(09/28/2013) Dying in Terror and Joy?

Focus, today, is upon the death of Jesus Christ on the cross; and there is more on duty and love within families.  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “Diet Cola” (Level 7 with 30,755 points, a member since August 22, 2007) posted the following:

Why did Jesus have to die so terribly?

Couldn't there have been some other way?

THE BATTLE AXE:  A Lid on Love? (09/27/2013)—The divine spirit of love in mankind may be quenched through sin, and bonds of love that should be permanent may be replaced by distrust, fear, and shame.  In most instances of continuing conflict within the home, all the parties involved are wrong in different ways.  The hardness of heart that results in separation usually develops over time, and does not happen in an instant (see Proverbs 26:  2, KJV).  Much of our dissatisfaction and unhappiness with other family members results from our desires for unlimited freedom through love.  Rightly understood, however, love always entails voluntary acceptance of limits, self-restraints and rules (particularly, biting our tongue).  The goals, needs, and process among friends and the “fun bunch” are not those vital to home life.  In healthy families, there are numberless demands and duties that must be answered for avoidance and management of problems, for joint exploration of unfamiliar territory, for mutual support, and for shared protection and survival.  Confidence, hope, and continuing trust within relationships often depend upon meeting unspoken expectations, and not speaking every desire and thought.  For both children and parents, separation is an unavoidable aspect for properly becoming mature and establishing ones adult independence.  Parents are often impressed by their children’s behavior and conduct that, as some birds must force their young out of the nest, separation must be imposed upon their own offspring.  Ideally, the child’s continuing achievements, self-acceptance, respect for their parents, and genuine understanding of adult reality completes the separation without anger, bitterness, and resentment due to immaturity.  For gay and lesbian children to demand acceptance by their parents as a matter of obligation is no different than a demand that every stranger must become ones friend.  In life, you will not like every person you meet, and every person you meet may not like you.  We are not free to alter and change others, or enforce our will as more beneficial than theirs.  Truth is, the character and personality of ones parents can be such that, were they to meet their parents as strangers, the children would want nothing to do with them, would carefully avoid them, and would “break it off something proper.”  Similarly, were parents to meet their own children socially or in the work place as strangers, they would not seek regular contact, or a closer bond with them.  Separation can be imposed, however, acceptance cannot.  Relationships of acceptance only come through exchange, interaction, and correctly responding to one another’s human needs.  It is a common error to expect the needs of our spirit can be effectively met by someone other than GOD.  (See Psalms 27:  9-14, Matthew 10:  3239 and Matthew 12:  46-50, KJV.)

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.  (Hebrews 12:  1-3, KJV)

“Diet Cola”, here are a few points to consider that are useful to Christian believers as they enter into a deeper awareness of GOD:

(1.)  In Jesus Christ, the fearsome majesty and awesome power of GOD are hidden from mankind in the sacred events of the cross so that the fundamental levels of human awareness may be fully engaged.  Included are the peculiar bonds of feeling and recognition typically relied upon by those in the flesh.  By the work of the cross, and the events that follow, awareness and consciousness in all created beings and living creatures are to be transformed so that they more easily respond to spirit matter, and the substance of divine person.

(2.)  Multiple divine operations occur in the cross such that the death of Jesus is both simple and profound (i.e., far reaching in application, consequences, and effect).  Included are atonement, expiation (i.e., punishment and suffering for wrongdoing), obedience, reconciliation, revelation, and sacrifice.

(3.)  All the anguish and fear that comes upon the universe by sin is to be made apparent by the cross, and destroyed in an act of overwhelming divinity.  On the one hand, Jesus accepts his death and goes to the cross willingly.  On the other hand, Jesus, like every man, does not have a perfect understanding of what he must go through.  His decision, like that for believers today, does not come from emotion, full knowledge, information, intelligence, logic, predictions of the future, or reason.  His commitment comes from such aspects of his spirit makeup as faith, love, respect, and trust.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually understood.  (For example, (4.)  The blood of the cross is necessary for things in heaven as well as for things upon the earth.  The blood of Jesus that flowed at the cross must stream over time and space to anoint believers everywhere.  Also, a cleansing of the Sanctuary in heaven must be accomplished.  Operations of the Holy Spirit (the very essence that appeared at the beginnings of Creation) suspend time and space as barriers, and further completes the full ministry of Jesus as our High Priest.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
