Today, points are shared on describing the fullness of GOD (we say, the GODhead or Trinity—Father, Son and Holy Spirit). For many, the language to speak of divinity emerges from our common experiences as created beings having material form. Using an earthy or carnal focus as ones starting platform, three “persons” will mean six hands, 30 fingers, 30 toes, three belly-buttons. Human consciousness will stubbornly insist upon maintaining the frameworks of time, space, and individuality. Yet, the only correct foundation for sacred knowledge must come forth from Deity through exchanges, interactions and operations of sacred spirit substance that also are part of mankind’s makeup. “Person” must be understood as an appearance of multiple attributes and qualities such as active presence, existence, and life. “Divine mind” should not be taken as finite intellect, logic, or linear and discursive thought. Evil (i.e., unintended change; instability) as an aspect of human makeup, allows shifts in meaning and value that, in effect, contend against divine truth. The Creator is immutable and unchanging, yet, is to be understood through diversity and sacred events including growth, incarnation, rebirth, and regeneration. “Daniel”, here are some points I hope will help. Even mature Christian believers encounter two major obstacles when describing the fullness of divinity: (1) GOD is a spirit (we say, breath, life essence, word) and may not be directly known using only ones finite senses such as hearing, seeing, tasting, touching. To say Created beings and living creatures are “made in GOD’s image” asserts that the living may display aspects of the divine makeup, yet, are neither upon the same level, nor identical to Deity in character, form, and nature. Also, (2) knowledge of GOD requires knowledge of “spirit”, it’s makeup and process as well as its appearance and effects. Your namesake in the Bible, the prophet Daniel, was given answers from GOD through visitation by angels. However, the full meaning and weight of the divine response was too great for Daniel, for it required he assume a totally different posture—a divine point of view, so to speak. Consider the following framed in the language of Scripture:
(1.) Isaiah 55: 6-11, King James Version (KJV): 6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(2.) Genesis 8: 20-22, KJV: 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
(3.) Romans 1: 18-22, KJV: 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) John 4: 23-24, KJV: 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.)
