(08/05/2016) The Testimony From Jesus

Today, Scripture points are presented on the duty of Christian believers to share the testimony of Jesus.  Sharing sacred testimony is intended to continue divine revelation.  Those who display humility and meekness often are those who best provide the testimony of Jesus, for they do not seek acknowledgment, advantage, self-promotion, and their own glory.  The fighter at “Yahoo! How do i give a testimony for my football team when i've been a christian all my life and i have no testimony?
THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:  but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,  But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:  (2nd Timothy 1:  7-10, King James Version, KJV)

“Colton”, a testimony is a verbal report admissible as “evidence” in judgment (like ballistic test results, fibers, finger prints, surveillance camera film, a smoking gun) because it has the force of truth (…the whole truth, and nothing but the truth).  Many make the mistake of thinking they share sacred testimony when, in fact, they report only their own religious experiences, their private opinions, their own daily routines, or the unique and uncommon practices they may use when they reverence and worship GOD.  Where we speak on the basis of our own feelings, imagination, and thoughts, we speak “from ourselves.”  Correctly understood, those who are “born again” are to declare divine doctrine, preach the Gospel, proclaim the promises from GOD, and prophesy (i.e., declare divine intent and eternal purpose; comfort; edify; exhort).  In the same way boasting and bragging twist and warp confession, personal accounts and anecdotes quickly become ruined through exaggerated pride and self-promotion.  Unseen carnal, emotional, material and psychological forces may alter reports of experiences had among, and by family members and friends, making them only vicarious events and second-hand self-expressions, rather than genuine demonstrations from the divine Spirit.  Consider again how some of this is stated within the holy writings:
(1.)   John 7:  14-18, King James Version (KJV):  14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.  15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?  16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.  17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.  18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:  but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
(2.)  Revelation 12:  7-11, KJV:  7 And there was war in heaven:  Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,  8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:  he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:  for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
(3.)  Revelation 12:  13-17, KJV:  13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.  14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.  15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.  16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.  17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
There is far more to be said, carefully examined, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  Revelation 19:  9-11, KJV:  9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.  10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not:  I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus:  worship God:  for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.  11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
