(01/02/2018) Can GOD Feel Pain?

Today, as we complete the transition from the year 2017 ending to the beginnings of 2018 as a year of opportunity and possibility, reply is made to one of the fighters in the “Yahoo! Answers” forum on the ability of divinity to feel pain.  Many correctly acknowledge that GOD is able to display and put forth authority and power over birth, death, existence, life, heaven and hell, the natural world, and the world of spirits, yet, they mistakenly continue to express certainty that GOD is so mighty he must be indifferent, unfeeling, and has little interest in the activity of mankind upon the earth.  Such believers also may hold that divinity is distant, remote, silent and uncaring concerning human needs, or the personal crises, growing pains, sufferings, and woes within families of flesh.  They are to be told, as surely as the divine Father has loved the sacred Son from the foundation of heaven and earth, there is no sadness or sorrow that GOD can not feel; and the Creator is no stranger to compassion, empathy, and what it feels like to be betrayed and despised.  These overlook the interdependence for survival that must exist, and the principles of divine order that maintain the universe.  Like the body (the church) that is made up of different members, and where injury to one part is an injury to the whole, the Creation and the universe are established as having oneness without sameness.   When a single aspect of the fullness for life is damaged or unbalanced there is a disturbing ripple that travels throughout.  This is the case with sin, that opposes the continued existence of divine law, the Law Giver, and all divine order. Divine administration to cleanse, heal, and preserve the broad range of things manifest by the sovereign will of GOD, must embrace and reach even to the darkest, smallest, unseen detail.  It is not so much a matter that God does not care as that divinity may only use ongoing, lawful and predetermined sacred process to fulfill the present needs.  “Anonymous” (no profile information shared) posted the following:

Can God even feel pain? He cant relate to me, im human and he is oso "superior" to the rest of puny human peasants?

That is why we must keep reminding us that we are forever beanth him like Roach under a shoes ready to be stepped on if he ever so chooses. In order to live correct we mist constantly worship him & everything that he does or be treated like garbage and tortured for eternity.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.  (Genesis 6:  5-8, King James Version, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Having Personhood Without Gender? (12/13/2017); Thoughts On Divine Personhood (12/07/2017); The Practice of Love (07/27/2017); Endurance, Humility and Obedience? (06/04/2017); That GOD Is Faithful? (08/31/2015); On Death and Pain (05/08/2014); A “Good” Verse? (05/09/2014)

“Anonymous”, GOD feels joy, love, righteous anger, and the sensations of a human body through the person of Jesus Christ.  Many developing Christian believers are discovering that the fullness of divinity (we say, the GODhead; the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) is a single active presence (some say, breath, life essence, spirit, Word) who uses the device of personhood when communicating, exchanging, and interacting with created beings and living creatures through ongoing relationships that may be intimate and private.  Divinity also is using multiple sacred operations (e.g., baptism, forgiveness, Incarnation, inheritance, judgment, rebirth, resurrection from the dead) whereby the Creator is made knowable, known, accessible, and approachable.

GOD must be realized as a living spirit, therefore, ones consciousness must become reconfigured and directed to acknowledge and respond to the movement and workings of sacred substance.  To truly comprehend the many profound things from GOD, sinners have to be “born again” by receiving fresh endowments of spirit content from the GODhead, and then “grow up again” to become mature.  All are to display such divine attributes as balance, faith, forbearance, holiness, longsuffering, lovingkindness, restraint, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

Inseparable aspects from the makeup of Deity can replace the inborn spirit within those who repent and submit.  The “image of GOD” becomes visible to believers who will practice discernment (using their own spirit from the divine makeup as a standard to recognize and respond to the divine spirit within clergy, events, individual persons, prophecy, purposes, the holy writings, etc.).
By appearing in flesh and human form on the earth as Jesus Christ, the three persons who are one have provided assurance that our own, and the humanity of others, can be genuine expressions of divine being.  Men, women, and children can appear on the earth as legitimate offspring of GOD and joint-heirs with Christ, who display the character, makeup and substance of GOD.  Through Jesus Christ the full GODhead has been immersed in carnal, material, secular, and social realities that include birth, aging, bereavement, condemnation, punishment, torture, suffering, and uncertainty.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  John 4:  24, King James Version (KJV):  24 God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

(2.)  Isaiah 53:  3-11, KJV:  3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:  and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:  yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:  the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:  he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  8 He was taken from prison and from judgment:  and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living:  for the transgression of my people was he stricken.  9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:  when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.  11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied:  by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

There is far more to be said, correctly examined, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (3.)  Romans 8:  5-9, KJV:  5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:  for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.

