(07/06/2014) The Point of Knowledge?

Adam and Eve, divine purpose, carnal information, and sacred knowledge are topics, today.  (No BATTLE AXE is provided.)  The “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “Imelda” (Level 6 with 12,493 points, a member since December 28, 2013) posted the following:

Did God not want Adam & Eve to have knowledge?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  O ye simple, understand wisdom:  and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.  Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.  For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.  All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.  They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.  Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.  For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.  I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:  pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.  Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom:  I am understanding; I have strength.  By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.  (Proverbs 8:  5-15, KJV)

“Imelda”, here are a few points to consider that are helpful for those who receive knowledge from GOD through Jesus Christ:

(1.)  As a condition for their existence, all living creatures are bombarded by, and respond to, streams of data generated within by their own tissue and organs, and from their physical surroundings.  Awareness is stirred by such aspects of flesh (we say, carnal being) as the appetite (e.g., hunger, thirst, craving for sex), sensation (hearing, seeing, tasting, touching) and emotional/mental events (e.g., desire, fear, imagination, recall).

(2.)  Awareness also should respond to the presence of the spirit content that makes up divinity.  By their disobedience and presumption, the holy pair committed human consciousness to be under a permanent limit of fleshly knowledge.  Thus, intellect, logic, mathematics, reason, and science can not detect, eliminate and remove sin; can not establish love, peace, and perfection; can not provide salvation; and can not establish eternal life.

(3.)  Rightly understood, genuine knowledge is information that provides benefit and value, and should be fitted to ongoing order as well as existing priorities and purposes.  Knowledge that does not address specific needs, and is not directly related to events and instances in human experience is held to be abstract, groundless, pointless, or speculative.  All knowledge that is factual (some say, true) does not “bear weight” in judgment, does not bring honor to those who possess it, and is not useful for survival and continuing life (e.g., fine details, minutiae, and trivia).

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  For example, (4.)  The effect and process of sacred knowledge is by the active presence and operation of divinity.  Thus, even for finite beings, knowledge of the holy is a peculiar form of power that the living may apply for their own benefit, and to continue the existence of all.  The many forms of sacred knowledge include discernment (ability to use ones own divine substance to recognize the sacred content in events, other persons, purposes, statements, etc.), divine law, prophecy, revelation, and holy writings.  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your knowledge and faith from GOD.

(06/01/2013) The Place of GOD?

Access to GOD, heaven, and the location of GOD is the topic, today. A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using ID “deepak” (Level 1 with 200 points, a member since July 9, 2010) posted the following:

Where is God?. Please tell me the correct answers.?

Where is God?

THE GOLDEN ARROW: For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. (Isaiah 57: 15, King James Version)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: An Earth to Fix A Heaven? (05/18/2013); The Need to Purify Heaven (01/17/2013); The Golden Age? (01/10/2013); The Place for Eternal Life (01/06/2013); Therefore There Was Trust (01/07/2013); The Ascension of Christ? (12/19/2012)

“deepak”, here are some thoughts shared by many mature Christian believers that may be useful as you build and complete your understanding:

(1) GOD is a spirit, and cannot be known and understood by created beings and living creatures that rely only upon awareness generated by the flesh, or the world. The flesh includes appetite (hunger, thirst, sexual cravings), sensation (hearing, seeing, touching), and mental functions (fantasy, recall, thought). The world includes such mechanisms for exchange and survival as history, institutions, nations, language, money, science, and technology.

(2) Data and information from the various operations of the flesh (i.e., human body and mind) are routinely focused, integrated and applied using such intellectual frameworks as dimension, form, time and space. Because Almighty GOD is unbounded and unlimited, these frameworks (at best) allow us only incomplete and questionable descriptions of Divine Person.

(3) Because divinity consists of substances that are not carnal, material, or social in nature, we agree GOD must be known by the spirit substance supplied to mankind at the Creation. Included are faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(4) The will of GOD does not put forth or respond to sin. Sin has so corrupted self-will in created beings and living creatures that, GOD has appeared in the earth through Jesus Christ (we say, incarnate), and has made it possible for believers to receive additional spirit substance now necessary to identify and resist sin.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (5) We traditionally speak of Heaven as the place of celestial presence as though a physical location is intended instead of an aspect of being and existence. Along with the human inability to perfectly focus our spirit content, we habitually choose to interact in the terms of our flesh and our world. Thus, believers must all pursue spiritual discipline to become clear, complete, direct, and stable when seeking to speak of divinity. Practices in ones routine of life must appear that include forbearance, forgiveness, giving, prayer, always speaking the truth, study of the holy writings, and group worship.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to your faith.

(04/11/2013) Faith, Language and “Mystery”

Mysteries, truth, and the frustrations of language are in focus, today, as I respond to the writer at thoughts.com using ID “anonuman,” who commented upon A Guide to Salvation? (04/10/2013) with the following post:

Rather than “mysteries” or special knowledge it should be described as broader or deeper or more complex concepts. I am certainly grateful to God for the gift of faith that He has given me through my study of the Bible and the fruit of my seeking God and of God’s provision of my need.

THE BATTLE AXE: A Guide to Salvation? (04/10/2013)—(5.) Correctly understood, the holy writings are eternal, immutable, prophetic, and unchanging. The Scriptures are a tool whereby the Spirit of GOD operates both through and upon human consciousness in multiple dimensions. Included are aspects of time (e.g., past, present and future), space (e.g., earth, heaven, the universe), and personal investment through relationships (e.g., adoption, coworkers, family, friendship, marriage). In addition to content readers may describe as historical, the holy writings include divine law, principles, rules, standards and truths that are fixed and permanent features establishing the sphere of human existence, and the specific boundaries and constraints for covenant with GOD. (6.) Many of the accounts provided through the Scriptures serve as examples, illustrations and warnings that point to possible outcomes, persons and situations other than those directly described. (7.) The process of the Scriptures conforms to that for all divine revelation by use of narrative forms that promote understanding through discovery. Included are the uses of additive repetition, allegory, parables, proverbs, types, and understatement.

THE GOLDEN ARROW: Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (1st Corinthians 3: 8-15, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER: Why “Mysterious” (11/11/2012); Attending Church? (11/12/2012); Dispatch 36: His Grace (09/15/2011)

Be encouraged! I sometimes make the mistake of speaking about sacred “mysteries” as though I mean to say “discrete, and fixed data.” What I really am trying to describe is a consciousness of divinity that exists within the “mind of GOD,” is itself divine and, when imparted to created beings and living creatures, transforms their awareness and continuing existence in “surprising” ways. The limits and obstacles of our language become apparent here. For we are speaking of something that is active, alive, has no boundary, cannot be measured, and is without dimension.

GOD is a spirit, and cannot be apprehended by mankind apart from operations by GOD upon what has been put forth as his Creation. Through the Bible, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, mankind has been given tools for agreement and meaning whereby we may ground our thoughts and communication (we say “reference points”). However, such eternal processes as communion, fellowship and revelation are experienced as discovery, and the realization of ancient things that exist as if they were new creations.

There is far more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, within the World system of common human experience, we speak of truth and wisdom as though they are a matter of intelligence, knowing and mental functions (e.g., fantasy, imagination, recall). For mature believers in Christ, truth and wisdom may be understood as aspects of Divine Person. As the content of sacred being, they are inseparable from other divine substance such as faith, holiness, longsuffering, righteousness, and wrath against sin.) Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful. Be it unto you according to the measure of faith you now contain.
