Points are shared, today, on blasphemy against the GODhead, spiritual discernment, and the rules of sola scriptura and justification by faith. No one having the Holy Spirit will blaspheme the Father or the Son; and there also appears to be an unwritten rule that a person must contain an endowment of the Holy Spirit to correctly acknowledge and recognize the Holy Spirit as he operates through, and resides within born-again believers, and the holy writings. None may acknowledge Jesus as Lord without the Spirit; and blasphemy against the Spirit may occur only from those who do not have the Spirit of Christ.
THE BATTLE AXE: Blasphemy Against the GODhead (05/06/2014)—(5.) The fullness of Spirit is word with action; thus we may say, the Scriptures are an incarnation of the Spirit. For many, the rule of sola scriptura is cancelled and overruled by the principle of justification by faith whereby otherwise impossible operations of the imparted, indwelling Spirit of GOD, the Holy Ghost, are allowed. In their understanding, manifestations of the Spirit (e.g., healings, tongues, visions), prophecy, and supernatural phenomena directed by GOD may occur at any time, and in any place; and are not to be despised or dismissed. However, rightly understood, the holy writings describe patterns, precepts, and principles for divine action along with the necessary frameworks for recognition of eternal purpose; and the Scriptures do not detail, foretell, or predict the specific actions of believers and their adversaries. The Scriptures are a “body” and form that makes the active presence of the Spirit detectable and known within events, objects, and persons.
(6.) The ministry carried out by Jesus of Nazareth conformed to the standards contained in the holy writings both as law, and as prophecy. Jesus operated acknowledging the customs and traditions among the Jews, however, he also exercised authority and power that was clearly supernatural. Throughout the Scriptures, miracles and supernatural events usually appear as indicators that a message or proclamation is authentic, has a divine origin, is genuinely from GOD, and is therefore certain of fulfillment. Jesus did not demonstrate, explain, or teach the method and process for the signs and wonders that were displayed; and the proper emphasis was to be upon the doctrine from GOD, not any “strange” or surrounding events. Thus, the acceptable and correct responses by the multitude were to be meekness (willingness to learn from GOD), praise, thanksgiving, and worship.
(7.) In line with what it means to discern and recognize spirit matter in events, objects and persons, here is a difficult thought to consider, that nonetheless may be helpful: Jesus cautioned those who disrespectfully accused him to develop and apply spiritual discernment. Usually, we speak of forgiveness among mankind, as a device to continue and restore trust. We have no conversation of forgiveness among the persons of the GODhead, as though they would ever be in conflict, or offend one another. Regarding divine judgment, forgiveness pertains to offenses by created beings and living creatures against one another, against the spheres for their existence (we say, their environment), and transgressions of divine law. Atonement must be made using blood for all offenses against the law. The Son may forgive personal insults against himself, and against the Father as aspects of reconciliation and continuous process within relationships acknowledging divine love. Included are such features as acceptance, benevolence, correction, forbearance, longsuffering, mercy, and wisdom. The Father also may forgive denials, invective and verbal abuse against himself, and against the Son on the same basis. The Holy Spirit does not engage created beings and living creatures through independent, interpersonal relationships as do the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit serves as the primary agent and representative of Jesus Christ as well as envoy of the Father. Thus, opposition to the Spirit that may be accounted as directed against the Father or the Son, and may be accounted as merely “misplaced”, does not have the same standing in judgment as does a “personal” and complete break with the Spirit. For it is the Spirit that establishes connection and union within the GODhead, and that must be apprehended for awareness of ones own existence and the active presence of divinity. Consider again John 16: 12-16 & 25-27, Matthew 24: 24, Romans 8: 1-8 & 26-27 and 2nd Peter 1: 16-21, KJV.
THE GOLDEN ARROW: Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered. Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. (Malachi 3: 13-18, KJV)
There is a lot more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended. For example (8.) Love of divinity is a form of self-affirmation, esteem, and respect for oneself. Made in the image of GOD, mankind’s capacity to project and respond to the self as an object is the foundation for all human communication, exchange, introspection, and social interaction. Saying this another way: It is the active presence of GOD in awareness that makes possible the use of comparison and contrast among created beings and living creatures whereby we realize that we are like, yet, separate from the sphere of our existence, and from one another.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith, and the substance of divinity within you.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. (1st Corinthians 12: 3, KJV)
