(08/11/2014) Modern Communion?

Divine judgment, the relevance of a New Testament Scripture, and the Lord’s Supper are topics, today.  A “Yahoo! Answers” fighter using ID “Emil” (Level 1 with 90 points, a member since May 29, 2014) posted the following:

How is matthew 26:26-29 linked to modern communion ?

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat:  this is my body, which is broken for you:  this do in remembrance of me.  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood:  this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.  Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.  But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.  (1st Corinthians 11:  23-32, KJV)

“Emil” here are a few points of conviction that allow Christian believers to avoid error and spiritual confusion regarding the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper:

1.  Sacred knowledge (Bible truth; the holy writings) and sacred practice are interdependent.  Both are given to authenticate the appearance of divinity among and within created beings and living creatures.  Through operations of the imparted Spirit, both make discernment possible whereby the living recognize and respond to sacred events (we say, miracles), patterns of things in heaven that are upon the earth as well as the breath of GOD (we say, commands, spirit, word, utterance).

2.  Correctly understood, communion is neither a carnal (we say, fleshly), nor a temporal operation.  As a process through the active presence of GOD, there are aspects of communion that are eternal, immutable, and unchanging.  The focus, power and purpose of communion will never change, diminish, fade, weaken, or wilt.

3.  As a sacred meal, the communion does not nourish ones flesh, ones intellect, or ones passion for the things of GOD (we say, desire, emotion).  Rather, ones awareness and self-will are built up, fed, increased, and provided for along with their own spirit content (e.g., faith, holiness, joy, longsuffering, wisdom, wrath against sin).

There is far more to be said, correctly understood, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (4.)  The Lord’s Supper works against the corruption that challenges the living during their daily walk with Christ.  In addition to hope (what believers are commanded to expect), the material presence of the kingdom of heaven in the earth, and resurrection power is further established within the body of Christ.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to your faith.
