(10/12/2015) The Remnant?

Today, Scripture points are shared on rejection by modern Jews of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and their own holy writings.  Properly understood, while there has always been disagreement and division among the descendants of Abraham and Jacob regarding their sacred inheritance, and their place with GOD as a covenant people, there also has always been a remnant.  Consider again the following from the Bible, and the points appearing below:  Romans 3:  1-3, King James Version (KJV):  1 What advantage then hath the Jew?  or what profit is there of circumcision?  2 Much every way:  chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.  3 For what if some did not believe?  shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?  Also, Romans 11:  2-8, KJV:  2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.  Wot ye not what the scriptures saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,   3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.  4 But what saith the answer of God unto him?  I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.  5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.  6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works:  otherwise grace is no more grace.  But if it be of works, then is it no more grace:  otherwise work is no more work.  7 What then?  Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.  8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.  A fighter at “Yahoo! Why do Christians still believe in the Bible when even the Jews don't anymore?

The people who originally made it up have accepted that it's all garbage. Shouldn't that be something of a hint?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:  For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness:  because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.  And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth  had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.  What shall we say then?  That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.  But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.  Wherefore?  Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law.  For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;  As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence:  and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.   (Romans 9:  27-33, KJV)

“Wahiya”, in the course of gaining a full understanding of sacred knowledge, eternal purpose, and divine process, many Christian believers have been challenged by the question you ask, and have themselves expressed a similar concern.  Because the “sacred response” is more likely to be found recorded among the holy writings, the believer continues to direct their focus to the doctrines and indicators (you might say, clues or suggestions) of the Scriptures as well as the clear teachings from Genesis to Revelation.  Here are a few of the points in the Bible that have helped many avoid error, presumption, and spiritual confusion:

(1.)  Deuteronomy 9:  6-8, King James Version (KJV):  6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it not for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.  7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD they God to wrath in the wilderness:  from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.  8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.

(2.)  John 5:  39-44, KJV:  39 Search the scriptures;  for in them ye think ye have eternal life:  and they are they that testify of me.  40 And ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.  41 I receive not honour from men.  42 But I know you, that you have not the love of God in you.  43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not:  if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.  44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

(3.)  Hebrews 4:  2, KJV:  2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them:  but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Romans 10:  1-4, KJV:  1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer for Israel is that they might be saved.  2  For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.  4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. )  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
