(11/14/2017) From Glory to Glory

glory of the throne

Today, an eternal revelation by immutable, unchanging divinity is considered that will present diverse manifestations of divine fullness, rather than display changes within the makeup of GOD.  When Christian believers are asked to share sacred knowledge regarding “the world to come,” their responses must go beyond “spiritual basics” and the Gospel.  Thus, we may provide declarations of faith, prophesy, personal testimonies, or even, reports of visions.  Without there being any changes among or within the persons of GODhead, in the world to come, created beings and living creatures should experience movement and shifts in orientation within their consciousness and sense of grasp as their natural response to many of the things that will be displayed and put forth by divinity (for example, the New Jerusalem descending from heaven, the Tree of Life, and that there no longer will be oceans).  It is written, John 3:  11-13, King James Version (KJV):  11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.  12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?  13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.  With these words from the Lord in view, it is not an error for developing believers to seek sacred knowledge regarding “the world to come.”  Even so, all are cautioned not to indulge conjecture, “vain imaginings” (i.e., fantasy; flights of imagination; make-believe; thoughts lacking spirit content from the makeup of GOD), and speculation.  Saints of the kingdom are to practice discernment and be edified continually through discovery, gradual growth, and apprehension by the Holy Spirit (we also say, the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of Truth).  A writer at “Yahoo! Is Jesus the same today as He will be tomorrow? why or why not?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  And before him shall be gathered all nations:  and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  (Matthew 25:  31-34, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  The Creator is Different (10/31/2017); GOD Is Imparting Truth (10/30/2017); The Device of Incarnation (10/18/2017); Making Sense of Preexistence? (10/06/2017); Our Glory From GOD (09/24/2017); Eternal Mysteries and Revelation (08/31/2016); Names For Sacred Persons? (08/01/2017); Atonement and The Cross? (02/29/2016); Ark of the Covenant? “Donald”:

(1.)  Hebrews 6:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.  3 And this will we do, if God permit.

In the same way the glory displayed and revealed at his baptism was different from that seen in his transfiguration, when Jesus appears to reap the harvest of the earth (i.e., to remove those “born again” who have “grown up again” and are mature/ripe), he will display the three-fold glory (that of the Father, that of the holy angels, and his own unique glory).  Further, just as his crown(s) and throne(s) are many (e.g., glory, grace, judgment, life, mercy, rest), and there are differences in duties and sovereign authority that do not alter his divinity, covenant relationships, and participation within the GODhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), the joint-heirs with Christ should expect a continuing and eternal revelation of glory marked by diversity, rather than change in “the root” or aspects that are fundamental.

Eternal life will not be stagnant and static, for the watchwords of salvation through Jesus Christ include discovery, faith, gradual growth, “oneness without sameness,” trust and vigilance.  Christian believers may understand that, while Christ ascended before his witnesses displaying flesh and form, he is now making atonement in the heavens as our High Priest within the Sanctuary, the Holiest of Holies, and may manifest using both diffuse spirit as well as human form.  (That material things such as altars, horses, and a city, the New Jerusalem, may appear in heaven is not explained to us.)  Even so, mankind is to exist as a companion to immortal, incorruptible divinity upon the earth, and is now in an ongoing process of transformation that will be completed as the Savior’s believers meet him in the air at his return (we also say, the Advent, the Rapture, the Second Coming).  While few (?)  details regarding our becoming perfected, and the specifics of eternal life are recorded in the holy writings, many patterns and principles appear that permit clear understanding of various possibilities, of the things consistent with our present sacred knowledge, and of “what is likely” given the revealed eternal purposes.

Thus:

(2.)  Hebrews  13:  8, KJV:  8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

(3.)  2nd Corinthians 3:  17-18, KJV:  17 Now the Lord is that Spirit:  and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

(4.)  Luke 9:  23-26, KJV:  23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it:  but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.  25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?  26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

(5.)  2nd Corinthians 4:  3-5, KJV:  3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (6.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
