(05/05/2014) Expulsion from Eden

Adam, angels, and sin are topics, today.  Also, there is more on deliverance, discernment, and the figures of Abraham and Lot.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “>” (Level 6 with 22,634 points, a member since May 20, 2012) posted the following:

Why was expulsion from paradise the punishment for original sin?

Some Christians believe that Genesis happened verbatim and is not just allegory.

Many modern day Christians believe that there are six steps to repentance:

1. Feel Godly Sorrow
2. Confess to God
3. Ask for Forgiveness
4. Rectify Problems Caused by Sin(s)
5. Forsake Sin
6. Receive Forgiveness

If Adam and Eve were indeed cast out of Eden for original sin, why didn’t God give them an opportunity for repentance FIRST using the 6 steps we have been given? This seems like HUGE oversight for an all-loving and all-forgiving God! It is blaring inconsistencies like this that strengthen the atheistic argument.

Thank you for you kind and informative answers.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Lot and the Angels (05/04/2014)—(5.)  Many believers acknowledge the various accounts of Lot that appear in Scripture are provided for instruction that is drawn by contrast.  Two objects or persons placed in the same or similar settings may be given the same opportunity for relationship with GOD, yet, respond very differently, and receive different outcomes.  Abraham and his sons are juxtaposed against Lot and his daughters.  Just as Abraham was in covenant through circumcision, Lot also was a covenant partner with GOD; however, his wife and daughters were not.  It remains that, the focus of these accounts are the revelation of GOD as righteous through judgment.  Many embrace spiritual confusion and error by centering upon issues of incest, lust, same-sex desire, and mob violence.  Rightly understood, that Lot’s daughters would complete their mortality at the hand of a rape-gang is no more wicked than their having to fight and die in combat on a battlefield to protect their own home, and community.  Until there is balance among the inseparable aspects of GOD that reside within a person as their own endowment of divine Spirit (e.g., faith, holiness, humility, longsuffering, love, wisdom, wrath against sin), a person may show generosity, gentleness and kindness, yet, be unable to discern spirit substance in events, objects or persons, be unable to endure challenges to their own spirit, be unskilled at smoothly adjusting to sudden spiritual changes, and unexpected shifts, and not be prepared for the coming of Christ in glory.  See Genesis 17:  1-27, Genesis 19:  23-26 and Luke 17:  28-33, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:  and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.  (Genesis 3:  22-24, KJV)

“>”, here are a few points to consider that are important to Christian belief:

(1.)  Many mistakenly think that the male and female pair were not given clear instruction regarding the law of GOD.  Because all sin may be spoken of as the transgression of divine law, there are those who feel that Adam’s expulsion from the Eden home on the basis of having violated divine law (that they were ignorant of) was unjustified.  Even where the two did not understand the clear statement of prohibition (DO NOT), or the admonition and warnings (when you do this, the result will be), it remains the two did receive a word from GOD that should not have been forgotten or ignored.  The pair failed to realize they were in a direct relationship with divinity based upon mutual acceptance, respect and trust.

(2.)  Rightly understood, all sin opposes the continued existence of divine law, of the divine Law Giver, and of the Creation that is established and maintained through sacred law.  Sin was first found among the holy angels, who did not comprehend its nature and potential.  Thus, many of the things demonstrated through mankind upon the earth, are to make clear to those in heaven the ruin that comes by sin.  Sin has no material or spirit content, yet, has direction, effect, and presence; and may dominate awareness and self-will in created beings and living creatures.

(3.)  Just as the pattern for a tabernacle that was given to Moses was a copy of things in heaven, the divine operations for the removal of sin in heaven are copied upon the earth.  Included are atonement, correction, forbearance, forgiveness, judgment, and sanctification.  Sin can not be eliminated as if a product of intellect, logic, reason or science.  Sin is also a failure to perform in accordance with faith and the many other inseparable aspects deposited within the living from divine makeup such as holiness, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

There is a lot more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The angels are neither mortal nor immortal; may be destroyed through the use of holy fire; and continue their existence through faith, and divine grace.  To restrain the spread of sin within the earth realm, it became necessary to establish mankind in mortality (i.e., temporary and finite existence) through the use of death.  Expulsion from the Garden, and its removal from the earth, were necessary to deny access to eternal life for mankind that would come through operations of the flesh (i.e., eating from the Tree of Life) or by further disobedience, instead of reconciliation and righteousness.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith, and your willingness to learn as a genuine believer.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  (2nd Chronicles 7:  14, KJV)
