(03/09/2018) Whoso Keepeth His Word

Today, response is on why the New Testament doctrine and revelation provides greater focus on divine love.  Mankind’s most urgent need has not been for more law from GOD, new law, or “better” godly law.  Rather than eternal, immutable law, the aspects of divine fullness that may be most suited to continuing, nourishing, and maintaining fruitful and productive relationships with created beings and living creatures include balance, completeness, faithfulness, love, oneness without sameness, personhood, presence, righteousness, unselfish giving, and truth.  Grounded through fresh endowments of such elements from the divine makeup, the living may more readily realize multiple possibilities for existence as life companions to immortal, incorruptible divinity.  Mankind has been shown that in the process and operations of GOD even enduring pain, dying, humiliation, living with those who are unkind, resurrection, suffering, and the second death also are expressions of sovereign love.  The writer in the “Yahoo! Christians, why does the NT emphasize that we love one another?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.  And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  And he is the propitiation for our sins:  and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:  hereby know we that we are in him.  (1st John 2:  1-5, King James Version, KJV)

“2FollowHim”, the message of divine love speaks to the eternal possibilities for the living to become joined to GOD through their own makeup and inner substance imparted from GOD as breath (life essence; spirit; Word).  The entire library of sacred books from Genesis to Revelation is intended to make divinity knowable, known, accessible, and approachable to created beings and living creatures on the earth, and in the heaven.  Life events on the earth among the Jews, who had been chosen by GOD to serve as his “peculiar people,” even included that divinity would become Incarnate and “visible” through the person of Jesus Christ.  However, many barriers to the acceptance of GOD using human form had been established through practices, traditions, and understandings that set the Creator apart more as an abstraction, or an artifact whose existence depended on sacred law.  Unknowingly for many, the law itself became an idol, the embodiment of a divinity.  Covenant relationship was not through the personhood of GOD so much as by divine authority, demands, and inherited obligations.

The teachings from Jesus did not annul or condemn the doctrines from Moses.  The more complete revelation of GOD provided as the new testament written in the blood of Jesus Christ, promotes the understanding that love goes beyond affection, family feeling, and romantic desire.  The spirit makeup and substance of love from GOD is directed even to adversaries, enemies, and sinners appearing as immutable and unchanging atonement, forbearance, forgiveness, impartiality in judgment, mercy, restraint, righteousness, and unselfish sacrifice.  Consider again the following that uses language from the Bible:

(1.)  Deuteronomy 30:  19-20, King James Version (KJV):  19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:  therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:  20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him:  for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:  that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

(2.)  Luke 10:  25-29, KJV:  25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?  26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?  27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.  28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right:  this do, and thou shalt live.  29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

(3.)  Romans 13:  8-12, KJV:  8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another:  for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour:  therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.  11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:  for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand:  let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

There is far more to be said, thoughtfully practiced, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  1st John 4:  7-11, KJV:  7 Beloved, let us love one another:  for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
