of houses for idol worship to appease 1,000 concubines and wives.  The fighter at “Yahoo! Answers” using the ID “Underwater” (Level 2 with 864 points, a member since September 20, 2007) posted the following:


Why was David s son punished for David s sin with Bathsheba?

Bathsheba becomes the Queen Mother (mother of Solomon) after Uriah is killed in battle?
This might be too many words for Yahoo Answers ;-) but how do these stories make any sense?

“Underwater”, for Christian believers to have the most complete and correct understanding of the accounts recorded in the holy writings they all must recognize that those acknowledging their salvation are being shown sacred knowledge, not simply human history, or a collection of secular events.  A divine point of view is being shared that allows believers to see the operations of divinity through thousands of lives and thousands of situations over the course of thousands of years.  Included are atonement, confession, correction, judgment, incarnation, rebirth, repentance, sanctification, and the second death.  The Bible records the revelation of Deity to created beings and living creatures both in the heaven and upon the earth.  The Scriptures are part of a multi-leveled sacred process to impart spirit content to the living from the makeup of the Creator.  Included, here, are grace, divine love, faith, forgiveness, holiness, longsuffering, purity, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Relationships such as family, tribes, and anointed workers (priests) are permanently altered and used to accomplish eternal purposes.  Examples are seen in friendship with Abraham (Patriarch), covenant with Moses (prophet) and the tribes of Jacob (nation) as well as dynasty and inheritance through kings.  The sons are not punished for their father’s sins, however, ones offspring are to be challenged by the conditions created and established by their parents for as many as four generations (160 years).  Here are a few points from Scripture that may further clarify GOD’s use of David and Solomon:

(1.)  Exodus 34:  6-8, King James Version (KJV):  6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,  7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.  8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.

(2.)  Ezekiel 18:  19-21, KJV:  19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.  20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:  the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.  21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

(3.)  Ezekiel 33:  10-12, KJV:  10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?  11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?  12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression:  as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

(4.)  2nd Samuel 24:  1-4, KJV:  1 And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.  2 For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.  3 And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it:  but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?  4 Notwithstanding the king’s word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.

(5.)  2nd Samuel 24:  16-18, KJV:  16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.  17 And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly:  but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house.  18 And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.

(6.)  1st Kings 11:  9-13, KJV:  9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,  10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods:  but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.  11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.  12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake:  but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.  13 Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.

There is much more that could be said, and that must be correctly understood and spiritually taken into account.  (For example, (7.)  1st Kings 12:  18-20, KJV:  18 Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.  19 So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.  20 And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel:  there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.)  Even so, I trust this collection of verses will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

The duty and privilege of prayer on behalf of others is the topic, today.  Also, there is more on Gentiles being brought into covenant with GOD through David and Jesus.  A “Yahoo! THE  BATTLE AXE:  A Curse Removed (12/26/2013)—(5.)  In the virgin birth of Jesus, many streams of prophecy, redemption, conversion, and atonement come into view.  Thus, the genealogy of the Lord includes the appearance of Thamar (the daughter-in-law to Judas son of Jacob that gave birth to twins when the father transgressed the levirate law that required she be allowed to bear children through her deceased husband’s brother).  Ruth appears (a descendant of Lot, a Moabite, and the daughter-in-law of Naomi, a Jewess of Ephraim) signifying reconciliation of Abraham with Lot as well as divine provision for Gentile and Jew in the full kingdom of GOD through Jesus Christ.  Also, the adulteress Bathsheba appears (first wife to Uriah the Hittite, after treachery wife to David, and mother to Solomon)  in the genealogy of Jesus.  All these became justified by faith and works.  (See Ezekiel 18:  20-23, Matthew 1:  1-17, Luke 3:  21-38, Hebrews 11:  31, James 2:  25, KJV.)

“Aaa”, based upon teachings that appear throughout the Bible, here are a few points on prayer life and service among Christian believers:

(1.)  Salvation is an experience of receiving a permanent endowment of divine substance from the living person of GOD.  GOD is a spirit who is able to emanate and fashion material being, living creatures, and a context (we say, environment) for their existence.  At Creation, mankind received the “breath of life”, a portion from GOD that continues the existence of divinity within created beings and living creatures (we say, indwells a believer).

(2.)  The operations of sin have diminished and eroded sacred consciousness and self-will within angels, mankind and others.  The incarnate ministry of GOD appearing in the form and person of Jesus Christ has been provided so humanity (and thereby all) may achieve intended (and new) levels of awareness, purpose, and self-control through a transformation of their existing spirit content.  Recovery of Creation from the effects of sin requires agreement and harmonious interaction of both flesh and spirit.

(3.)  One is “born again” in baptism, a sacred operation wherein a person is established as dead to sin, yet, alive in relationship with GOD.  The same Spirit that generated the earth, the heaven, and the full universe, allows a believer to operate as though born anew from divine DNA.  In addition to guiding a believer to repent, turn away from sin, and turn to GOD, the Holy Spirit, enlightens a believer with understanding of divine processes, and eternal purposes.  Also, the Spirit provides enthusiasm and energy for godly action (we say, zeal).

There is far more to be said, properly shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  Believers are not simply “saved” for their own enjoyment and personal benefit.  All are to work as sons and daughters of GOD to complete multiple tasks necessary for such divine works as proclamation, redemption, salvation, judgment, and sanctification.  All must prophesy (i.e., comfort, edify and exhort); and thereby, believers serve as intercessors, mediators, and spokespersons both for earth and for heaven.  This is spoken of in many ways:  believers must evangelize; they must spread the Gospel; they must share love through their sacred practices and daily living routines.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Grow in grace.
