Family, Noah, and the doctrines of a second Adam are in view, today, along with more on how to love GOD. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Mens” (Level 1 with 91 points, a member since March 18, 2013) posted the following:
A question about Noah’s Ark?
If every human besides Noah and his family were killed does that mean that 1. We are all decendents of Noah and 2. that members of Noah’s family had children together?
THE BATTLE AXE: How To Love GOD? (03/24/2013)—To love GOD is a continuous act of being that consists in (1) voluntary displays and submission to GOD of ones full sacred content, and all they may value as germane to their person; and (2) responding to the will of GOD appearing by such elements as admonition, calling, duty, election, invitation, law, longsuffering, proclamation, promise, prophecy, truth, wisdom and wrath against sin. Displaying ones hidden aspect may be known as “confession,” and involves acknowledgment, confidence, respect, and trust. Thus, many understand confession and prayer as the beginning point for love of GOD. As with any relationship wherein we invest our private person, there must be a “getting to know” GOD, before whole hearted commitment and full understanding of all that has been revealed, and what one may correctly expect or seek. Many childish, false and selfish ideas must be realized, and completely put away. There must be a coming into maturity, such that we say, You must be born again, and grow up again. Believers undergo a transformation to full spiritual awareness when they cooperate with the holy writings, and the promptings by the imparted, indwelling spirit from GOD. What one values and what one contains are equally vital to having place within the eternal sphere of sacred presence.
THE GOLDEN ARROW: Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. (Hebrews 11: 3-7, King James Version)

Mens, here are a few thoughts from the faith of a mature Christian believer that may be helpful:
1.) The figure of Noah powerfully introduces the idea of a second Adam, and the re-establishment of the earth following the operations of divine judgment through continuation of covenant and priesthood.
2.) Family as we know it, a social reality, did not exist for Adam, the single being created by Almighty GOD. As a result, such sins as adultery, incest, and same sex relations were initially unknown. Adam is the name given by GOD to both the male and female. Eve was the name given the female by the male; and this identified her as the mother (i.e., caretaker) of all living.
3.) The priesthood bestowed upon Adam was to exist as an inheritance for mankind from GOD, and was patterned after the priesthood of Jesus Christ in the heavens. The framework of family, then, began to follow along two separate paths, the sacred and the profane.
There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, the initial command to mankind, repeated to Noah and his family, was they should be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. This was not intended simply to multiply mortals upon the earth. Consciousness of divine law, sacred presence, and eternal purpose were to be preserved and made permanent among all living. Noah is to be seen as a type or figure foreshadowing Jesus, the Second Adam and Christ.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.
