(04/09/2014) The Name(?) of GOD

Today, points are shared on how GOD is to be known, and what it means to speak the name of GOD.  Also, there is more on the philosophy of free will.  A “Yahoo! Answers” writer using the ID “raven” (Level 1 with 100 points, a member since August 18, 2012) posted the following:

In Exodus chap.3 verses 13-15, how do you understand the meaning of God's name as he reveals it?

why he identifies himself with the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?

THE BATTLE AXE:  The Philosophy of Free Will? (04/08/2014)—(6.)  The term “freewill” appears in the holy writings only to describe offerings that are made as vows and voluntary pledges to GOD as opposed to mandatory or required sacrifices (i.e., losses endured to acknowledge and honor GOD).  Liberation from harsh boundaries and limits the living may encounter during their life are also addressed.  Without the intervention of GOD incarnate as Jesus Christ, only through a person’s physical death are humans made free from the conditions for mankind’s existence imposed by mortality and sin.  Baptism established through the ministries of Jesus allows death of ones inborn spirit, and rebirth having a fresh endowment of the same spirit matter that continues as divinity.

(7.) In the context of correct relationship with GOD, there is no acceptable exercise of self-will (some say, choice, individuality, personal preference) by created beings and living creatures that will continue and prosper sin.  Sin is the name applied to a collection of forces and influences that operate among those made in the image of GOD as an effect of separation from the Almighty by their aspects of independent being, and self-will.  In addition to opposition against GOD that is displayed as ambiguity (we say, internal conflict when presented with multiple alternatives) there may be lack of response to divinity (we say, one is dead in spirit), defensiveness (i.e., efforts to maintain ones coherence and integrity by continuing or increasing separation from GOD) as well as raw defiance, enmity, and resistance.  Coming into perfection (we say, becoming spiritually mature as a living entity, becoming full of the Holy Ghost) requires countless unseen, yet recognizable operations that must be directly carried out by GOD.  The mechanical unfolding of life stages and phases of development are not enough to bring mankind into their highest relationship with GOD.  Nor are applications of finite intelligence, logic, and reason.  This explains why some are “ever learning, never coming into the knowledge of truth.”

(8.)  Political concepts of freedom seek to maximize outcomes and possibilities for human survival by projecting goals and ideals that describe collective and full participation in obtaining and sharing life resources.  Similarly (yet, not in the same way), those who tout free will seek to maximize personal pleasure, the elimination of duty, obligation, and responsibility on behalf of, or within collectives (including pairs).  Arguments for free will are recognized as deception and guile when they employ false assurances to ones own satisfaction while bonding is discouraged along with diversity, good works, oneness (not sameness), solidarity, and unity.  See Genesis 1:  27, Leviticus 23:  37-39, Deuteronomy 23:  23, Psalms 119:  107-109, Romans 6:  6-8, Romans 8:  2 and 7, Galatians 5:  1, James 4:  4, and 2nd Timothy 3:  1-7, KJV.

THE GOLDEN ARROW:  Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.  (Proverbs 20:  11, KJV)

THE DOUBLE DAGGER:  Lower-case or Capital? (01/31/2014); Sprinkled, Immersed, Named? (02/01/2014);  Jesus Is GOD’s Word (12/28/2013); Alpha and Omega (12/29/2013); Fear & GOD? (12/30/2013); A GOD of War? (03/12/2013); “Authorized Personnel Only” (03/13/2013); How Was GOD Known Before Jesus? (10/06/2012); Jesus, King of Earth? (10/07/2012)

“raven”, here are a few points “at the tip of the iceberg” (so to speak) for Christian believers who truly choose to have a correct and full knowledge of the GOD who has put forth this entire universe:

(1.)  GOD is a spirit and must be known through interactions and operations between and among aspects of spirit matter.  Divinity is not a material object, or anything of physical particles such as clouds, fog, mist, smoke, steam, and vapor.

(2.)  Created beings and living creatures are granted an awareness of divinity as active presence (we say, pure existence).  The “ingredients” or “makeup” of GOD appear to be inseparable spirit matter (where you find one, you find all in various measures and proportion) such as faith, holiness, life, longsuffering, love, righteousness, truth, wisdom, and wrath against sin.

(3.)  Life essence (we say, spirit) is also spoken of as breath, soul, utterance, and word.  GOD may not be named or treated as just another physical object within the emotional, mental and physical spheres of experience for created beings and living creatures.  To utter a “name” of GOD is to establish the active presence of divinity within the sphere of awareness.

(4.)  GOD has used human flesh and material forms to make divinity known (we say, revealed) among sentient creatures.  Jesus Christ is an appearance of GOD in human flesh and mortal life process (we say, Incarnation).

There is a lot more to be said, correctly applied, and spiritually apprehended.  (For example, (5.)  As finite beings, humans must use the frameworks of time and space to organize all the data of their life experience (e.g., emotions; senses such as hearing, seeing; thoughts).  Fixed points must be identified and maintained for orientation and reference; otherwise, information can not be recovered, there is no recall, and there are no barriers that eliminate confusion.)  Even so, I trust this fragment will be useful.  Be it unto you according to the measure of divine faith that resides in you.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.  For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.  (2nd Corinthians 4:  3-5, KJV)
