(10/20/2013) A Visit from an Angel?

Recognizing spiritual visitations are in view, today, along with more on the correct conceptions of mankind that come by the Gospel.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “GisherJohn” (Level with points, a member since 2008) posted the following:

Did I maybe just witness an Angel?

I was in a dead sleep. And while my eyes were closed I notice the room wasn't as dark. I opened my eyes and I saw what I would call a ball of light on the ceiling. Looks something like a glowing star in a sky, just a very bright light. After 2 seconds of looking at it, I noticed it like shrunk (like going through a straw) then it disappeared. AT that time, it made this very loud popping noise or sound when it was disappearing. I've never had anything like that happen before. I was awake, so I know I wasn't dreaming. Possible Angel? Ghost maybe?

I love how the atheists come in here and try to make trouble thinking people that experience these things are just smoking weed or doing drugs. Just do me a favor, don't respond. I want valid responses of people with half a brain at least, later.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Another Gospel? (10/19/2013)—In the light of Christ, “FULLY human” means “immortal; incorruptible; no longer subject to death and sin; in right relationship with GOD.”  As the expression of our animal nature, mankind continually seeks excitement, novelty and sensation.  Yet, Christian believers are given a new life from GOD that requires they all minister the same sacred truth to others.  Believers are to impart spirit content in the home and the community as well as in the church by actions, not simply by words.  The work of spreading the Gospel is not only a matter of preaching, what we speak, and verbal behavior.  The Gospel also is to be ones way of life that makes Christ visible in all our living routines.  Others are to witness our growth and transformation from born again to perfection (we say, maturity), and the impact of an unchanging word is to be revealed (see Proverbs 3: 5-7, 14: 12 and 21: 2, also 2nd Corinthians 4:  1-11 and Ephesians 4:  11-16, KJV).  Because we pursue sharing the Gospel by adapting the message to different regions, multiple languages, and varying human conditions, maintaining the purity and simplicity of the Gospel can be lost sight of.  This is specially true where we seek to operate apart from either the written word, or the living Spirit of GOD.  As a result, the holy writings include cautions and warnings that believers stay alert and vigilant against drifting away from their own foundations recorded for them in the Scriptures (see 2nd Corinthians 11:  1-4, Mark:  14:  38, Ephesians 6:  10-20 and Colossians 2:  6-10, KJV)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:   For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?  And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.  And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:  a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.  Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:  They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;  And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed:  but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.  But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?  (Hebrews 1:  5-14, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  How Could Angels Fall? (07/15/2013); Circumcision and Promise? (07/16/2013); Why A “Spokesperson”? (01/14/2013); No Contradictions? (01/15/2013); To See With New Eyes (11/06/2012); A Life Companion? (11/07/2012); The Gender of Angels? (10/09/2012); Sin Unknown? (10/10/2012); When Prayer Works (10/11/2012)

“GisherJohn”, here are a few points important to Christian believers that further shield us against spiritual confusion:

(1.)  The Holy Spirit is received through baptism, whereby believers are transformed (we say, born again, rebirth) having sacred substance (divine DNA, so to speak).  Inseparable aspects of eternal person are acquired that include faith, forbearance, forgiveness, gratitude, holiness, joy, longsuffering, love, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.  Born again, believers must “grow up” again by meeting the challenges of those in flesh upon the earth.  Believers become balanced, complete, and stable (we say, mature or perfected) only through divine operations that employ change, giving, growth, obedience, prayer, unselfish service, study, suffering, and worship.

(2.)  The imparted, indwelling Spirit from GOD now available through the ministry of Jesus Christ equips every believer to continually apply discernment (i.e., ability to use spiritual things to recognize other spiritual things).  It is in this sense that believers have an unction from GOD, and do not require outside advisers, guides, and teachers.

(3.)  Angels are spirit beings and living creatures, however, they are neither mortal nor immortal.  Generally, they do not seek contact with mankind unless dispatched as guides or messengers from GOD.  (In such cases, angels may assume human form and appear as men to avoid fostering doubt, spiritual confusion, and unbelief.)  Patterns for witness (i.e., how we are to behave and speak regarding our own experience) to angelic visitations are documented in Scripture.  Sacred events that men may hear or see have included proclamation, sightings of forms and similitudes as well as prophetic utterance (the messenger speaks directly to mortal beings). More important than the messenger is the spirit content and divine purpose revealed through the message; and where there is no message, there is no cause for alarm or concern.

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  Men may hope for more than becoming angels.  Corruption (we say, sin) was first discovered among the holy angels, and has spread among mankind upon the earth.  As when cats die they automatically do not become dogs, when people die, they automatically do not become angels.  The salvation granted mankind through Jesus Christ is that sin will be totally removed from existence, and mankind will be made immortal and incorruptible.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

Grow in grace
