Points are shared, today, on the greater access to divine benefits and gifts established through Jesus Christ dying upon the cross. In addition to a new testament in his blood, believers in Jesus receive access to divinity as joint-heirs with the Son of GOD and standing in judgment as those for whom atonement has been made, a redemption price has been paid, forgiveness has been provided, anointing and spirit substance from the makeup of GOD has been imparted, and there is ongoing intimate relationship as the offspring of GOD. Instead of being taken as a cause of great darkness, death, and gloom, the cross is to be seen as a source of hope, light, and new life. A writer at “Yahoo! I'm just wondering before Christ died for us where did people go after they died before that event happened? Like we go to heaven now?

“Someone1976”, trust that, through operations of the Holy Spirit, blood, correction, and truth from the cross continue to flow to here and now. For mature Christian believers, Jesus Christ dying upon the cross was not to alter or eliminate condemnation as an outcome of divine judgment, or to change the conditions, process of death, and state of the dead. The cross was a further appearance of divinity using flesh and bone (we say, Incarnation) to crystallize and fulfill operations of unseen Spirit (e.g., forgiveness, divine law, mercy, proclamation, promise, prophecy, righteousness). Greater access to GOD would be granted to mankind through atonement, intercession by the Son of GOD as the divine High Priest, and deposits of inseparable divine spirit matter from the makeup of Deity (e.g., faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, wisdom, wrath against sin). The Savior completed mortality, was buried, then demonstrated resurrection and ascension that pertain to final judgment for created beings and living creatures. “Eternal life” begins for the living before final judgment through “water baptism” (death of ones inborn spirit, ceremonial burial and rebirth from divine DNA, so to speak). Once “born again,” the Christian believer is to “grow up again” preparing for final transformation to exist as a life companion to eternal divinity upon the earth, that will have been cleansed and made new. Until then, the believer is to mature and become “ripe” for harvest by the Lord at his Advent (we say, appearing, the Rapture, the Second Coming). The prophets in covenant through Moses (e.g., Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel) also describe “eternal life” where the believer will exist having fellowship with GOD upon the earth, not in heaven. Consider how this is stated using language from the Bible:
(1.) Isaiah 65: 17-21, King James Version (KJV): 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. 20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. 21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
(2.) John 10: 27-29, KJV: 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
(3.) Revelation 20: 4-6, KJV: 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
There is far more to be said, understood, and spiritually apprehended. (For example, (4.) Revelation 21: 1-5, KJV: 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