(12/04/2013) Is Science the Right Tool?

Today, I share some thoughts responding to a another blog writer’s discussion that described science as being built up from facts like a house from a pile of stones (see caliope, A Different Perspective (December 3, 2013) 12: 29 AM @ http://caliope.thoughts.com/posts/a-different-perspective--2).  The BATTLE AXE continues focus on the topic of need for a one-time, world-wide revelation of GOD.

THE BATTLE AXE:  Reveal Himself to All? (12/03/2013)—After centuries of our living in the earth, mankind’s need is for more than simply a carnal or material visitation from heaven, or a one-time visible display of divinity.  Human history now shows that created beings and living creatures must have a continuing access to GOD that in turn requires transformation of mortal to immortal, of corruptible to incorruptible.  The need is for divine law that is internalized as a permanent aspect of ones own being; there must be direct access to and intimate relationship with GOD; and, surely as there must be final resolution of all conflict and charges against mankind, there must be full vindication and answer for all charges against GOD.  Redemption of the body must occur, wherein mankind is restored to the spirit-being perfection that has already been confirmed and displayed in Jesus Christ.  (See Romans 8:  6-23, and Revelation 21:  2-4 and 22-24, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:  (Colossians 2:  6-10, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  A Start for the Idea of GOD? (09/09/2013); The Bible and Genealogy (09/10/2013); Science and the Laws of Nature? (03/23/2013); How To Love GOD? (03/24/2013); Life Given By Knowledge? (04/03/2013); A Spirit Church? (04/04/2013); Prosperity Destroys Fools (09/25/2012)

One way of speaking about the importance and value of science is to say, science supplies a set of rules we can use to organize the many details and forms of information that come to us as human experience.  Many who rate science above godliness and spiritual knowledge appear to feel that using science we can control and predict events and aspects of experience, and even produce material and physical changes and useful products that otherwise could not be (such as computers, satellite radio, and smart phones).  However, those who correctly participate in the application and development of science also observe the rule that “scientific truth” is limited, and is only valid when taken with specific circumstances, conditions, inputs, procedures, and stimuli.

Consider this:  When we want to drive a nail to hang a picture, and can’t find the hammer, we might take off one of our shoes to “bam” the nail into the wall.  Even though it is not the proper tool, using the shoe works.  We hang the picture.  Yet, where we want to build a house, the shoe is useless—just as when we want to walk a mile, we don’t slip a hammer under our feet.  There are situations wherein we absolutely must have the proper tools, for only the proper tool will do.

In considering the things of being, existence and life, science is like a shoe, where faith is like the hammer.  Science alone allows us to complete certain focused works as in agriculture, mathematics, medicine and technology.  However, those same sciences are useless for completely comprehending the things of divine wonder that are displayed daily among us in birth, death, sin, forgiveness, love, rebirth, repentance, sanctification, and sacred wisdom.

There is far more to be said, correctly shared, and spiritually understood.  (For example, many who promote science do so from pride, not from first-hand experience, knowledge and research.  They are like users of smart phones who say, “I can’t live without it”, yet, think they can exist without an inner spirit, or divine content.  By speaking as though they can not endure change without the power and presence of the lifeless object, they say in effect, “I worship an idol; the smart phone is my god.”  Many who get a new smart phone, study the booklets and manual provided in order to learn the technology, and may experiment to discover all the possibilities of their new tool.  There are others—who even may be unable to read or write beyond a third grade level—who learn to use their phones with the help of family and friends who demonstrate the features.  In both cases, what the smart phone user truly wants is the security that the darn thing will work when they need it.  Those who want to “talk smack,” will brag about how much they paid, how many apps, how many functions.  Some will use their phone like stalkers, calling all hours of the day and night in artificial and exaggerated efforts to make themselves inseparable from others, and unforgettable.  The “smart” smart phone users will be those getting the most from their tool by putting it to necessary work, and by its balanced, correct, full and regular use.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.  We are commanded to be blameless and harmless, the sons and daughters of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom we are to shine as lights in the world.  Happy Hanukkah to all.
